Appalachian Eye Care is wonderful! I was very impressed with my experience. The staff is always helpful, professional, and courteous. The wait time is never very long. Dr. Lane is wonderful, extremely helpful, and always willing to go out of his way for his patients. Great office and people!

This place has: bad customer service, rude doctor, and expensive glasses.

My experience was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. I did not feel like a number at all. I could tell right from the beginning the staff all worked well together with a definite routine in mind. I appreciate my doctors recommendations and expertise.

From my own personal experience I have no complaints. The lady that did my eye exam was great. My prescription is correct and my glasses are perfect. My husband on the other hand went at the same time I did and lady that did his exam was different from mine. Only after we had already left did we realize he wasn’t given the same exam I was. We assumed it was because our sight is different and we paid the $300 for his glasses/frames and $200 for the coating on his lenses because he works on computers.Once we received his glasses he immediately noticed he can’t see out of them. Why he wasn’t given the same exam as myself we have no idea because they didn’t tell us. They gave us our prescriptions and immediately started selling us on glasses. So now we have $500 glasses that he can only use while he’s working. Close up they are fine but at any distance he can’t see out of them at all.

I am very impressed, I found the service provided by Dr Lane to be exceptional. My experience from the initial phone call to schedule an appointment until receiving my bill and summary of services at the end of the visit was excellent. I did receive the most comprehensive eye exam that I had ever received and I am over 29, let's say. . The doctor explained every exam feature and was quite knowledgeable. I will never go anywhere else. The staff was professional, friendly and helpful. I would recommend Applachian Eye Care to any body I know. .

Kind of annoyed. We have been seeing these folks for over 5 years and never had any issues, the doctor is great and the staff is typically friendly and helpful. However, this year our insurance changed and instead of telling us to make us aware that we would be using them out of network and basically get $0 coverage, they let us complete our exams and then charged us over $200.00 for what should have been free for an in netowrk provider. Should I have checked? probably, but it had never been an issue and I had never been to any dr that didnt make you aware that they would be out of network...Furthermore our contacts would not get the $150 credit toward each order due to this out of network issue. After searching on the internet for cheaper contacts, we realized we could have been saving over $200/year on contacts this whole time after their mark up!!! Seriously frustrated with the treatment this year and doubtful we will be back even if they landed in network later.

Appalachian Eye Care is a tremendously professional center. A great staff makes you feel secure and confident that all is being done to make your appointment as efficient and comfortable as possible. It is obvious that they have been trained very well. I have been to several eye care centers over a 50 year span and I must say that Appalachian Eye Care impressed me from the very first visit. They performed tests on me that I had never had before, which gave Dr. Lane such a precise look into my situation. Very comprehensive and impressive! Oh yes, and speaking of Dr. Lane...what a compassionate, understanding and wonderful doctor! He spends time explaining everything...no "hurry up, let's move on and get you out of here" attitude!! You leave feeling like you have been completely cared about. Great selection of frames!! Thank you Appalachian Eye Care!
