i attended the free classes offered in the spring taught by Rich Merlino and they were excellent! they opened my eyes to the world of fly fishing. i've been spincast fishing for 50 some years and never realized how much fun i was missing. took my new found talents up north to a friends cottage and caught every species of fish the lake had to offer ( except pike ) on a single fly!! my friends were so impressed, the went out and bought themselves a fly rod.! Thank you Rich and the crew at Orvis for educating and inspiring people to the world of fly fishing

Staff is always friendly and helpful both in fishing supplies and clothes. There are several fly fishing and fly tying classes throughout the near at the store as well as through fishing guides. My wife loves the fact that there are women staff that are knowledgeable and as enthusiastic as she is about the sport.

I can't thank the Royal Oak Orvis employee Kelly enough for her help in making this purchase happen for me in a timely way. She called a couple of times to chart me on the progress and doublechecked the details. Ca't thank her enough. Following is the note I just wrote re the other partner in this success - Orvis in Westlake, Ohio. Here it is: Super customer service from Chris. In the beginning, I wanted the 7-piece Frequent Flyer rod and reel and sought one by phone at my Michigan store in Royal Oak - and I wanted it for a trip 3 days from NOW. They didn't have one. They looked around and found one in the Orvis Westlake Store. Orvis Westlake's Chris called me an hour later and set up the whole thing - including shipping it to me quickly at their expense. It arrived today and it's beautiful. I am setting it up as I write this. I'm sure I will like it on the river - it feels very clean and light and sensitive - and I can't say enough positive things about both the Westlake store and the Royal Oak store for making this happen for me.

Bought my first fly fishing outfit from Orvis store in Royal Oak, Mi after many years of fishing with spinning outfit. The service was great. I spent more than an hour with Katie, the fishing manager in the store. She set me up with a great rod/reel outfit after spending the time to find out what I really wanted and needed. Looking forward to the 101 classes and doing more business with this store. Highly recommend after a good experience.

Typically I don’t enjoy Orvis that much. Today I went in and I was treated with respect. I wasn’t rushed into buying stuff. The employee Christian Clemens took his time to let me test out multiple rods. He wasn’t worried about me buying it immediately. He was genuine and respectful. The best customer service I have ever seen at Orvis.

Top notch! High quality merchandise. The Service here is better then any other clothing store I have gone to. They carry anything you could want as far as Fly Fishing goes. You can also shop online and have it delivered to the store. I think that is how you can get free shipping when it comes to catalog items. They will welcome your dog here too. So if you don't feel like leaving puppy home. Take him along to shop with you.
