The people at Heartland Optical are simply amazing. I went in with a pair of broken glasses and my experience was amazing. I had not purchased my glasses there and I was only there seeking advice and a quick repair. As a graduate student, I have limited funds and no vision insurance, but Lori at Heartland sat down and discussed my options with me. Not only was there no pressure to purchase or spend any money, she offered to help me remedy my issue right on the spot-- no cost. I came away with a very clear opinion that Heartland Optical values people and the community more than up-selling or making a few bucks. The compassion I received was amazing and I cannot speak highly enough about my experience here. Thank you Heartland Optical!

Heartland Optical is phenomenal! I recently damaged my glasses (an arm was bent straight up, a lens popped out, and a wire had snapped). I attend the University and I am not from this state so I looked up a eye wear place looking for someone who carried my brand of frames and Heartland was the only place. I thought that I would have to go buy new frames, but when I got there they staff was so helpful and by a miracle they actually fixed my original frames that I thought had bit the dust. They looked brand new, were back in perfectly working condition, and they didn't charge me a thing. I would highly recommend Heartland Optical and they will always have my business.

Heartland Optical has the most advanced equipment of any eye doctor I have ever been to, AND they don't punch you in the eye with a sudden, hard, puff of air to test you for glaucoma like other eye doctors do. Instead, they have an eyedrop and a little pen (Tonopen) that measures the pressure behind your eye without any pain or shock at all. Also, they have a beautiful selection of frames even for Medicaid patients. Thank you.

The highlights of what impressed me most: the affordability, friendliness and helpfulness of staff, the fact that I didn't have to wait at all to be seen and examined (out in under an hour), and their new technology (I didn't have to have my eyes dilated!). Great experience and amazing staff! I had delayed far too long to get new glasses, and I called in for an appointment - they had an opening the same day due to a cancellation. Exam and picking out new frames took 30 minutes, and the staff were super knowledgeable. They each had their own favorite piece of equipment and were more than happy to explain what it did, which I found endearing. They also offered to rush my glasses since my old ones were so bad - got my glasses 3 days later, and I couldn't be happier!!

I had my first eye exam at Heartland last week and it was great! They have the top technology and I didn't even need to have my eyes dilated (whew!). They explained everything they were doing and went over my eyesight needs thoroughly. They were so helpful with picking out frames and didn't just steer me toward the expensive ones. I was prescribed "training glasses" today and the Dr. recommended I go to Heartland Optical to fill my prescription because they are reasonably priced, have a lot of frames to choose from - and most importantly because they fine-tune their lenses to match the prescription with a high level of accuracy. I was happy with their huge selection of over 1500 frames to choose from. Deb helped me choose a pair of lenses in under 10 minutes, and just 2 hours later I received a call to say my glasses were ready to pick up. They knew I was traveling from out of town for therapy in Lincoln and that it would really be helpful for me to use the glasses while I'm in town -- and they worked hard to make it happen. Tried to schedule an appointment as a new patient. Would not schedule me without my insurance information first. I didn’t have my card with me but said I’d like to get on the schedule and call them back with the card information. NOPE, can’t do it. HAVE to have the insurance to get scheduled. I asked what if I’m paying myself. Then we schedule you as “self pay.” So, you can’t schedule me as “self pay” and then change it when I call back?? Apparently not. Sometimes customer service is to much work.

I have been getting my safety glasses here for 9 years and have always been satisfied with the selection of frames and the service that they provide. When I tried taking my prescription to another eyeglass maker to get a deal on cheaper frames for everyday use, I found that to be a big mistake. I could not wear those glasses for more than 2 hours without getting headaches. I took those to Heartland and was told that it looked like the bargain guys used oatmeal to finish my lenses. My lenses from Heartland are always perfect and the entire staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. With our insurance, I was able to get my daughter new glasses with frames that she loves and my out of pocket expense was only $20

My glasses were bent and both lenses out and I was able to come in and the staff was extremely friendly and fixed the right quick for me. There was also no charge which was amazing!

My daughter had extensive eye correction and got help from Dr. Heidi Wise, who is connected to Hruska Restorative. Dr. Wise sent my daughter to Heartland for special prescriptive eyeglasses. Heartland always took care of her needs and helped her find the glasses. They did a fabulous job!
