The owner of the business should know how poorly customers are treated. I went in the store today to buy a new pair of glasses. Was treated horribly. The salesperson was rude and condescending. She basically ridiculed the style of glasses that I was looking for. She kept trying to push a brand in which the company rep was in the store today. I did not care for that style. She even ridiculed the idea that I did not want a progressive lens. I gladly spent over $800 with another business in Fairfield. Mind you, I was treated much better.

Glenn is very knowledgable, does not cut corners, and works with customers to understand their preferences and needs. No exaggeration - I purchased the best pair of glasses I've ever owned here. I have a strong prescription and have never owned a lighter more comfortable pair of glasses. Glenn is really the best!

Just picked up my new progressive eyeglasses from Optical Alternatives. I was very skeptical about getting progressives again, after a very bad experience about 8 years ago with a different optician -- spent $750+ and could never get used to them, so never wore them. Dorothy at OA convinced me to give them another try, and knowing how good she is at what she does, I took the leap of faith. Here I am, less than 2 hours later, totally used to them. Perfect vision near and far, and they fit like a glove! Dorothy is amazing! She took the time when fitting me to ensure they'd be perfect, noting that one eye was slightly lower than the other. I don't recall that observation from the previous optician. She also helped me pick out the perfect frames for my face. I am beyond thrilled, thank you, Dorothy and Optical Alternatives, you are the best!

I just picked up my glasses Saturday and love them. I love them more because as soon as I put them on i could 'see'. I say that because I made the mistake of going to a 'chain' eyeglass store and each time I picked up my glasses I had to search to find the 'spot' I could see from. I just didn't understand. Fortunately I had dinner with a friend and she mentioned Optical Alternatives. I was impressed from the moment I went in. I went to see if they could explain why the glasses I had gotten were the way they were. They spent an incredible amount of time with me on something that wasn't even their problem. Of course I then found many frames I liked much better than what I was getting. As it turned out, I was able to go back to Optical Alternatives and get my new glasses and frames. I could 'see' immediately without having to look for the spot. What I liked was the selection of frames (and the fact that I could see perfectly the moment I put the new glasses on!). I like something a little 'not run of the mill' and I could never find that - until here. I'm very pleased with the selection, service, expertise and would highly recommend them.

Excellent service. Best choice of frames of the many optical shops I have dealt with. I have gotten to know Dorothy; another reason I keep coming back. And her referrals to optometrists and ophthalmologists are to be trusted.

Awesome experience. They know their stuff. Gorgeous, unique and colorful frames you can't find anywhere else and I'm so happy with my incredible frames. They knew just what I wanted and I'm definitely going back!
