Had a enjoyable and speedy experience here. After the eye exam Jacob was very helpful in selecting my frames and going over the lenses I would be getting. The glasses came in a week earlier than was expected. When I went in to get them I was sat down and fitted and was in and out. I think price may be a little more than some other places but I am completely satisfied with my experience. Good job!

It has taken forever to even receive an update on my contacts. They told me I would most likely receive them in 2 days but it could take up to 7 days. It is now the 8th "business" day and they still can't figure out where my even contacts are. Every time I have ordered contacts from other companies, I have never had this issue and always received my contacts in 2 or 3 days max. Now come to find out, after 8 days, they finally tell me they are on back order and would have to wait another week or more. This is ridiculous. I rarely leave reviews but this situation merits a review. UPDATE: I cancelled my order and found contacts in stock at Target.

Amazing friendly staff and doctor! I received my Lasik through them and it was a wonderful experience from both the Bountiful and Holladay location. They where very thoughtful and thorough when explaining the procedure which made it a much easier experience. You can tell that their staff genuinely cares, and always welcomes you with a smile! They also got me amazing deals, which is always a bonus!

Very please with how everyone treated my daughter and self today while we were there. The Dr. was extremely nice and made conversation so it wasn’t awkward. It was the first exam I have had where the Dr. actually explained to me how my eyes were. Christina took the time to make sure we picked the perfect glasses for us. Didn’t feel rushed at all. Bad service. Only gave us 1 option of contacts. When we decided to go with them for a 1month trial we were told 3 days till we could pick them up. It's been 2 weeks. Try to call and cancel and get a refund. No one will answer the phone. Horrible business. Will not return again.

I have tried progressive lenses several times. They always disappointed me. I would purchase glasses try to wear them and be so aggravated I’d give up. I went to Bountiful Standard Optical and tried one more time. Wow. I love my glasses. No more readers. I am so pleased. Would highly recommend them.

Dr knolls was so caring and treated my son so well just like a little man. He made him feel completely comfortable about getting glasses. Tyson was so sweet and funny and made finding the right pair great. Even the lady that helped with the first part of the exam was great. This is the worst experience I have ever had getting contacts. First, the "doctor" got my prescription wrong THREE times. Each time was the same response- "Come into the store..." Finally I have the right prescription so they ordered 8 boxes of contacts. But, they ordered an old prescription. When I asked that they correct it, they said I could only do that with a manager, who was out for 4 days. Four days later they reordered, and they were wrong again. I told them I want to return these and get my money back, and I was told only the manager could do that, too. The next day the manager says they will not do any refunds. I called the corporate office, and I got another gate keeper. This one tells me that the head of customer service can call me back, but that she "doesn't have a phone". I guess I am experiencing some of that incredible customer service right now. 20 calls, 5 visits to the store, and an optometrist that just guesses your prescription. No customer service, and complete incompetence. I will never do business with any Standard Optical ever again.

The optical techs have bad attitudes and display a put upon attitude when asked to simply do their job, especially one in particular. She didn't even bother to clean the glasses after adjusting them.

My daughter has some vision problems, but not enough to warrant glasses. We go in before the school year starts make sure she's still okay. This year her school sent home a note saying she needed extra testing and the results needed sent to the district. I wasn't sure what extra testing she needed, so I took the note into the store to ask what I needed to do. Morgan took the note and let me know she would check with Dr. Knowles. Just a few hours later I received a call back from Morgan telling me she had talked to the doctor and my daughter didn't need extra testing beyond what we had done before the school year started and that she had sent a fax to the school district letting them know that everything was taken care of. Above and beyond what was requested and so appreciated!

I usually go to standard optical for any of my children's family glasses, so recently my daughter's glasses have broken and my husband had taken them to standard optical to see if they would be able to get her a replacement. Our insurance was able to cover for a new pair of glasses. My husband had left broken glasses The standard optical facility. After leaving them the person Christina had claimed that she had given back the glasses to my husband, which was a lie. after speaking with her she had claimed that she had given back to my husband but my husband never received the glasses back he had to pick him up the next day after he got off of work, she was very unprofessional not only that yelled at me I asked for another person in charge and she hung up the phone. I will never go back to standard optical again after my daughter gets her new glasses. They really need to figure out their staff and how they treat other people unprofessional. We still don't have the glasses that Christina had claimed she had given to my husband.also for her to sit there and say that my daughter was going to receive another pair under insurance there's no point of getting those glasses back because they were no longer there.

I love it here, they are the bomb. They have always been very nice and professional. I purchased glasses from them a littler over a year ago. A piece on the frame broke, they gave me a new frame even though I was slightly out of warranty. Jacob and Nancy are great!!!

I've been getting my eye exams and contacts here since we got Opticare insurance about 16 months ago. I love the location, and the staff. They have always been friendly and helpful. My contacts take about 2 days to come in and I just ordered glasses last week. (Still waiting on them.)

Dr. Knowles is one of the friendliest, most upfront optometrist I've ever met. I'm not sure why there are so many negative comments about this place when I didn't even see anything bad about the place. I had specific questions about my eyes and how the exam works and Dr. Knowles answered all of them openly and honestly. I was worried about going to an optometrist that didn't know what they're doing because I've been to some eye doctors before where I felt that way but with Dr. Knowles I felt like he was very experienced and he knows his stuff. I would definitely recommend getting you eye exam at this Standard Optical though the contact and glasses/frame prices seemed a little high but I'm cheap and I buy my glasses on Zeni optical and bargain shop for contacts.

The service is ok and fast , but i have notice some difference on the service between me and the rest of customers , first visit i notice every customer got drinking water offer , me and my wife didnt , nothing wrong with that , but after a couple of visits i notice everytime i want to have a conversation with any of the employees they dont want to talk to me , maybe cos of my accent, but i am an retail store assistant manager and have no problems with my team cos of my accent , i dont know , i spend around 900$ every visit but i guess thats not enough to get an equal kind service , i dont recommend this place and probably i will never go back

Will tell you you have to pay all the extras for your glasses without saying you CA HAVE IT without all the extras. Hidden unnecessary extras added $100 to an already expensive pair of glasses. Chug eked elsewhere and saved $180. Will NEVER get my glasses there. Rip off car sales person tactics.

The employees obviously work on commission. I told her my insurance covered up to a $150 for frames--and could she help me find something in that range. She waved vaguely around the store and said that would be hard to find, so I told her we'd look around a bit on our own. After 10 mins. (and finding a couple of great options around $130), I found the DISCOUNT wall--a whole section of frames marked $50 or less. When I asked why she hadn't pointed this out to me, she literally smiled a little sheepishly and said nothing. But, wait, there's more. ..At check-out, I did a literal double-take at the final bill $287!!! "This is AFTER insurance?" She confirmed that it was. When I told her that I was going to do some comparison shopping elsewhere, she suddenly remembered another package that brought the cost to $57!!! I was stunned. That's when I lost it a little bit and told her that I didn't trust this store and walked out. We went to America's Best and ended up paying $13 with insurance. Even WITHOUT insurance America's Best has a deal where you can get two frames WITH lenses for $75.

The doctor is great. In the past I have had frustrations with the customer service on the front end. The only reason I've gone back more than once is because they are one of the few companies in network for insurance. When the manager learned of my frustration he asked for honest feedback on how to improve. My experience did improve after he learned I was frustrated.

I asked around and found that Dr. Knowles has a good reputation for determining accurate prescriptions. I have used the Bountiful Standard Optical services three times and been very happy with the prescriptions Dr Knowles has written for me. His staff is friendly and very helpful. The frames I've purchased are expensive, but I really like the quality of the frames I've purchased, and like the guarantee they offer.
