The staff here is great. They are so attentive and friendly. I had to go back to get my glasses adjusted 6 times and they worked with me every time, and were always nice about it. This place definitely has my business!

How much do you enjoy being misled? How much do you like being promised an order within a certain timeframe, only to be told, *after* the glasses were supposed to be ready, that the timeframe in question won’t work? Better yet, how much do you just *love* having the store owner then cancel your order entirely because, you know, that will absolutely expedite getting new lenses on your frames, right?! If you're like me, not very much. And if you're like me, you'll avoid Visionary Optics like the plague. What happened? Unfortunately, that store handled my business in an incredibly unprofessional way. First, when an employee made promises he knew, the very moment he made them, the store couldn't fulfill. Then when the store owner, a week later, canceled my order altogether, causing further delays to fitting new lenses on my frames. From a great first encounter... Things started off well enough. When I dropped off my glasses at the store on 4/17/2019, the bulk of my conversation with the employee there centered on timeframe, as I was working under tight constraints due to upcoming travel: 1. I repeatedly asked how long it would take to get my frames back with new lenses. 2. We didn't just mention timing in passing: the employee confidently assured me he understood the constraints, and could deliver the order swiftly. Specifically, he went out of his way to make and repeat the following points: 1. We at Visionary Optics work exclusively with Zeiss optics! 2. We order our own blank lenses, have our own lab downstairs! 3. The work would normally be complete by 4/19, but given this is Easter, it might be an extra day! Further, I walked out of the store having amply communicated I was covered by VSP, to avoid any surprises. The same employee assured me, again, that this was a common scenario the store was familiar with. ... to a botched order. This is what ended up happening Instead: 1. Since I hadn't head back on 4/22, I called. 2. The person on the phone casually mentioned that the store had sent my glasses to an external, VSP-operated lab, that the store doesn't control VSP's timing, that the glasses might be ready "some time this week", but that was both out of their control and not certain. When I expressed surprise and disappointment, and went over how much that new timeline diverged from everything that had been promised a few days earlier: 1. That person dismissively offered to retrieve my glasses as is from the lab. Seriously? How would that accelerate getting new lenses onto the glasses in any way!? 2. In response to my inquiry about the possibility of having the VSP lab ship the glasses directly back to me, once ready, to expedite order completion time, the employee suggested the lab had to ship back to the store, but the store could then ship my way (I live blocks away, so that wouldn’t save any time) for a $15 fee! Do they actually care this little? Keep in mind that no new information surfaced between the moment I walked out of the store, with assurances that the team was working on fitting the glasses with their own Zeiss lenses, in their own lab, on a tight timeframe and the moment, mere hours later, when they shipped the frames to a different lab without notifying me of the ramifications. The store knew I was covered by VSP, knew how they'd need to handle this order. So they effectively made promises they knew they couldn't deliver on, at the very moment they made them. Why? I reached out to the store to try and resolve the matter, looking to confirm an updated timeframe or at the very least figure out how such a major miscommunication had occurred. Instead, the store owner summarily canceled my order, resetting the clock on getting lenses for my new prescription. Avoid.

Doctor made me feel comfortable. and they really considered my face shape and the way my eyes centered in new frames. I knew I didn't like my previous glasses, but didn't know why. They showed me why right away, then found a pair that fits wonderfully. highly recommend!

This is the best place to get glasses! They only use Carl Zeiss lens and trust me, it's the best lens. Don't forget to check out the blue flash on your lenses.

Walked into Visionary Optics yesterday to browse some glasses, and wound up leaving with a complete pair that day, which was wholly unexpected! Dr. Panos, who is incredibly friendly and a great eye doctor, gave me a full exam and contact lens exam, and adjusted my contacts prescription and brand to something that already feels way better. My new glasses are a perfect fit and I love them. They tightened my old ones up too! Glasses were made while I finished up my contacts and full vision health exam, and they accept my insurance so the total cost was reasonable (and they split my payment between 2 cards so I could use the rest of my flex spending) without the hassle of submitting extra paperwork. Loved it.

My experience was excellent. Optometrist was great, a lady helped me pick out glasses which were ready the same day! They even had someone drop off additional contact lens trials to my apt building when I ran out of trials and my year shipment hadn’t yet been delivered. Talk about service! I’d recommend them to anyone!

Walked in to make an appointment and they took me right away. The regular doctor was on vacation, but her substitute was an A+ guy. The salespeople out front were super friendly and were a huge help in finding me the right pair of frames. Trying on glasses can be daunting but they made it fun. They also had a really quick turnaround on the glasses. I'd recommend this shop to anyone. Thank you!

This place is fantastic! Both the doctor and the staff were friendly and helpful and explained the various options and factors that were important for me during my eye exam/contact lens selection. All this while still being extremely efficient. After 16 years of various optometrists, this is the hands down the best experience I've had!

Absolutely phenomenal selection of well curated modern frames. It is very clear from the moment you start your glasses hunt - that you are in the right place. My local optometrist (in Orange County New York) was bought out by conglomerate- their selection took a nose dive. About 1 year ago while walking around my wife and I happened to pop in here. We took note of the selection and professionalism. So now on my new exam I now need progressives and my prescription is strong and I need thin lenses. After getting my new prescription and testing out my local store and being highly disappointed with the selection we came to Visionary optics. 100% the right move - James the co-owner and his assistant were energetic, professional, courteous and knowledgeable. Their selection was great. I decided on a pair of Hapter's - something I had Never seen before - super modern, quality and inventive. The selection of Mykita's - my previous brand was excellent. By going to James - he was honest about some of the qualities and flaws in the different designs. Going to an independent store allows this. They want your repeat business - they want you to leave satisfied with their work. It is very clear they take pride in it. Zeiss lenses too - progressives, thin, transitions, anti smudge and anti glare. My first pair ever with Zeiss and about the same price for lenses elsewhere. While waiting for the glasses - They were in contact with me and it took less then a week. The lens arrived with the tiniest of flaws - Lydia - another optometrist told me about it right away and had already ordered a replacement. She was great with fitting me and super courteous and professional. This is the place. No BS. Thanks guys.
