Federal law allows for a 2 year prescription to be written. When you are 49 and only wear your contacts for sports there is no legit reason not to. They refuse to do this here. I took my business elsewhere.

Just called optimart and whoever answered the phone STARTED out polite, then as I was talking she hung up on me?! This is not okay I’ve been going to optimart for a year or so and now I’m gonna have to find a better location with better service. I know I don’t go there for the customer service but damn it would help.

My husband and I have both been patients of Dr. Day’s for quite some time and we absolutely love him. Dr. Day is extremely competent and very aware of other issues outside of eyes. In example, my Crohn’s disease and the way it could effect my vision. Time and time again, I go to Optimart and are greeted by the girls with smiles and ability to assist. Recently, we’ve brought our oldest son for his first exam, lo and behold, he needs glasses. He was completely indecisive of a pair he liked, and had a certain style. Knowing this, the girls worked together to find him a pair, covered by insurance (within budget), that he absolutely loves. I could not be more pleased with the service provided at the Crystal River optimart. And over the years, with insurance changes, my family and I have chosen to stay patients of Dr. Day’s regardless of coverage! Thank you girls and Dr. Day for making our exams and vision changes a piece of cake!

I went in with my mother who has had trouble seeing with her prescribed glasses. We thought the bifocals just weren’t lined up properly. The lady who helped us suggested we try silicone nose piece pads to keep them from sliding down the nose all the time. She fixed my mother’s vision issues, crucial for ensuring her safety, for under $7! Thank you!

Previously had two annual exams in Crystal River, was seen in the past two years by Dr. Scott Clough who was a consummate professional. Not so this year - "new" optometrist is Paul Day. Arrogant, rude, and condescending. Refused to engage in a respectful dialog with me, so much so that his attempts at insults actually broke me out laughing at him. He was very judgemental of a medical condition I have without knowing the first thing about me. I'm a retired professional myself and there are plenty of good respectful optometrists right down the road. I won't be returning to Optimart until they figure out Dr. Day is driving patients away with his rude lack of manners. It's ashamed because the women out front have always been a delight to deal with.

My first experience was pleasant enough but My last experience was far from pleasant and in fact down right horrible, which is putting it lightly. In need of a new pair of glasses I decided to make an appointment mostly because I figured I'd also get contacts this time around as well. They gave Me an early morning appointment, I was told was the first of the day. On the day I arrived before they opened and had about a 15 minute wait, I like to make sure I am a little early to appointments. When they opened the doors they had Me wait about another 15 minutes before I was even given paper work to fill out. They pushed another lady in front of Me while I filled out the papers. She apparently had a bad experience with the doctor who she explained was quite rude to her and that she was very displeased with her service there. I know, I should have run but unfortunately did not. That's right I too had a bad experience with this doctor. He was very rude and to make a long story short told Me that I could not have contacts and that he would not give Me an eye exam. I was shocked but really didn't want more of an issue then was necessary, life is just way to short for dealing with crap like that! He told Me that I was welcome to go to a different eye doctor if I like so I pleasantly said "looks as if I'll have to do just that." and grabbed My hand bag and left. Upon My way out I stated to the receptionist "The lady before Me was right he is a very rude man!" Since I had had My eye exam there just the year before, only at a different location, I contacted that location to get My prescription and after much resistance and need to go there in person I was able to get it. Mind you this took about a week to get done, they seriously did not want to give it to me and even made rude comments about how it was a prescription form last year so why would I even want it. Amazing nerve on these people! Anyways turns out I My prescription has no expiration date so there really wasn't even a need for Me to have another exam. Their loss and My gain. Though it was a BIG pain in the tookish I feel like I cam out the winner in this situation. Why on earth a business would want to throw away money is beyond Me? However after long thought on the matter I realized they are located in a very small town and if they are turning away business someone else is getting it which is what I think was the entire purpose. The doctor must have investment in the only other place people can go for exams near by. I mean why the hell else would he turn money away unless he was getting more because of it and the other place is three times more expensive as this place. Well whatever the reason I say STAY AWAY from both and do as I do and visit the doctor just one town over or order on line!!!

We made 2 different appointments at this place. We had to reschedule the first one after waiting an hour and a half. Then went in for the second appointment and people were late for their appointment so they took them at our appointment time and we had.to wait. We left there and will never go back.

I would put negative but you don't provide for this in your ratings. I went for a simple eye exam and contact lenses. Dr. Day continues to tell me that he doesn't know if I'm even legal to drive. He was barely able to correct my vision with glasses so that I could drive. I was told the pressure is my eyes were 29/26 which is extreme to say the least. He diagnosed me with ocular hypertension and the beginning of glacoma and told me I was losing my eyesight. he refered me to a specialist and fitted me with bifocal eyewear. Refused to prescribe contacts even those this is all I ever used since age 16. As I am my husbands caregiver and the only one that can drive I went through nearly a week of horrific terror and fear. I saw the specialist that looked at me as if I was crazy. He said my pressure was 16. Right in the middle of normal. No glacoma. Optic nerve intact and health. He said that the eye pressure can not fluctuate that much and my eye sight was 20/25 WITHOUT corrective lenses. I received my glasses from optimart and they could not fit them to my comfort after 2 very rude employees attempting to adjust. I now have spent over $500 that I can't afford for glasses I can't wear for a condition I don't have. What I do have is a return of my headaches and still blurry vision. VERY DISSATISFIED6

I made an appointment for my Autistic child my appointment was 10:10 and at 11:00 we still have not been called back. When I said something I was told very rudely to be patient. When I mentioned that he had another appointment at 12:15 I was told that I never should have doubled scheduled knowing how Doctor offices are!

This is a review of Dr Paul Day OD - not Optimart in general. I cannot recommend this optometrist to anyone. He has an agenda and is pushing over corrected vision and multi focal lenses (which are needed when your vision is over corrected). This also results in higher exam charges so more money for him... He does not listen to what you have to say. Basically told me what I was doing with my lenses was all wrong, except for the solution I was using. I am happy with my current glasses and contacts. My contact prescription was expired and I was having an issue with my left lens only since starting a new box. I just wanted to be able to order a new box of lenses. During the exam I asked him to move the piece of equipment in front of me so I could talk to him. I was ignored. I asked again but was ignored again. I started to move it but it just tilted a bit so I stopped. He tilted it back and pushed it back in my face and said the exam was not over. Totally unprofessional. He wanted to over correct my vision to 20-15 (this is better than 20-20) and stated I needed all new glasses and contacts. When I explained that I did not want this he told me my idea was rubbish and that if I did not want to listen to him I should go somewhere else. I have never been treated so rudely. His early attempt at listening to my needs was just for show. I have been wearing contacts for over 25 years and have never had an experience like this.

This was my first time ever going to an eye doctor and my experience here was outstanding. The doctor was great, took time to answer any questions I had. The staff was extremely friendly.Linda was such a help with picking out the perfect glasses. The prices are great also. I highly recommend this place.
