My wife and I recently downsized and moved to Somerville. One of my pairs of sunglasses needed a replacement of one of the nose pads, which was completely missing. I went into Rowden Optitions, and was greeted by Jeff Rowden. I told him what the problem was, and he asked to see the glasses. He walked back to his lab, (glasses in hand) and immediately started working on them. He not only replaced the missing nose pad, but said the existing one was actually up-side-down, in placement. So, he replaced both pads, then fitted the sunglasses on my face. I thanked him and asked what I owed him. He said there was no charge! That was very unexpected, (and very much appreciated). Not only that, he gave me some lens cleaner and a lens cloth! I said are you sure I can't do anything. He said if you liked the service, please give me a comment on Google. My comment: Awesome Service, great first impression. This is someone who cares.... Not just my opinion. This is fact! Thanks Jeff, you earned my business.

My 91 year old mother had her prescription filled at Rowden. Despite her unusual prescription from a low vision specialist, Rowden took care of her in a timely and caring manner. Amy, the optician, was exceptionally attentive, making sure everything was perfect before we left. Thank you, Amy and Rowden! .

Just met Jeff today, nice guy. Went in with a new pair of Warby Parker frames that did not fit and were actually pretty cheap. Turns out, I'm returning those new frames, and Jeff even fixed up my old glasses to hold me over until I could figure out what I wanted to do about buying a new pair. He didn't care to make a sale, just wanted me to feel comfortable being a part of a community, knowing if I did need the right pair of frames they were probably already in his store. I'm going back in the spring to buy a pair that looked real good. Might be a bit more money, but I know the frames are nice and will last. And I'd be supporting a local business in my town.

Very happy with the service. Not a corporate place, friendly people. The prices aren't cheap, but after I picked up my new glasses, the store offered to fix my old pair, which wasn't even purchased there, for free. Awesome!
