Update June 2019: 2 months now since exam and still no new glasses on my head. They dropped the ball several times now. NO LONGER HAPPY WITH THEM. The doctor still great (thus 2 stars instead of just one) but everything else was a fail. No returned phone calls from messages, didn’t call to say glasses were in after calling me to tell me they would be delayed. One pair they completely submitted the wrong correction for my lenses. Ugh! So frustrated with the service. Get you exam here but skip the rest. Initial thoughts April 2019: Just went for my latest eye check up. Dr. Robert Chous was a hoot! He is my new favorite doctor. He was also extremely thorough. I did the digital imaging eye picture rather than the dilation. I love this option because you have a digital record to look back on it in the future to compare your eye health. I really learned a lot about a half on my visit today. Plus was shocked my eyes actually got better for a change! But he explained that had something to do with the age in the health of my eyes. Extremely thorough. Gave me multiple eyewear options as far as distance, computer, bifocals (which we avoided) etc. Hannah helped me pick out something that looked really good on me, two pair, she was extremely helpful and easy to work with. I will be back! Like I said, my new favorite doctor now.

I walked into Visionworks in Northtown Mall today and was extremely disappointed. I accidentally broke my glasses two days ago and over the years if I had any issues with my glasses I would come to Visionworks and they always helped me. Today, I walked in and the lady who worked there (she was the only one in there) said she would be with me shortly so I waited. Once she was available, I presented her my broken glasses and before I could finish she immediately said they couldn't be fixed, and then proceeded to keep repeating that they couldn't be fixed. She offered no solution, or suggestions and came off rude and rushed. I was planning on making an appointment there today for an eye exam/contacts but since this lady had to piss me off so bad I left and ended up going to Pearle Vision in the same mall. Pearle Vision offered to glue them until I could find new glasses/contacts. I made an appointment at Pearle Vision, they have very thoughtful staff and they even cleaned my lenses for me all for no charge. Take some hints Vision Works! Never going back there

I called to ask a couple questions about pricing and spoke to Kevin on the phone. He was very helpful and informative and was able to get me scheduled for a same day eye exam for glasses/contacts. Kevin was just as nice in person and helped me with the little eye puff test...he was very patient with me as I couldn’t stop blinking every time the puff came. Dr.Pham was then very professional and easy going, performing a thorough, yet quick eye exam and explained to me the picture of my retina (pretty cool to see). Finally, Kimberley helped me order my contacts and literally saved me a ton of money compared to the past times I’ve ordered contacts. I told her what I was expecting to pay, she was very understanding and put in 110% effort to use discounts and anything possible to keep the price down. She also helped entertain a little girl in the store while the child’s mom was looking around. Everyone was super friendly and personable here and I am so glad I decided to try a new place. Will absolutely be coming back when I get my next pair of glasses or contacts! Thanks guys!

I have been into VisionWorks multiple times at this location either looking at frames, or to buy. The times I was just looking, the associates would not come up to you, but ask if you need help, sitting at their desk. Nobody has offered to help look for frames or get an opinion. One other time I went in, nobody even acknowledged me when I walked in! When I finally chose a frame myself, I went up to a girl at the desk, and as she was typing something on her computer, finally looked up and said, unenthusiastically, "Do you have a question?" I said I wanted to order glasses. She told me to wait at the table until she was done doing her thing at the computer. That took at least 5 minutes. I had a question about my order after that, so I called the store. The older lady on the phone seemed like she wanted to get me off the phone as quick as she could, almost like it was inconvenient to talk to me. I ordered a brand new frame instead of the frame they had on display. They said they'd call when it comes in, but 2 weeks later, I didn't hear anything, so I had to call about it. The lady on the phone was helpful this time, looked up my account, searched around a bit, and asked if I picked up my glasses. I said no that's why I'm calling! after checking in the back some more, she found the frame, but the lenses were not put in them yet. She said nobody was there to do it at the time. I complained about how I've not had a great experience so far. An hour later I get a call from the same lady saying my glasses are done...hmmm. When I (finally) picked up my glasses, the guy that helped me was nice and helpful (he was a supervisor.) He adjusted and cleaned my glasses 2-3 times and everything was good...until later that evening, I put them on and noticed weird reflected lines in my vision. I held them up to the light, and my left lens has all these weird scratches in them! the right lens was too, but not as much. I went back in the next day, showed the lady my lenses, but she could not see the scratches herself. I said they're there, otherwise I would not be here again! She said they'll redo my lenses no charge, but they will only be able to get them done in a week, as the lab manager was not there. I am very disappointed with VisionWorks. I will never do business with them again. I would rather pay double for my glasses at an optometrist's office, or another place, than get the poor customer service I have experienced at Vision Works. I would never recommend Northtown VisionWorks to anyone!

Absolutely horrible been going there for 12 years will NEVERgo back a bunch of crooks was there in May for eye exams didn’t need contacts then so didn’t do the fitting called back since I am out of contacts now to do fitting and I was told nope you need a whole new exam I was just there in May the NEVER once said oh you have to do the lense fitting within 60 days then the lady hung up on me. So now vision works will respond like they are all concerned with what is going on for face value I emailed all info as suggested and chirp chirp nothing

Awful. We were there for 20 minutes and no one greeted us. They weren’t busy. Finally someone greeted us but was annoyed she had to help us. Got the glasses asked her to bill one insurance first then the other insurance. She told me she didn’t have to. I asked her to do it anyways because I knew it would get denied doing it the way she wanted to. She told me no worries it was already approved through the other insurance. I explained it would look like it was, but it wasn’t. We have been through this before with them. She argued with me and told me she knew how to do her job. I was done arguing with her so I let it go. Here we are months later and I got a bill in the mail.... Saying our insurance was denied. I would just avoid this location.

Terrible eye exam experience here. Dr. Hein Pham rushed through it and didn't input prescription & then left, so I had to leave without prescription. Came back, and I had to redo eye exam... ended up thankful for this because Dr. Pham had messed up on what my new Rx was as well (added .50 incorrectly). Costco is cheaper too so no reason to come back (I will say though the staff besides the Dr. Pham, along with the doctor that saw me the second time, were amazing but unfortunately have been turned off)

You all can judge my experience. I had my most recent Rx and wanted to replace two of my glasses (with the new prescription at this place. I was going to get it at LensCrafters, but figured I try to save some money. A few weeks later, I get a phone call saying not one but BOTH of my glasses were broken during the process. I can’t even imagine how this can happen with professionals working with this type of work breaking BOTH glasses frames. I went back to VisionWorks and they apologized for the mishap. They allowed me to pick two frames in the store without paying additional costs. I didn’t care for that and just wanted my own glasses back. They noted when I come back to pick up the new glasses they will return the two broken frames. A few weeks later when I picked up the new glasses they did not return the two broken frames. Which leads me to believe there was something going on with whether it was actually “broken” or this is what they do to keep frames they like that is not sold in the store. I’m likely wrong, but this was just a horrible experience.

I'll start off by saying I normally don't take the time to write or even post reviews for goods or services I receive, but had to make an exception. We visited the Wheaton Plaza location according to my Health Insurance plan they are a "In-Network" provider. My wife and I both needed glasses so my wife ordered hers first and she ordered two pairs which came in after 4 days even though they had to be reordered simply because she needed to upgrade the lens type. I had my vision test in house which went as planned with no issues. I ordered my glasses the next day which they told me they would be ready within 6 to 10 business days. I returned to pick up my glasses and as soon as I looked at them I saw that one of the had a very noticeable scratch in one of the lenses!! I couldn't believe it?.... how did someone not see this? I would think that they would have some kind of quality control to catch things like this. I was told that they would order another lens to replace the one that was scratched. Over a week went by so I decided to call last night to check the status and was told that there was some sort of issue with the lab but they had to remake them but she wasn't sure because she wasn't the one who spoke with them...again NO KIND OF BACKUP OR PAPER TRAIL to cover there bases to answer any kind of valid questions!! I called today to speak with the manager and she told me that she ordered a new pair of glasses not just the lens and that they would not be ready until October 29th as if they were just ordered today!!!!! I see exactly what happened.... They never reordered them in the first place!!! They were ordered either last night or today which means again they dropped the ball and then tried to cover it up but I see right through the bull*%$%!! The manager also has a bad habit of speaking with their customers via a speakerphone which is just rude. I would have given them ZERO STARS if I could but they will NEVER get another dollar from me!!! I will find another place to purchase my glasses from now on!!

Really bad experience at this location. I order glasses and the Lady who took me was really friendly and helpfull , BUT my glasses where never here. I order them at september 15th. Its been more than a month and im still waiting for them. They always told me to call for kimberly the general manager but I called her MORE THAN 5 TIMES!!! in a week , she never call me or never let me talk with her. So if this store have a general manager ... ¿¿WHERE IS THE MANAGER??? They told me to pick a frame again and still the same happened. I ask for a REFUND And Someone told me THEY HAVE TO WAIT FOR MY GLASSES TO GET HERE SO I CAN GET MY REFUND???? THAT DOESNT MAKE ANY SENSE!!!! I want my REFUND because I DONT WANT THE GLASSES NO MORE! ¿¿¿¿Why do I have to wait for them to get a refund???? My question again is... where is the manager to solve this kind of problems?? Why if she a manager she doesnt even care about her customers??? I always called at 1 p.m. and they always said she wasn't here... so is she is manager, at what time does she work??.

I have been here one time to purchase glasses but I shop at several different vision works. Well long story short I brought my glasses in to get a screw replaced and the lady broke my glasses. She was going to get me a new pair but then said they didn't have them in stock. I filed a report and the manager of the northtown vision works reached out to me. She said I have the frames here and you can come get them. I'm guessing free of charge because they are the ones that broke them. But once I got there she tried to offer them to me at 25% off of $200.00. I couldn't believe what the lady was telling me that moment. Because when I talked to her on the phone it sounded like she was going to replace them for free because she NEVER mentioned me buying them when I talked to her on the phone. I was pissed off. She thought I was someone to rip off. But NEVER again will I give my money to vision works. They are NOT helpful. They don't care about your business & they tell you every pair of glasses looks good on you when it really dosent!!! Lol. I have spent about 1,000 dollars here yearly for my glasses and my grandmas glasses but never will I again.

Went in to order contacts. Got told my prescription was expired from one of the ladies. She then said I could schedule an eye exam that day. Even though, a few months prior I had my annual check up at the vision works at rosedale mall. Lady was too ignorant to call the other store in Roseville to confirm after I had suggested it. Bottom line folks, if someone is not willing to go one tiny step further to help out their customers. Why should we do business with them? Vision Works, time to clean house and get some employees with interpersonal skills.

I went to the Visionworks in Wheaton Mall yesterday to get some new glasses. After looking around for a couple of frames I liked for about 45 minutes, I went to go see Charlotte about paying and figuring out details. I planned on doing the 2/$60 but she very patiently and informatively told me that my glasses would need special treatment since my eyes were so poor. Again, she waited as i browsed for one pair that i really like that would work for my insurance. Once i found a new frame, Charlotte was very patient and explained everything so that I could understand. When she had a question she asked Kim who was super friendly and helpful as well. My experience was great and smooth. I look forward to going back to Visionworks whenever i need anything for my terrible eyes again.
