I searched for a very long time for the perfect glasses. Easily a dozen places, including all the big chains and many small stores. Nowhere did I get the same personal, joyful service that I did at Charlotte Jones. From Charlotte!! Never a hard sell, never even the whiff of it. Her frames are gorgeous and she understood that I was making a fairly major purchase. After falling in love with a pair, I continued my search and nowhere did I find frames I like better, or a salesperson I liked better! If you are in the market for new frames, go, go, go. Charlotte Jones is one of the loveliest opticians in New York City. Warm, down-to-earth, ever so friendly, honest and humorous, she makes it quite clear that she isn't in the business of pushing a product. She doesn't have to, when the eyewear is this fantastic and her personality, so inviting. There are many eyewear boutiques around town, but quantity doesn't equate quality. Stepping into her store, you'll thankfully find the latter in abundance. Her selection of frames is second to none and her taste in exceptional pieces that aren't carried everywhere, is excellent. From the gorgeous RVS by V frames to those by Claire Goldsmith and Michel Henau, she has something unique for everyone. I've bought two frames already and will continue to return and recommend Charlotte to anyone. People ask me all the time where I bought my glasses...and I promise that you'll be bombarded with the same question. Incredible customer service and beautiful eyewear. Highly recommended.

Charlotte was very patient and helpful it didn't matter if I felt like trying on 10 pairs of glasses before I made my decision and still chose to try on some more it didn't matter she just wanted to be sure that I was comfortable and happy with my choice. A couple years ago, I was glass-less having sat on my last good pair and needed a new pair ASAP. I wandered into Charlotte's place just to browse and she immediately offered to repair my old glasses. She also tried to try to move the lenses from a different pair into new frames, and finding that they didn't fit, gave me an incredible discount on new lenses and frames. She has a gorgeous demeanor and her turn around is very very quick. I can not recommend this optician highly enough. A few months ago, I needed another entirely new pair of glasses and had, yet again, a stellar experience with Charlotte. I needed to get progressive lenses and had been given a pair of frames as a gift. Charlotte got me a last minute appointment with a local ophthalmologist, got the lenses made, fitted me and sent me off feeling like a new woman. It's always such a relief when a business can maintain its excellence.

Charlotte was a pleasure to work with and very,very patient with my husband and I (he purchased two very stylist frames after wearing basically the same boring wire style for 20 years). Charlotte Jones opticians is the ideal place to find luxury eye wear. I've purchased four pairs of glasses from Charlotte Jones over the last two years. I can't say enough wonderful things about the service and selection at this Hell's Kitchen location. If you already own multiple pairs of glasses and you have a discerning eye for quality luxury goods, this is the ideal spot to find your new frames! Charlotte and Tatiana are always extremely helpful when I've been looking to add to my collection. It's totally worth the trip to Hell's Kitchen to check out the selection of frames. They are not cheap but, worth the investment if you love and wear your glasses everyday like I do. I'm so thankful we have such a wonderful shop to find luxury eye wear in the neighborhood!

Overpriced glasses. Purchased their services based on the reviews, bad idea. Wasted money. They told me the Ophthalmologist made an error in the proscription; that 's why could not read with the reading glasses they created. The second trip did not fare any better. They will never see my money again!

I live in London, England, and while I was on holiday in NYC I dropped into Charlotte Jones Opticians after seeing some attractive frames in the window. I'd never heard of the shop before and I wasn't really looking for new glasses - I suppose I was tyre kicking more than anything - but I found the service knowledgeable, trustworthy, and eager to help me find glasses that would fit and suit my face. I wear varifocal lenses (progressives) and became interested in a very attractive Lindburg frame. It was late on Friday evening, I was flying back to London on Tuesday evening and I didn't have my optical prescription with me so I thought that I'd have to give up on the idea and look elsewhere when I returned to the UK. But no. Charlotte Jones Opticians's sales advisor, Tatiana, measured my optical prescription using the glasses I was wearing and made some calls and promised to deliver my new glasses to me at my hotel before I left. Understandably, because I'd walked in off the street and didn't know the shop, I was dubious that it might be a sales ploy (we've all had that, right?) and because I know that digitally grinding both sides of the lenses to perfection and coating them takes time. However, slightly against my better judgement I did the deal and left the shop. Sure enough on Tuesday afternoon Charlotte herself delivered my glasses to me at my hotel and they are excellent! The glasses I had on when I entered Charlotte Jones Opticians have high quality, digitally ground Varilux lenses but the lenses in my new Lindberg frame are noticeably clearer, the frames are exceptionally light and Tatiana had expertly adjusted the frames so that they - and the lenses sweet spots - sit perfectly on my face and my vision is definitely improved. Charlotte took time in the foyer at my hotel to check that the frames were adjusted to her exacting standards and I have to admit that I like them so much I've only taken them off to sleep. My other glasses have been relegated to second place. Charlotte Jones Opticians assured me that after sales service if I needed it in London would be rapidly available by posting the lenses back if it were needed. I thoroughly recommend Charlotte Jones Opticians for their expert knowledge, for their range of goods, for their desire to please, and most of all for going the extra mile to achieve customer satisfaction. I visited several eyeglass shops around manhattan with less-than-positive customer service experiences. When I asked if a pair of frames came in different colors, I was told to check the manufacturer website! At another, I was told that they didn't have a particular frame style in stock, but could order it for me if I purchased them first. Then, I stumbled on Charlotte Jones Opticians. I walked in, expected to be disappointed but was so pleasantly surprised at the fantastic customer service I received. Everyone there is very pleasant, helpful and takes pride in their work. I had a specific pair of glasses I was interested in - they didn't have them in stock but ordered them in two colors for me to try on. I wish I had discovered them earlier - they have a ton of fun, great frames. I am happy I found them and will be going there for all my future eyeglasses!

I have never been more thrilled to review a business. I was a long time “contacts only” person. I wore my glasses at home, away from the public. A few months ago I looked into Lasik surgery. It turned out I was a perfect candidate but leading up to the surgery I needed to wear glasses for two weeks and toss away those contacts for good. The glasses I had for my “home only” time were old, completely out of fashion and the prescription was wildly out of date. I went (on the recommendation of a couple of my friends) to see Charlotte. We had a fantastic talk about Lasik. She was so excited that I was a good candidate and she wanted my two weeks before the surgery to be painless but also fashionable. She picked out the perfect frames that were stylish but wouldn’t break my bank at all. Honestly, she gave me an incredible deal and took no time at all getting them made. I would recommend Charlotte to anyone and everyone. And she’s in such a convenient spot right on 9th Avenue!!!

Charlotte and staff are so knowledgeable and fun. Everything in the store is singular and edgy but somehow classic at the same time. My partner got sunglasses from them a few years back, so when my old glasses finally gave out recently, I did a thorough search but my best experience and options by far were at Charlotte Jones. They're not inexpensive but I got exactly what I wanted and needed. A few specifics that may be helpful for others: I have a very strong correction so I normally wear contacts. I wanted small frames to minimize the lens thickness. This proved really difficult because the hipster trend at the moment is for big frames. Charlotte was very understanding of my vision needs and had gorgeous simple frames with clear plastic around the lenses and black temples. They polished the edges of the lenses and so it all blends. It was an investment for sure, but I actually *want* to wear my glasses now which is amazing. They don't take vision insurance but FWIW my recent experience is that vision insurance doesn't have great coverage for anything beyond the simplest glasses. I used my flexible spending plan with no issue. They don't have an on-staff optometrist to do a vision exam so you'll need to do that elsewhere and bring your Rx - not usually a problem or big expense. They have all the usual lens options e.g. high-index (thin), transitions, etc. So if you want to fall in love with a pair of glasses or sunglasses check out Charlotte Jones.

I am a Specialist Physician but I did not know much about Frames and lenses until I visited Charlotte Jones Opticians in New York City. The staff were very Professional, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Their insight and recommendations were very helpful. They have a wide variety of eye-ware to suit virtually any taste or style and they are very much aware with what is current and trendy. This is the one stop shop as far as Eye-ware is concerned. There is no need to look any further. I will recommend them to friends and in fact anyone looking for "the place" to get eye-ware. I will rank them 6 stars.

Worst customer service and attitude!! Came here for 2 seconds help: just wanna borrow the tool to stable my glasses frame. Literally hurt stable it ( 2 seconds help). And the lady had really bad attitude. “No I can’t. I can’t help you. I can’t let u to use the tool. I can’t let my technicians help you.” I asked if I pay. The frames are great, the service is good. However, the lenses are overpriced and inflated. This is the only location so it feels as if you are paying the business' rent. The lenses are also severely heavy and weigh down on your nose causing bruises. After a while it becomes very uncomfortable to wear. In response to the owner, I have attached a scan of the letter your company sent me after my purchase. So either you are lying or the person who serviced me is a fraud who didn't put me into your "database" which has me even more upset that now you are trying to discredit me as a paying customer and push my experience aside as if it is not valid. The attached letter came from your company, addressed to me! Check your base again.

No doubt Charlotte Jones is a paragon of good taste and style; moreover she clearly can recommend and provide the perfect specs for your particular face, persona and character. Naturally her dispensing always offer even difficult visual problems precise, accurate and exacting prescriptive solutions.
