Katie Friedman fitted me with the best glasses I have ever had. They are so comfortable and stylish and have improved my vision tremendously. When I became farsighted along with my lifelong nearsightedness, my bi-focal glasses did not correct my vision as well, and never fit comfortably. Katie's knowledge of the multi-dimensional aspects of vision correction using state-of-the-art computerized technology combined with her unique fashion sense in carrying the newest contemporary frames made my glass fitting experience a pleasure. The staff at Eyesight Hawaii excels in customer service and is very knowledgeable on their products. After running out of ideas for Christmas presents for my daughter, I thought it would be such a great idea to get her some new frames. I had never been in the office, but had heard great things about it, through one of the staff members, who often comes into our office. Their office is very easy to find and with lots of parking available, I was able to make it into the office. The entire staff was so helpful in helping my daughter and me pick out very nice frames. They were able to have them fitted and convinced her to try a different and new type of frame, which she was not used to, and she ended up loving their suggestion. They have a wide selection and I was able to pick out very cute frames for my daughter and I was very satisfied with the great service I received.

I traveled to Hawaii 10 years ago and while there I had LASIK surgery from Dr. John Olkowski at Eyesight Hawaii. I can very honestly say that it was one of the best experiences of my life. I was treated with dignity and made to feel very special, not only by this doctor but also by his most caring staff. The instant the surgery was over I could see the face of my watch and tell the time without wearing glasses.and this meant so very much to me. I felt as though I had been given a new lease on life. I was made to feel years younger by a surgery that lasted only a few minutes. I had moderate kerataconus in my left eye and for a long time was not a candidate for laser surgery.for many years, so I had the choice of heavy lenses for my myopia or painful contact lenses. When laser surgery was finally approved for kerataconus patients, I moved right ahead, and was able to see without a lens in front of my eye for the first time in 50 years! What a daily thrill for me. However, I did not realize how very fortunate I was until I visited another opthamologist when I moved to Colorado. He was, at first, very concerned that laser surgery had been performed on my kerataconus eye because, generally speaking, the cornea in that eye is considered too delicate for that surgery. He requested my chart form Hawaii, and after receiving them, called me with this message, "All that I can say is that your doctor in Hawaii is a rocket scientist!" The work Dr. Olkowski did on my eye was jaw droppingly good to my new doctor. Thank you, Dr. Olkowski!!!!.

I went to Dr. Olkowski at Eyesight Hawaii for my first Corneal Epi-Off Cross-linking procedure to prevent further progression of my Keratoconous. The staff were kind and confident, they were patient with all our questions and empathetic to my nervousness on surgery day. They took care of me every step of the way and my surgery turned out great! Although I was terrified (because I'm a chicken) they reassured me throughout the whole process and helped me relax. Sure enough, the process wasn't that bad at all, and I am hopeful that there will be no further progression of keratoconous. Thanks gang!

I'm almost 70 and have needed glasses since I was 40. I was interested in Lasik eye surgery to improve my vision. I was actually referred to Dr. Olkowski by another clinic where I learned about Crystalens replacement lenses. I had both eyes done, 2 weeks apart, in June 2013 and I have been very pleased with the results. The next day after each surgery my vision was 20/20, much better than I expected. I have reading glasses for fine print which I rarely have to use. The staff at Eyesight Hawaii were all very helpful and professional. Dr. Olkowski was very personable and informative. I highly recommend this clinic.

I have been a patient at eyesight hawaii for about 2 years now. Prior to seeing Dr. Olkowski and his staff, I've been going to a small eye clinic for my eye allergies and dry eyes but nothing really resolved the issue… i kept going back for the same issue every other month or so for many years. Since then, my dry eyes and eye allergies are almost completely gone. Yayee! I notice that I don't have dry eyes anymore but occasionally when the vog is really bad, my eyes will get itchy but nothing some eye drops will take care of. I'm glad I found this eye clinic. The doctor knows his stuff and the staff is always so friendly, plus they offer coffee while you wait ^_^

I visited an Urgent Care clinic, and when it was recommended that I see an ophthalmologist, a nurse, there, contacted my doctor and tried to make an appointment for me, and was unsuccessful. Went in to EyeSight because I thought I might need LASIK (one of my eyes saw blurry at a distance). After Dr. Olkowski assessed my eyesight he recommended that not doing anything would be best - in my particular case, the eye surgery would improve my eyesight for a couple of years and then they would get much worse than if I never did anything at all. Didn't even know that was a thing, but his honest saved me problems later - even though he could have made a 'sale'. Honesty like that is rare - and much appreciated! The staff was also extremely nice - was pleasantly surprised at how much fun I had during the testing process. The technician was great! Thank you Dr. Olkowski for your honesty and suggesting what's best for the patient even if it means no procedure is necessary. You alleviated my worries! Thanks again

The surgery center that Dr. Olkowski uses: UNREAL! The staff, the equipment!! I CANNOT imagine a better surgical setting! WOW! 3. After my cataract surgery on my right eye . . . my vision was DRAMATICALLY improved after a couple-three days! I just had my final followup yesterday and Doc said PERFECT! YAH! and yup, WOW! Dr. John Olkowski was my eye specialist and surgeon for about a dozen years and he would still be, if I had not moved 6000 miles away, back to Canada. He is amazing and his whole staff is great. The environment is friendly and professional and comfortable. Staff are friendly and competent and requests are filled promptly. I just e-mailed for medical records to be sent to my new family doctor in Canada and received a confirmation that is was done within a couple hours. That service is unheard of. Dr. Olkowski did laser surgery on both my eyes to correct astigmatism and corrected one eye for reading and one for distance. I saw things I had never seen before. It was a great solution for me. The process was quick and easy and not painful at all. Healing was fast. He continued caring for all my eye care needs until I returned to Canada for family reasons. The lasik improvement in vision was permanent and was only interrupted now that cataracts have formed on the lenses, a whole different part of the eye. I wish I was still there so he could do that, too. I trust him completely. But, they sent all my records, so I can get the treatment I need here and they are a call or e-mail away. September 20, 2018 Well; I can't say enough great things about Dr. Olkowski and his entire team at EyeSight Hawaii. I started seeing Dr. Olkowski a few years ago after another clinic made substantial mistake. I ended up with Dr. Olkowski who did the corrective Cataract Surgery and a couple PRKs to make things perfect. The entire staff is outstanding; from the time you walk in the door until you leave. I recently was scheduled for surgery on the mainland for something else; but developed a painful eyelid that I feared may cancel my surgery. I called Eyesight Hawaii and they took me right; even as a walk-in I hardly waited at all. Dr. Olkowski quickly diagnosed the problem and did the procedure to drain my entire eyelid and a Rx for Antibiotic eye drops and away I went. I was able to have the surgery on the mainland and can't thank Eyesight Hawaii enough. You don't need to shop around; just go there. They're the best in Hawaii!!!Well; I can't say enough good things about EyeSight Hawaii, Dr. Olkowski and his entire staff. From the front door where the Administrative staff and Reception, to the Optometrist Mike and the Techs. From the moment you walk in you'll know you're in the right place. My story. Well I had a Mishap at another Ophthalmologist where a miscommunication resulted in an error and my eyesight ended up exactly opposite of what I went there for. Luckily I ran into a neighbor who had just had Eye Surgery with Dr. Olkowski and EyeSight Hawaii; then I remembered I had met him years earlier. I called and explained my situation, they took me in that day. Dr. Olkowski did the exam and explained what needed to be done and scheduled me for Surgery. Once you've been seen by EyeSight Hawaii; you're part of the family. Dr. Olkowski did the Lens exchange in my eye and evened out my Vision with PRK Laser with my other eye. I couldn't believe how good I could see that day. My vision for Surfing and Outdoor sports is unbelievable. The Mountains 10 miles away are Post Card perfect. I also do Long Range shooting and have been consistently making shots from 500 to 800 yards on a 12" disc. One Long Range class resulted in 2 hits at 950 Yards. What more could you ask for. Don't shop; just go.

Jane Fyrberg, M. D.- Had I not been born in the Bible Belt south, I would be jumping up and down and shouting expletives to the heavens about my fantastic new vision one day post surgery!! One day ago I could not read the exit signs on the freeway. Today, just one day postop I can read every sign. Dr. Olkowski placed a Crystalens in my left eye using laser to macerate the old lens for easier removal.The entire process was painless and took less than 1/2 hour. Thank you to the entire surgical staff for their professional treatment to me as a patient. I couldn't be happier!

A little over a year ago my eye dr performed surgery on one of my eyes for a severe pterygium problem. Unfortunately things did not go well adter the surgery and i had issues with scarring. My eye dr then reffered me to dr Olkowski saying that he would be the best man to take a look at the problem. To make a long story short, dr Olkowski redid the surgery on my eye and coorected the scarring issue as well. I then scheduled another surgery for the pterygium on my other eye with dr Olkowski and that went as well as ever! What impressed me most about dr. Olkowski is his confidencs and profesionalism. I do not fault my first dr since this is a procedure that no dr really likes to perform. My eyes are two of the most important parts of my body. I am so fortunate to have things turn out well thanks to the expertise of dr. Olkowski and his entire staff at Eyesight Hawaii. Aloha always.
