I have been going to the Honolulu Eye Clinic for nearly 5 years now. Though I've recently moved to Los Angeles, I still plan on making my annual appointment with them! Their office is super clean, their staff extra friendly, and you are always well taken care of! If you are looking for an Ophthalmologist in the Honolulu area-- This is your place!!

Beautiful, clean clinic with amazing staff and doctors. Everything in Honolulu Eye Clinic from the easy parking at Queens to the coffee and kids room is great! More importantly my family has had the best experience with Dr.Rupa Wong and all of the Drs on staff. We had to see Dr. Rupa Wong when my son had a horrible eye infection. We tried other doctors and knew our situation needed top notch doctors. We tried every natural method before having to do surgery on my sons eye at 4 years old! As a totally paranoid germaphobe Mom I was beyond grateful for the way it all turned out. The scars are very minimal and they handled every crazy phone call I made very professional to be reassured that he would be ok. My husband later switched over to Honolulu Eye Clinic because of his vision causing headaches. After a diligent exam he received a new contact prescription and now has zero headaches from his vision. They really care about each patient. Best eye clinic in Hawaii!

I saw Dr. Rupa Wong for my first botox injection. She made sure I did not feel any pain and with her background as a Harvard trained surgeon, I totally trusted her with injections around my eyes. I saw amazing results after only three days and I will only see Dr. Wong for my future botox treatments. Her staff is very friendly and helpful. The office is beautiful and the office sells great designer eye glasses. I can only give her and the office the highest rating.

Great first impression . Nice office w/ lotsa comfy chairs and friendly staff . Dr. Rupa Wong has great energy ! I was assisted by Kristel on my first Visit and Joel on my second. Both were very helpful , informative and made it a easy experience . I have since purchased new frames and another pair of Oakley glasses . I will be back !

I called to make an appt for a Lasiks consultation. She asked me my insurance (which I am not sure why, since it is my understanding insurance does not cover this anyway). She put me on hold then came back to tell me the doctor is no longer doing Lasix. I had a suspicion about this because their website says they do it and just the way she acted when she realized what kind of insurance I have which is not good. So I had my mother in law call back the next day and ask if they did Lasix. She once again said "Yes we do" then proceeded to ask for insurance. My mother in law said she would pay cash. She was put on hold. The girl came back and said the Dr. is no longer doing Lasix. Shortly after, I am talking to my neighbor and she mentions she is getting Lasix. I ask her to give me the info because I need a doctor. Guess where she is going. Honolulu Eye Clinic. I don't understand what is going on over there. I suggest they come up with some kind of better explanation, like we are too busy right now, or we are only doing the service for existing clients, or whatever. Otherwise it just upsets people who know they appear to be handpicking their clients based on the answer they give to the insurance questions??

I am always impressed by the professionalism, capability, efficiency, and friendliness of the staff. I called to make an appointment and was able to see Dr. Jeff Wong 2 days later - I was impressed by the ease of making an appointment, how quickly I was seen, and how competent each staff member was. Dr. Wong answered each of my questions in a way that was easy to understand and with great patience. I always have a great visit and would recommend Honolulu Eye Clinic to anyone!

Since I was born, I struggled with amblyopia (lazy eyes) and strabismus (crossed eyes) in both my right and left eye. I went through every treatment imaginable throughout my childhood. Eye patches, surgery, glasses, more surgery, eyeglasses with one side blacked out, holistic healing, my parents did everything they could to get my eyes straight. After years of corrective procedures, the right one was straight but the left one (the stubborn one) refused to collaborate with my right eye in any way shape or form. At 30, I had come to accept that my eyes just were not going to work right regardless of what treatment I received. I was just going to have to deal with the headaches and double vision. I went to Dr. Rupa Wong for a standard checkup to get my new prescription for my terrible eyeballs, and halfway through my examination, she mentioned that she specialized in strabismus surgery, and could absolutely fix my left eye. I was skeptical, all I had been hearing up to that point from a number of specialists was "it was the best they could do" and "closest it could get" to being straight. Still, I went through the process of getting evaluated and scheduled a surgery on both eyes to fix the issue. Dr. Rupa's confidence throughout the process, from the evaluation to the pre-surgery, to the day of, got me through the unfathomable anxiety I was feeling up to that point. I wanted to bail 1,000 times, and actually did for the first surgery, but her reassurances actually got me to the surgery center in October 2017. I was terrified. The 2.5-hour surgery could not have gone better. I felt no pain or grogginess, it was over (to me) in a matter of seconds. When I woke up I was floored at how straight my eyes were. I actually started crying because for decades I believed it would never happen. Thankfully, it went unnoticed because my eyes were bleeding. Even the recovery was (mostly) painless. My eyes are now 100% straight, I am much more confident on a day-to-day basis, my headaches and double vision are completely gone, and I have a new lease on life. None of this could have been possible without the skill and professionalism of Dr. Rupa Wong. I cannot recommend her enough. She has improved my vision, my confidence, and my overall quality of life. If you're looking for an eye doctor you should contact Dr. Rupa Wong.

I took my son to this clinic as I was referred out by tricare. Upon arrival everything was great, staff is very polite. However, it took longer to drive there than the time we spent with the doctor. Not only did she miss an existing cataracts in my son’s eye but Dr. Wong completely missed another one that started developing in his other eye. I was persistent about it and expressed that there was one that he’s had for years and she continued to tell me that it wasn’t there. I was not very satisfied with the visit so I called his PCM to request a new referral for a second opinion. The doctor agreed and had us see the ophthalmologist at Tripler. Way better experience!

Honolulu Eye Clinic takes care of my entire family’s eyes. Their commitment to not only vision but overall eye healthy is a priority in their practice. The level of professionalism and care exceeds expectations for both children and adults alike. I like how I can see an optometrist for my eyes which are very healthy with strong vision; but my husband can utilize an ophthalmologist and their optical care department for his needs. I personally acredit Dr Rupa Wong for saving my daughter’s vision. She is an extremely qualified pediatric ophthalmologist, who not metaphorically- but quite literally wrote the book on how to perform the surgery for one of the most common issues in children’s eyes. My daughter has a number of eye diagnostics which I would have previously thought needed a Dr on the mainland. Dr Rupa has been with us every step of the way for almost 4 years, and I can attest to the fact that one could not find better care anywhere else. I have arbitrarily met families on the beach who travel here from the mainland to see her. The staff at HEC is warm, friendly, and accommodating. I have personally had great experiences with both Dr Bossert and Dr Jeff Wong. I strongly recommend this family run practice for any family’s eye health needs.

Dr. Rupa Wong made my sons appointment very comfortable. I left with much better understanding of what has been going on with his eyes for years. And for the first time in a long time I feel like we have a plan and a goal. The staff is amazing and very welcoming! The kids waiting room was just an added bonus that helped make it not stressful. ( I didn't have to worry about my younger child being louder in the regular waiting room. )

I had an outstanding experience with Honolulu Eye Clinic! While on my last day of vacation, I stopped by the office without an appointment. Even though I came in after business hours, the doctor gladly gave me an examination & removed the foreign matter that had plagued my eye since the night before (a small sand grain). My eye feels great now! Everyone, from the office staff to Dr Rupa Wong, made me feel at home & were extremely professional. I highly recommend Honolulu Eye Clinic.

I LOVE THEM! they have the best staff ever they are sweet and kind, and very patient with my daughter that loves to do drama sometimes, they always have a smile and Mrs. Rupa Wong, have been my daughters ophthalmologist for almost 3 years now, i would not change my honolulu clinic because they have no replacement for them. I totally recommend this place you will love it too.

I would never even think of going anyplace else. Excellent care for the last ten? fifteen? twenty? years. I lost count. Recently had cataract surgery on my left eye. Dr. Jeff. Excellent. Dr. Bossert; I used to go for her excellent care; now, I think I go to check out her shoes, too. (next time you visit, ask her about her shoes)

Dr. Rupa was absolutely amazing with my daughter. The whole staff was amazing. We went to Dr. Rupa for 2 years while stationed in Hawaii. My daughter is autistic and she did everything in her power to make my daughter comfortable. She always explained everything about my daughter’s diagnosis’ and treatments. It’s been 3 years since we last saw Dr. Rupa and my daughter still asks when she will get to see her again.
