When I was looking for the perfect place to get glasses, I found out Columbus Eyeworks wasn't the place for me. I had to walk up to associates who were sitting at their desk, before they asked me if they could help me out. I responded, "Of course, I'm curious why I should shop here." After one associate rolled her eyes, and scoffed at me, the other associate replied "Because we're in an awesome location, and we have stylish glasses." I was then told to browse the store on my own, then let them know if there's anything I like, or to write it down myself incase I wanted to come back. When I go into any retail space as a consumer, it's imperative to be greeted by an associate who's eager to help me, who is in touch with the company culture, knows how to sell their brand beyond the fact that they are in the short north and have overpriced eyewear, and an associate who is standing because standing literally shows the associate is available and respects you on a basic level of human interaction. I proceeded to browse through their glasses and saw typical assortment of overpriced Ray Bans, Polo Ralph Lauren, etc... but I wasn't that impressed with their selection. No one seemed interested in making a sale.. I didn't have a prescription at that time but thats not anything to discourage someone from offering me assistance. Any associate worthy of their job would have insisted on taking my information, the styles I preferred, and would have offered to follow up with me if I needed them to. A week later I went to lease crafters and spent 1/3 of the cost to include an eye exam, lenses and frame for the cost of frames would have cost me at Columbus Eyeworks.... Just to be clear cost WAS NOT the reason I shopped elsewhere.

Beautiful glasses, frequently get complements on every pair that I have purchased there. More importantly, the docs are thorough and knowledgeable. Dr. Koch has helped my family identify some minor and in some cases serious vision issues that were missed by others. Dr. Hickey is just as amazing. You can buy a pair of Prada frames many places, so I come here for eye care from intelligent, thoughtful, and respectful professionals.

My family and I have been going here for quite a while. I am highly disappointed in the low reviews because I cannot believe that anyone could ever be treated poorly. Dr. Koch and his staff has always been polite and very patient with me. As long as this office is open and I can't see clearly, I will always be a patient/customer lol. ☺️

Called and was given an appointment the next day. When I arrived, I was helped promptly, Doctor Hickey was courteous, and answered all my questions as the exam went on (as this was my first exam ever, I had kind of a lot). Lastly, when cluelessly trying to pick out frames, the wonderful Carla lead me around, make a ton of suggestions, and help me figure out what did and didn't work on me. I had a wonderful experience, and will definitely go back for my yearly exams. Update: Went back in around a week later to pick up my glasses and Carla again was a wonderful help, making adjustments on the spot, and just generally helping me get used to how I was wanting to wear my new glasses. The entire process from calling for an appointment, to finally picking up my glasses was an amazing, painless process, and I don't plan on going anywhere else for my exams/glasses.

I have been going here for 4 years. They are amazing at suggesting great glasses styles for my face. Even if they weren't styles I would have picked, they ended up looking great on me and I would get all sorts of compliments. Their frames are expensive because they carry high end brands. I have never regretted paying extra for glasses and sunglasses because they last twice as long as discount frames. The only time I had to go back to have my frames adjusted were after I was in a car accident. The glasses flew off my face and were only a little bit bent. and are on my face ALL THE TIME.

I love both Dr. Koch and Dr. Hickey--but the front staff, specifically Todd Synder, is rude. Todd was rude, not at all helpful, and acted like I was keeping him from doing something more important.

Don’t recommend. Mall eye doctors are better. Had my exam today and was given a new prescription and a pair of contacts to trial run. My prescription before the newly prescribed one was not great so when he asked if it looked good I was like uhh it looks the same lol everything looked normal and when I put in a new prescription contact in at first everything is a little funny until my eyes properly adjust. It’s always been like that and then once adjusted, been fine and I can see good. Leaving the place I realized I couldn’t read any street signs or license plates and looking at my phone it’s blurry on my screen when I type!! Absolutely awful. Way worse than the prescription I came in with to get fixed. And I answered all the questions on the eye exam properly of which one was more clear. How they came up with a prescription way off to give me is beyond me. Would’ve went back but wasn’t able to because I was going straight to a job interview and didn’t have the time. Overall, waste of time and money and a waste of a pair of my original prescription contacts that were way better.. very disappointed. Now my problem of worsened eyesight that I’ve been dying to get fixed is even worse.

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Koch for a few years now and I think he's great. Besides doing the examination, he also listens to what you have to say and can make adjustments or suggestions accordingly. The frames selection is very good. From conservative to completely unique, with lots inbetween. I wanted something that would stand out a bit but not be completely out there. Their selection made that easy. Also, they even special ordered a frame for me that I liked but they didn't have in stock. The front staff are all very nice and knowledgeable. I've interacted with a number of them over the last few years and they are all very easy to work with. They won't push to upsell you something you don't want or need. So no unnecessary pressure. They will help you out however they can.

Just had my eye exam earlier this evening, and I can't recommend this place enough. Everyone is ridiculously friendly. Dr. Koch went the extra mile to get my prescription to 20/20, and Todd Snyder helped me pick out a couple of frames in my price range that I would have otherwise overlooked. I unfortunately had some issues with my insurance -- my exam was in-network but the frames / lenses weren't; however, even then, Todd spent about 15 minutes working with me to deliver a detailed quote and estimate roughly how much it would cost if I shopped around at other locations. Fantastic service all around. Even if I can't get my prescription filled at Columbus Eyeworks with my new insurance provider going forward, I will absolutely go back on a yearly basis for the eye exam. Thank you!

Great experience! There wasn't anyone else in the office when i went in so I had instantaneous service. The Dr. was all business and got me through the exam pretty quick. I spent way more than I intended to when I woke up this morning but it's not the offices fault I like nice things. Come with me if you want to live but more importantly, I'll be back!

A guest came to the front desk at the Hilton Columbus Downtown asking if we could fix his glasses while he was in a meeting. Called ahead and was able to get a walk-in. Fantastic value for the work done and Orie (sp?) did an amazing job fixing the frame. Nice selection of sunglasses too!

I've been going to Columbus Eyeworks for a couple years now. I have terrible eyesight and they are always very patient with me during the vision test. I have never seen Dr. Koch, always see Dr. Hickey or previously the female doctor who was there a few years ago. The staff is friendly, very knowledgeable. I agree with one of the other posters that sometimes you have to wait a little bit when you have an appointment, but the place is always busy, and I don't mind. The doctor isn't rushed when he's treating you, he takes the time to answer any questions, Dr. Hickey is extremely friendly and chats while he's doing your exam so it doesn't feel like a sterile eye appointment. I have recommended Columbus Eyeworks to everyone I know and will continue to do so. Thank you to the team at Columbus Eyeworks for the awesome service.
