Well run practice. However, they do not take my insurance any longer. I really hate having to find another Dr.

Torin Saccoccio

Had a great experience. The manager Greta came and spoke to me and really inspired great confidence in this business. I will be returning for all my eye care needs

Linda Welborn

I had a contact lens/glasses exam with Dr. Couch. I found her to be very friendly and knowledgeable. She took the time to explain my eyes, their workings, and why certain things affected them as they did. I feel she went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I would highly recommend her as well as this practice itself to my family and friends.

Found Dr. Jeff Board (Raleigh Eye Center). Took my son there. Fortunately they got me next day appointment. He needed surgery which they scheduled same day. Total cost less than $200. Dr. Board was polite, guided and took care of problem promptly. Didn't request follow up (means just more $$$) unless we had some issues. Compare that with my experience at Duke Eye Center: Referred to Duke Eye Center by the pediatrics office. My complaints for Duke Eye Care: 1) Appointments are just too far out. 2) The first doctor couldn't even diagnose. Cost $255. He referred to surgeon 3) Surgeon looks at it and says need open surgery. His visit fee $390. Surgery cost $12k+. Poor response from the office, admin for insurance till the last day.

Dr. Alice Lin is one of a kind. I recommend her as a physician, as a surgeon, and as a mom. She takes such excellent care of her patients, she has amazing surgical skill and talent, impeccable clinical judgment and experience, and an incredible bedside manner. If you need a pediatric ophthalmologist or a pediatric eye doctor for your most precious little one, she is the one for you.

Rusty Foss

Awesome place. Very friendly treated our family like their own. Highly recommend this place . awesome doctor , Dr. Board was the best really spoke to us respectful and let you know what was going on.

Shastine Lee

The building was super confusing to navigate and once I finally got to the correct place they were not the friendliest. There were other patients waiting for about 30mins before me that had not been checked in. Just as I got up to leave they called my name. The rest of the visit was an avg experience at best. My primary dr. referred me but I will not be back next year.

Joe Belanger

Dr. Wrzosek is the man! Very knowledgeable, patient, and supportive. Was my eye doctor for a couple years, then suggested I do the PRK eye corrective procedure. He performed it and was a comforting, consistent role before, during, and after it. I see him once a year now and have 20/10 vision!! He is always willing to do whatever he can to help a patient out. Highly recommend!

Connor McCandless

absolutely terrible. staff don't seem to understand that a 1:30 appointment should start at 1:30, not 3:30. absolutely ridiculous. worst eye center ever.

Laurie Ferebee Carlton

The receptionist at the front desk of Dr. Beards office, IVONNE, is so unbelievably rude. She needs to find another job. And Dr. Beards has no patience with children. I will NEVER go back.

It would be unfair to say that "everyone" should be fired who deals with patient service. There are nearly 40 employees at the Raleigh location alone and I am certain you did not meet with all of them. The majority of the employees pride themselves on exemplary patient care and it shows. Keep up the kind and professional care Raleigh Eye Center!

Carroll Willis

I only had to wait a few minutes after signing in at the desk before I was escorted to the examining room for my eye exam. All the folks were very helpful and the exam went well. I would highly recommend Dr. Kancherla as she gave me an excellent eye exam and explained the procedure very well. As a result I had cataract surgery and that produced an excellent outcome, thanks Dr. Kancherla!

Jamm West

This is the doctor's visit you DON'T want. If there is any question about whether you matter .... forget it. Every time (6 times) I've been there, I've never had to waitLESS than an hour past my appointment time in the FIRST waiting room. Then they move you to another waiting room after the nurse asks you a few questions, and you end up there for usually another 45 minutes to an hour, before you ever see the doctor. Then, if you have to schedule surgery...well, I've been calling for 11 days, and I still haven't gotten to speak to the person that makes those appointments. If you ask for the office manager to complain about it, that is another "please leave a message at the tone" recordings, and you might get a call back in a week or so. This office is a nightmare. Every time I've gone there, the people in the waiting rooms are really angry before they ever leave. I'm not going to put myself through it anymore. You have been warned.

Caroline Walker

Referred to them for a second opinion. After being told they were booked a month out, I endured painful styes for weeks in both my eyes to secure the appointment. Dr. Johnson was clearly annoyed I had to bring my son with me, who was fussy while we were waiting. She was snappy and had no interest in addressing the prevention of my ocular rosacea, just wanted to tell me how to reactively treat them. She had zero bedside manor, didn't care to listen to any of my concerns. Made me feel like a terrible mother for wanting to take an antibiotic to address my condition. I won't be back.

Robert Eagle

Excellent experience. Staff (Ashley in particular) was very professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient.

sharlene deklerk

Everyone including the doctor were extremely unfriendly. I would never recommend this practice to anyone. A very disappointing experience.

Christopher Jackson

I came in for an appointment two weeks ago for an eye exam. The staff was extremely rude, especially lady at the front desk. I showed up 20 mins early, and was not seen until 1 hour after. I was told to "wait my turn" several times when people who came in after me were being seen first. I will never come back to this place.

Jamica Roberson

Amanda C.(Asst. Optamoligist) disrespected me in front of my children. I returned to the office 2 days after having bloody eye lids and headaches to let them physically see what happened to my eyes as a result of my visit there. I could've called but the usual procedure if your experiencing problems after a healthcare visit is to return. The checkin/out personnel seemed to care about my symptoms So she called Amanda to assist my concerns (who wasn't the one who put any drops in my eyes nor was she present during the administration of the eye solution). She was calm initially but inclined her voice while explaining my health in the lobby area and front desk of the establishment where customers and the checkin/out personnel were. She spoke to me as if I did not know my body even after I showed her my bloody eyelids. We exchanged words about my concerns and she denied all evidence of my issues. She said the drops was not the reason but my previous diagnosis of dry eye was the reason after I told her I do not have any vision problems. I did not come in expecting an argument or excuse all I wanted was for the problem to be recorded in my records (as I explained several times) so that I could receive a different eye solution on my next visit. Instead I received poor customer service and a disrepectful hand and smile pointing to the door exit without a question of further assistance or solution. My children (ages 5&10) asked me why did she smile and point to the door (while the concern was never concluded). I explained she asked us to leave because she didn't care to acknowledge my eye problems the solution caused.

Lauren Edwards

The exam time fit my schedule, and I didn't have to wait for an appointment. The exam didn't take long, and I'm pleased with the service I received. The staff was pleasant, and Dr. Wrzosek did a great job being patient and taking his time when responding to my concerns. He is one of the few doctors that I've seen anywhere that genuinely cares about the patient and doesn't rush in and out of the room. I also overheard the patient before me tell him how nice his care was, so it definitely wasn't just me. Also, staff members said hello to each other in passing. It seemed to be a happy environment.

Courtney Joyner

I have seen two doctors at the Raleigh Eye Center: Dr. Hunt and Dr. Wrzosek, who are both great! I always feel like they take their time with me to really understand what's going on. They are down to earth and explain things in terms I understand. I've been coming here for years and don't plan on switching any time soon.

Randy Overton

Dr. Kancherla is a great Dr that cares about her patients. She is highly trained from some of the top schools for her field of work. My experience was that she was thorough and cared about my eye problem to make sure I did not have any other issues. I would highly recommend Dr. K, if you have a eye problem.

Elisabeth Boykin

Love this place! I drive 1 hour and 30mins away just to see Dr. Johnson! The quality of care is amazing! Everyone from the front to the back are super nice! Office is very neat and clean!

Amber Pirtle

I did not even make it in the door with my nephew and grandmother before getting rudely greeted by a nurse about closing the door. I was holding the door for my grandmother, and when I told the nurse that she began complaining to an unknown patient/office worker around the corner. My dad was mad, he took my nephews insurance card back and left the office. This was our first and last visit to this office.

Amy Gutowski

My daughter is a current patient of Dr. Board's. She is experiencing issues with her eyes and I called for an appointment. They were not able to see her for another 1 1/2 months. What poor service to your existing patients that are in need! Looking for a new Dr.

Rhea Wade

The ladies at the front desk definitely have a no nonsense approach. The check in system is frustrating. You walk in and sign a sheet of paper and then 10 minutes later they get to your name and you go to the counter to be actually checked in Then it takes another 10 minutes for them to be ready for you. The first time I came here I got here 15 minutes early so that I had plenty of time to fill out paperwork. However because of their check in system I didn’t get the paperwork until 10:15 and I wasn’t fully checked in and ready to be seen until 10:40 and my appointment was at 10. Level of care is very good, once a nurse calls your name they conduct the appointment very efficiently.

Worst place EVER , if you have special needs DO NOT TAKE THEM THERE

My experience was wonderful people were efficient and Dr bleak was wonderful recommended highly

Thank you to Dr. Holly Johnson and the excellent staff at the Raleigh Eye Center for the assistance this year with my vision care. I have damage to my eye from an injury and the patience they have demonstrated correcting my vision as much as possible is much appreciated. My ability to see clearly is vital to my job in internet marketing, social media management and photography. I highly recommend Raleigh Eye Center.

Lisa Gaines

I had an amazing experience with my Lasik. I have serious issues with things coming near my eyes and they got me through the process with no stress. It was fast, easy, and the results are amazing! Love them!

rachel smith

This place is unbelievably slow. You make an appointment and then have to wait an hour in the lobby and another hour for your exam. They gave me the incorrect prescription so I had to return to waste more time. Go somewhere else if you can.

rachel bailey

Dr Vin is one of the most qualified in the Raleigh area to treat glaucoma, she remains part of the American Glaucoma Society. She is kind and really listens to your concerns. The front desk staff has never been anything but nice to me, even going so far as to find a discount Rx program when I had a lapse in insurance from moving out of state. They ran all the new patient tests on me before my insurance expired (again, I'd just moved and was looking for work). I only have vision in one eye since birth, so I choose an ophthalmologist with care.

Jessica Baker

I had PRK refractive surgery with Dr. Wrzosek and am thrilled with the results! I used to wear glasses mostly, along with contact lenses, and now I do not need them at all. The recovery time did take a while, but it was well worth the time and effort to get me seeing clearly without needing contacts. I would absolutely recommend this practice for refractive surgery, or even a regular eye exam.

chris wadsworth

Dr. Kancherla and her assistant, Susie, listened closely to my concerns and spent a lot of time testing my eyes. I was shocked to find out that I had cataracts, but relieved to have an explanation for my rapidly changing vision. Dr. Kancherla told me of an online lens simulator that helped me decide which type of new lens to choose. I talked to multiple people who'd had cataract surgery who were thrilled with the result, but also talked of the time consuming series of eye drops required. I discovered that Dr. Kancherla has a simplified eye drop method that was VERY easy. I've had cataract surgery in both eyes done without any post-op issues. I now have 20/20 vision thanks to my new multifocal lenses - and Dr. Kancherla!

Ashley Yakopec

Grew up going to Dr. Board, and then Dr. Kiley. I had to switch recently due to a change insurance; however, I was able to go back after changing again! Raleigh Eye Center fit me in to see Dr. Vin when I had a reoccurring allergic reaction. She was diligent, professional, compassionate and informative. I had seen another eye doctor at a different practice who diagnosed the allergic reaction; however, I was only treated with steroid drops. Dr. Vin gave me thorough instructions and suggestions, and I'll be seeing her as my regular eye doctor now!

Mark Wotring

This place needs a business manager badly. When this place says they will call you back it means someone goes to the door...opens it and yells your name. They hope you hear and answer. Please, fire everybody that deals with patient service. Doctors are good though...For whatever that is worth.

Luke Baer

I know an employee from here who was fired without written or final notice. Can't follow your own rules for your employees after they have to have surgery? Who would want to work at such an awful place? The poorer reviews on this are right. Moreso than they realize.

Alan Aarons

I have been a patient of Lori Couch DO and Dr. Boliek for years and they are excellent. I recently had difficulty getting a nonurgent appointment due to my own limited availability. Amy Godley went above and beyond to get me an appointment at a time that works best for me. She truly cares about making the practice accessibie and her professionalism is exceptional. Great docs and great staff.

Michael Stella

I see Dr. Boliek, who has been great. I have twice in the past five years needed emergency visits, and they've been able to get me in. He's managed me conservatively but still able to help me out when necessary. I really appreciate the care I've gotten at Raleigh Eye Center, and the team / staff members have always been very polite and helpful.

You wrote a review for Raleigh Eye Center One hour ago 5.0 star rating 7/11/2018 I''ve been suffering with dry eye for over two years but repeated visits to address the issue w/my prior eye doc were useless. While she'd prescribed drops, recommended some OTC drops and cauterized my tear ducts, I saw little to no improvement. A friend recommended I see Dr. Wrzosek (at the new Durham location) and I'm so glad she did! At the first visit he told me the ducts had re-opened (which was particularly bothersome given I'd seen my original eye Dr only two weeks prior and she didn't even notice!!) and suggested I try the autologous serum tears. The autologous tears have been LIFE CHANGING!!! From the FIRST DROP-and I'm not exaggerating here- I had extended relief! And for the first time in over two years I do not have to wake multiple times throughout the night to use OTC drops, nor do I have to use them before I can fully open my eyes in the morning! Dr Wrzosek recommended I use them 4-6 times per day and I do but more often than not I have to remind myself to do it because my eyes are not bothering me! In addition to the serum tears he re-cauterized the ducts, which was a quick and fairly painless procedure and suggested I consider the LipiFlow procedure which I've already scheduled. I could not be more pleased w/ the care I've received from Dr Wrzosek and the staff at the Durham location of The Raleigh Eye Center.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kiley at the Raleigh Center for quite a few years. You couldn't find a better eye doctor. He has been treating me for glaucoma and my pressure has steadily gone down and he seems to be as happy about that as I am. I recently had cataract surgery done by Dr. Wrzosek. Also the best. I am steadily improving and look forward to soon joining the "reading glasses only" club. Considering where I was, that is a massive improvement. If you have eye issues, I highly recommend the Raleigh Eye Center and Drs. Kiley and Wrzosek are the best!

I was referred to this practice by my daughter's pediatric office. I received a phone call from the office to ask me if I would like to book an appointment. The front desk lady left a VM on my phone, she was unfriendly at all , so, I thought I should check the google reviews first before booking an appt. Honestly, after reading the reviews about how rude the staff and their Doctors are, I decided that I will not be taking my daughter there. It is very important to care for your patients, especially parents who are concerned about their children's wellbeing. Customer Service needs to be reinstated all over America. If you cannot do the job well, do not accept it.

Very BAD experience with Dr. Johnson. It is my first time leaving a review because I was very mad and disappointed with Dr. Johsnon for her careless and non-professionalism. I went for a simple contact lensing fitting after I felt my vision change. However, she didn't seem care and was very irresponsible and not professional during the whole exams. When I told her "its still blurry"","none is better" during the contact adjustment examine, she still sticked with what she thought was right and left in hurry. I had to go back 3 times because she could never get the right vision for me!! It was extremely stressful when she was careless and not listening to my symptom and needs. I was literally wasting my time waiting for her for next follow-up appointment (in hope that she can fit it)but she was careless again and order me with wrong vision strength that made my eye even more uncomfortable. If she could run more exam or just spend a little bit more time for the eye adjustment, I prob would not need to visit 3 times in 2 month. Overall, AVOID HER if you can.

Lisa Williams

Wonderful I had my lasik done and Dr Kiley and his staff walked me threw the entire process. I was seen on time for every appointment. They also had the best price around! I strongly recommend if you are thinking about lasik you see these guys!!

I took my four year old daughter here last week for an exam and we left very pleased! We didn't have to wait too long for her name to be called and when we went in to see Dr. Board he was very friendly and thorough with the exam. He also made sure I understood my daughter's eye condition before sending us to the room next door to pick out her new glasses. My daughter is very excited for her glasses to be ready and I look forward to her following up appt in 3 months to see how her eye condition is progressing.

Jul Van

My 10 month old son was given a referral from his pediatrician. The office staff was extremely friendly and super nice. Dr board, however, is rude. We came in for our first, and only visit, He looked at my son and kept talking in circles. I asked a question for clarification and he said "you weren't listening to me" then restarted his speel. I then asked another question and I felt like he was scolding me. He was basically telling me that my son didn't need to come in for another year if I didn't see any progression in his condition, but he wouldn't put it in simple terms. I told him I was still foggy and wanted to know what signs of "progression" I should be looking for, he still didn't answer my question. I'll be seeing another doctor for a second opinion. He clearly doesn't care about the concerns of his patients.

My son’s been coming here for years. Great experiences.

Any Person

Dr. Board was recommended by my child's pediatrician. It was the worst experience I have ever had with ANY medical professional! The staff was dismissive and were not friendly but I can tolerate that from staff if the doctor is good. However, Dr. Board himself was very dismissive and just brushed off my explanation of my child's situation. His goal seemed to be to get us out as fast as possible and just collect his fee. I will NEVER see him again and I will be providing feedback to my child's pediatrician.

Kandi Ellison

I love this place. My Dr was amazing, my surgery was quick and I am so very pleased with the results.

Staff and Dr. Wrzosek were outstanding, very competent

Received stellar services with cataract removal and implants, both eyes, full medical eye exams, and eyeglasses. Their dispensary can get Zeiss office lenses, a specialty progressive multi-focal eyeglass lens especially beneficial for persons with presbyopia (limited ability to focus both near and far) such as occurs with age or after cataract surgery and single-focus implants. I went from becoming functionally blind with cataracts to fully functional with near perfect vision requiring no glasses to drive and only needing reading glasses for close distance work. As with everything medical, your specific case may vary.

Mitchell Ward

I have been coming to the Raleigh Eye Center for many years. I always get excellent and efficient service from my doctor, Dr. Holly Johnson, and the friendly staff.

Alex Courneya

Called in to check a corneal abrasion I had and snuck me in on the same day. Was most impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of the opticians and ophthalmologist. Would recommend.

Creeper Engineering

Danyelle made my appointment go by very smoothly and made me actually enjoy my visit to the eye doctor! Everyone at the front desk was there to answer all of my questions so overall 4/5

Cornell Manning

I have been a patient at Raleigh Eye Center for about 7 years. The people are very friendly and professional. Dr. Couch is my provider and she is the nicest person you could meet. She explains everything she is doing and I don't mind the pressure test when I have hated it when it has been done by other doctors. I would recommend the practice to anyone looking for a new eye doctor.

Matt Crist

I am a patient here, but not for long. Here’s been my brief experience. 1) contact order was wrong so I had to bring back my box and get a replacement. Inconvenient, but no big deal. 2) I was scheduled to see a retina specialist, Dr. Magolan, because a round globe of light is appearing in the corner of my right eye. Naturally, I’m concerned (eye sight is important to me). The office called to cancel on the day of the appointment. Dr. Magolan couldn’t make it. So they scheduled me a week out. I let them know the issue is getting more progressive, they said sorry you’ll have to wait another week. I said ok please keep me scheduled, but I’m going to try another office with a retina specialist to get a test sooner (again, call me crazy, but my eye sight is important to me). I called another specialist and they were able to accommodate with a referral. Called Raleigh Eye Center back and they refused to give me a referral—not because I don’t need an OCT retina test, but because I’m “their patient” and they “just don’t do referrals.” It’s sad when money gets in the way of doing what is right for the patient. Avoid this place like the plague.

Greg Sligh

I've been a patient with the Raleigh EYE Center for over 5 years. Regardless of who is at the front desk, that person has always greeted me with a smile upon arrival. The staff has always been pleasant, courteous and very helpful. I had an issue with prior authorization of a prescription with my insurance carrier that had been going on for several months. Danielle and Jennie were persistent with my carrier in trying to get this issue resolved. They kept me updated on a regular basis and even shared their strategies as well. Tonya and Lisa at the checkout desk have always scheduled my visits as best they can around my work schedule that enables me to save travel time during work hours. Overall, I don't believe I could get better service that what the staff and doctor has given me through the years I've been a patient at Raleigh Eye Center!

Maggie Arnold

As a loyal client, I have been coming to the Raleigh Eye Center since I was younger. The staff is amazing and friendly , and the environment is very appropriate for patients of all ages. I still prefer the Raleigh Eye Center over any other eye doctor. As a child, I went to Dr.Board, and now I currently see Dr. Couch. All the doctors and staff are amazing and will do anything and everything they can, to make sure you are comfortable, happy, and satisfied!! I was very pleased with my visits.

Been here twice. Long wait each time. Staff is nice. Dr Vin listens, explains and has a gentle touch. Other than wait times and staff forgetting to send prescription to pharmacy, I am comfortable with myd and overall service from staff and eyeglass group.

Andy Baxley

This place is absolutely fantastic. Super friendly environment, nice clean atmosphere. Everyone is super helpful, efficient and makes you feel like part of the family. Doctors are extremely knowledgeable, and have great "bedside" manner, especially Drs. Wrzosek and Lin. Appt. was quick, and I was always kept well informed as to what was being done and why. Top-notch operation. Highly recommended!
