This was the first time I went to the eye doctor and came away feeling less stressed than when I walked in. The staff was friendly and accommodating and I was seen right away at the time of my appointment. The doctor there was really great and cared to explain to me each step of what he was doing and what he was looking for. I came away feeling like I actually learned something about eyes and vision health--you can tell he is very passionate about his work! I would recommend Brattle Square Optical to anyone looking for a great experience with their eye doctor.

Do NOT come here unless you like being ripped off by unethical and rude people. I have had eye and contact exams for over 12 years across many different eye offices and have always always only needed to pay my insurance copay (I have always had the same vision insurance). They overcharged my mother $200 by saying she needed a "special" contacts exam (She has the same insurance) - despite her having the same exact prescription for the last 20 years. Our insurance clearly notes that contacts exams are covered. Brattle Optical insisted that they told her of the additional fees up front but they never disclosed anything...until the exam was over and completed. Please go somewhere else where they are honest. I have seen other reviews here claiming the same issue so we are clearly not the only ones.

As a patient of Dr. Phillips for over 25 years, I can attest to his well-known skills as a highly competent eye physician. His exams are extremely thorough and he sells nothing but the finest lenses and frames. Since I am an older patient who wears progressive, high-index lenses and designer frames, I count heavily on his staff for their personal services and attention to detail.

I've been for multiple years at this point and gotten new glasses, frames, and sunglasses. The eye doctor is absolutely fantastic and super efficient. I think the whole eye exam (plus the cool retinal scan instead of using eye drops, which is the best) only took 20 or so minutes. Afterwards, I was helped to pick out new frames and the suggestions were absolutely fantastic. I trust the staff's judgment completely! Every person in the office is very nice and I will continue coming here as long as I live in the area.

Great service and such a nice staff! I can’t say enough awesome things about this place. The best part was being assisted 1-1 with finding a frame that works for my face structure. She was very patient with me, which was/is very much appreciated.

Walked in with a bent pair of sunglasses that I bought elsewhere. Sasha fixed the screws and balanced them evenly. She was very thorough and did a fantastic job! Excellent service. Definitely recommend.

Theres one woman there... god, i wish i got her name. But shes incredibly helpful, with wonderful taste for what looks good. Ive gone there twice in the last year and she helped me pick out my perfect frames in a matter of ten minutes after i had been waffling about on my own for a bit. Exceptionally helpful and friendly folks, im definitely planning to come back and use my fsa money here yearly.
