Warning: Do not go to Cohen's Optical!! I purchased two pairs of glasses from them last year, they not only got the prescription wrong, they left a jagged edge on the lower part of my bifocal lens on one pair, and did not fit the lens properly on the other pair. While their employees are very polite and will promise you the world, their products are cheap, and not worth the money. They sent both pairs of glasses out to be corrected three times, and I finally got fed up, and promised to report them to the better business bureau.

The worst experience. Shady from start to finish. They are not transparent and just looking to up sell you rather than provide you with a decent experience. They lost their license for a few months a year or so ago and I completely see why now. You are much better off going anywhere, and I mean anywhere, else.

I would like to thank Cohens and Cheryl for their help in purchasing 2 new pairs of glasses. I had bought from walmart and from costco previous ( for others w/comments the price was the same ) the manager Cheryl helped me pick out glasses that were a better fit. I am in sales and have had more compliments on my new glasses , i am happy to refer any one to them. John L

Went in just shopping around before I made my choice of services. It did not take me very long to decide this was not the right place to me. I did not feel welcome

The doctor was very rude and unperfessional. They only want to take your money and do not care about the customer at all. I do not recommend anyone to go there!!!

I ordered custom prescription sunglasses from this place and was pleased with how they came out. I am always receiving compliments on my lenses and I would highly recommend this business. Initially it took a little time to get the lenses back but under new management I already see the difference!

I'm on my 2nd pair of glasses from Cohen's,( in one year) and they broke again today. I have to go in for a third. This is where my insurance sends me so I have little choice. The frames are cheap and keep breaking. I bought the insurance with these frames so I will see if they honor the agreement when I go in to replace these frames.

Cleetah and Adam were a saint. When my good friend from Baltimore haphazardly jumped into a large public water supply with his glasses on, he was practically blind... We needed adventure and excitement but without our collective vision we could not enjoy ourselves. I love him very much so I called every lens maker on this side of the Mississippi. Everyone was bitter and cold about our problem. We called these puppies up and the workers were nothing but accommodating, squeezing us in at the last second. I'm happy and my friend is happy.

Made an appointment online on 8/25/17 for an appointment on 8/29/17. I received confirmation for the appointment through my email. I showed up at the Store for my scheduled appointment and they did not have any record of my information. Then they tell me I have to wait a hour and a half for the Dr to get back from lunch! Not to mention the was another customer who was a walk in right before me and I would have to wait after her! REALLY! NEVER AGAIN!

I wish I could give this store a half of a star. Customer service here is really NOT a priority. Everything was about how much money they could squeeze out of you (especially if you have a Groupon). From the time we walked in the store to the time we left the entire visit felt rushed("you NEED to make a decision NOW"). Living in New Haven coming from one Cohen's in Farmington CT we called ahead of time to let them know we were coming to this location because of the equipment being down in farmington, the customer service on the phone was even terrible and rushed, but against my better judgement we still went, and it was exactly what I thought it would be.... Terrible customer service in the store as well... I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE they care more about your money then your experience.

The customer service is horrible. I sent in my glasses for repair about a month ago and I still haven't received them yet. I was told that it would only take about two and a half weeks and its been so much longer. I got confirmation that they were done so I called to get the tracking number and they said they'll call me back, they always say they'll call me back, never got a call. Seriously needs work on customer service. This is probably the last time I'd EVER get glasses from them again.

Went in on 08/20. Danbury Connecticut mall? I originally purchased 2 pairs of glasses here a little more than one year ago. Spent more than $300.00 for the frames and over $250.00 for the lenses. On one pair of the glasses that I wear frequently was all scratched. Sales staff said you shouldn't clean them with a dry rag. Well no one told me that when I purchased them. They wanted to charge me $280 for a new pair of lenses. Their customer service and attitude from the sales staff ( two women ) was horrible. Furthermore the prescription was wrong. I'm not a 2.50. I am a 2.25. I went upstairs in the mall to LensCrafters. They treated me wonderfully and I got a wonderful pair of lenses for $210. 00. These employees need remedial training fast.

I needed a new pair of glasses after mine broke i bought a groupon , the exam was quick and easy and a same day appointment. They even ordered me the same pair of glasses i had previously. Which was not a brand or pair they stock in store or usually sell.

My wife and I both purchased glasses. Overall we had an excellent experience. Cheryl was the saleswomen who worked with us, she has been incredibly accommodating as we have been back to have our glasses readjusted from wear. Great customer service is alive and well at Cohen’s of Danbury. Thank You.

Got here late for my appointment and the doctor left. Got a call to confirm but a call about the doctor leaving would've been nice. Came all the way here for no reason. Thanks for nothing.

Approximatly 12 years ago I came and purchased my glasses and frames at cohens. For Christmas I was given a gift card to lens crafters but still felt I should at least stop by. So being the creature of habit as I am, I said let’s go back there and try them again. My old pair were still ok today but I felt I should have a back up pair. I came in to the store a day ago and had fantastic service. The doctor took me right in on time as soon as I was done filling out the form. Cheryl and Christina assisted me in choosing the pair I was comfortable with. I did not feel as if I was being rushed and they explained everything with a smile even!. With all the information provided I made a purchase on what in the end made me happy and not what other places push you on. So I said ok..I should have sun glasses as well but let’s go to lens crafters for that. Let me tell you.... I was ignored. They even asked my wife if she needed help and I’m the one trying on glasses across the store! Was I invisible because I was in my work attire?!! ..I went back to where they took care of me and treated me like a wanted customer. So I say this... 12 some odd years ago they did a great job, a day ago they did a amazing job. Why bother even trying anyone else. If you want a great experience go to Cohens in the Danbury mall and see these nice ladies and the doc. If you want to be aggravated and waste your time go somewhere else. I didn’t feel like I was buying anything. They really care.

You need to have kinder people working here most horrible place to go to get glasses ever don't waste your money

Doctor was great, took his time and I felt really comfortable with him. As for the sales people, they're the typical hard sell with massively overpriced glasses. I really liked one pair of frames, but not at $330. Left and checked on line where the going rate for exactly the same frame is between $100 and $150. Even with the cost for high end Transitions progressive lenses, bought online, I can get the full pair for less that they were trying to charge for just the frames. It's an absolute ripoff, get your prescription and get out.

Doctor & Stuff are friendly. Doc is professional & experienced. And their frame collection is also good.

Very overpriced! They don't check how glasses fit except to ask you how are these. They sold me men's glasses without telling me they were men's. The Dr. chec.ked for glaucoma by pressing your eyelids and asking does this hurt. Never go back there. I am editing this review as I was contacted by customer service to try to make this right. They were pleasant and helpful and they allowed me to change the original glasses to something else. I am very pleased with my new glasses and grateful for the treatment and service they provided. I am giving four stars because I really do think they are more costly than others. Thanks for the service and for graciously making this right, from someone who rarely writes reviews.

Don't get your eyewear at Cohen's Fashion Optical at the Danbury Fair Mall!!! I'd felt they were really kind and helpful when I was there for the exam. HOWEVER, they are VERY BUSINESS DRIVEN and once they made the deal with you, they don't really care about your problems with the eyewear anymore. I had a pretty bad experience here. First of all, the eye doctor was kind of bad. My eye exam was really short and I still feel like he doesn't have the numbers right on my prescription. The lenses of my glasses were slightly funny and he still hasn't found me a good fit of contacts yet after almost TWO MONTHS! The lady who was responsible for helping me to pick out a frame convinced me that she can fix the frame, which was too big at the time. So I went with that. It turned out to be a really BAD frame. It was too loose so she tightened the back a lot and it wraps around the whole back of my ears. HOWEVER, the frame is still slippery on my nose because the sides are too long, AND THE WORST OF IT ALL, it squeezes the back of my ears (the soft part with nerves and soft bones) so much and IT HURTS SO BAD! It still hurts me the whole day today even though I am not wearing my glasses at all. Honestly, she is NOT good at fixing glasses, and she only cares about selling them. (Actually, her friendliness dropped when I decided to buy a cheaper frame too.) Even though I went back so many times, she just took the glasses and played a little bit with them, gave them back, and the problem started again after 2 days. She simply won't admit that the real problem is that these glasses are not for me, and adjusting them does not help. And right now, she refuses to give me a refund or exchange because they're over 30 days, which she never explained to me either. I bought my one-year supply of contacts from them as well, but I am also having problems with them. The doctor prescribed them, but he didn't foresee my gaze shift problem with these contacts. I am really worried that she won't let me return them or exchange them for the contacts that might actually fit my eyes. I don't recommend this SMALL store to anyone who think their eyes might need more time and effort to find the right eyewear. I've worn glasses for over 10 years now, and I've never had such a bad experience with any optical stores. I would recommend go to some professional eye doctor's office or MORE PROFESSIONAL optical stores. Cohen's seems nice when you're shopping with them, but if you have problems with your eyewear, they will NOT care.

I love Cohen’s Optical. Dr. Glasner is patient, kind, extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to see. Cleda and Cheryl make shopping for new frames a fun experience. They are never hesitant to give realistic feedback and take the time to make sure you find the perfect fit for your style.
