Amended review, The owner did contact me, apologized the job was not what I expected and promptly sent out a crew to work on my house. This time they did an excellent job. They looked at the part that was not washed before being painted and we all agreed there was not much that could be done at this point for that part of my house. They assured me if it goes bad, just call and they will take care of it. The awning is beautiful. They properly prepped, then painted the entire awning. Even fixing some mistakes I made when I first painted it. It looks so much better. This time I think they went beyond what I paid for. I couldn't be more pleased with the work done. The painters were very professional and I will consider using them again.

I would not recommend Certapro painters. My husband and I had them out to paint our home, decks and garage just over a year ago. They explained that they would power wash and then paint and it would be just over $5000 we agreed to the price as we assumed since they were a reputable company that the price would reflect the quality of the work done. We were disappointed as after it was power washed there were flakes of the old paint that came off and instead of making sure the surfaces were clear they just painted over the flakes. There were also several places that didn’t get painted at all. A couple days after there were also parts that were bubbling up. I contacted the office and they had someone come out and they did paint the places that were missed, didn’t acknowledge the flakes that were now painted into the deck, and told me that they would pop the bubbles and paint the wood underneath but it was because of the old paint they painted on top of because what should’ve happened was they should scrapped any old paint that was an issue away before painting but that would’ve taken more time and been more money. I would’ve been fine paying that money if it would’ve even been mentioned when they came out to originally give us a quote before the house was painted. Again Certapro painters are supposed to be experts and professionals, I would have taken the advice. Less then a year after it was painted my deck spaces look like they have never been painted, see picture below. When I tried to get in touch with the company I received no response from the local office so I sent something to the corporate customer service. They forwarded the information on to the local office. After two weeks I sent another email to the corporate customer service since I hadn’t heard back. They assured me that they would send the information on to the general manager and have them respond ASAP. It has been another week with no response.

While I had very high expectations for CertaPro's quality of service, I did not receive the level of service that I was sold. In my initial meeting with Graz Matutis (local geography lead), I explained my frustrations with prior painting companies and he assured me their level of quality would be far superior to their competitors. I obtained three quotes to have our main floor painted (1,800 sq ft) including all walls, ceilings, trim and windows. CertaPro was this highest quote but when I shared the amounts of the other proposals he decreased the quote roughly 10% to match the second highest quote I received which estimated 3 resources for 8 days. My issues started on the first day when Graz said three individuals and himself would be on-site Monday morning at 8am to get started. At 9am two individuals came and finally got started. The entire project took the team of two 5 days, an estimated 65-70 hours which was far less than the original estimate of a team of three for 5-7 days. Additionally, the crew did not apply a second quote of paint on all of trim and windows which they specifically agreed to do to match the other quote I received. The most frustrating part of the program was the lack of QA by Graz. He was a very good salesman on the front end and made a number of promises that were clearly not communicated to the team doing the work. Additionally, Graz spent a total of two hours at our property over the course of the 5 day project and typically only stopped in for a quick check-in with the team. All of the detailed quality review was left to my wife and I, as we spent a considerable amount of time reviewing the work throughout the job, marking spots that were either not prepped correctly, not prepped at all or not painted correctly including a lot of overspray on our walls, windows and fixtures. The team came back Friday afternoon to clean-up all of the mistakes made on the project however they were rushed and did not get to everything such as cleaning the excess paint from the windows, door hardware, etc. My wife was very frustrated with the amount of paint dripped onto our hardwood floors, windows and ceiling fan in our family room which she had to clean. When I brought these oversights to Graz's attention, in some cases, he was condescending and did not express the urgency expected given the number of issues noted. Based on my experience I would not recommend CertaPro.
