This is such a charming optical shop inside Trolley Square. It's on the 2nd floor close to The Old Spaghetti Factory. There is quite a variety of different styles leaning towards round shaped frames. Owner has made a couple of eye glass cases made out of wine corks which I thought was very creative. On display is the original "eye ware props" for the movie "Blade Runner" designed, and made by the owner. Stop in a take a look at the many unique designs.

I wish I had had a better experience here. The store is lovely and full of charm and their glasses selection is wonderful. The service however was lacking. Not only was the salesman cold but he was inattentive and uninterested. He did not greet us when we arrived and looked bothered Everytime we asked to look at something in a case. We were the only people in the store the entire time so it's not as if it were too busy. It was disappointing. We did leave with two new pairs of glasses because, like I said, their selection is beautiful. So it's worth coming if you don't bother feeling like a pest everytime you would like to look at something or have a question! Has potential to be the best store ever. Just need to work on their service.

After flying into Utah, I accidentally broke my glasses. One of the screws holding an arm had fallen out and I desperately needed my glasses for a business meeting the next day. After a quick Google I found this place was only a mile down the round. Not only did the owner fix my glasses there and then, he fixed them for free and wouldn't take a tip either! He even cleaned my glasses and handed them back to me within minutes of me arriving there. 10/10 would recommend!

I visited the shop on a Sunday just because it was the only place open for eyeglass repair. John took care of me, and repaired my (very broken) glasses quickly for no charge. I asked him a few questions about the frames on sale and he was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. The entire atmosphere the business was exceedingly professional. They have a large variety of frames, and crafts their own lenses. I will definitely be back soon to buy a new pair.

The store is quaint and the salesman was very kind and helpful. I would have continued with this company EXCEPT they lost my $500+ lenses with nothing more than a "sorry". No offer to search until they find them, just simply "sorry". They must have felt that since they were replacing my lenses I wouldn't need the old ones. My Rx only changed slightly and they were a custom designed lens that I wanted to keep and could have used in a bind.

My first visit was excellent. Wick did a great job helping me pick my first pair of glasses. My second visit to pick up my glasses was much different. It was near closing time and Wick was not there. But Gregor said come on in. He made me feel rushed and didn't check to see if my new glasses fit until I asked him to, when he was showing me the door. I told Wick about it and, surprisingly,he made me feel like he didn't believe me. He did offer to check them himself.

Great experience picking out a new pair of glasses. Extremely helpful and great products. They rotate stock often, so check back if you are interested in something new or don't fall in love with something immediately. I ordered my pair and a month later came in and fell in love with some others. I'll have to wait until next year to pull the trigger again! These guys also make the process so simple--once you pick out your frames, you are minutes away from ordering the highest quality lenses you've ever looked through. I wear progressives, and the viewing area of these is much larger than the previous (what I thought were high quality) glasses I had. It was easy to get accustomed to my new prescription.

Knowledgeable and friendly staff with frame styles not seen at most opticians. This was my third try at no-line bifocals. The first two came from chain stores and I took them back. These from The Spectacle are by far the best glasses I have ever had. Highly recommended.

I took my pair of prescription Ray Ban eyeglasses in for a simple adjustment and the techincan cracked one of the temple pieces without acknowledging or admitting to me he broke it. I didn't realize this happened until the following morning. Unfortunately I can't find a replacement part and can't afford to spend another $500 for prescription glasses. Not a happy customer!

My glasses got stepped on and one hinge was crushed so my wife and daughter took the glasses to The Spectacle to get them repaired. Not only did they return the nearly-destroyed glasses to a wearable condition, they also cleaned them up nice...i know that seems pretty standard, but I didnt even buy the glasses at this store. This was our first visit. What's more, the decor really impressed my teen daughter, who isnt typically impressed by anything...she couldnt stop telling me how cool she thought the design of the shop and selection of glasses were, and they were very pleased with the friendly, expert service they got.

My 20 year old frames have new life. No one else would replace the lenses for fear that they might break the frames. I couldn't find comparable frames that I liked. Spectacle was able to figure out my complicated rimless frames, clean them, and place the thinnest new lenses in them. I can see! Fast service too. Thank you!

The Spectacle is truly the best store in Salt Lake for both unique glasses and excellent service. I bought a pair of glasses online (always risky) and they didn’t fit right on my face - the prescription, while the same as my other glasses, made my eyes hurt. I walked into the shop to se what could be done, and Mr. Cottam fixed my glasses perfectly in a matter of minutes! I’ll never go anywhere else to get my glasses. I’m truly impressed!

I visited the shop to get a pair of sunglasses adjusted. Travis helped us. He is friendly, super knowledgeable and skillful. He not only adjusted the glasses for free — we offered to pay and he passed, saying the repair was trivial — but also expanded my understanding of customized sunglasses. I would recommend this family store to those who are interested to get something unique and interesting.

Black Friday the biggest shopping day of the year. I decided to drive into Salt Lake City to Trolley Square specifically to go to the sister store of The Spectacle - The Steam Punk Spectacle. Upon my arrival there was a sign in the window stating that the owner was upstairs in his other shop The Spectacle. The sign listed a number and said to give it a call and they would come right down to open the shop. I called the number, the owner answered and told me he was short staffed at The Spectacle and couldn't come open his other store for me. Super talented and unique items in that store but poor customer service and lack of business sense. All this on the biggest shopping day of the year! Too bad Trolley Square allows for him to do this. Little did John know that I was ready to spend hundreds of dollars on office decor.

When my glasses completely bent, it was imperative that I had them fixed as soon as possible for an upcoming speech and debate tournament. Only one eyewear store was open on Sunday, however, and that was The Spectacle. Not only was the man incredibly nice and respectful, but he also fixed my glasses within minutes and even refused my five dollar tip. I also bought some great sunglasses from him as well; the process was clean, efficient, and the product itself is more than worth the price. I would recommend The Spectaclr to anyone within the area seething for quality goods and services in the eyewear department.

These are the absolute best glasses I have bought in my life. John helped me pick out a pair of frames that worked with my features. He also put quality lenses in. I had to get them slightly adjusted the next day because they were falling off the bridge of my nose, but I walked in and within 5 minutes they fit perfectly thanks to his son's quick and efficient help. My wife and I have been going to The Spectacle for our glasses for the last four years and love them. They have a great selection of quality frames - the pair they helped me pick and fitted for me are fantastic - my favorite pair of glasses over the last 40 years by far! They have lasted so well that when I had my recent exam and needed new lenses, I simply had them put new lenses in the same frame. Wick provides excellent customer service and is very helpful in selection and fitting. If you are looking for a quality pair of glasses, I highly recommend The Spectacle.

Visited this store specifically eyeing Randolph Engineering sunglasses. Wick took the time to walk through all the details of the frames, his own lenses and other possible options. Very educated gentlemen that knows a lot about this industry, sunglasses and the science behind them. Needless to say I am beyond happy with the new Randolph Aviators I purchased with his grey polarized lens. I highly recommend The Spectacle.
