Very rude and aggressive service! I went in for an COMPREHENSIVE eye exam, wearing contact lens and they did not give me an contact evaluation. When I went to pick up a copy of my prescription and saw that my contacts were not listed, they told me that they only gave me a routine eye exam. I went for a comprehensive exam! When I called them, they said that the COMPREHENSIVE EYE EXAM does NOT include a contact evaluation!! THAT IS NOT A COMPREHENSIVE EYE EXAM AT THAT POINT! They told me that I would have to pay $120 out of pocket for the contact evaluation plus more for the contacts and that they would not contact my insurance company even though my insurance said that they would cover it!!!! They are trying to scam people out of their money for things that should be covered by insurance. They DO NOT have a WRITTEN policy stating the details of a COMPREHENSIVE EYE EXAM!!!! They claim that they will only tell you verbally which they do not! They lied to my insurance company stating that my contacts are for cosmetic use when my contacts would be PRESCRIPTION CONTACTS!!!! They are very offensive, talks over the customer, constantlly "drops calls" and very disappointing. Do not speak to the two ladies Gabbie and Nora! Very negative place! All other eye offices give you an exam for BOTH the contacts and glasses at ONE TIME!!!! SAVE YOURSELF THE STRESS AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Every year I go to Buena Vista Optical for my contact lense which i get in 2 weeks and i don't have to wait a whole month like in other places. I like the staff their very nice and friendly the best part they have a play area for kids. My 2 year old son can play and enjoy while i am getting my eyes exam. I like they have a variety of colors for eye contacts. I will be back next year!

I have taken both my sons and myself to Buena Vista Optical because I like the comprehensive exams they offer, which chain stores like Pearl or America's Best do not offer. The doctor reviews the results of all the tests given by the technician and then gives a full eye exam. I personally have seen 2 of the doctors and like how they explain everything. I feel extremely comfortable that our eyes are in great care, no detail has been missed. My son has gotten fitted for glasses and sports goggles. I have contact lenses and glasses. Buena Vista Optical works with your insurance to find the best glasses at the best price. The girls fitting you for glasses are nice and friendly, especially Gabi who my son adores. If you want a professional and thorough eye exam and want top of the line, quality eye wear go to Buena Vista Optical!

The eye exam was very thorough, everyone that that I interacted with was professional, knowledgeable, efficient and kind. They dont have lots of glasses to choose from insurance and I know it isnt the same without insurance the glasses will last you years they have good quality. Its just the problem is that you have to wait weeks maybe months for them to test you and see you and this one of the close,best eye glasses store so if you need glasses make sure you get appointment right away. So they have othet people to see and sometimes we have to wait since they dont have many docters to see people. But if we want cheap glasses that will last you go here but only jse glassea if you need them. plus if they make you wait a month or weeks then just go to another eye glasses docter

I've been coming to this place for about ten years. Although they do a lot of upselling, I always enjoyed their service. Today, I did a quick stop with no appointment just to pick a frame for my daughter and since I knew exactly what we wanted quickly selected a basic frame. Careny assumed I was paying cash or I had no insurance I'm not sure but she quoted me $101. When I told her I wanted to used my insurance, all of a sudden is a different price for the frame $159 plus the lenses and I would have an out of pocket expense. When I questioned the price change she had an attitude and she told me "Well if you want to buy them here or if not you can buy them somewhere else!" Careny sweetheart you just made your boss lose 3 long time customers! If you work with the public you need to know how to speak to your customers!

I've been to a lot of eye doctor's during my lifetime and this has by far been the best experience I've had. The doctors took their time with me and made sure they had the correct prescription for my eyes. I came In with broken glasses and as soon as I met with a doctor she looked for a cheap frame that could fit my lenses. Unfortunately there weren't any that fit my lenses but the fact that she went out of her way to look made me feel great about the service. Not only were the doctors great but the woman who helped me pick out a frame was exceptional as well. She gave me opinions on frames that fit me well and offered me frames that I originally hadn't seen. Overall, my experience here was exceptional and amazing. I will definitely be coming here from now on.

Terrible!!! They are very unprofessional. And this place is over priced. They charged me over a $100 dollars for my 4 year old glasses and I went online these same glasses cost me $23.95. I called in to get my sons presription and they wanted to charge me $50 for the PD. Dont go here. Its plenty of opticals with better service and way lower pricing.

I have been going to Buena Vista sine 2008 and in my opinion they seem to treat the Hispanics better than the African American people. There was one time were I was waiting for my appointment and they kept sending people in ahead of me mind you I made it there at 9am and did not leave that office until 4pm although I had an appointment. I stood up and demanded to speak with there boss and that's when i made him aware of my appointment time and he swiftly apologized for their behavior and took me to the back for my vision test. I have bough several pairs of glasses from Buena Vista and frankly I think they are too expensive and they need to include warranties for free at least on children frames as much as the glasses cost there. They have good presentation when you walk in it is beautiful and nicely decorated, always clean.

First time there, best experience ever! My appointment was 2 weeks ago, I thought it would be 'in and out'...as my appointment 4 years ago was at a different very unprofessional place. It was a tad, just a tad longer than expected...BUT, the staff is VERY professional. They do not rush and make sure things are done right. :) In the larger waiting room there was a TV with health tips, great information, and even some jokes! I was entertained, and it wasnt 'kiddie' information, it was information applicable to all age groups. It was a blessing/encouraging to see many women on staff

This place is one of the only places that takes my insurance. When I went online to check their website I was pretty impressed. The receptionists ares very nice and professional. I do have to mention that they are strict with their scheduling. If you schedule an appointment and confirm it and do not show up they will charge you a fee. That's okay with me because I always like to be responsible with my appointments. As far as the eye exam goes it was Awesome. They took pictures of my eyeball and showed them to me. They did a test for glaucoma and screened for diabetes. They do not charge extra for these tests which is nice. The glasses shop has over a thousand different frames to choose from. They told me they get new frames every week. They have a lab on premises so I was able to get a pair of glasses with transitions and anti reflective in one hour. I saw another pair that I want to get in a couple of months when my insurance kicks in again.

I always have a great experience at Buena Vista Optical. Been a patient there since 2007 and will keep going every year. I heard about them from my cousin and I was so satisfied with the service, the products and the follow up I received that I had to spread the word to other family members. The doctors explain all diagnosis and the staff is well trained in helping to pick the right pair of glasses. Dr Sims is the best and the staff is very helpful throughout the process. I do have to say, if you want an "in and out" type of eye exam and don't care much about styles, your eye health or product quality, don't bother to make an appointment. They are the best at all 3.

Buena Vista Optical was the kind of place where i thought my family and i would always get quality care specially now that they have faster service after going paperless with patient's records and expanding their eyeware selection and the extra room they have . However, as time has passed their custumer service got very bad to the point where recepcionist roll eyes and speak rudely just like maria did to me today when i went to pick up my son's 2nd set of glasses , i showed her how the frame i previously bought my son two months ago started to peel all around and she tells me theres nothing they can do because they dont have a warranty that the price tag should tell me they are of poor quality , in my opinion that is not a way to respond to a customer, price tags dont have a big mouth like her's to tell me "hey i'm on sale because im of poor quality ".. so i asked to speak to a manager hoping i would get help but it was just a waste of time since isabel wasnt able to help me either, they were both good at making me feel as if i was bothering them with my questions and the need of finding a solution for my son's frame. i was very very upset ,Buena Vista Optical needs managers and personnel that are willing to provide quality service to every patient at all times regardless of race,sex and method of payment. they must keep in mind that a satisfy customer makes their checks possible.

I came here the other day for the first time in forever that I've had my eyes looked at, and I can say with confidence that this is THE place to be for your eyecare needs! After telling a good friend of mine that I haven't been to the eye doctor in 13 years (*tsk, tsk* *gasp* *you lazy bum*...go on, I've heard them all), she asked me to come along and see her eye doctor at Buena Vista. Having had a not-so-relaxing experience at the local mall's LensCrafters all those years ago, I say yes, because at least I'll have support if I feel uncomfortable. When we arrived at the shop, I was immediately drawn to the awning, with the cute pink polka dots. I said to myself, "Oh, that's cute!" But when I went inside, I was amazed! It didn't look anything like a sterile eyewear consultant's office. It looked like a trendy boutique! Adorable mannequins with colorful wigs, fun artwork, bric-a-brac from various places, even a little kitchenette play area for kids. Knowing that a place such as this can be fun with their decor immediately put me at ease, as I am also very laid-back. The staff is very warm and welcoming, from filling out the paperwork, to examining the eyes, to picking out a cute pair of frames. Dr Sims is amazing and patient, and took the time to answer my very silly questions. He was also gentle during the eye exam; no need to dilate my eyes with those horrible drops (woo hoo!). I really appreciate that he didn't give me grief for neglecting my eye exams (unlike so many doctors and dentists out there). Diana is very knowledgeable regarding styles and what kinds of frames would work on my face. Despite my cheap $5 heart-shaped sunglasses from Five Below, I am picky about my frames. If I'm going to have a necessary pair of glasses to wear for years, then I want to look damn fabulous, and Diana has been nothing short of helpful in that department. She was extremely patient as I waded through what must have been 50 pairs of glasses, and was honest with me if a pair didn't work with me. It's clear that she wanted me to be satisfied with my purchase, and not just selling the most expensive designer pair in the store. I will be coming back soon to pick up my glasses and some other accessories, and I can't wait to take a look at the adorable eyeglass cases. Who says that wearing glasses has to be nerdy? Buena Vista makes getting glasses fun (at least for me). I don't care if I'm coming all the way from Schaumburg, I will absolutely bypass the Pearles, LensCrafters, and America's Bests to come here. Thank you all sooooooooooooooo much from the bottom of my perky little heart! P.S. If your vision insurance sucks eggs (like mine), the staff will work with your budget to get you the best possible option. So don't worry about a thing!

From the moment you walk into Buena Vista Optical, you know you're in good hands. They greet you with a big smile and hello/hola (they're bi-lingual). The front desk is very professional and they acknowledge you right away. The wait time is very minimal and you're taken care of right away. The doctor is very informative and professional. They explain what tests you are going to have and explain why. When they review the results, they are very patient and explain in a way everyone can understand. The assistants (especially Vanessa) are very friendly and engage you in small talk to help you relax. Everyone at the office is dressed professional and they're are plenty of employees that can help you. Their selection of new and engaging eye wear and accessories are quite impressive. I was really impressed to see so many brands and styles, including work glasses and glasses for athletes. They accept almost every insurance plan and also offer a way for people without insurance to pay. This company works with everyone to ensure you and your eye glass needs are taken care of. I could NOT be more happy with my experience with Dr. Sims, and his employees. I highly recommend Buena Vista Optical!

I went into the store and was registered quickly. The employees there are always kind and welcoming to talk to. The receptionist helped me choose very nice glasses and helped me see what were my options interns of offering protection to my eyesight. I will definitely recommend this place for anyone who needs glasses. They do a very well job.

El servicio tardo horas y para que al final mis lentes no me sirvieran llame por qué veía hasta colores diferentes y el aumento no es el adecuado y cuando quiero leer algo veo mas peor :( y solo me dijeron que era por qué no me acostumbraba aún llevo más de dos semanas usándolos y no veo cambio será que me timaron? Y luego me dijeron que me me iban a volver a cobrar si yo quería una nueva cita para checar el aumento :( me siento mal por que trabaje mucho para comprarlos y solo ya los tengo guardados por qué no me sirven. Bought a new pair of glasses had to return 5 times to try and get glasses adjusted. Establishment does not have proper equipment to measure patients face. Over charge of cost and hidden fees for contact exam and take home trials. Would not recommend for contact service's

OMG! Just left the Optical with a huge smile on my face! I got the most detailed eye exam ever. Found out I needed a new prescription and the doctor explained everything clearly (thanks Dr. Mobini!) Got 3 pairs of glasses from La Vida *Unique line only @ Buena Vista Optical. Also I had Gaby and Leslie help me choose the perfect pair of sunglasses for my face size! I Loved the style! Best part is that I get my prescription in the sunglasses as well! Can't wait...you guys made my day! Thank you!!! And thank you Gaby for explaining my options!!! You guys are #1!!!

If I could give no stars I would. They have screaming children and dont say anything to the parents and if ur appointment is at 12 they make u wait over an hour and call people who just walked in. So disorganized unless u gossip with them and they see u right away. Horrible I will never go there again. Waste of time!!! They seriously need to schedule better.

Al entrar las recepcionistas me dieron la bienvenida con una gran y sincera sonrisa, me encanto! Al registrar a mi hija vi que tenían una sección para que los niños jueguen y lo tenian muy limpio y organizado. Al llamar a mi hija para entrar a su examen, Julia y Arasil fueron muy amable y paciente con mi hija ya que estaba un poco inquieta. La tecnología y máquinas que usan son impresionante! Me enseñaron las pupilas de mi hija lo cual nunca en otro lugar lo an echo y me explico la doctora el diagnóstico de mi hija y me ayudo con las dudas que tenia. Luego me ayudo Brenda a escogerle a mi hija los lentes perfectos para su carita y me gustó como me ofrecía lo mejor para mi niña por lo cual compré dos lentes a un buen precio! Me gusto la variedad de lentes que ofrecen es impresionante los quería todos!

Very nice staff. Place needs a little updating. Not enough chairs for the amount of patients the book. They need more selection for men's. Took me to long and to little frames. I had to sit by the entrance and the exam room is on the other side of hallway. Need more space, to many people standing.

I wasted my one free yearly exam at this place. I went to buy glasses and it was terribly overpriced. I said I just want my prescription, and they gave me incomplete information! I can't even buy my glasses elsewhere because they gave me a partial prescription! ***In reply to your response: I paid for a full exam with my insurance. Pupillary distance was not what I was referring to. You refused to give me my complete prescription because I refused to buy your overpriced glasses. I take offense to you assuming I couldn't afford your products. My exam was great, but you withheld it at a $50 ransom. My insurance paid for a complete eye exam. I took your prescription elsewhere and they told me I didnt have nearly enough information.

I've been coming here to get my glasses and contacts, the workers here are very helpful in giving customer service to people. The only time we had an issue was when they confused my prescription because I have astigmatism, but it was resolved fast.

The only reason this place is getting a three star is because I had to pay a fee because I had made an appointment before and confirmed it but didn't show up because one of my kids got sick. So I guess I'm pissed because I had to pay the fee but in reality I did confirm and didn't call back to cancel the appointment. The eye exam was very good. The equipment is all new. They do an eye exam with a bunch of tests which they do not do at other places. The place is really clean. The doctor and the medical staff were very professional and I will definitely be coming next year.
