Like others have said, prepare for a long wait between initially being called back and seeing the doctor. 2+ hours. I did not have a good experience with F. Woreta. Saw her for a total of 5 minutes before being pushed out the door. Did not take the time to listen to my concerns and was not personable. I won't be coming back here. Reception was mostly professional in my experience, other than one of them laughing when I said I had a bad experience and did not want to schedule a follow on... Just go to Baltimore instead.

I took my mother to see Dr Sobel. The front desk staff was pleasant (though very soft spoken, I had to restate what she said to my mother who is hard of hearing). Waiting area is nice. Seen right away by technician who was very nice. Waited an hour to see Dr after tech. Make sure to have time to wait. Dr Sobel was very nice and patient in explaining her options and what cataract surgery was like.

i have only been here for routine visits / checkups and they seem proficient at performing those. However, I’m not impressed witht the office management. I arrived this morning at 830 (when they open) for an 845 appointment. I watched several others who arrived and checked in after i did get called back before i did. i was called back at 915. How does the office get 30 minutes behind in 15 minites? I am currently still waiting in the dilation room to see the doctor (60 minutes after my appointment) They do not respect their patients’ time.

Rude front desk staff who misinform and incompetent and ineffectIve clinic manager who seems more interested in being friends with the front desk girls

If you have a appointment their prepare to spend literally all day their. I live a hour and a half away and they expect me to wait around and keep coming back and forth. I arrived at 130 did not get seen till 330 and than they said i won't see the actual doctor till about 430 or 5 because they double sometimes triple book patients for the same time.I left. I will not return

Don't. Appointment was with Dr. Sobel. Really don't use this place - If you believe that this is anything like The Wilmer Eye Institute JHU - your wrong. This IS a strip mall medical office; you can do better at the retail stores Walmart/Target. Even after making appointment weeks in advance and multiple text notifications (saying to arrive 15 mins early!!! - which I did) the place was zoo and completely out of control when I walk in. An hour after appointment (total 1hour and 20 mins of waiting remember the Text directions..) nothing .. I asked and got the "what's your problem look..." then I got "we don't know what happen" (yes- literally - shocking but maybe only honest) then came the whopper: "the doctor had taken an "Emergency" case JUST now..."LoL - funny thing: everybody working the desk was acting as if this is business as normal and I was acting strange to ask about delay - only when I pressed did the office manager 'offer' to see what was the confusion. you would think the office manager - would know about the recent 'Emergency' ??. When she returned from her investigation the 'emergency' had happened - can you imagine that!

Excllent med staff. Techs mixed, some patient caring, others impolite. Some data collected by techs found incorrect by doctors. Surgical advanced prep can be incompetently communicated. Poor coordination with primary providers. Lots of moving from one exam room to another, little tegard for seniors, disabled with movement problems. If you are patient patient, it's ok. If not, well..

3 visits in and I am not impressed. Taking my Mom in for eye problems and following up on continuing care from her previous eye doctors at St.Lukes in Florida, now that she is in Maryland, Wilmer has done a poor job. Besides a seemingly cattle call patient approach, long waits and brief visits with doctors, we finally had the visit with the specialist, a unsatisfactory encounter. Their staff failed to get my mom’s patient records from St.Lukes and the Specialist, Dr. Dioud, said he couldn’t proceed without seeing them, it was best to see what had previously been done....I get it.. but seriously this was a waste of our time and my Mom is no further along in addressing her eye issue than before coming to Wilmer. Side note: Dr.was pleasant, he did a brief exam, and but that was it...2 + months. ( including time to get the first appointment) for this and we have to come back again... Not only did I sign and fill out the paperwork to get her records when I brought my Mom in 6 weeks ago, I specifically spoke with the front desk staff and the first optimologist seen, I also gave them business cards for the St. Luke’s office and her doctor to contact. No Excuse.but it never happened, they said they didn’t have the paperwork on file, and thus never got her records. Got the POA and billing information, but not records. And if this is so needed for the specialist, why didn’t anyone from Wilmer call or say something....they’ve had more than enough opportunities..we could have refilled out the paperwork and had the records there. The easy answer is they don’t look at patient files until the day of the appointment, and really don’t check to see that they have want they need for the patient to be seen. Cattle call approach...We have one more appointment scheduled, we shall see....

I'm in several times over the years because I wear glasses and my most recent visit was for correcting a mistaken prescription. The only issue I really had was the unbelievable wait time ( half an hour and several other people who came in after I did got checked in first) and the wait time between seeing the doctor and the tech. Thankfully, both the tech and Dr. Narang were remarkably professional and took my concerns seriously. I got the prescription corrected in less than 20 minutes and was able to go to my local glasses shop without hassle later that night!

I was nervous when I made an appointment here and read the reviews, but this was one of the easiest and most pleasant doctors appointments I have ever had (didn't think above "bearable" was possible). The front desk woman was extremely friendly and the med tech was thorough, patient and friendly. After going to many eye doctors over the past few years with no diagnosis, Dr. Karakus diagnosed my eye issues quickly, taught me about what's been going on, and gave me the patience and time that we should expect from all doctors. I was in and out in less than an hour. I felt like I was being well taken care of, all while being quick and efficient.Thank you!

I was seen by F. Woreta and she seems okay but the doctors scheduler could not care less about her job. I came to get two cataract surgeries done and was never scheduled for the second one even though I was given a date. No apology; nothing, Was told I would have to wait a month and a half to "reschedule."

Set up for staff convenience, not patients, assembly line medicine. Horrible crowding in parking lots, getting there and leaving. Never want to go to Columbia, or any other JHH sites again, ever

Dr Ramalu and the staff hace been a life saver to my eye. After struggling badly with many other doctors I'm glad I found the WEI. They run a large operation and every interaction since the beginning has been a pleasant one. From the desk staff, surgery coordinator and specially the doctors, you should rest assured that your health and well being will be taken care.

Excellent surgeons. Excellent technicians based on experience with various northern VA ophthalmology offices. They are very well trained and do a much better and more consistent job with testing, note taking and initial refraction. One star reduction due to timing on details for surgery. Because I had two surgeons performing separate procedures in one session, sometimes, it seemed as if they were not well coordinated. I was contacted before the surgery to tell me that my normal glasses would not work after the surgery, and I had to consider contacts for the non-operated eye ASAP. Fortunately everything worked out fine, but it caused some scrambling on my part to get a contact fitted to determine if it worked well enough in about 10 days before the surgery, which could have affected surgery details. The issue may have been that the surgery occurred during the change over between fellows/residents working for the individual docs. Fortunately I had a fellow that really cared and knew her stuff, continued to work issues even though she would be gone by the day of the surgery. In the end the system worked, and I still feel JHU provides a level of care not available in northern VA for my issues. The Columbia office is close enough to northern VA that it really alleviates the issues of travelling to downtown Baltimore.

Waited for one month to see Dr Daoud. I saw the girl who took notes, then a super nice korean Dr. Came in and she was very concerned also. Was there due to a prior botched up cataract surgery. The lens in right eye off center, makes me dizzy. She even saw that my slit lamp photos showed not center. Then 1 hr. After appointment time Dr. Daoud came in. Looked at my eyes, made all sorts of excuses, pupil constriction drops, eyeglasses, then contacts, All which I've already done. All I ask for is to reposition the lens. And as I was telling him how terrible this vision is, he got up in a hurry, and left. Did not give once ounce of care. He has a video about his grandmother and how hard it was for her, I was seriously hoping I finally found someone like that for my situation.
