Dr Wilkinson removed the cataracts from both of my eyes a few months ago and put lenses back in my eyes. He explained to me then that it might get cloudy which it did. I came back and he corrected both of them. He has always been very thorough, friendly, and answers my questtions for me. The young lady who assists him does a great job in preparing me for my visit. They were able to diagnose my eye prescription and help me with a condition. However, when they dilated my eyes they did not give me any type of coverage at all. It was a bright and sunny day and it made driving extremely difficult. I never knew they offered eye covers after the fact I left. Nice staff and doctors though.

I would give 0 stars if I could. I traveled from St George to see Dr Engen, I made it very clear what I needed and I was sorely disappointed meeting with The Dr. This would have been avoid if the staff actually told the Dr my case and I had been dealing with them for 2months prior and he even viewed notes from other Dr but still wanted to tell me “no, I will not remove your eye” to my face.. instead of by phone?... His interest was purely himself and didn’t care for my emotional welfare. I have suffered 12yrs from eyelid repair from a car accident and my eye has been affecting me ever since. I recommend Dr. Todd Cook in Provo! He is amazing and is personal and shows how he cares. A true spirit that is uplifting and has a calm presence! Todd Cook did amazing and his staff is pleasant also!

My cornea transplant was very successful, most of the stitches have been removed over the year since surgery, and vision continues to improve. In three months the last stitches will be removed, and then I can look forward to cataract surgery and near perfect vision. For thirty five years I was legally blind in the right eye.

This review is purely regarding the billing office/ customer service. I was billed for two co pays in July. One for March and one for May. The March co pay was paid by debit card the day of service. The co pay for May was for surgery, which was fine so I paid it by check, along with the debit transaction number for March's co pay for proof. I then received another statement asking for another co pay with the same billing code for the same procedure on the same day in May. When I called to question this the girl in billing simply said to me that that she couldn't help me understand why I had two co pays for the same procedure on the same day (I had already paid another co pay to another docs office for a follow up 10 days after) but would check with the doc/ surgeon regarding the bill, because she said he was the one who initiated it.I said okay. I asked why I was originally billed for my March visit 3-4 months after it had been paid at the time of service and she simply said: Well that just went to a different place (?). I decided to call the office back. I spoke to a receptionist, explained the situation to her and asked her to put me through to another billing clerk, maybe a supervisor. I was put on hold. The receptionist said that no other billing clerk could help me, but that billing would speak to the doc when he returned that day and she ( the receptionist) would follow up with me to make sure I had an answer. That was a week ago...I called this morning and was told that the Doc is out of the office until next week. Today's receptionist didn't want to get involved, and said she knows nothing about the situation, so I will just have to wait until next week - just like that... Hmmmmmm... I explained both times , plus another time in a note ( giving the March debit transaction number), that I wanted a statement showing a zero balance, and that this simple situation needs to be resolved asap, so credit problems do not arise. No one seemed to care about that.

Complete waste of time and money to go to this location. I had to wait 30 minutes for the doctor and when he finally did come in to the room it was as if he was trying to set a new record for how little time he could spend with me. Ended up getting the wrong prescription, now I have to reschedule my eye exam to go to a different location and actually get an accurate prescription.

I have and continue to appreciate the expertise and service I receive at Excel Eye Center. The one thing negative I experience is the inconvenience of your parking lot. Every time I go there I am concerned because the parking spaces are so narrow as is the drive through at the north end. Yesterday I bumped a neighboring car trying to get into a parking stall and while talking to policeman filling out the report he commented, "Yes, this is a small lot. It is surprising the number of times we are up here." I think that should tell you that you need to rethink your parking lot and make your Center a much more convenient and positive place to go.

Summer of 2018 I was out fishing on our boat on a windy day we desided to move into the spot called the “narrows” because the mountains stopped the wind. we casted out and after waiting I was very tired and was day dreaming , my uncle had been with us fishing and he was using a lour on his pole casting in and out. Finally, he got a snag he pulled as hard as he can trying to get it Un snagged from every angle . and as me daydreaming wathcing him pull his line not thinking much of it all the sudden I blacked out. my uncle had been pulling so hard on it the end of his pole where you hold on to it gashed me right in the eye. After getting home trying to find a doctor to go to we went to an insta care. We waited a while finally they brought me back and gave me an eye test I could not see a thing out of my left eye. My vision was 20/2400 then they tried to look at my eye with there machine it would not dilate so we went home waited and decided to go to the ER after waiting for about 2 hours there we found a doctor:Justin Wilkinson that was kind enough to come to the excel eye center at 11 at night. He finally my was able to get my eye to dilate I had ended up having a scratch on my eye and I tour my iris I am grateful for him because now I am seeing 20/20

I have retinopathy and I have to have a shot in my eye every 6 weeks, and sometimes less often. I get excellent excellent treatment from Doctor Aaron Gunther. All those who attend to me, in the office, and the nurses and assistants are all friendly and kind. The shot in the eye is the hardest thing I have to do in life as a 70 + year old so this is important to have tender loving care, along with all the latest medications and treatment. Excel Eye care is great. The waiting time is zero and the Doctors took the time to explain every procedure that I could use to improve my vision. In my right eye the procedure that i received improved my vision from 40/60 to 20/30 and with my contacts in a am nearly20/20. The result of the Same procedure on my left eye provided me with nearly a result that is just as good as I have gone from 45/70 to now with my contacts in to20/30. I had PRK done by Dr. Wilkinson almost a year ago and am seeing 20/15 in both eyes! It was the best present to myself ever! No more dealing with glasses or contacts! Dr. Wilkinson and his staff have been super helpful, patient and informative along the way. The procedure really wasn't too painful or uncomfortable. I had 2 days of minor discomfort before I was feeling pretty close to 100%. I have zero complaints and would definitely recommend them!

I went in hoping to get contacts, the doctor came in and told me he wouldn’t give me contacts and no other doctor would either. He also told me no one would ever perform corrective eye surgery on me, because no one would want to be liable for damaging my good eye, and I would be stuck with classes my whole life. After receiving the harsh news and crying the doctor told me that they would cover the expense for the extra eye test I chose to take. When I went to the front desk I asked what I owed because I wanted to pay up front that day. They told me I was all good and didn’t owe anything. About 4 months later I get a bill in the mail from them, which also included billing me for the extra test the doctor told me I didn’t have to pay for. I only have Saturdays off and their office closes early on Saturdays so it was very difficult to pay my bill. I went one Saturday and they had closed even earlier then their hours said, the next weekend they were closed all together. It was a very frustrating experience I would not recommend this place to anyone else. They said they’d reach out to me about concerns, yet never did...

What billing office calls all hours of the night?! I have been called at 6pm on a Saturday and now at 8pm on a weekday! Yes, not all people work during the day, but most people do and it’s honestly so rude to call so late. And the woman was very rude about it. I will never go back again, let alone the fact when I was there it took them forever to get me into my appointment!

After a devastating accident in 1988 (resulting in a 2 1/2 month coma) I have visited many Doctors and Offices. I have been treated for severe Glocoma for 20 plus years at Excel. I have always been treated with the utmost kindness by the staff, received the most professional treatment from the Doctors (or referred to the most specific Specialist) for my particular issue. All the surgeries have been watched and checked on a daily basis to make sure successful healing was fine. I am most pleased to give them the highest rating I can possibly give and more.

I'm glad to know that the Excel Eye Center is adjusting a claim that our insurance company indicated was paid in part, and for which I paid the remaining amount. It's quite frustrating to be sent a bill for service that was indicated was paid in full. A more recent visit with the billing department helped resolve the issues more completely and satisfactorily.

Got into the exam room quickly and initial check was prompt but then had to wait a half hour for the doctor. When he came in he apologized and explained that something had come up. I assumed it was some problem with another patient. His examination was very thorough and the equipment was state of art. He spent a lot of time with me explaining things and answering questions. I was very pleased with the care I received and would definitely recommend Excel Eye Center to others.

I ended up with a very bad viruse in my eye last November. I went to local clinic and was told I was gonna loose my eye. After a month they sent me to Excel and Dr. Wilkenson has been awesome. I Thank him so much for treating me all yr. Iended up having a cornea transplant to repair the damage. Now few months from now I can get cateracs removed. I’m on my way to healing Thanks to all at Excel I have my eye.

Excel Eye Center eye glass department really takes the cake! Poor service and the longest wait times for expensive glasses ever. I’ve been dealing with Caitlyn the manager and still feel some frustration. I ordered my glasses with frames on June 19 and I’m still waiting to receive a pair of sunglasses I ordered I must note here that Caitlyn did her best and gave me full credit for my lenses of about 525.00. That was something I hoped would happen and I’m grateful she helped with this. I understand issues of lab problems and lenses coming scratched. I’ve tried to be patient now for nearly 2 months. Wow! These glasses I ordered were going to be beautiful and cost me nearly $650. I’m returning to Costco as a devoted and grateful customer for their wonderful service. I don’t have enough patience to deal with Excel eye Center. I wish them the best m. Excel Eye Center needs to take some lessons from Costco Eye Center.

I started going to Excel Eye Center 4 years ago, after my former eye doctor retired. I like that Dr.’s Morris and Wilkinson are thorough yet quick. Their professionalism is always appreciated. I also recently purchased new glasses at the optical center. Not only was their selection vast, but their tech, Tanner Williams, took the time to help me pick out the perfect pair. The staff here are so friendly and prompt here. I had an eye emergency and Dr. Schmutz came in on a Sunday to take care of me and refer me for a retinal detachment. After my surgery, I then needed a lens replacement. I was able to make an appointment and have that taken care of as well within a short amount of time. My eye is doing great and my vision is improving . I am very thankful to Dr. Schmutz!

2nd UPDATE: My visit was great! Then husband got appt - 1 month out - he is driving to appt and gets call that they are running behind and need to CANCEL - Can't get him in for another MONTH!!!. We are so done with this office. SAD UPDATE: Got a really nice apology and will give them one more chance. Love Dr. Lohner. Went in today to see Dr. Lohner. Sign says he is 30 minutes behind. No problem. After 50 minutes I ask how much longer? After 1 hour I am taken back to room to be told it will be another 30 minutes or more - 4 patients before me. My time is valuable also. Not one time was I given the courtesy of any communication that the wait time would be so long. WALKED OUT and will never return. Worse service ever.
