Love Dr. Doan but the opticians there leave a lot to be desired. I wish they could keep the good ones and get rid of the bad ones! Many a time I have been seated with opticians that don't seem to know what they are doing. I have had issues with my left lens in my glasses for the past 6 years and many times when getting a new prescription filled (with extremely minor changes) I can't focus with my left eye. Only one optician was able to trouble shoot and fix this. Of course she now doesn't work there anymore. I went in last week for an appointment and sat down with an optician who seemed utterly confused when I asked her to compare my good glasses with a pair that never worked for me. She then proceeded to take my good glasses (couldn't tell at first since I had no contacts or glasses on - plus the other pair I brought were similar in color) and HEATED THE FRONT OF THEM UP.........I have NEVER seen an optician do that....She also bent the frames downwards on the sides....I asked her to straighten them....When I was about to leave and was wearing them I noticed a bunch of dots near my nosepads on both sides. I said to the front desk person that I thought this was from the optician heating them up since they never were like that. She said oh that looks like hairspray....funny I don't use hair spray and hair spray should come off when you clean them shouldn't it?......Of course they don't come off. There are also a million scratches on them that weren't there before. But the worst issue is my left eye vision seems distorted.....An issue I never had with my current lenses. So distorted it's causing me eye strain and making it harder to wear my contacts. I don't know what part of her messing with the glasses caused the distortion but I have reached out to the office manager (also an optician) to help me. Fingers crossed I can get this resolved.

Before NORTHERN VA. DRS. of OPTOMETRY became who they are today, they started with Drs. Jablonski and Galiani in their first shop in Crystal Plaza. Just a two man operation. They have grown from one optical shop to many 8n NOVA. I have never waivered from them. Very professional, up to date on eye care, the best eye Drs., in NOVA. I would be remiss if I did not mention Miguel. Oh my, if you are ever undecided about selecting your eyeglass frame, Miguel is the man you want to see

The good: the Dr. seemed knowledgeable and the designer frame selection was impressive. The bad: I have "never" received such poor customer service (rude, condescending). The fact that impolite staff members were put in charge of representing the business in essential steps of the process (choosing a frame, ordering lenses, contacting insurance), completely flabbergasted me. I did not buy their glasses because of this, and would warn prospective customers.

Love coming here and have been coming here for years even after moving from Alexandria to north of Baltimore! The staff is always friendly. The technology they use is up to date, and the selection of products is great. Dr. Sparrenberger is the best eye doc ever!

Dr Vroustrouris is the best optometrist I have ever been to in my many years of wearing glasses and contacts. She isn't satisfied until I have the best vision possible for my eyes. She is attune to and concerned about overall eye health, pointing out and monitoring conditions previous optometrists ignored. She is unfailingly patient and explains what and why in laymen's terms. She will refer to specialists as necessary and keeps close tabs on what they find. The opticians are also the best. They take time to listen to any issues with glasses and make sure they are perfect. The technicians are professional and explain procedures. The front desk staff are always helpful and in good spirits which is a reflection of how well they are treated.

Really happy with my visit here. The exam rooms are spacious and well organized. They validate your parking which is always a great thing for patients. I saw Dr. Doan and really satisfied with my check up: she took time and was very thorough in checking my eyes and provided with good attention. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great eye care. Thank you!

Love this place!! Would definitely recommend it to anyone who ask!! They were recommended to me by a coworker. Extremely friendly, and they were able to fit me into the schedule without having to wait weeks. Dr. Sparrenberger was amazing. We talked about my eye sight and the problems I was having. He gave me two options for contacts with enough testers to try both for a week before I decided which one I liked better. They have a nice selection of glasses. I had my lenses changed, and they called me to tell me it would take a few extra days. I absolutely love them. And you can order contacts and have them delivered to your house.

I have complicated eyes that are constantly changing so it's really hard to find an eye doctor that actually listens and is patient enough to try different options. The staff is very friendly and their equipment is so up-to-date! I didn't have to have my eyes dilated thanks to this new fancy machine. I'd highly recommend this practice to everyone!

I’ve been getting my eye exams here for four years now. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and go out of their way to be helpful. Most of their glasses are brand name and I’m more of a Costco shopper but their contacts prices are comparable to online discount sites so I order through NVDO. Highly recommend.

I have been a patient since 1992. The level of professionalism has been outstanding. I have never had any reason to complain. Their dedication to their patients goes far above other doctors I’ve been to. I broke my computer glasses, it was a Saturday and Dr. Vroustouris was on leave, she came in to help me instead of having one of the other doctors handle it. If a consultation is necessary, the staff goes out of their way to schedule appointments for you and they make sure your records are ready to be picked up or send directly to the specialist. I believe in this practice so much, I’ve referred my parents and my brothers and sisters.

My boyfriend asked me to leave this review as he hasn't stopped talking about Doctor Theodora and the Northern Virginia Doctors of Optometry since he got home 3 hours ago. From the futuristic blood pressure test to the futuristic eye test and everything in between, this man has had a better experience at the Eye Doctor than he did at the last movie I made him sit through! His biggest takeaway (and the reason I'll be headed there) is that the doctor has honest as the day is long going as far as saying "I wish I could make money on you, but I wouldn't feel right about it." That says a LOT in the world of "wanna buy a watch!?" eyeglass salespeople. Two thumbs way up from him and in turn me for the Northern Virginia Doctors of Optometry Arlington Location and a fist bump for Dr. Theodora Vroustouris! Thanks for not only investing in your company for 2018 tech, but for also being so awesome, he won't shut up about you!

Overpriced, rude, won't release prescription information after exam (which is illegal), force you to come in for an exam every year to get new contacts. Treat their customers like wallets. Never again. Glad my wife tried this place out before me because I have plenty of options in this market that are cheaper and better.

We have been patients of Dr. Vroustouris since 2010. I have a family of 5, and we are all in glasses or contacts. Dr. V is passionate and knowledgeable about eye health; and when she detects specific problems outside of her specialty, she gives excellent referrals. The office staff (technicians, admin support) is great as well: efficient and informed on everything from sunglasses and frames, to vision testing and appointment scheduling. On the rare occasion they make mistakes, they contact us immediately and let us know the actions they've taken to correct the situation. I have recommended Dr. V and this office to colleagues and clients. I will continue to do so!

My husband and I have been patients at the Crystal City office (and on occasion at Loehman's Plaza) of Northern Virginia Doctors of Optometry since the 1980s - first, with Dr. Galiani (who is now semi-retired), and now with Dr. Vroustouris. On occasion we've seen others doctors in the office for emergencies or to suit our schedules. We've always been treated with the utmost of professionalism and care. When I started with them, I had been unable to wear contacts for several years. Dr. Galiani was able through much effort on his part to fit me with contacts which I wore for a number of years. Then I had Lasik surgery and they did all my pre and post-op follow-up care. Now that my husband and I are at the age where glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration are issues, the care and concern exhibited by Dr. Vroustouris is of the utmost importance. I can't imagine going anywhere else for my eye care. We also get our glasses from them and have never been disappointed - they do anything and everything to make sure you are not just satisfied, but extremely happy with your glasses. No, they're glasses aren't priced like those at Costco or Wal-Mart, which I do shop at for many things, but I trust that the quality and service my husband and I get is worth the extra money.

I went in for an inflamed eyelid and asked to have my prescription checked at the same time but when I got there they told me I had only been scheduled for the eyelid and they didn't have time for the exam. I would need to make a different appointment. Ok, maybe that was my fault. Maybe I wasn't clear on the phone. I made an appointment for the next week as I left the office. I was given a card with all of the information on it. One week later I was on my way over for my next appointment but I was stuck in traffic so I called to let them know that I would be 5min late. The woman on the phone acted like she had no idea who I was. Eventually I was able to remind her of my previous appointment but she said that I did not have a new appointment today or ever. I'm glad I called. I came to this office for all the years I was growing up and Dr. Galiani was always great to me and my family but there is something going wrong at the front desk these days. I don't think I will be going back.

I love this practice. I have been a patient at Crystal City since 2002 and a patient at Loehmann's before than since about 1996. The doctors are great, the staff is great, the facility is clean and comfortable and I rarely have to wait more than 5 minutes for my appointment. I never feel rushed and the doctors are very accessible.
