Came here for eye exam and new glasses. Outstanding service from everyone who worked there. Great selection of glasses. I even picked up a pair of new sunglasses. The owner personally called me when they were ready 2 days later and fit them the same day. I will happily refer my friends and family here!

Referred here by our pediatric opthamologist, and we understand why. Great selection of kids frames, set out at kid height so my 5 yr old could pick for himself--which is key to getting him to wear them. We have had great service from one woman (Roseanne!) who is a whiz at finding frames for picky kids---and she was very patient with us as we tried on the entire shop. We did have a bit more abrasive experience with another woman on our first visit, but after that first time, we haven't seen her since. They even have toys for the younger siblings to play with while waiting for the olders to get their glasses fitted. Also---maybe the review below was for a different shop? Because they always have dozens of frames out in all sizes when we go...can't imagine that you wouldn't be able to try something on the same day, unless it was some specialty brand or something.

Awful--I was totally ignored when I entered. Finally, a not friendly woman offered to help. She knew nothing and had nothing in stock for children, even though they are said to specialize in frames for kids. They said that they could order samples in my son's size and then never called me back. I called them back and they claimed someone said they called me...they said they could have the samples in a few months from now--so, one should just be not able to see for a few months? Totally not friendly and border line abrasive. They seemed to not want my busniesss. Go anywhere else. No parking near the place and the place is so small and cramped. The adult frame selection is all brands you have never heard of...

Medford Optical is the best optical shop I have ever been to. The shop is modern and clean, and the staff, who are friendly, kind, caring, patient, and knowledgable, make you feel at home, treating their customers like a member of their family. The shop has the largest selection of children's glasses that I have ever seen, and their selection of adult glasses is equally fantastic. I wouldn't go anywhere else for glasses for my family and me.

I picked out my frames right away and my glasses were ready in about a week and a half. All costs were out-of-pocket; I paid up front over 200 dollars for a deposit. When I picked them up and looked through them at the store, they seemed okay. However, when I put them on in the car, I didn't like the way the lenses were. They seem like cheap plastic to me; not new innovative plastic, just cheap plastic. I remember that when I picked out the frames, the woman who waited on me never asked if I wanted tinted lenses, a lens coating to make cleaning easier, or anything else. Considering I paid $260 for a pair of plastic frames, I expected the lenses to be higher quality. I'm going to another lens care place and have them replaced with transition lenses. I'm very disappointed in Medford Optical. I remember reading a post from a woman who said the store was small and cramped and she was not being helped. The owner replied that "she must have the wrong store". He obviously just wants to make the review better. It IS very small and cramped, and their frame selection is very small. There were at least 15 people there when I first went there on a Saturday. The only high-end brand I found was L.A.M.B. The others I haven't heard of. Just wanted to set that straight. I seriously think there are some fake 5-star ratings for this place.

Been using Medford Optical for years, for myself and my children. Most recent visit used findings of an Opthomalogist's exam ( first ever, and right down the street in Medford) ) and led to upgrade in my glasses for everyday use, as well as glasses for close work with computer and music activities. Dana, the owner, walked me through many options, tried many styles, in a well-stocked showroom, and took advantage of some new technology on progressive lenses that I'd been using for years. Result in about a week were two new pairs of glasses, fitted and fine tuned in the store, that have made these old eyes feel more secure driving especially to counter night-time glare, as well enjoy my reading, computer, and musical activities with confidence and less strain. Medford Optical is worth your consideration.
