My wife and I feel that the color of the trim is too yellow, so does Brent, the gentleman that did the bid for us. The trim color and the body of the stucco color seem to bleed together. We are dissatisfied with the trim color because it is too bright with yellow. We wanted more of an almond White. We feel like it is a mismatch on the color. We are working with five star to correct the color match and make it more appealing. We never saw the trim color until the day of painting. Our brand new garage doors have been painted over. We have many friends in the neighborhood all inquiring about the painting crew we hired.

New edit on 1/26/2017: A few days ago the owner of five star painting called me to apologize for overcharging me after they had originally agreed to price match a competitor. He personally came to my home to refund me the amount that I was over charged. I was very surprised as a lot of companies do not go above and beyond as mark did to correct this mistake. Thank you mark. I will definitely consider five star painting for my next paint job. Just had the complete exterior of my property painted by Five Star Painting of Colorado Springs. The paint job came out great and the house looks amazing. The weather wasn't cooperating with us so the job took longer to complete. I think they also had issues with there painting teams because they started on day and did a few hours work and them work didn't continue again for another few weeks and there where a few good weather days in between. But the team that finished the job did an amazing job. After the team got done they walked the house with me so I could point out anything and they could touch up what needed to be touched up. I would have given a 5 star review if it wasn't for issues I had with the pricing. Originally I asked if five star priced match which they said they did. And they said they offered military discount. Before getting the quote from five star I had received multiple quotes from other painting companies. One in particular that I asked five star to price match stated in there quote the price they where offering as well as a better paint and in any colors I choose. Five star priced matched there quote as well as matched there paint quality as well as the competitors warranty. But what they didn't match was the any colors part. They contacted me and said that because of the colors i choose there would have to be an additional charge for more paint for the trim and fascia as well as an additional gallan of primer which ended up not being needed which they did take off of the price. And additional charge for labor for a second coat on the trim, fascia, front door and attic vent. They didn't need another coat on the from door or attic vent so they took that off the additional charge as well so that was good. But I was still charged an additional $247.54 over the price match that I thought they where going to do. So in reality they didn't price match and the military discount must have been in the discount to bring me closer to the price match. I think they should have done the military discount on the price match total but that's just me. I also spoke with them and tried to get the price down because originally we where going to get the garage door and gutters and down spouts painted but I didn't need them done anymore so that was less paint and less labor. But they wouldn't give me anything off not not having to paint the gutters down spouts and garage door. I didn't understand that because they charged me more for more labor for additional coats on trim and facia but they couldn't give me anything off for not having to do the garage gutters and down spouts. I also paid in cash which they offer a 2% discount for that but when I brought that up they said the discount is only for the labor not for the total cost of the job which was not specified originally which I think they should make clear, but they gave me 2% off of labor. All and all the paint job came out amazing and I am happy with the work that was done, the painters cleaned up after them selves when they where done and where very respectful. Just had a problem with the price match and up-charge and discounts process stuff. If not for that they would have received a 5 star review from me.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Five Star subcontracted painters with active arrest warrants. I told the subcontractors to leave my property after their foreman threatened to physically harm me. Police were called and two of their painters were arrested for outstanding warrants. One for burglary. Five Star's owner, Mark, immediately called me and wanted payment. He then said he was putting a lien on my house if I refused to pay for his unfinished work. And I was the one being threatened. How is this guy in business? The owner told me his subcontractors were doing a fine job and he was never on site.

While I was very satisfied with the finished product, the painters lacked proffessionalism. I specifically instructed them that we were replacing the carpet so a little paint on the carpet was not a problem, but that we needed the carpet in decent condition because we were still showing our house to renters. There was no room in the house that didn't have paint on the carpet near the walls around the whole room. Apparently "a little" paint on the carpet is okay meant paint my carpet, too. Also the painters broke one of our blinds, the real wood kind that aren't exactly cheap. Again, I specifically told the painters that it was not necessary to completely remove the blind before they painted nor was it necessary for them to close the blind after they finished. When I went to close the blind later that evening, I found that the blind in the master bedroom would not close. On further inspection I found that the gears inside were jammed and broken. I addressed this with the owner/manager and he promised to reimburse me for the cost of a new blind if I sent him a copy of the receipt. I sent the receipt, but the owner/manager never contacted us again. In short, if you need the job done quickly and adequately, call these guys. If you need integritiy and dependability, call someone else.

Franchise Owner Mark Lambert shows his best qualities at time of estimate but once you sing a contract with him, his actual true colors comes out lack of respect or courtesy. Most unprofessional paint contractor in town. STAY AWAY If you decide to still work with Mark, keep in mind your job will be done by a sub-contractor, to who Mark forces to cut corners by not paying what the job is worth. With our end of season exterior job now complete, I am quite impressed with the company’s employees, I hope the company values these folks. A man named Wayne did our estimate, he was very nice, knowledgeable and seemed happy to be new in the area, while a couple named Amy & Jason we’re hired to actually paint our home, and while there were a couple bumps along the way such as the paint store messing up the color initially, they were all very reassuring that everything would be made right. And they did. 5 Star did it’s due diligence all the way. Wayne stayed on top of the progress, the color matching, he came out three or four times, however it occurs to me he could have opened & checked the color himself instead of relying on the mixer, before bringing it to my house. Could have avoided that problem with a bit more diligence on his part. Jason and Amy both stayed in touch as well, kept me updated on weather and times. They were very professional, they both worked hard and they were a pleasure to chat with as we scheduled around the end of season weather. When Wayne suddenly quit, or got fired I’m not sure, Jason & Amy took over the job and made sure everything got done to a very high standard. We were very happy with how they handled everything. If the company keeps people like these around them and continues to treat them well, I can see a long future of high ratings and word of mouth referrals.

Both the manager and the painters listened to what we wanted, and made sure the estimate was accurate with no hidden charges at the last minute. What a horrible experience these painters were. Where do I even begin? Let's start with that the crew was late 3 out of 4 days by nearly an hour with no explanation, but that was to be expected since these guys were incredibly unprofessional. They left their own trash laying around the house everywhere and didn't even clean it up when they were "finished." Bare spots were left everywhere and plenty of paint made it on things that shouldn't have been painted, including windows, mirrors, and a pair of custom closet doors that are now ruined, thanks to 5 Star. Oh, and they also didn't paint a major section of a wall as they were supposed to. If you want unprofessionalism, laziness, and plain negligence to the extreme, hire these guys. Otherwise, run away. I really wish I could give -5 stars, as these guys were just that horrible.

For a company called 5 Star Painting the customer service is horrible I wish I could talk about the painting but that hasn't happened. Do not use this company!! This business should not be allowed to serve Colorado Springs. It is sickening to know that they can get away with providing the worst service ever. I paid over $3,000 to have a small 2 bedroom ranch (no basement- brand new build home) painted, I was quoted 2 day completion and it took 2 and a half weeks. No one ever showed on days they said, they showed up late on other days and left within an hour or two. The project manager was horrible, she never answered her phone or return my call/texts/emails. The painters got paint all over my cabinets, wood floors, carpet, bedding. The paint job alone was horrible, you should see these lines. The owner Mark and his project manager Sarah kept saying they would make things right but nothing was ever done. Don't waste your time or money!

They completely repainted my entire home, stucco, trim, edge metal, etc. They did minor stucco patch repairs as needed before repainting the home. I just can't say enough about Five Star Painting! Our estimator, James (Simmons), came out to our home, listened to all of my ideas and even gave me a few suggestions of his own about painting the complete interior, to include ceilings, trim, baseboards, closets (I'm sure I'm missing a few things) and all cabinets in the home, and the exterior of my home, to include my shed as I wanted it to match my home. He was super quick at getting me the estimate, which I thought was very reasonable considering all of the work that needed to be done to my 2400 sqft home. As soon as I was ready to start the project, he made sure the ball was rolling so that I could be back in my home within the timeframe I requested. My project manager, J Landry, was super nice and made sure that my painting needs were met, even with some last minute changes. He always responded promptly to any texts or calls made to him. He was constantly going over the house to check on the progress and he met me at the house every single afternoon to update me as well. He made this project so easy for me, without all of the worry and stress that comes with such a huge renovation. Rudy's painting crew were fantastic! They were very professional and did amazing work to every room of my house. Every time I came by the house, no matter what time of day, they were always working, sometimes into the late evening, well after the sun went down. All this to say, if I ever need any painting done in the future, Five Star Painting will be the only company that I will ever use. Absolutely love them!!

The work was done quickly and efficiently and the crew was respectful to our shrubs,plants and pets. We had gotten another bid from a competitor and it was 3 times the price. Our experience with Five Star Painting was excellent. They arranged for a paint consult with Sherwin Williams, did thorough prep work, including power wash and caulking, expertly replaced damaged siding, and painted the entire outside of the house with three colors. The painters were true professionals, the painting was done with precision, and everything was cleaned up on a daily basis. Based on their work painting the outside of our house, we are going to have them paint the interior of the house.

From the first meeting with James to the final walk through with J our experience was wonderful. James answered all my questions and provided me with a bunch of references. Gustavo and Gabriel were completely meticulous with their painting. They completely covered my floors and furniture and didn’t get one speck of paint on anything but where it was supposed to be. I’m so impressed with the edging and straight lines on the ceiling. J had an eagle eye during the walk through and pointed out things I honestly couldn’t see.
