They tried to collect additional money for contact lenses fitting when my insurance covers 100% when I asked why, the office manager said he has astigmatism but we haven’t been treating him for that but now we will. He has been going there for years. I’m skeptical. Just to confirm I will set an appt with an ophthalmology rather than an optometrist to their out of the blue diagnosis. In addition if it’s true, then why they haven’t treated him for astigmatism? untreated astigmatism can result in nerve tension and headaches.

Friendly doctors thats why they get a star other than that overprice products and they display cheaper prices for eye exams and they end up charging you more even when you have insurance. I will never go there again. I would not recommend this place at all.

Highly recommended. Friendly interaction at all stages (from phone to in person), patiently and professionally explain exam and lense options, and clearly care without the commercialized pressure to upgrade a prescription. Especially liked seeing the same optometrist who remembers you.

I have struggled with contact lenses for ten years since I got diagnosed with keratoconus, which is an extreme form of astigmatism that disqualifies you from laser vision correction. I consulted with every doctor possible including surgeons and the best they could do for my vision was a blur - with contacts or glasses. After consulting with Dr. Mehta, the main thing I got was a sense of someone who actually listened to my concerns and wasn't rushing me out the door. She had a patient approach and gave me a few options but offered me hope that surgery was not needed. She had me try a special type of contact lens that no one else had suggested before. I was reluctant because it was not the type I was using for the last ten years. Lo and behold, the first time I put them on it was like I started seeing things I didn't even notice were there before! My vision literally felt like going from black and white TV to HDMI! I can't argue that, at first, the lenses themselves were not exactly comfortable but Dr.Mehta coached me through wearing them until I was able to tolerate them. My vision has never been better and it is to the point that I finally went back to completing a personal goal of mine that I had put off due to a lack of confidence in my vision: I obtained my pilots license! I cannot thank Dr.Mehta and her team enough for everything. As a practicing physician myself, I know that bedside manner alone does not cure illness, nor does being a super scientist. It is precisely that combination of things that a great doctor has to have, and I have no doubt that Dr.Mehta and the team at Visual Health in Ashburn will go on to help many others like me because they listen and know what they're doing when it comes to correcting vision. I am so thankful for the new lease on vision that you gave me! One doesn't know what they've been missing until it's taken away and when you get the opportunity to get your vision back it is truly miraculous...

I found the staff very friendly and casual. My first visit was very comfortable. They did a very thorough exam. Their selection of frames is quite good in my opinion and they offered some great deals. They are very responsive to any questions and when I called to check on my order they tracked it down quickly instead of just telling me it wasn't ready yet and to call back later. I recommend this office.

This is by far the worst place I've ever visited for an eye doctor. This being my first time visiting them, I made sure to do my research well before and finalized my appointment with Dr. Mehta. When I showed up for my appointment half an hour early, I was told they were running late but I will be helped soon. I never realized soon for some people means an hour and a half late!!! Once my appointment officially started, in walks in NOT Dr. Mehta instead it's some other doctor called Dr. Richard Bossin. I guess while I was waiting for AN HOUR AND A HALF no one found it necessary to let me know that they will be choosing my eye doctor for me no matter who I made the appointment to see...Even though I was already anything but happy I decided to suck it up since I had already wasted close to 2 hours of my life in that office. Then I told Bossin (there's a reason why I will not be addressing him as a "doctor") that I wish to get contacts for the first time in my life. First I was told I would have to pay $40 to attend a GROUP CLASS TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO DROP A CONTACT INTO MY EYE. After I obviously said "no it's okay my sister already has contacts she can help me out", he said that a contact fitting will be needed. He walked out and came back in with a single contact WITHOUT washing his hands comes towards me to drop the contact into my eye. I said "It's okay I think can do that myself." His response is "I have to do it since you don't want to show up for the class", attempts to put the contact in with his unwashed hands-DROPS THE CONTACT ON THE FLOOR...PICKS THE CONTACT OFF THE FLOOR..DROPS IT INTO THE PACKAGE THE CONTACT CAME PACKED IN AND TAKES IT BACK OUT TO ATTEMPT TO PUT THE CONTACT IN MY EYE..........The last thing he needs to be in-charge of "providing full scope primary optometry care and contact lens fittings" and the last thing I will be doing is going back to Visual Health Doctors of Optometry.
