Had such a lovely time there!!! The employees are warm, welcoming, and very personable! And so funny!!! I had a really fun time picking out glasses and chatting with them after my eye exam! The doctor was so kind and a great listener. They even recognized me when I came back to pick up my contacts and remembered our first conversation. Amazing! Highly recommend!

I moved up north and had been struggling to find an optometrist I felt comfortable going to. But then I saw Big City was close to my place and had great reviews. I called to set up an appointment and the person that answered the phone (I think it was Emily that day) was extremely sweet, friendly, and helpful. I felt welcomed there even though I had yet to even set foot in the place. I went to my appointment today (7/20/19) and was convinced this is where I would continue to go. Dr. Ritchie was professional and friendly and told me things no other optometrist had told me before. Things that would not affect me for a number of years but that are good things to have in the back of your mind. It was refreshing to have a doctor say “you don’t have to worry about this right now but it’s something to be aware of and have on your radar when you’re in your 40s and 50s.” I appreciated that. When it came time to choose frames Megan and Emily were extremely helpful in choosing frames. They offered their opinions, helped me feel comfortable in what I was choosing, and ultimately got me frames I LOVED. I ended up also getting sunglasses and Megan and Emily worked to see which would be cheaper for me to run thru my insurance and made sure I saved money. All things they didn’t necessarily have to do. This experience was top notch and I will never go anywhere else for my glasses or eye exams. Seriously, everyone should go here!

I would have given it a zero star if I could. They have a very incompetent doctor. She gave me the wrong prescription. I went back complaining of head aches and she said that the prescription she gave me was correct and I should give the new lenses more time. So I got a second opinion and the guess what my prescription was incorrect, I got my lenses updated. The guy in the shop told me that the lenses they gave me were garbage. When I asked for my money back they completely refused to do so instead all I got was a bunch of B.S that does not make sense to me. Please be very careful when you walk in the store and do not trust their doctors

I went this week for an eye exam and new glasses and had an excellent experience! All three people I interacted with were welcoming, warm, and knowledgeable. They took care of me, but without trying to upsell. Lilly helped me find some great news frames, and they were actually one of the cheapest I had been looking at. With my insurance, they were an incredible deal as well. I will be happy to go back (and maybe even in one year instead of the three it'd been since I'd had my eyes checked last)

The Discreet Charm of an Eye-wear Boutique I'm generally not satisfied in this modern life of ours until I have argued with a clerk, disagreed with a doctor and fought a bloodthirsty battle with an insurance company. None of that happened at Big City Optical. And yet here I am content, peaceful, happy even. Is this that Zen thing? I hear people talk about it all the time but I'm not one to take up with fads. Seriously, it was a 100 percent good experience. The optometrist was knowledgeable and had a gentle sense of humor. The folks up front are amazing and helped me with my insurance and knew how to extract the information needed to get the process rolling. Everyone at Big City Optical seems to enjoy being there, which is a pleasant change of pace and made me enjoy being there. It is so pleasant that they could open a cafe on the side and serve coffee and espresso and orange-cranberry scones. Eating a scone and trying on frames, I can think of worse ways to spend a day but I cannot think of a better place to go for your eye needs, from glasses to an exam, the folks at Big City Optical will take great care of you in style.

Awesome service and even better people. Dr. Richie was very nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. Emily was amazing and so much help. She was very patient, even at closing time. She told me the honest truth about every pair of glasses I tried and even brought in some second/third opinions. Would recommend to just about anyone.

Now that I have new glasses, I can clearly see how amazing the service is! Seriously though, Chuck is amazing and extremely helpful with finding perfect frames and making the whole process easy. The eye exam was smooth and any questions I had were beyond adequately answered! All in all service was incredible and very professional.

Awesome service and a great collection of frames. Usually, I only find 1 or 2 frames that I like at most eye doctors or eyeglass shops. These guys have a great selection of stylish glasses and I debated between 6 different pairs. Dr Takesuye was extremely kind and thorough. I'd been having intense eyeball headaches for years and he solved them in a matter of minutes by decreasing my contact lens prescription. I have a lot of chronic pain, so any decrease really makes a difference. He told me I have high ocular pressure and then very patiently and professionally talked me down off a metaphorical OMG DO I HAVE GLAUCOMA AM I GOING BLIND OMG AGGGGHHHHH ledge. I'm glad he knows what he's talking about, and I'll definitely be coming back for follow-up appointment. It's hard to find good care, especially someone who is familiar with neurological special needs. The staff are fantastic and friendly and got my insurance verified before I even came in, and they have a gorgeous space with super cool frames.

The staff at BCO has been incredibly helpful helping me with my most recent set of prescription glasses. After Lenscrafters declined to produce lenses for my prescription, BCO has helped me get lenses produced, but also troubleshoot and fine-tune frame-selection and other variables that have made getting into my newest pair of glasses fairly complicated. The BCO staff has spent a lot of time working through this process with me, and even gave me a "2nd opinion" exam to help further dial in lenses that would work for me. All the stars!

Very friendly doctor and staff. I was able to schedule online a day ahead of time for a Sunday appointment, which was a pleasant surprise. When I arrived, my paperwork was pre-filled based on my online appointment form responses and they had my insurance benefit information at-the-ready. Definitely recommend!
