These people left me on hold for 6 mins just to make an appointment and the hung up on me. I tried calling back and they kept hanging up the phone. If that's how they treat you now imagine going in to the office..

Apparently they don't know what kind of patients their doctors see. I made an appointment for my daughter who needed to see an Ophthalmologist. I go through the hassle of leaving work, getting her out of school, and taking her over there only to wait around for 20 minutes and then be told that their doctor wont see her and she has to go somewhere else because the doctor isn't the right specialty. Someone could have called. Thanks so much for wasting my time completely. Get your act together. This just shows absolute disrespect for other people's time.

I have been going to Berks Eye for years and have always been pleased with the staff's friendliness and the high level of care I receive. This past year I required cataract surgery and Dr Tellez and his staff were very considerate of my fears and explained everything in language I could understand, answered all my questions and put no pressure on me to male a decision, Dr Tellez and his staff were very compassionate. I would recommend him and the staff at the Surgery Center without hesitation.

I have been seeing Dr. Tellez . He is keeping a watch on my eye pressure. He is very thorough and takes the time to answer my questions. Both my wife and I are always able to get appointments that suit us in a timely manner and the staff is always pleasant. The offices are clean and modern. The staff is is well educated and everyone works together to make this a great place. All of your eye needs can be met here in one place: exams, tests, procedures and eye ware.

Nice Doctors, nice clean office but not good at explaining co-pays or deductibles. I clearly ask questions before been seen they say I was fine with my insurance and then I received I bill in the mail. When I called the billing department I ask about the bill they said they didn't know how much I had to pay until insurance pays what they were supposed to pay. As far as I know it's their responsibility to let me right away my part of the bill. I was seen as an emergency and I have been charged with a full eye exam, when the dr told me he couldn't perform a full exam and also charge for an emergency exam. I am not happy with this situation so any new patients beware of this situation. Get information before you pick any type of health care facility. If you don't want to deal with later fees.

Berks Eye has done a great job taking care of my daughter and her husband. They both had eye surgery done and had excellent results. I've purchased my last two pairs of eye glasses there and both were really good. There was a large selection of glasses to chose from and the prices were reasonable. The staff was both knowledgeable and courteous to me, and made sure I was satisfied with my glasses before I left. If you are looking for a quality facility, I highly recommend Berks Eye.

I saw Dr Izzo with the request that he help improve my vision, thinking that Lasik surgery was what I needed. I was wearing bifocal lens glasses and my vision was slowly worsening. After his exam he explained that I had cataracts and that lens replacement surgery would be my best option now and for the future. I am a dentist and getting the best possible result was critically important to me as my livelihood depends on excellent vision. Prior to the procedure I had an exhaustive list of questions and concerns. Dr Izzo was awesome as he patiently answered all my questions to relieve my anxiety. He recommended multifocal replacement lens for me , explaining that , although they are not right for every patient, that I was a good candidate. The advantage is that they enable improved distance AND close up vision. The procedure was easier than I could have ever imagined. My eyes were done one week apart. He and his staff are most professional and friendly. The best part is that now, except for my loupes for close-up dental work, I don't wear any glasses. I can read the fine print, I can see the dashboard to drive and I can see distances. Truly there is not a day that goes by that I don't think about what a significant, life changing event this was, and I am grateful to Dr Izzo for both his patience and skill in providing this treatment for me. I have and will continue to refer my friends to Dr Izzo for their vision needs.

Amazing staff. I've been suffering with a rare eye problem for 5 years and nobody could figure out what it was. Dr. Calder got to work immediately. Set me up with the rhaeumatolgist there Dr. Brauner. Dr Brauner did thorough eye exams and told me exactly what I had going on. This was my 2nd visit to them and it's so amazing the results I got in that short time compared to Progressive where I went for a little over 5 years with no results. Only gave a 4 due to waiting. I was there 3 hours each time. I suggest dont make any other plans for the day you have a appointment here. Other then that, I would highly recommend them.

Went there for contacts and new lenses for my eye glasses. . They are a little expensive ,but I am quite happy with my contacts even though they where $200.00 plus what ever the insurance paid for the visit. The eye doctor there did (in my layman's point of view) a thorough examination . I was told it would be a little over a week for my contacts to arrive because of my astigmatism. 2 WEEKS later I get a call my contacts are in and I need to schedule an appointment for the fitting. Okay, while I was on the phone I asked" if the lenses for my glasses are in" and she told me " I don't know", I said than who would? "We will have optical call you ... No call. ..So,I show up to my appointment for my contact fitting (another $50.00) and while I was waiting I asked about the lenses for my glasses. The receptionist said, "ask the optical department when my contact fitting is over". I sat there in the waiting room for 20 minutes watching the one person in optical stare into space so I just went over and asked .WOW, he could not have been more impersonal. "Okay,I'll look" then he disappears for awhile and said "they are on back order." Okay, when will they be in? "We will call you and let you know." It's going on a month now and no call....Between missing work ( because of their hours of operation not open on Sat) and out of pocket money even though I have an eye care plan ( which isn't their fault ) a pair of contacts and new lenses for my glasses has cost me well over $1000.00 ! Between the lack of communication between the staff and just plain poor customer service with the optical department is why 3 stars and not open Sat . The plus side is WHEN it was done got glasses and contacts it was done right.

Physicians are terrific, but scheduling is horrendous, and in my last visit there I had a 2-hour waiting experience with about 7 minutes of direct care. No apology, no explanation - at any point along the way. I will be going elsewhere for care. I get emergencies - I am a health care provider - but I also know patients deserve transparency and courtesy. I got neither.

Dr Izzo did great with my Lasik surgery, I went from barely seeing to better than 20:20, along with clearing up my Dry eyes with state of the art technology. Always above the curve, Excellent job by the Dr. and the staff!!!!

The first time I went for my scheduled eye exam as a new patient, they told me I was no where in the system and was not scheduled for an appointment (despite the fact I called in and made one weeks in advance). I was late to work and had to go at a later appointment that day. Dr. Luckey rushed through my appointment. I went back a week or so later to get my lenses switched out and they messed up yet again. I was there 45 minutes just to drop off a frame. I am never one to complain or write bad reviews, but I will not go back here again.

Berks eye is the best facility around for lasik. Dr. Izzo is an expert at what he does and made me feel comfortable the whole time in what can be a nerve wracking procedure. I'm still seeing great after some time and cannot express enough how grateful I am to him and the office as a whole.

I got Lasik done here. I looked at a couple places and I'm glad I decided to go here. Dr. Izzo is great! Granted you aren't going to leave feeling you have a new best friend, but if you want someone that knows what he is doing and has a team behind him that is just as good, this is the place! He is a perfectionist! It isn't the cheapest I've found, but if someone is going to laser your eyes...I think there are better places to save money! I had bad vision, like -5.5 and -6. Slight astigmatism in both eyes. 3 months later I'm 20/25 in both eyes and getting better every appointment! Took longer than expected but my prescription was pretty bad. Very Happy with the results and Dr. Izzo.

I'd give negative stars if I could! Not only did they refuse to give me an appointment because I didn't have an insurance number at my fingertips, they also hung up on me! As it turns out, my insurance company does everything online and all they had to do was look it up! Extremely rude receptionist!!!!

My whole family switched to Berks Eye when my our old eye dr went out of business. Berks Eye staff were courteous and friendly. We have dealt with three of the doctors and all were friendly, knowledgeable and very thorough. Hugh selection of frames as well. This is my first time in bifocals and I was very happy with the guidance received. My husband was new to glasses and was pleased with all of the assistance he received as well.
