Stay away from this company! I had an eye exam and ordered new lenses. The clerk told me my new lenses cost $270.00 so I paid $270.00. I told her to be sure my receipt showed my payment because I was allowed $250.00 refund from my Aetna insurance plan and I was mailing them my receipt. I told her "twice" I was allowed only $250.00 for lenses and frames. Without my knowledge they billed a third party insurance company (Eye Med Vision) $520.00 for the same lenses! Who is Eye Med Vision? When I found this error on the Aetna website a week later after returning from out of state, I called Aetna and talked to a supervisor. I told her to put a stop on the EFT payment to Sugarloaf Eye Care that was scheduled for the next day. She told me she stopped it and gave me the confirmation number. The next day I went to Sugarloaf and spoke to their staff and the Owner to ask them to either correct the receipt, give me a refund or take back the lenses. The owner refused! She said she was already paid by Aetna and there was nothing I could do about it. She told me her clerk did nothing wrong. This is insurance fraud! They not only double billed for my new lenses, but they also took my $250.00 refund from Aetna insurance. It is clear to me this company only cares about money and does nothing for their customers. I was never told the lenses cost $520.00 and I was never told they were billing another insurance company. If I knew the lenses were that expensive I would have stopped the entire order immediately! I have PROOF of the Aetna Vision Plan. Nowhere does it say anything about another insurance carrier that the company could bill direct. There is No Way it was a "misunderstanding" of the Aetna Vision Care benefit! 1. No one in their right mind would pay $520.00 for a pair of lenses only! 2. No one in their right mind would deny themselves a $250.00 refund from their eye care benefit by not following the Aetna Insurance instructions and requirements for reimbursement. That is why I mailed the receipt to Aetna Insurance the following morning proving I paid $270.00 for my new lenses. Sugarloaf Eye Care deceived me and withheld vital information of what they were charging for the lenses and what they were doing with my claim. They NEVER explained anything to me and they know it! They cheated and lied to me and that is Senior abuse plain and simple!

This is patient care and customer service at it's absolute best. Dr. Christensen and Dr. Woo are excellent health care providers, using the latest technology to keep my eyes healthy. They take the time to talk to me about the health of my eyes, they are not simply dialing in my prescription to sell me glasses. The front office staff are top notch as well. They curate a collection of fashionable frames that range from highly affordable to, frankly, insane prices. But they have never tried to up-sell me. They take the time to sit with me and help me find frames that look great on me, that fit within my insurance and budget. I always leave feeling confident that I've made a wise and flattering choice. Turnaround time is longer than an hour, usually a couple of days, but they do a great job, take the time to fit you properly, and happily make adjustments if I get out there and think that something just needs adjustment. I never did well with glasses from the fast turnaround places. I've been a patient and customer for years and I could not imagine going anywhere else. I highly recommend you make them your eye care specialist as well.

The best of Sugarloaf is Dr. Woo who performed a clear review with my vision. First time visitors, please pay attention to their outdated sign in technology and a procedure for $45 that's not explained or easy to identify on their system. Consider that first time visitors don't understand your process, charges etc.."You checked the box" for something I don't recall seeing or explained unfortunately makes it tough to return or recommend your clinic. Please also remember to give patients their script when they leave. Today my son went to Thomas Eye group and a consent was signed to complete this test special test. For your records, the test fee was $45 and not the $35 you mentioned...honestly, it's the principal. Consider using a form where the customer clearly makes an election. If you'd like a cop of their disclosure, please drop me a note.

I hesitate to even give this location 1 star as it is literally the worst, most disappointing, unprofessional, and uncaring group of entitled employees who seem to care nothing for their customers and their craftsmanship. They give the impression that they do not appreciate your business or hard earned money. They are are more concerned with the upsell than they are about completing the task of doing their job. I wasted 100's of dollars here and I will never go back. My only regret was choosing this location based on what must be false, fake positive reviews.

I love this place! I went there through a recommendation from a friend and have loved the service I have received. They have a fabulous collection of high-end frames. Recently, I went for an eye exam and had a MUCH smaller budget than I had before - they were just as helpful and kind as when I bought expensive eyewear - they showed me the budget options and took time to help me with choosing the best frames. This year I no longer have eye care insurance and they have been wonderful about that as well. It feels like the staff cares - from the people who check you in at the reception desk, to the people who take you through the battery of tests. I highly recommend them!

I have been a customer with this company for a few years now and in the past the customer service was great , however not so great now. The doctors are awesome. The front staff is a disappointment. They have a arrogance about themselves and not very welcoming. They are quick to stereotype you and ASSUME things. Their facial expressions are a tell tell sign once you get past the big black and gold trimmed eyewear that they wear that are not attractive at all. I will be taking my hard working money elsewhere so they can make room for the rich and fabulous.

If I could give a 0 star I would, came here because it was close to where I live. I was looking for some frames for my daughter. When I walked into the store everyone just looked at me, there was about a 2 minute pause before anyone asked if I needed help. Not sure what the guys name was but he finally came to ask me what he could help me with. I Told him I needed frames for my daughter, showed him her broken glasses and he asked me what brand they were and I told him I don’t know.. I got them from Walmart. His response was well it would be hard to find you a frame being that you don’t even know what brand they are and he handed the glasses back to me.... I’m like damn you didn’t even try to look at all the frames you have here sitting on display to see if the lenses fit any of them. Worst customer service ever.. I felt totally discriminated against. However I went down the street and told them the same problem and the lady at that location searched every frame they had on display and we found a frame.. I paid 200.00 for them but I didn’t even care because they were kind and respectful and went out their way. - I would like to add that I was the only customer in the store. I guess since I wasnt dressed good enough or looked like I had money they figured I couldn’t afford anything in the store was the impression I got.. I will never come back nor would I recommend anyone to go here.

I have been going to Sugarloaf Eyecare for more than 5 years now...I used to live down the street but moved to Snellville 2 years ago. I don't want to find another eye care location even though there are many in Snellville. I have always had pleasant experiences at Sugarloaf. Their eye glass selections are incredible and can satisfy almost all tastes. Today was my annual exam...and I walked out with my full prescription glasses on...and I was there for just an hour or so. They had what I needed in stock!! Fantastic customer service, super great eye care and a snazzy facility is what keeps me coming back year after year. I even referred one of my coworkers who lives in the area...You won't go wrong visiting Sugarloaf Eye Care...they care and it shows!

This has been my place to get glasses the last 5 years or so. That was until recently. I came in for my yearly vision appointment. Dr. Woo was great. Once done with the doctor the front office acted like I was a ghost, didn't offer to help me find a new pair of glasses, not even a acknowledgement. I struck it up to maybe they were just having a bad day. I came back two months later looking for better customer service and same thing. I was a ghost to the front office, not a hello or can I help you once again. I asked for my vision prescription and will be taking my business elsewhere.

I've come here for years. Today, Saturday, was a very different experience. The owner (a very pleasant lady) was not around. There are two new staff members at the front desk (an older white gentleman and an African american gentleman). Neither acknowledged me or got up when I walked in. They weren't busy. I came in wanting to buy sunglasses. No one offered to help. Two of the people who I've seen working there in the past (tall guy and a lady) were busying themselves carrying the little boxes of glasses back and forth to the little room. No one even said hello. If the owner was there, she wouldn't let this happen. I expected to pay more for sunglasses there, but I always felt good, received honest opinions, adjustments and felt like they appreciated my business. Today, I walked out. I'm not sure if I will return. Maybe they will see this post.

They helped filing with insurance and when my first pair of glasses came in, they noticed a tiny tiny chip in the side, they had to point out to me, and had already ordered a replacement pair. Sorry, I have bad experience recently, I got a pair glass they charged me about $250, they said my insurance only pay 50% cost, second pair glass will charge $70. I go to different store, they charge me co pay $15, I ask how much if I got the first pair glass in their store, they said about $150. They said Sugarloaf eyecare store didn't use my insurance.

I am a repeat customer and most of my experiences have been decent. I bought a pair of Prada eyeglasses a few years back that the arm stripped and loosened within a month and I felt Sugarloaf Eyecare should have made that right, but they didn't. Today, however, was the icing on the cake. After an eye exam, my husband and I planned to select frames. The optical advisor, as she was called by someone else, stood steadfastly between us selecting frames without 1) Asking us if we wanted her assistance in selection and 2) When she independently decided to make a choice for us, our preference in frames style, type (metal or plastic) or really anything. She literally stood there as if we were not there quickly grabbing frames off the shelf. My husband had on a pair of plastic frame Bvlgari's. When both hands were full of her selections, she instructed us to have a seat and try on her HER selections. I felt like one of the kids in kindergarten being told to have a seat by the teacher. I nearly laughed. I came close to asking her what criteria was her selection based on...but given she never asked or inquired with us clearly our preferences and choices didn't matter. It was no different to me than a hair stylist deciding my color and style based on their decision without my input. I respect expertise by trade and experience but something of this nature is just a matter of respect to ask. Simply put I value opinion, but I expect that same.. respect for my opinion. At the end of the day, that may be some clients preference....but ask and tailor the approach from client to client. We declined and left. Sugarloaf Eyecare and b Spectacled in Suwanee and Alpharetta are the same owners. ........So we went to the Suwanee location and found frames. Our experience with Shawn was MUCH better. I was so angry when we left the Suwanee store that I called back only to be told this is how she is trained by the owner. Wow! So as the consumer not only are my options or choices taken away, now with them telling me what to buy with my money..... I could not help but wonder...how do I know the employee aggressive selections with no inquiry is not to their advantage i.e., getting rid of frames they can't sell etc. The employee kept mentioning the insurance limitations as she made HER selections...but again in her mind reading mode, she never inquired as to our budget or choice regardless of insurance. Very, very disappointing to experience and find out.
