Worst experience of my life with a doctor's office of any type. Here's my experience so you all can hopefully avoid the same scenario. Called to make an appointment on a Tuesday for Thursday. An hour later the staff call back and confirm my appointment (forgetting we had just talked) and reconfirm the details and verify their 48 hour cancellation policy. No biggie I need my eyes fixed. Thursday morning 9am, 5 hours before my appointment. So sorry we need to cancel. Next opening? Next Thursday... great. Set it up, if that's the best we can do. Now I asked about that 48 hour policy and if the $35 charge that I'd have gotten if I was sick could be applied to my bill given the Dr is now sick and cannot make our appointment. Their staff said they were unsure and would check with the doctor. Now it's Saturday, the Dr just called me and canceled the appointment saying that me asking about that discount was a 'red flag' and would be refusing service. Didn't realize asking for equal treatment was a warning sign. I want a Dr that cares about their patients health and time. Maybe I was just unlucky, but I personally see that $35 cheapness as a big red flag.

I've been a customer of Uptown Optical since 2014, and would not even consider going anywhere else. They are the best in the business as far as I'm concerned. They excel not only on the examination side but are excellent at helping me choose the right pair of frames. They are also very helpful on follow-up visits for adjustments, cleaning, etc. If I had to buy 100 more pairs of glasses in my lifetime (and given my tendency to break or lose glasses, it's not impossible), I would buy every single one of them at Uptown Optical.

The Doctor does a good job of finding the correct prescription for your glasses, the problem comes when you order glasses from them, they are unable to deliver. I paid $765 for a pair of glasses, they told me I would receive them in 1 to 2 weeks. As of today, it has been 40 days and I still have not received the glasses. They refuse to return my money. They have essentially stolen my money.

Dr Friberg is amazing! Incredibly thorough and knowledgeable - she helped me work through some contact lens issues and was so great about helping me to understand the reasons behind her recommendations. Thanks to her, I transitioned from a lens that was causing me some significant problems to one that works just great. On top of all that, she’s friendly and personable. I definitely recommend her!

I visited for the first time today for a check-up and expecting to get glasses. I was very impressed with the atmosphere and all of the staff. The medical assistant, eye doc, and the optician were all very helpful and great about explaining why certain things mattered or what they were doing. Everyone was very friendly. I appreciated a supply of locally made frames, too.

Dr. Friberg is super thorough and knowledgeable. I came into her office super flustered with my contact lenses and looking at options to get me glasses free. I was already wearing daily contacts and my eyes were super dry and the lenses always felt uncomfortable. I was introduced to CRT lenses by Dr. Friberg and they are amazing! I had no idea there was a type of contact lens you wear to sleep and in the mornings upon removal you are able to see. I am a few weeks into this and I am SUPER pleased. I am now glasses and contact lens free in the daytime since the CRT lenses work their magic while I sleep. I am very pleased with my experience at Uptown EyeCare. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They genuinely care about their patients. Best eye clinic ever!

I hadn't been to see an eye doctor in quite some time and trying to find one that was open the hours I needed was proving to be difficult. Luckily I found Uptown EyeCare online. I have to say this business has the friendliest, most professional staff imaginable. Dr Friberg is extremely nice and explained my eye condition to me very clearly. Thanks to her my condition cleared up and I was able to then get a new pair of glasses that I'm very happy with. Even my wife was impressed with how helpful the staff is. She was waiting on me in the reception area when some tourists wandered in off the streets, one of them had lost their contact lenses, didn't have a prescription and needed replacements. The staff helped them with their problem with no hesitation, to me, that's the kind of helpful and trustworthy people you want looking after your eyes! I would fully recommend Uptown Eyecare to anyone who wants professional, caring people to do business with.

Uptown Eyecare & Optical delivers highly trained folks from the front desk to Dr. Friberg. As a PDX patient since 2014, I now travel from the San Juan Islands for yearly checkups because the level of care really impresses me. Clear education on my vision issues notwithstanding, I enjoy their warm and personable approach extended by Morgan, Lori, Dr. Friberg, and Allison. I feel like a member of an extended family since they remember me and greet me when I walk through the door.
