Asked for a quote was told someone would be at the house . No call no show. Will be taking my business elsewhere

I guess when you have so many satisfied customers, you are able to choose to neglect new customers. My wife and I have contacted you on three occasions in the last week and a half. You assure us you will call or come by to give us an estimate but never follow up. The last time I called, you said you had no records of our previous calls and requests for estimates, then you promised me someone would call me back the same day. Didn't happen, big surprise. It's a sad day for your company when you choose do make decisions like this.

I cannot recommend Freeland Painting enough. They provide great customer service and even better results. I will definitely use them again next year once it warms up and exterior painting can resume.

This was a great experience. I found their level of expertise, cleanliness, professionalism to be worth the cost. My house looks great and I would recommend them to everyone.

Had a very good experience with Freeland They painted three rooms, hallway and ceilings. They were on-time and did a good job of cleanup and were flexible with changing paint colors part of the way through the job when I didn't like the color that I had chosen once it was on the wall. They quickly made the change and I now love the results. Would definitely recommend and use again

I've worked with Doug and his crews three times now and couldn't be happier. Their work and customer service are both outstanding and I recommend them without hesitation.

I cannot recommend freeland painting enough! They called back same day to schedule. The estimator showed up 15 minutes early. They delivered the estimate quickly and with clear line items. Because of this, I had full confidence to proceed without shopping around for quotes. The started within 3 days of me approving the estimate. They completed the job in the exact timeframe they estimated. They worked hard every day (I work from home). The Estimator came by daily to check on the crew. They completed everything to my satisfaction, and even did extra work without nickle and diming me. At every point in the relationship, they did an exceptional job. As a business owner myself, I can say that the owner of Freeland Painting should be proud of his team.

I just recently awarded Freeland Painting the contract to paint a pool cabana in a community I manage. Doug and Jeremy went above and beyond to make sure the job was done before our pool opens tomorrow! Even though it was late notice to get on their schedule, they made sure to get it done on time and with great quality. I will absolutely use their services again and would gladly refer them to anyone!

I have worked with Doug on a number of projects over the past few years. His guys do a quality job. But more importantly take ownership of the project. I use contractors daily on numerous projects. Contractors are people and are going to make a mistake at some point. But what i can attest to with Doug is whatever may happen he has and will always make it right. Fully trust his crews and professionalism. Highly recommend this company.

These guys did a great job. Once Doug and Jeremy got onsite, they gave us a quick appraisal with the final paperwork in hand by the end of the day. We had the painters out onsite by 8am the next morning and the whole project (All kitchen and bathroom cabinets along with ALL of the trim/baseboards in the house) was completed within 72 hours with high quality results. The painters themselves were terrific giving us daily updates and statuses. Jeremy was here daily to check on the progress as well which was much appreciated. Would definitely use them again (And plan on it actually).

I heard Doug speak at a Gwinnett Chamber event and had his card in my wallet. My husband and I decided that with our baby coming in June that is was time to get our popcorn ceilings removed upstairs because it was coming down in the nursery. Matt Holland was quick to respond to me with coming out to do a quote. He was very responsive and patient with me and all my questions. The crew who came out to do my house was a 2 man(and woman) team and they were awesome! They were also very patient with my questions and me going to check to make everything was covered which is was! They were both very nice and hard workers! My ceilings look amazing! I HIGHLY recommend them. I am a very happy customer!

I had an excellent experience with Freeland Painting. They provided a quick estimate, consultation, and most importantly quality service. As I was installing flooring and leaving town my schedule was very tight. Freeland made it happen to meet my needs. The post job inspection yielded on a few minor requests which were fixed the same day. I would highly recommend this company and will use again.

Our horror story with Freeland Painting started in June of 2017, the job was finally ended by us on August 2017 due to poor workmanship and lack of communication. We contracted to have our house painted and our deck stained. Over the course of our project there was a lack of communication from Freeland and major mistakes made. We had 3 separate crews work on this project. Two were newly hired subcontractors, one left after the first few days of painting and one was fired before the end of our project by Freeland. The second crew had been taken off another Freeland project and put onto ours as their last chance. First mistake, they painted the roof of our enclosed deck area, this could not be removed and stained. Second mistake, we asked for semi transparent oil based stain, they applied a water based stain which looks nothing like the oil based. Third and the most egregious mistake was they applied 3-4 coats of the water based stain to the deck. The poor application of the first coat of stain led to multiple coats being applied to cover up the unevenness of the stain. This led to a deck that was pretty much solid in color, none of the wood grain on our 9 month old deck could be seen. When we complained, Doug told us the deck looked beautiful and what a great job had been done. Excuses about how the wood absorbs stain differently were made although they never did test patches beforehand to determine this. At the end we were very unhappy, the owner Doug refused to remove the stain and demanded payment. We refused, went to court and learned the hard way the law favors contractors. As long as the work had been completed we were obligated to pay and the risk to choose a dark stain was our fault somehow. Several offers from each side prior to court were made, each of Freeland’s offers came with a stipulation of a non–disparaging clause. Meaning we would not be able to post negative reviews about our experience. We refused and paid the price. Attached are pictures of our deck, this is a small sampling as we took over 30 during the project. One shows the handrail they missed and that’s after final inspection. One shows a picture of deck wood I stained by brushing to give a comparison of what we wanted vs what we got. This is the best visual example of the horrible quality we received. Again we wanted semi transparent deck stain. The other pictures show how horrible the first pass of deck stain was applied. As you apply more stain over existing stain it becomes darker and uneven. This is the quality of work Freeland does. The picture of the worker sleeping on the job at 3pm serves as a good example of their attention to detail. Aside from the deck the house painting was mediocre. No prep except for pressure washing was done. Areas that needed some sanding prior to paint were ignored. I’m not real sure the carpentry repairs were done correctly either. Hindsight is 20/20. Here are some interesting facts, Freeland has been in business for 15yrs according to Doug’s testimony in court. At the time of our contract there were only 5 google reviews, 15 or so reviews on yelp and about the same on kudzu. A majority of the reviews were from before 2015. Amazing that a business this mature only has a handful of reviews over the past two yrs, how many unsatisfied customers settled out of court or with Doug in return for no negative reviews. If you want a transparent or semi transparent stain on your deck, do not use Freeland. If you hire Freeland be aware the major mistakes on our job were not resolved. Doug told us Freeland did the best job possible. Most contractors would try to resolve any issues to make the customer satisfied in order to prevent negative reviews. Doug and Freeland Painting did not care at the time about our level of satisfaction and would rather take us to court and attach a non-disparaging clause to any settlement. Is this the type of integrity you want in a contractor that you’re spending your hard earned money on?

5.0 star rating 2/2/2016 I've had Doug's crew paint the exterior, install a new roof, and pressure wash the house and all of the concrete on the property, completely to my satisfaction. On time and done when promised, all at a more-than-fair price. I recommend Freeland Painting. JB
