Had a great experience at Advantage Eye Center! Everything was handled very efficiently. Fast and friendly service. Was able to have a quality eye exam by Dr. Nave and was able to obtain my glasses on the same day! Frame selection was good, the guy that made my lenses (in store!) knew what he was doing and did a great job and the employee who helped with fitting them when they were done did an excellent job. All in all a good experience.

Advantage Eye Centers was so-so. They have a great selection of frames, friendly Opticians, and the kid doing the pre-testing was great. But the exam was very rushed and it didn't seem thorough at all. The Dr. was in and out in a few minutes and didn't seem to want to answer questions. To my knowledge, he didn't even look at the results from the pre test (at least he didn't comment on them) and snapped at the pre tester in front of us...which was very awkward. We arrived 30 minutes early to view the frames but didn't go back and start the exam until 30 minutes AFTER our appointment was scheduled. They said they had to wait until they got in touch with our insurance company until they could start. Which is totally not true since i used to work for an Optometrist. Overall, my suggestion would be to get your appointment elsewhere and go to Advantage Eye Centers for frames and lenses.

Nate Nave is not so friendly person. We took my nephew in for his appointment Doctor Nave told my nephew that he was faking it to get glasses. He told him that there is no problems with his eyesight. The poor kid can't see to and from where he was in class last school year. Kid couldn't see far distance and up close. He couldn't get the right letter's or say the ones he's reading. We had a problem with them. I don't recommend going to them period. He made smart remarks about my nephew. He can't see. Recommend going to a different place to take my nephew to. If I had my way I would of ditched the place when he was not in a very good mood yesterday. Please tell anyone about Eye Advantage don't go there.

I have been a patient for many years at Advantage Eye Center. I now travel over 700 miles each way to continue my relationship with Advantage Eye Center. The staff is very friendly and Dr. Nave is extremely knowledgeable. I have never had a bad experience or negative issue when either coming in the office or when calling the office. I would strongly recommend Advantage Eye Center to anyone needing an eye exam, glasses or contacts.

This place is amazing! Appointment was scheduled on short notice and the exam was thorough. Insurance and billing were straight forward and prices were very reasonable. Cassie was great doing the pre-testing and very knowledgeable on the many different lense and frame options. I love my glasses and can see better with them, for both near and far vision, than previous glasses I’ve gotten elsewhere. I would highly recommend Advantage Eye Care.

Dr. nave was great like every year! But they didn't care to tell me upon check in that my insurance(just barley got it) has a 40$ copay for contact exam(whatever they call it) I had enough money on my healthcare card to cover to $39 that I went over on my contact allowance but not 79$ (due to another bill I have to pay). I told them to forget the contacts ill order on contact lens king for HALF the price for 1 BOX. they continued to talk and agreed to reduce my copay to $20 now (so $59 instead of 79$) and the other $20 when I pick up my contacts. Again I said no thanks! Every freaking year I come here I have issues. Last year I had NO medical insurance(paying out of pocket) and it was freaking nightmare. So now here I am on my last pair of contacts and can't do anything I get my taxes!

My boyfriend's eye had been bothering him for some time; yesterday he decided to finally call Advantage Eye Center to see if he could get it looked at - he was able to get right in on what appeared to be a very busy Saturday morning for them. We were quickly escorted back to a room and in several minutes Dr. Nave arrived; he was very friendly, personable, and professional. He took a look at the eye and noted a few eyelashes that were causing the irritation - by that time, my boyfriend's eye was incredibly red and inflamed. The lashes were removed and my boyfriend was given some eye drops - the entire procedure took about 10 minutes and we left. No charge and no hassle. It was a great experience and I only wish I could have stayed longer to look at their huge selection of frames!

If you think you are getting a great deal on an eye exam, think again! I was given one price when I called in to inquire about prices and set up an appointment. When I came in for the exam, they pulled out a sheet showing the other exams you need to have done which ended with a cost $30 more than they had told me over the phone. The final price was in the average range, but I hated feeling like I was lied to. Just be honest and tell people the full amount instead of tricking them with a misleading low price!

Been 2 years in a row. Last year, they tried to charge me to learn how to put contacts in since I had never purchased contacts from them. This year, because I didn't want to purchase a lot from them, the person helping me made it feel like I was being a hassle when I wanted the prescription for the eye exam I just paid for. I won't be returning next year.

Very professional and friendly! Recently I got a prescription for glasses from another doctor who has since retired. So I needed to get glasses and have them fitted. I am new to this so didn't really know what to look for in frames etc... The staff there were very helpful and a technician, the one that makes the lenses, even came out from the back and helped me through the whole process. When there are hundreds of styles of frames to choose from this was a great help in deciding what looks good or not and what will hold up in my line of work. I still have some fine tuning to do on the fit but this is in my court and in no way reflects on them. I just need to get over there and do it. Thanks guys!

My children age 1 and 2 had a great time for their first visit. The front desk was nice and got us back quickly. My children usually leave the doctors screaming and they were all smiles leaving here. I would definitely recommend this place for your family's eyecare needs.

I've been visiting this clinic for several years. My family and I like the service we receive there. When they have specials on their frames (i.e., buy one get one 50% off) their prices are comparable to online frame warehouses but with the added benefit of in-town repair and warranty replacement. My son had a growth on his eye and Dr. Nave examined it closely and made the decision to refer us to a specialist who could remove the growth. I appreciate this professionalism as many doctors try to treat issues in areas they should refer to specialists. They also have a friendly staff and a HUGE selections of frames - the best selection in Idaho Falls. UPDATE 8/25/15 Unfortunately, my opinion of Advantage Eye Center has changed. While Dr. Nave continues to be a competent eye doctor, his staff leaves much to be desired. The last time I was in this business, his staff repeatedly spoke poorly of me when I was out of earshot (the didn't realize that my adult sister was sitting in the waiting area). They were extremely rude. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to Advantage. They continue to have an amazing selection of frames and a good doctor -- it's too bad the staff is so terrible.

I cracked one of my lenses on a job so I wanted to get them replaced. Advantage Eye care gave me exceptional service especially from the the guys in the lab!! They’re price was cheaper than where I usually go, even when I got a 20% discount. I got to use my same frames even. A special shout out to Tony Alwine for doing such a great job on cutting down my lenses as well!! I totally had a new look

Not professional all, charged too much for crappy service, and got my wife's prescription wrong, and then tell us we have to pay for the right prescription when they messed up... I suggest not using this place for your eyes if you value your eye sight.. would give minus 5 stars if I could!!!!

Doing Business with Advantage Eye Center was like being at home with family. From my initial contact with Marco on the phone to the moment I walked out and feeling like I was saying goodbye to a loved one. They are a very fun and exciting Team! They worked together flawlessly and even when things (issues) came up, they handled them with the Professional courtesy that anyone would appreciate. If you are new to eye care be very careful here! I came here for an eye exam to get new glasses. After I was rushed through all the "routine" exams and the doctor spent less than ten minutes determining my new prescription, I came out to a huge bill. After TWO forms of insurance. Watch out of their unnecessary exams they won't mention to you prior but will charge you for after. On top of that...my prescription is completely wrong. The second I put the glasses on I knew they were wrong. The tech told me to call in a few days if it didn't seem right. I called. I was told this was normal and to call back. After getting a second opinion. This is not normal. They didn't care about my concern until after I posted on their Facebook. I'm too uncomfortable to return to this establishment and would rather take the loss. They are not professional at all.

This place is a complete joke. I was just getting safety glasses. First they a checked and assured I could get the same ones I got there last time, that changed a week later. When I got my glasses the gal had no clue how to fit them to my face. They would not let me adjust them at their facility I ended taking them and adjusting them myself. Totally incompetent staff.

VERY SHADY, UNPROFESIONAL, UNETHICAL, I WAS TOLD THE BILL WOULD BE ONE FIGURE AND THEN RECEIVED A MUCH, MUCH HIGHER BILL THAN QUOTED. THE EXAM WAS VERY QUICK, TO QUICK TO DETERMINE ANYTHING. THE ONE THAT DID THE EXAM (NAVE) WAS VERY RUDE AND VERY ABRUPT, WHEN I ASK A QUESTION, IT SEEM TO UPSET HIM. I REGISTERED A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB AND MEDICARE. STEER CLEAR OF THIS SO CALLED BUSINESS.

I have always enjoyed my trips to Advantage. I want my vision to have the very best care available. And I know that is what I've always gotten from Dr. Nave. Even though I no longer live in the Idaho Falls area, I travel there when I need an exam or glasses. I don't want to go anywhere else. And the staff always tries to find me every discount available to me. One time I even thought they'd have to pay me for coming there. Would ABSOLUTELY NOT recommend this place! I scheduled an appointment a week in advanced and asked them how much my insurance would cover. They consistently told me they will call me back the following day and let me know.. I was never contacted. 4 SEPARATE occasions, 4 separate phone calls leading up to my appointment and absolutely no info was provided! Each time they said “ we’ll contact your provider and get back to you” they never did.. The 4th time the lady who answered requested my FULL SSN and that she would contact me the following day, SHE DID NOT. Seems sketchy, right? They’re a bunch of lazy people who I wouldn’t trust at all!! Go anywhere BUT this shady place!

They are righting the wrong that had happened and she apologized over and over for what had happened. I am so glad that they care so much for their customers and absolutely want each and every one of them to have the best experience. I have had MULTIPLE issues with these guys. They charged me for a contact exam when I asked for a glasses exam and then when I called to obtain the prescription after I was charged for it, they told me I never came back to complete the exam...... but I was never told anything about it. When we went in for an annual exam they tried to charge us OUTRAGEOUS copays (in network with my insurance), and when I contacted another office they were HALF the price with the same in network insurance. The price they tried charging me was $15 less than cash price. They tried to tell me by law they had to charge these..... Not EVER going back or recommending to anyone.

I too had a bad experience with this shady business. Dr. Nave was very rude and unresponsive. His help quoted one price than told me later a higher price because they forgot to charge for something that was distinctly talked about during my order process. Prices were 40-50% higher than my last eye care center. I suggest you go somewhere else unless you want to be treated like dirt. My wife and I cancelled our orders and will not go back. I'm also going to contact my insurance and file a complaint against Advantage Eye Center. Wow don't think this business will last very long. Call everyone you know and warn them not to let this business take advantage of those you care about. Thanks for nothing Advantage Eye Center.

I recently got some motorcycle glasses from advantage eye center. The staff were exceptional to work with. They recommended improvements to what I picked out to make my riding experience more enjoyable. I picked them up today and went for a ride and was so extremely impressed!!! They are so clear and comfortable. You don't know what your missing until you see things through new glasses! Thank you Dr. Jerry Nave and your staff for being so professional and easy to work with plus your overall knowledge of what would make my would make my riding more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend them to all my family and friends.

They are good with custom glasses but, I would not waste your money on there anti scratch coating. I did, my lenses were scratched and had smudges that would not clean off with in 3 month. I took them back and they reluctantly said they would make it right one time even thou I had purchased there insurance. They had my glasses for a week. When I got them back they were better but, not great and they have gotten worse.I clean as recommended and have not done any thing that should damage them other than wear them, so I figure it must be inferior coating.

They are fantastic about getting you in for last minute appointments and taking care of whatever you need quickly. The entire staff is so helpful and knowledgeable. Doctor Nave is very good about explaining things and helping you through every situation. I highly recommend Advantage Eye Centers!
