I was not impressed, I had 3-4 different appointments. And never manage to get my prescription right.

Not upfront about cost of exam,copay or cost of contacts . Infected eye after I said repeatedly that the contact was the wrong size and was told ,against my better judgement,that I would adjust. After styes was told I'd have to pay about fifty or just under for eye care out of pocket,after several visits where I was given the wrong prescription that I never liked or wanted. If contacts hurt ,it's the wrong size .wearing the wrong size can cause infection and blindness.listen to your patients instead of acting like you know their eyes better than them. A waste of money on several apts and still not happy with the prescription.

RUDE front desk staff. I’ve been a receptionist for four years and I would never ever treat people the way these receptionists do. Especially for a 300.00+ eye exam! Unbelievable. Go elsewhere.

I've bee seeing Dr. Haverkamp for years now. She is fantastic! Even when they stopped using the insurance that covers my glasses (now I have to go somewhere else for those), and I started working from home and have closer options, I continue to go to her for eye exams.

Worst communication of any service provider. Over promise !! Under deliver !! Lying to the customer. They don’t respond to emails. I will never return. And will make sure I share my experience with anyone that will listen. Poor service, slow repairs. Not focused on customer. Terrible service !!

When my daughter's glasses broke we went on a Sunday and were amazed that they were able to process her new glasses within an hour. Very sweet people. I know where I'm going to buy my backup glasses for when my contacts are bugging me.

Got there twenty minutes early for an appointment, I sat for barely five minutes before they called me in. Doctor was fast, polite and thorough. They were helpful picking out glasses for me, being my first pair.

My experience was great. The Center has highly professional people. The wait time is quite short. No long waits. My Dr gave me a thorough exam and answered all of my questions concerning my exam.The staff is courtious and very helpful. All your questions are answered. Delivery of your glasses is quick. No long waits to get your glasses. To sum it up. The staff at The Eye Care and Eye Wear Center of Maine is a highly professional and courtious staff dedicated to making your eye care experience a great one.

Check-In process is easy and quick. Wait time to get the appointment started is short, and there are many entertaining magazines to read while you are waiting. Assistants are quick and professional with the pre-exam routines. Doctor was also very friendly, knowledgeable, and proficient. Check-out is also made simple, and all the staff is very friendly. I would highly recommend a friend to join this office.

Actually stopped going here due to the extremely rude receptionist at the front desk. Ended up going to a different eye doctor as it was a much more pleasant experience. I wouldn't recommend going here if it were the last eye center in Maine. Do two separate exams without telling you about the "contact exam" which is additional charge in which your insurance doesn't cover. All set

Normally I would rate this place an easy 4.5+ because they do great work and I've been bringing 5 family members here for years and I've been coming here since they opened in Westbrook many many years ago. BUT, yesterday I just found out they no longer take my VSP Vision Plan Insurance beginning September 1, 2016. I am in shock because I've lost a great benefit and it will cost me LOTS more out of pocket. Eyecare and Eyewear are now "out of network" with VSP Vision Insurance. Also, Eyecare and Eyewear supposedly sent out a letter explaining why they dropped the insurance, but I never received a copy until I asked for one in their office yesterday. Needless to say, I love the staff and the doctors and the quality care I have seen there for over 20 years, but because of this I may need to switch to some other place. I'll still need to call the VSP Vision Plan Insurance people to hear their side of this, but at the moment I am very very disappointed!!!!!

I stopped in here with the missing pad after a long flight the day before, and they fixed it for me without trying to sell me anything. The optician just seem to care about making sure that my glasses fit and were safe and sent me on my way. Thank you!
