I was a customer for 15 yrs. A few months ago someone told me about great deals ordering glasses online. I asked for my pupillary distance and my vision script from Coventry Eye and was told that it would cost me $25 and they wouldn't see me if I ordered from somewhere besides them....I'm not even sure if they can legally do that. NO other eye dr charges their patients for their pd and script...and NO other eye dr tells you that if you order glasses from somewhere else they won't see you as a patient! I will never go back to Coventry Eye and I strongly suggest that anyone looking for eye care go anyplace else first...horrible ethics

Just terrible, so concerned with pressuring the customer into purchasing contacts or eye glasses from them that this company forgets that we are paying them first as a doctors service. Refused to send my prescription via fax or email claiming first that they couldn't send it because they dont have email... you dont have email in 2017. This either makes them liars or just totally incompetent. Stay away not worth your time. I've been a saleman for years and I know when im being jerked around by a company so they can add pressure to make the purchase from them.

After moving to Coventry from Westerly a year ago, I needed to find a new eye doctor in the area. After searching different eye doctors in Coventry. I decided to go with Coventry Eye Associates since they are located conveniently down the street from my work. I am so glad I did!! Unlike other eye doctors they have appointments past 4pm for people who work late like myself. The office staff as well as Dr. Rick and Dr. Tom are super welcoming and friendly. I purchased my contacts through the office last year and today and received a great deal on them! I highly recommend Coventry Eye Associates!

Well this excuse of an establishment is at it again. Some time over a year ago I was helped by some of the pushiest and most overbearing "Medical Professionals" that I have ever had the experience of working with. They are so obsessed with forcing their products on you that they forget what their primary purpose is TO BE A MEDICAL FACILITY. I went to their facility as a patient. I needed my eyes to be re-evaluated and my prescription updated. As a consumer I am well within my rights to seek products that are more reasonably priced without being made to look like a fool in front of other customers and flat out Lied to by their staff. (I don't even want to get into how incredibly over priced their products are) So now over a year later Dr. Richard Liner has reached out to me. It is embarrassing that it took them this long to reach out to a disgruntled customer. (not that I had any expectation they would) At first it seemed as though Dr. Liner was trying to make amends. However, as our conversation persisted it became clear he was interested in only two things. First; explaining how he and his staff had done nothing wrong and Second; having me remove the poor Google review I had left them last year. Now he has reached out to me yet again. This time the facade of making amends no longer present, he flat out tells me the hes giving me "one last chance" referring to me removing my google review and also that "he doesn't want to embarrass me on Google." These threats can be seen in the screen shots below of the voicemail he left me. So to Dr. Richard Liner CONGRATULATIONS you have somehow found a way to make me even more disgusted with your practice. ps. Beware of their financial practices. When you arrive for you appointment the secretary has you sign an essentially blank piece of paper. If you ask her what its for rest assure she''ll give you the detailed explanation of "it's for the financial stuff." And their deposits... non-refundable and non-transferable but don't worry after being uncomfortably pressured to "just leave a deposit" they'll be sure to leave that tidbit out.

Coventry eye care is wonderful. My kids and I have been coming here for years. The service is great and the doctors are amazing. Both doctors go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. They explain everything in detail so you know whats is happening. They are easy to talk to and professional. The optical center is amazing too. My kids and I are very happy and will be coming back next year for our annual checkups. Thank you :)

We absolutely love it here! The staff are so friendly and helpful. We chose this eye doctors office after moving to coventry in 2016. We then moved to Providence in 2018 and I refused to change our eye doctors office. I highly recommend them!

I was a patient and glasses customer there for over ten years. I never had a problem until last week when I called the office and asked for my pupillary distance, so I could buy a pair of glasses somewhere else. The office attempted to charge me a $25 fee. When I objected, I was told I needed to speak to the doctor. During our conversation Dr. Thomas liner told me, "If you don't buy glasses from us, then don't come back to this office." Not only is this poor treatment, it is a violation of Federal Law 456.2 (b) Separation of Examination and Dispensing, as posted on the RI Department of Health website. I am moving to a more ethical practice. Good riddance, Dr. Liner.

My boyfriend went here for ten years, even painted the owners house... poor thing showed up 6 minutes late for an appointment today and they told him they would not take him! We will NEVER go back to this place and highly suggest you don't either! Who treats loyal customers like that???!!! Very poor customer service in my opinion... it means a LOT to me how a person is treated and this is just plain UNACCEPTABLE. - update: i just learned that my poor boyfriend practically BEGGED to be seen, which he does not do! he is in desperate need of new glasses and waited weeks for this appointment to begin with. i'm shocked and disgusted.

I have been going to Coventry Eye Care for over 30 years! I love that Dr. Rick is personable and professional. When I have had problems with my vision especially trouble with migraines, they have gotten me in for an immediate appointment to rule out a problem with my eyes. The staff is always pleasant and kind. There is a great selection of eye wear and they never rush me to make choices. Dr. Rick makes suggestions but never pushes me about my choice. Always great experience and I would recommend them to anyone for great quality care without gimmicks. Thanks Dr. Rick!

I have been going to this facility for 10 years. My daughter has been complaining that she has had eye pain and could not see out of her new prescription that she had just gotten two months ago. When they were informed of this a month ago, I was told to come back in two weeks. They were unable to solve this issue, but told us “they had used the same prescription from 2015”. Now they want to wait another week to see my daughter. Staff was unpleasant and not compassionate to the patient. Unprofessional!! I decided to go to a different eye doctor and found out the prescription was wrong and then actually had my daughters head measured for her glasses for the first time since 2015. Hmm, I wonder what the problem is with this facility.

Why make an appointment! I had a 2:15 PM Appointment today. Apparently, the receptionist did not pull my card so the eye doctor would know I am the next patient in the "Q". I left the premises after waiting 45 minutes. I fired this doctor and have made another eye appointment with another eye doctor. Beware be aware!

Dr. Rick is the best! He is friendly and professional to all his patients. He takes the time to listen to your concerns and that's really important to me as a customer. There are a lot of eye care stores around that have all kind of gimmicks to get you to go to their store but when it comes to my eyes, I want only the best and the care I receive at Coventry Eye Care is the best! Consistent quality care for all my needs!

Had a great experience with the Coventry Eye Associates. I had an appointment cancelled due to a family emergency at the Chariho branch, and was able to get an appointment at the Coventry branch the next day. They were very accommodating and friendly. Office easy to find, clean, and efficient with the different tests. Not having vision covered through insurance I needed to pay for my exam out of pocket, which was completely fine and more than reasonable ($99 for an exam when quoted between $175-$250 at other eye places). I saw Dr. Thomas Liner and he was great, very professional and fully explained what he was doing and what my results were. There were plenty of different glasses options when I needed to get new frames/lenses. My appointment was on a Friday and my glasses were ready on Wednesday, not even a week later. I would highly recommend this office.

Last week I came to this office as a new patient, based on word of mouth recommendations. Everyone in the office was friendly and professional...from the receptionist to the doctor to the optician.
