I've gone to The Eye Center of Concord for about 6 years and never had any issues with them until last year. I lost my glasses which I am legally required to wear while driving, and my old glasses were too weak of a prescription for me to feel comfortable on the road. All I needed was a simple eye exam so that I could get new ones. But when I called and explained the urgency of my situation to them they didn't seem to care and offered me an appointment about 3 months away. They refused to offer me anything sooner even though I told them multiple times that I really need to get in ASAP and this was a matter of my ability to safely drive. When I called a second time, this time to ask about trying contacts to see if I could get in any sooner, I received the same treatment. It wasn't until I finally threatened to go someplace else that they offered me an appointment the next week. I have no idea why they didn't offer me that appointment to begin with, but I was so put off by my experience with them that I will be going someplace else for my eye exam this year.

You can get your eyes tested and pick out new glasses at the same location. Very informative and they take the extra steps to make sure you have the correct strength of script for glasses. They also take Medicaid.

I had no problem with the drs or nurses they were great. The only problem i had was when i went to pick out my new glasses the woman i had was rude and had her nose in the air because my medicaid was covering it. She practically through the box of medicaid approved glasses on the desk and rudely said pick one.

Not easy to work with..... i went in 2 weeks ago and spoke to the manager (Rob) to have lenses made for my glasses, i then left and live about an hour away.... and still DO NOT have my new lenses..... and nobody picks up the phone when a patient calls. I am gettin super annoyed with trying to go here and getting glasses/ lenses. I spend a good amount of money here.... its very frustrating. Ive left messages and they must never check them! Pretty disappointed overall.

As I moved and needed a new, local eye Dr and my prescription for contacts was running out, I called in Sept for an appt, and I received one 6 weeks later. My appt was for 2 pm and I received a call at 10 am on that day that they needed to reschedule. I couldn't get another appt for 4 weeks. Meanwhile, my prescription had run out and I had no more contacts on hand. My appt with Dr. Bryant went EXCELLENT and I loved her! However, she gave me a lesser script to try and told me leave a message if they worked or not. I did leave a message within her requested two days and to give it time to get logged or whatever, I then waited almost 2 wks to order through 1-800-Contacts. Now, as I see several days later, the status is "verifying prescription with Dr", I have called the Eye Center. They said I needed to call 1-800-Contacts, who told me they had TRIED contacting the Center with no results. I called BACK to the Center requesting my prescription be sent to me so I could sent it to 1-800-Contacts myself and was told they would call me right back. Two hours later, I call and the receptionist just put me to a voice mail, but as the message is cut off, I don't know with WHOM I left a voice mail. So...beginning in September, I did what I could do and still haven't received my contacts. Not happy.

After going through the Lasik procedure with them, and them not completely correcting one of my eyes. They are extremely hard to keep in touch with. I never get any of my calls returned. It's very frustrating to have to deal with one eye not being 20/20. I was very patient with them at first. As it is, I had to wait 3 months just to re do the surgery. Now its going on a additional 3 months that they can't get the laser back to fix my eye. I'm not impressed by any means. Go elsewhere for Lasik and possibly any other eye care need...

Went for contacts in June. It took until 3rd week of Sept to receive them. While we did have to try a couple of different kinds, the primary holdup was that it is impossible to schedule these folks- you may need an appointment in 3 days, but have to wait 2-3 weeks to get in. It is horribly frustrating, if you have an immediate need to see. I also feel like I was gamed. I hung with these folks for months because they had my money. Imagine my surprise when after FINALLY getting a prescription for contacts, I got presented with yet another unexpected $150+ bill. I was livid. So to summarize, it took 3.5 months to get contacts; the cost for contacts + exam was over 2x what I have paid locally at other private doctors. Oh, and to top it off? They would not give me a receipt for the contacts when I paid for them, claiming they could only mail it. So I have to wait, wait, wait, yet again, before I can hope to be reimbursed by my insurance company. No one in the office really seems to care about customer satisfaction. The last time I went in for an office visit, a gentleman and I walked in about the same time. As soon as we got to the reception desk, the clerk inexplicably got up and walked away. We were left standing there for several minutes. We were both kind of surprised, to say the least. They also do not take most insurance. I will go elsewhere next time. I have no special eye needs- there is no reason I need to pay this much money and experience this much frustration for a simple set of contacts and glasses.

I came here looking for green, semi rimless frames for trifocals. Gary went through several catalogs for me and found the perfect ones. However, I had a difficult time getting used to the tri-focals. He sent them back 3 times to be adjusted and then we determined I should try a pair of single vision for distance and a pair of bi-focals for computer work and reading. What a difference it has made, and I didn't pay anything extra for the several pairs they remade for me to make sure they were exactly what I needed. I highly recommend the Eye Center of Concord Optical Center!

Thier retinal "specialists" dont dont operate on monday and refuse to give medicine on fridays, so that dr d. Can improve his golf swing. He preys on the elderly, mostly, but refuses to do a darn thing about helping a working girl keep her vision. Treatable, yet he refuses. This place is a joke and has cost me more then half my vision with their petty golf swing games. They dont listen to thier patients!

Dr. Wasserman recently performed cataract surgery on me. He is easy to talk to, clear with information, and an excellant surgeon. I was nervous about surgery to my eye and pain involved with it etc. The medication used relaxed me and blocked out all memory of what occurred. I was thrilled! Nurses were attentive and thoughtful. It was an all around excellant experience. Plan to have my other cataract done with him as well at the Concord Eye Center. Thanks to all involved for their skilled care. Margaret Sharby
