My family and I have been doing business with Dennis for decades. They are arguably the best in the area.

The best opticians around!! For complex eye problems Newtown Optical is the place to go!! I had numerous eye issues that required a number of different lenses and Dennis was great in helping solve the problem. He spent numerous hours with my ophthalmologist to come up with a solution.

I used to price shop for glasses and go to different opticians for the best frames. I've been virtually everywhere. But after my multiple excellent experiences with Newtown Optical, This is the now only place I go to anymore. I like wearing glasses, and as I get older (in my 40s) I get the good kind. and i am a good loyal customer if treated well with a good product and service. and boy does newtown optical deliver. I don't get paid to say this, but I depend on reviews also and feel I should share great places with others. I also do word of mouth for these guys. They don't have an optometrist so you don't get nudged into having an unnecessary eye exam every time. They give you a list of local optometrists if they feel you need one. sometimes Dennis checks your eyes right there and sends you back to the optometrist if he feels you need the prescription adjusted. I doubt any other place does anything close to that kind of service. It all started when my ray bans that I paid around $350 for at another optician in newtown broke about 4 years ago. When the side piece fell off and I took it back to be repaired, I was told the repair could not be done and it was out of warranty and offered to sell me a new pair. I was like wow, theses guys just want to sell me expensive glasses, nothing else to offer. So I went to a few other places that said the same thing. Here's our selection, take your pick. Dennis at newtown optical offered me a real choice. (He's about the kindest, friendliest optician I've ever met. He's from the old school. Quality product, Unsurpassed customer Service breeds loyalty). Anyway, he said that the side piece on my broken ray bans wouldn't match perfectly, but it would be close enough. Then he fixed it and charged me a whopping $10 for about an hour of work! when I went to pay, he waived the fee! I was sold. I looked around the store and was amazed to see the selection. Other places nudge you to buy what's in stock, but Dennis and mike show you the catalog of the frames that can be ordered in different colors and styles from the various vendors. YOU decide which ones you want. If you're in a bind, mike will fix your broken ones while you decide. Then i started telling people. I brought in a guy I know that needed glasses and is on disability. He had very little to spend on a new frame and glasses. I asked Dennis if he could help the poor guy. These guys set him up with a beautiful new pair for less than $100, frames and lenses. It's no surprise to me they have a loyal following and word of mouth brings customers. I wish someone had told me earlier. That's why I'm writing this review. check my profile, I hardly write any. I drop glasses, lose them, roll over them in my sleep. etc. the problem is worse when I'm out of town traveling. I call up mike or Dennis and they make my problem their priority. Dennis faxes my script (that I brought in from a young new local optometrist they barely heard of) to a chain place in Phoenix AZ a couple years ago to get an emergency repair when I drove over my beautiful expensive pair. no problem, happy to help. freaking amazing. They actually form a bond and care about the customers. sometimes I want bare bones, sometimes I want the nice fancy frames.. Or for the backup pair, they'll tune it up. They work within my budget. they even let me take a pair of frame home for a few days just to try them out, no deposit. just trusted me because I'm a repeat customer. stop in and see if I'm exaggerating in any way. then send me a thank you note.
