The store is small, with a small selection, but don't be fooled, because all of the options you don't want are missing. He only carries what he likes and believes in. It is a remarkable store, with a wonderful staff. I would never shop anywhere else.

I would have loved to have given this shop 5 stars. I had a great experience picking out my glasses with Sarah, unfortunately, when I went back to purchase the pair I settled on, I dealt with another salesperson at the store as Sarah was on her lunch break. He quoted me prices that were $50 more than what Sarah quoted me (pulled them out of the air, maybe?), then tried to make it look like he gave me a deal, by dropping the price by $50. When I arrived to pick up my glasses - which I love the style of, and would return to the store, because I like their inventory - the same sales rep, Brandon, "adjusted" my new glasses by bending the plastic frames (I heard them crack inside), which, it only dawned on me later, is a tactic used by shady sales reps to have glasses wear down and break quicker. Had I not been in such a rush, I wouldn't have allowed myself to be taken advantage of like this, but sometimes one lets their guard down. What would have been a great experience, turned out to be very disappointing. It didn't seem like the other sales reps were as bad as Brandon (I overheard one of them say to him, in fact, "Don't do that" . . . as he was bending my new glasses). This is a warning to put your guard, way up, when shopping here; and preferably, avoid dealing with Brandon. This is New York--you don't get to take advantage of people, Brandon, not without consequences.

I have been wearing eyeglasses for many years. I have always ordered plastic lenses and they have invariably been of very fine quality--some of which have remarkably held up for years. Unfortunately, my current ophthalmologist, Dr. Curreri, referred me to Anthony Aiden's shop. While Anthony and Randy are extremely pleasant and helpful, Anthony's quality of plastic lenses are truly inferior. I cannot wear my newly purchased glasses for longer than about five minutes without needing to thoroughly clean them with soap and cool water, which, obviously, is completely unacceptable. I will return to my local Gramercy Park optician for a true quality set of lenses. It's a pity that I will have to invest more money. My eyeglasses cost $800.00. However, it will be worth the additional cost to be able to see. BTW, an acquaintance of mine who lives in Manhasset, N.Y. recently purchased the very same eyeglass frames I have and paid $3.00 for them at her local drugstore. Perhaps it is best to stay with what you know, rather than explore. Excuse me while I go wash my eyeglasses...

This place is the real deal - professional and transparent. I wanted a specific pair of designer glasses and have crappy optical insurance. I spent quite a bit of time calling different stores and not one would give me the full discount with my insurance like they are supposed to when they claim to take it. I was honestly surprised when Anthony Aiden offered to honor my UFT insurance and gave me the full discount. I had to come in twice afterwards and received the most efficient and friendly customer service. Highly recommend this place, I won't look anywhere else next time!

All these reviews are spot-on, this is truly a great spot. My beloved sunglasses broke (somehow the screw came out where the arm fits) and I called them up to see if they could help me put it back together. Super nice on the phone, and super nice in person. I feel like most people would charge just to even look at it, and they didn't. They were able to fix my glasses and did a great job. This is such a neighborhood gem. Very appreciative for the great service and kindness - it goes a long way.

This is an excellent shop. Anthony went above and beyond to make sure I got what I needed and was happy with my glasses. My prescription from my doctor was off and Anthony redid three pairs of glasses and was very gracious about the whole process. He even had his doctor reexamine me to be sure they got it right. AND he did a beautiful job re-matting the finish on one of my frames. He has made a loyal customer of me!

I went in yesterday to get my Tom Fords readjusted , cause I had went in last month and asked if he could fix my TF. I had sat on them too many times and now the right ear handle was broken off. When I went to Cohen's fashion optical where I bought them originally they told me they couldn't fix it and that I had to buy a new pair which runs $400. If you want superb service and truthful accurate test results come here. Unlike places like Lens Crafters where they provide only basic test AAO run through the complete gambit of test. The staff takes their time with you and always informs you of what test their conducting and its expected results. If you do need glasses or contacts the staff always makes spot on suggestions for you as they know their products top to bottom. I have nothing but kudos for AAO.

Anthony, Brandon and Sara are very accommodating and friendly. They have the latest frames and will do their very best to find you a great match. They will work with your insurance plan to get you the best price as well. My wife an I have been coming here for years and we feel very relaxed whenever we are in their store. No over aggressive sales people. If they don't have a particular frame, they will do their best to get it. They are by far the best opticians we have ever used. When you find the best there is no reason to search any further!

The reviews are true! This is the best eyeglass shop I've ever been to. I passed by with my boss's Rag and Bone aviator sunglasses, which were in need of a tighten. No one, not Rag and Bone, not their sunglass supplier, not the other opticians I visited would offer to even look at the sunglasses. The gentleman I met at AA greeted my warmly asking how I could help. I showed him the sunglasses in under two minutes he tightened and cleaned them, and refused to let me pay for the service or tip him. Galliance survives in NYC. It's at AA Oh, and while you are waiting, they play good music that makes you want to dance. Thank you for being you!

I first went to Anthony Aiden (AAO) more than 15 years ago. I had a TV appearance and needed to look "smart" and the turn around that I needed was tight. AAO took care of me and it was a great experience. I went back November 2016 after going to other opticians in that time between; I will not go to another optician. On every level of professionalism that is important to me, AAO meets my expectation: promptness of the product, customer service, adaptability to special circumstances, location, quality of staff and more. That was true when I first went there and was true with this experience so that is serious consistency. Anthony Aiden himself has a deep knowledge of this field and it is reflected in his business. Plus I hear that AAO is very community involved and he always has great diversity in his staff, so that is a bonus. I recommend AAO highly.

I'm a loyal customer and appreciate the very personal attention in a shop that reminds me why we need neighborhood stores. Recently, the temple of my favorite glasses snapped off. Apparently the manufacturer no longer makes the model, so I thought they were destined for recycling. But within a couple of days (quicker than they told me it would be ready), they replaced the broken temple with a new one that looked almost identical. At no charge.
