I've always had good experiences at Optical Fashions. The staff are pleasant and Doctor Garbrecht is great. There are times the business is really busy, though. Sometimes the waiting area is saturated with people choosing glasses and those waiting. Also, the building is a "gun free" zone, so there's that.

However, she no comments at all when I spoke of being hospitalized from my latest battles with cancer. The eye doctor was very nice but shared too much about her frustration with the insurance industry.

I went in here to get an eye exam and the optometrist was the best I've ever had. He explained several reasons why my contacts would be irritating my eyes, and how to treat them. I also go here any time I need prescription safety glasses for work, they have a nice selection that doesn't compromise on style with the side shields. This business is usually busy because it's so popular in the area, but it is always staffed well and there are reasonable wait times.

Several years ago, Optical Fashions installed permanent silicon nose pads in an eyeglass frame for me. The technician in the shop did the job in 20 minutes, the work was perfect, and the charge was only $10. I dropped off another frame last month for the same simple modification, and was told the job would have to be sent to a lab. The cost was $15. Three weeks later, they were finally ready. When I was able to inspect the work closely, I noticed that one of the pads was crooked, and far too much glue was used to cement them in place. The job was a mess, and since small holes are drilled in the frame to mount the pads, it can't be easily corrected. I could have done a better job myself if the pads were available to me, and I will attempt to correct it myself rather than make another trip to this business.

The customer service here can be improved. My recent glasses order were incorrect and this being the second time my glasses had come in with something wrong with them, having to have wait again was a tad bit irritating. At least it wasn't ten days this time. Talking to one of the ladies on the phone I was told that if I came in it would be a 30-45 minute wait. When I got there I was told 45-1 hour wait. On the phone I had to ask for an apology. ugh. So, my biz is going somewhere else which is too bad because the optometrist was really nice and helpful.
