Small office, friendly staff. Great deals on glasses and contacts when you catch their specials. Much better than waiting hours on long lines at ,other chain stores!!

Very poor experience with JCPenny Optical. They were able to fill a contact order when the prescription was provided to them, but trying to get an eye exam done there and have them write the prescription was an absolute fail. The staff did not inspire confidence as they were very hesitant about the specifics of the order and kept changing the final cost, and when all was said and done (we thought) they ended up calling us back in to re-do the eye exam as they said the numbers didn't look right the first time. In the end, the prescription was still wrong and I had to go get an eye exam elsewhere. If you already have a prescription then they're fine, but do not go here for an eye exam if you value your time or your money.

Courteous staff. Very helpful when I brought both of my daughters in for new glasses. The girls decided on their glasses after closing time, but the clerk still helped us.

how is no one there to answer the phone? 2 days in a row just rings and goes to voicemail and no response back....i live across town and would like to know if my glasses are ready before wasting fuel

Had to file police report against an employee Shawn Kesler. He physically grabbed a customer. Dont go here You have to stay away This employee belongs in prison. Not an optical store

Poor customer service. Said that my glasses would be ready in 7-10 days. Called them 2 weeks later not in blamed it on the lab. Said they would call when they are there. Called 2 days later they were there but didn't receive call. I am now waiting in there store and there is no sales person here to help me.

Dr. Forman is very nice and his prices are lower than anyone in the surrounding areas. As far as insurance, since I don’t have optical coverage, I can’t say one way, or the other. When I need to reorder lenses, he’s very helpful, and doesn’t put me through the third degree. I’ve had this happen to me with several other eye doctors in the area. They give me the runaround after paying for an eye exam, and ultimately I don’t get what I came in for. Dr. Forman doesn’t waste my time and money, and I get exactly what I need, when I need it, no problems.

Doctor gave up on listening to patients. Told her that my left contact moves too much and said "that's okay all contacts do that" and brushed me off Year later my left contact moves non stop progressed into an issue where I can get debris under and cause an infection or cut. Just another doctor pushing healthcare disparities. Lenscrafters in galleria are much better

Dr Forman charged 100.00 when the ins. company covers the entire bill!!! He claimed that he didn't see an insurance card, when on the paperwork that was filled out, it had both, the insurance company's name and the membership number. If he needed to see the card, he should have asked for it from her. This happened to my 15 year grand-daugher while I was in the optical center purchasing a pair of glasses for myself. She paid the 100.00 not understanding his procedure's. I had to go back to him insisting for the cash back. He was reluctant, until I was loud and persistent, then he pulled the cash out of his front pocket!!! And gave it back. He's going to submit her visit to the insurance company, AND take her cash! That's totally double dipping!! I found him very rude and unprofessional. Do not trust him. On the other hand, the associates that sell the glasses, are very professional, friendly and helpful.

I was at wits end trying to replace my Kate Spade eyeglasses. No one carried that frame anymore. I went to numerous optical departments and then stumbled in JC Penney’s Optical Department. Elesha, Apprentice Optician. She was amazing! While she couldn’t replace the brand, she found the perfect replacement pair. I was so happy, I also bought new prescription glasses. I’ve used cacoons fir a long time-and they just weren’t working for me! I stop by from time to time and she’s always there to help if I need it! This is also a GREAT store overall.

I was on time (2 minutes early in fact!) to my appointment. I was waiting for over a half an hour for my appointment to start. I asked the woman at the desk if she knew how long the wait was for appointments, and if I had time to step out for 2 minutes. She said I absolutely did. When I came back those exact 2 minutes later I was informed that my doctor had walked out in my absence and, knowing I would be back in one second, took the person who had just walked in. Yes I maybe shouldn't have left for those two minutes but its incredibly frustrating knowing that my time is considered that invaluable to someone! I will never be returning to JCPenney ever again. I'm very disappointed in this customer service, or lack thereof.

Great staff good selection and by far the cheapest. I saved over $300 over chain stores. This will be the only place I will shop when I need a replacement prescription.

My wife and I recently moved across town and I wanted to order some glasses online so I called this location that I had been to before and asked if they would please give me my prescription they had on file. The lady on the phone said she would call me back later that day, she didn't. I called back the next day and asked if they would please give me my prescription. Another lady answered and said I had to come down to the store and that they can't give out prescriptions over the phone and that I would have to sign a waiver. I asked "Are you absolutely sure you can't just give me this information over the phone. I live 30 minutes away from the store and it's really inconvenient for me because I have a 1 year old that will be in the car for that ride." Her response was, "No, you have to come in and sign a waiver." So, on Saturday morning I drive to the store and I ask the employee if he would give me my prescription. He asks me to write my name on a piece of scratch paper and then walks goes through some files. He can't find the prescription, so he goes in back. He comes back a few minutes later with the prescription and hands it to me. The doctor walks out and I ask her "Do you have a second?" She says "No, I have to see a patient" and she leaves. I then calmly explain to the employee how having me drive for an hour with a one year old is frustrating when all they needed from me was my name on a piece of paper. I didn't sign a waver and they didn't even ask for ID. Basically, I felt like they were trying to force me into the store hoping that I would buy something instead of simply helping me. I was given no apology and they just seemed annoyed that I would be frustrated. I left and I will never go back to that location again.

Went to see Dr Forman as a new patient, my wife and I both had an eye exam and he was charging us $100 / each for 6 months contacts prescription. Called my insurance company and they said everything should have been covered without any out of pocket expense. The only thing I would have to pay for is $10 co pay. Luckily, I didn’t purchase contacts today or else I would have been out $200 when it was not necessary. Even tried calling him and explaining to him what my insurance had said and he denied it saying otherwise. Would never go back to this establishment. Dishonest and untrustworthy.

Very poor customer service!!! I had an appointment that was made two weeks prior. When I got there, I was told that I didn't have an appointment. Pulled out my appointment card that clearly showed that I did. I was then told that Dr. had to leave town unexpectedly and she had called everyone to cancel their appointments. When I told her I never got a call, she kept insisting (with attitude) that she left me a message. My message log clearly shows no message from JC Penney Optical. I don't think she ever put my appointment in the system and that's why I never got a call.

I recently moved to the area. My wife had glasses purchased from a store back east. She signed in and waited to be called. Woman working there skipped her and took a patient seen that day without explaining why. We left. Don't bother going there. Older Blond woman (very Rude). Would have given them a Zero if possible!
