My girlfriend purchased me a Mykita frame (#2 Bernd) to the tune of $600 for my birthday. I then spent an additional $500 on pair of lenses and was really stoked to wear my new glasses, only to find that the frame is so poorly designed that the hinges connecting the frame to the temples come apart every few weeks. And every few weeks I have to make a trek to the store to have the glasses repaired. And every time I'm there, I'm inundated with offers to buy another frame. Really? I should spend another $1,100 because... your frames are so superior? I have a $5 pair of readers that never break. It's absurd to drop this kind of dough on a pair of glasses that I can't even wear half the time. And because I don't have a receipt that store won't replace the frame despite the fact that the the problems are well known to the company and model is now discontinued. I get better customer service at a 7-11.

While Mykita frames are superior, the customer service at the Crosby St store is disappointing. They can be unpleasant and dismissive. The customer's wishes/concerns are far from the first priority. Be certain to study the return policy carefully before purchase.

Bought very expensive sunglasses as a gift and when folded in their case the arms of the sunglasses have rubbed and scratched the inside of the glasses on the lense. When taken in to the store staff held their hands up and said there’s nothing they can do to fix it. Thanks for nothing Mykita, poorly designed sunglasses at an extortionate price with no help or service when they inevitably break.

I purchased a pair of Mykita sunglasses 2 years ago. The arms have just now fallen off for the 3rd time. The 2 first times I went to the SoHo shop to get them re-attached. They glued them back on to the folding hinges, but not without leaving fingerprints fused into the plastic which I didn't mention to them, but I feel they must have noticed. For a pair of $6-700 + cost of prescription lenses, I was hoping for better quality. Also, I have barely been using them (maybe 20-30 times), I wear normal glasses from Mikli and have done that for years and never had one single problem. I feel I know how to take care of glasses, but this is just not worth the aggravation.

I've followed him to Mykita's new location on Broome Street. Always greeting customers with a smile and a professional demeanor, he is truly Mykita NY's quintessential ambassador and a fine optician. Mykita should be soooo happy to have him!
