I do not know why they have so many negative reviews on Yelp!. I just got my two pairs of glasses, order them online and within a week they were in my doorstep. They provided me with tracking and everything is good. I had a pair of glasses with the same prescription to compare them to and I can't tell the difference so that means good job!

Optical Academy is a fast-paced eye glass business. I’ve had a ophthalmologist before coming here. My previous were not as productive as this office. One of the workers, Daisy, has been such a huge help with helping me pick out my glasses. Totally recommend anyone who lives around Optical Academy for their eye-glass needs. Over two hours thirty minutes for about 10 minutes service. They move your spot in line if you ask someone about the wait. This is an absurd way to handle any sort of queue system and really hampers the experience. If you don't have two hours to wait, go somewhere else. The service itself is standard. They have add-on pricing for everything, who doesn't expect anti-reflection coating on glasses? I won't think I'll be returning to this location. This review is being written while waiting for "two seconds" in their office with glasses sitting on the desk. I'd like to pay and leave.

Is there anything less than one star. My wife and daughter stood waiting to be at least acknowledged to no avail. Then one of the attendants finally decided to check in someone that had arrived after my family, completely ignoring my family standing there. First pair took weeks to get to me and when it did, it was the wrong prescription and had to send them back. The second pair they sent me has lenses that were not set or glued into the frame. Both lenses pop out all the time. I gave up due to the terrible quality and have been wearing my old prescription for two more years. I just got a reminder that I am overdue for an exam and I will do so only as a last resort. Just horrible.

They deserve no stars!!! Ordered glasses over a month ago and still have not received them. Called multiple times to get no answers about the location of the glasses and no phone calls back. Worst customer service ever!!! I am assuming no glasses are coming so I am forced to take the next step. What a hassle. I am not sure how a company can function ripping people off. Optical academy is the easiest and very affordable, you can extensive eye exam here and go pick out frames in the same store.They have many frames to choose from and you can even order contacts. The staff is highly professional, I was greeted at the door by Amel who would not let me leave until i find the right frame, she was very helpful, when the frame would not fit my face, she would tell me politely to move on, she was very polite and professional. I was very happy with my frame and I would not go anywhere else. Jay recommended another frame in a different color which I really loved, they work together to make sure their clients get what they want

I wasn’t impressed and after going there, I can see that the reviews were imposed upon by the business. I walked in w my son to get him glasses and stood there with an employee staring at me and goes back to talking to the other employee at the desk. The gentleman who came in behind me w his daughter was asked immediately if they had an appt. So, since only one person was available to speak with although she was doing data entry, I went to her and asked how it worked. She asked if I was NJEA, which is for teachers, I said no. She asked if I was part of their program, I said no. No idea what she’s talking about I asked for details, she went on the explain the for $40/yr you can be part of the program that has reduced rates if you don’t have insurance. That’s all that was told to me. I asked where I could find frames for him and both men’s sections looked as if they were for women. Nobody asked to help us, nobody was friendly, nobody wanted our business, I’m guessing! So we left. The only reason I gave 2 stars is for the selection, if you’re a female, have at it! Tons of styles to choose from. Won’t be going back! Reviews were not given on own, they’re imposed by workers or business IMHO.

After leaving a bad review the manager asked me to please review and edit it, and apologized for the wait time (which was 2hrs my first time there) after getting my first trial contacts and paying $60 for the contact fitment test I came back to order the contacts that I needed only to find out that apparently the $60 that I paid out of pocked was a partial payment for the fitment test and that the actual price of the test is $120 +\- which left me without any money on the insurance to pay for the pack of contacts. Disappointed with this place.

On Feb 1 2018, I ordered contact lenses, and have yet to receive them Nay 17 2018 (3 1/2) months later. I tried calling for the status of the contacts, either they are on back order I’m told , I was told it was shipped, and then I was told there were no orders for me. As I am going back and forth calling and trying to figure out where the contacts are, I’m given the runaround. Optical Academy never calls back, will not refund my money, and can careless about the situation, I will never use them again, and will never recommend them to anyone. Completely disgusting, totally unprofessional in my opinion!! Never again!!
