Dr. Guisely has been our family optometrist for over 20 years. We are two adults and two kids who wear glasses, as well as contacts, every day. (more...) He is professional, well educated & keeps up with the latest technology for patient care. My grandchildren have begun their yearly eye exams with Dr. Guisely! Dr. Guisely has treated both eye infections and injuries for my family multiple times. He diagnosed my son’s shingles, which had been incorrectly diagnosed by our PCP, an ER doctor and a pain specialist physician for the previous 10 days after multiple visits to each. A new pair of glasses with progressive lens were made for me 2 years ago. The lines for the trifocal progression were not correct for the size of the frame and my eyes when worn. I returned after one week. My glasses were exchanged for a new pair which were perfect. Whether my eyes were measured incorrectly in the office, or it was the lab who made an error, the issue was rectified immediately. I returned an expensive pair of Kate Spade frames because a temple broke 4 years ago. The frames were replaced through the manufacturer’s warranty. Frames have limited manufacturers warranties just like electronics & appliances. It was not the fault of the office that the frame was defective. You check the warranty when you purchase a vehicle, do the same for your frames. All four of us have always received free trial pairs of contacts. Through the years the brands, types & our eye prescriptions have changed. Each time a different type/brand was recommended we were able to try them for free before a decision was made to purchase. All lenses are guaranteed against any scratches, chips or breakage for one year... regardless of why. Great to have for active kids. Everyone has the ability to shop for the best quality glasses at the best price. Ask for your prescription after your eye exam and purchase them elsewhere if you prefer. The optical staff is a different process after Dr. Guisely has examined your eyes. Please realize you can break the different services if the frame/lens needs don’t meet your criteria in the optical store. Don’t sacrifice the health of your eyes by transferring to another optometrist. I apologize for the length of my post. I read the previous reviews while checking office hours online. I was stunned and wanted to tell my story.

My wife and I have been patients for a long time. Have had our regular check ups and purchased multiple sets of eye glasses. Unfortunately we have become unhappy with the care. Eye exam is fine. Glasses are very over priced and do not last. $500 pair of Maui Jim sun glasses in 2 years the lens started to deteriorate. Frames broke multiple times. $200 pair of bifocals began to "delaminate" after 1 year. Used them until could not see out. Decided to try contacts to avoid prescription glasses. $160 for one contact that I could not use. No effort to rectify this problem. Sorry I think they are over priced and the doctor seems unaware of what is going on with the other areas of the clinic.

Went here for an actual medical issue. Staff missed or ignored the doctor's referral, upsold me on a retina test (which I now know was worthless), sped me through the standard eye exam, and then told me to spend less time in front of the monitor. Was so slow returning the results that it was a month later before my doctor found that they didn't do the test they needed. Not to be trusted with anything more important than a standard eye exam, and even then I wouldn't buy the glasses from them.

I have been going to Gray Family Vision for years. They are very helpful, friendly, and professional. Prices are competitive. They have lots of frames to try on in store, and your glasses are typically in very quickly- which I am sure can vary depending on what you need but mine are in within a week usually.

Don't stand behind their glasses. Purchased prescription glasses here and my eyes suffered from terrible eye strain every day. I work using a computer for 10+ hours a day and thought it I would just have to live with it. I then decided to purchase a second pair to have as spare at home and went to Lenscrafters, just for a less expensive spare pair. What a difference I used them working one day and no eye strain issues and discomfort. Who would have thought the less expensive Lenscrafters glasses would help me substantially. I took the original glasses back to Gray Family and the first thing out of their mouth was we will give your money back. The problem is that the money my insurance company put forth would have been lost and I couldn't qualify for another pair until next year. Then Amy took my glasses and told me that Lenscrafters didn't meet the prescription of the eye doctor?? What - I can see so much better with the Lenscrafters glasses but the prescription isn't right - apparently they thought I would fall for that. Again Amy wanted to give me my money back, my out of pocket expense only and keep the glasses. Don't think so Amy - I need the glasses to prove my glasses which were quite expensive are junk. Maybe that will work with the next customer that complains.
