Anyone in search of an eye doctor, please see Dr. Amy Waymire! I came into the office early this week due to an emergent eye infection and I was quickly squeezed into Dr Amy Waymire's schedule. I couldn't have asked for a more professional, compassionate, informative Doctor than her. She explained everything to me at every step of the eye examination, and in terms that I understood. In all my years of encountering medical professionals, no one has stood out more than Dr Amy Waymire with regards to 'bedside manner'. She really impressed me and helped calm my nerves so much. She felt like a Doctor that truly cared, and saw you as a person, versus a patient. Exceptional Doctor, the very best of the best - be sure to request for Dr Amy Waymire specifically!

This place is outragrously expensive. They helped me pick out glasses and got me really excited to only find out they were $800, with my insurance. Terrible! Especially when I can order the same ones online for $100. My eye doctor from Illinois charged about $75 for the entire visit + glasses + contacts (without insurance!). This goes to show you how much they overcharge everything. They do push the 3d eye mapping, it really isn't necessary and costs extra if your insurance doesn't cover it. They don't warn you when your insurance doesn't cover it either. A week ago, I got a call from them saying I had an appointment the next day and I hadn't even scheduled an appointment. I have actually moved out of the area and didn't even have the need to have an appointment there. This week, I got a bill in the mail with no explanation of what it was for. When I called, they said it was for a co-pay they "failed to receive" for my 2014 appointment. I asked why this was the first time I was hearing about it and they said, "Sorry... you still owe the co-pay." Supposedly the $72 I gave them last year wasn't good enough. This place just makes me want to cry. Stop taking money from me! Stop waiting until a year goes by to bill me for some small expense you should've billed me for when I was there that day with all the other fees you charged me for!

Donelson eye care dropped the dang ball on me. I've gone to them since 2012 over some issues another eye dr told me I had. When it got to the point I needed to take care of it I made an appointment to get the measurements so surgery could be planned. During that appointment DEC tells me they didnt take my insurance. Also during that appointment they were unable to do any kind of corrections to my vision. I then found Nashville eye associates. Dr William's not only took care of the dilation problem he changed my lens took out some cataracts and now I have 20/20 vision with no glasses. If your reading this and your a patient of DEC (donelson eye care) my advise is FIND ANOTHER PLACE DEC DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR EYES ONLY MONEY.....ITS A SAD THING

**Attention Special Needs Parents** I recently took my Autistic son to see Dr. Waymire and let me just say.. WOW! I was extremely impressed by how kind and patient she was with him. He had so much anxiety about going to the eye doctor due to a really bad experience elsewhere, but by the end of the appointment he was all smiles! I could tell she had plenty of experience with special needs kids and that is not an easy find for parents like myself. She moved at his pace and never forced him to do any testing he wasn't comfortable with. She is also very thorough and explains everything she is doing as she does it. I can't even begin to describe what it means to have my son be so comfortable in her office. She's amazing and I highly recommend her to anyone with special needs children.

I have seen Dr. Waymire a few times for Chronic Dry Eye. I didn’t know that dry eye was actually a thing, I just knew that my eyes were red and burning daily. After a few tests, Dr. Waymire diagnosed my symptoms and explained this condition to me. She was very informative and patient with me, as I had a lot of questions and concerns. The cost was more than I anticipated but I did take in to consideration that I was seeing a specialist. As a 33 yr old female, this was not the diagnosis I would have liked to have because it can’t be cured, makes wearing eye makeup very difficult and interrupts many of my daily activities. But I do have hopes that Dr. Waymire will help me get my eyes to a comfortable place. She and her Nurse, Rachel are great and I would highly recommend them to anyone suffering with Dry Eye.

This place is fantastic. It had been over 10 years since my last eye exam, so I was a little weary of where to go. From the appointment scheduling on, the receptionist was so nice! She offered me coffee and airplane cookies, extra points for snacks. The rest of the staff was very helpful. I loved that some of the paperwork was laminated and given to me to sign with a dry-erase marker, how eco-friendly! The frames were a little pricey for me, but they do have a nice, unique selection.

I have been going to Donelson for two years now with my family. The products are great, which is why I chose the center. It really stops there. The lady in charge of billing is honestly not the brightest and worse, has a serious case of "know it all-itis". I have the best vision insurance on the market for my family, as well as a supplemental insurance that would cover co-pays so I'd have to pay nothing. For TWO YEARS, I've had to pay out of pocket $50 for glasses for my son. Prior to coming to Donelson, I've paid $10. And that's for EVERYTHING you can stick on a lens including Transitions! I kept asking this woman to check my insurance because it's wrong. Finally, after having to endure a debate (she's really unprofessional) she sees it's wrong in THEIR system....but of course, it was someone else's fault according to her. She doesn't know what she's doing and something as critical as medical billing shouldn't be left to someone who just graduated from an online course and does not understand PHI (she is loud and unprofessional, did I mention that?), ethics or how to read and check her work apparently. I'll find another eye care center with great products, but a more competent staff. Snuddy and ignorant is a bad combination for anyone.

I had a bad experience with the last pair of glasses and hoped my experience today would be better. The total for my frames and lenses came to $625. And that was after my insurance was applied. I can't afford that. I went to a competitor and the exact same lenses and frames I like even more were only $305. I will continue having my eye exam here. I love the Optimap. But I'll never buy glasses there again. I paid almost $700 for a pair of glasses two years ago that were crap. The lenses kept falling out and the side pieces kept coming undone. Very unhappy with product offered and the cost.

I was a patient here for a couple years because it was close to my office. Went there for my annual eye exam twice. Apparently you have to ask for both an exam and a contact fitting or they won't do both. Super inconvenient when it's time to reorder contacts and you find out your contact prescription is expired. The electronic system they use is not very good for contacting them. They have to print, scan, then email a PDF of a scan of a PDF instead of just emailing the original copy. Also, they seem really expensive. I noticed my bill was $300-$400 for my annual exam, which apparently didn't include my contact fitting. Not very convenient for those who like to get things done quick and efficiently.

I visited Donelson Eye Care about a year ago and though my experience wasn't terrible, it also wasn't what I was looking for and I was unimpressed. When I arrived they didn't have my appointment down, which I had made online. That's an understandable mistake as we can't always rely on technology and I understand there are glitches and they still saw me so that was good. I had to ask the doctor (Waymire) who performed my exam if my prescription changed. Generally when you go to the eye doctor they address that once they have examined you after all that's what you are there for. I was told that the assistant who was in the room would go over my eye care insurance with me and he did not. Before leaving I asked to get my glasses adjusted and the woman who did it did not even feel them around my ears or anything after adjusting them, which in my past experience whoever has adjusted my glasses they always feel for themselves to see if it feels right besides me just telling them. I will say the staff was friendly, however I was not impressed with my visit so I decided to go with a different eye doctor this year.

This place is AWFUL. Don't let the free coffee and "friendly" staff fool you! This place will rip you off and charge you extra fees that literally are nothing more than scams. I went to this place for the very first time with high expectations due to the positive reviews I read online. At first, the experience was everything I expected. The people were friendly, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the free apple cider I received put a smile on my face. None of that makes up for the bogus fee that I was charged, however. I was charged a $100 "premium" fee upon leaving the clinic. The eye exam I received was nothing special. I've had plenty of eye exams over the course of my life and this was literally identical to them all. My insurance plan covers an eye exam as well as a certain amount towards contacts or glasses. This place somehow found a way to milk $100 out of me by claiming that the eye exam I received was a "premium" exam. Upon leaving the clinic, I asked the receptionist what the charge was. She was unable to explain it. Her explanation was "Well, the doctor looked over your eye more thoroughly to check for any abnormalities." What?? No, this eye doctor did NOTHING out of the ordinary from any other eye exam I've ever received. I proceeded to ask the doctor herself what the charge was for. She also had no answer. She told me she had performed extra tests on me (without my permission) to "get a more thorough idea of what my eye looked like." Are you kidding me? This place is a total ripoff. I have NEVER been charged a fee like this. The fee was a complete scam to rip off a new customer. I am so disappointed. I recommend that you stay far far away from this place if you value your money and your dignity. Such a shame.

Everyone is extremely nice!! My first appt was 5/28/19 for an eye injury- my wait time was over an hour. Dr. Zimmerman was excellent & recognized I was looking for new optometrist. For my follow-up Fri 5/31 he suggested I see Dr. Waymire who was out of the office the day I was scheduled plus another wait of 30 minutes. Another doc saw me to say the eye was healing and sent me on my way. Very disappointing!

Very rude women who run the front desk. I wasn't greeted when I walked in and they just asked me what I wanted, threw a sign in sheet at me, and asked if anything changed since the last time I came in. I gave them my new insurance and they insisted the card was not current, which it was. Then they said my insurance doesn't cover vision anymore and argued with me over what was showing on her screen versus what was showing in mine. They insisted "pediatric vision" meant it was for adults, which then I corrected them and told them it meant it was for children. She argued with me about that as well. When I told her I didn't appreciate the rude attitude, she argued with me again telling me she was not being rude. Her response was, "thanks for that information." I was trying to be very cordial and they did not treat me like a patient that they cared for. Instead, they treated me like a child. Kylie was the main one who was rude. The other lady with an attitude was blonde and sitting to the far left of the desk. I have been a great patient of donelson eye care for years, but will now be taking my business elsewhere.

Over the weekend I had gotten something in my eye and I couldn't get it out. I was in need of some professional help quick. I called that morning and they were all booked up. The young lady transferred me to one of the techs and they worked me in. The tech did what he does and I left a very satisfied customer. The entire staff were very friendly and curtious. These people are quite literally the best! I was driving through Nashville on vacation, and had forgotten extra contacts in my home state of Illinois. Feeling slightly blind, I popped in to their store thinking I would have to pay for an entire eye exam. No way! They helped me request my current prescription from my eye doctor at home, and then were able to give me contacts without the need for a whole separate eye exam! I can't thank these people enough for their kindness and helpfulness. 100% would come here again. Highly recommend!!!

The best vision experience I have ever had as well as the support and staff helping to get my glasses just right. The staff also helped me pick out all my frames and they look very nice. These are the only glasses that I have ever actually been able to wear all day and SEE comfortably. I will also be getting several other pairs of glasses there. Their quality of frames, etc. are much better than the box stores and the prices for my progressive lenses are in line with other vision places. The doctors are very intelligent and take the time to listen and train you as well as the staff. They take care of you to make sure you are satisfied. The service is excellent. The experience is pleasant and I have always dreaded getting my vision checked and picking out new glasses. I can relax with this staff and trust their guidance. I have complete confidence in this office. It is my new "Vision Spa". The office is beautiful and the coffee is good too!

I am leaving the country in 1 week and needed my glasses within that timeframe. They worked with me to help make that possible and were very understanding. I had the worst problem going on with my eye, first night I went to the ER and of course they didn’t know what they were talking about and performing the excessive as not needed. I went to this eye doctor the next day ( called in and they were willing to see me) he knew what he was talking about after being there for 5 minutes! He knew the resolution and the kind of pain I was in. Immediately reacted and started fixing my issues. I left with a contact bandage on and a bunch of eye drops and had to get a prescription one as well. I finally could lay down and sleep. I followed up the next day with him again and progress was 150% from where I was. He knew what I needed once again the pain I was in and I picked up another precrsition for a daily eye drop from this point on to prevent this and also followed up 2 days later and was fully healed. He knew exactly what he was doing and I couldn’t of asked for any other doctor that’s better then him. The ladies at the front was so polite and respectful and very helpful. I loved everything about this place! Awesome job Team I will be coming back in the near future for follow ups!

I am VERY impressed with Donelson Eye Care! I was new to Nashville and needed to find a local doctor to follow up on eye care needs my previous ophthalmologist had identified. Dr. Waymire and team listened, asked their questions, ran tests, then explained my eye health situation in a way that made sure I really understood and had good space for questions. SO important, and unfortunately not universal in patient care--but Dr. Waymire rocked it! I also really appreciated not experiencing pressure to buy glasses at this appointment. I already have multiple pairs of glasses, and that's one thing that can feel uncomfortable at eye appointments I've been to at other offices. Donelson Eye Care has this great form that they gave me at registration where I could mark what my intentions were for the visit. I indicated that I didn't want to buy new glasses unless it was necessary (from a prescription standpoint). And since it wasn't, they even helped make a tweek to loosen some tension I was feeling on my existing frames. I left my appointment knowing where my eye health was at and feeling very cared for as a patient. Thank you Donelson Eye Care!

I checked my insurance billing online and for those 2 TEST on my glaucoma they are charging me for a doctor visit. hence 1 star for non honest billing practice. when I got there to have my eyes tested for vision loss due to my glaucoma the lady who did the test was kind of impatient and actually moved the machine while it was testing..... I informed them of this during the survey, they contacted me and had me come in again to retest ( free of charge they said) and I asked to look at the previous test. they did not show it to me. I seen no eye doctor either time and I had a different tech but....

This is my second visit to Donelson Eye Care and I have had an excellent experience both times. This time I went in with my 5 month old and everyone was so accommodating. The optometrist even held my baby while she was fussy and I was trying to get new contacts in my eyes. They also took short breaks while checking my eyes so I could talk to and reassure my baby. They also made sure that I knew all the cost and how much my insurance would cover before I got my exam which was very helpful.

Up until a week ago I would have recommend this company. It was easy to make appointments. There were friendly employees and they didn't harass me about dilution. This week, I saw heck to the NO! I had appointment 1 year ago and I just receive a bill for over $250 for a contact lens exam! WTH that a freaking car payment or an electric bill. These folks are tying to tell me, now, that I was not eligible for an exam at the time I came in after I was told they check my insurance and I was good. Kinda seems like someone dropped the ball on verifying insurance and I am being ask to pay for their incompetence! Who the heck dropped the ball on this? I'd like for them to be held responsible! My suggestion to any and everyone! Find another company or you could be looking at a $250 contact lens exam bill in a year!
