I bought a groupon for one hour optical. They were very friendly and helpful. I had a very short wait before seeing the optometrist. She was awesome, and very nice. Once I was finished she gave me two pairs of contacs to get me through until they could order more. When I went out to look at glasses I was astonished at the high prices. But they were designer frames. The staff was very helpful, and even took about 30 mins out of their day to help me decide on which frames looked better on me. Asking everyone from the receptionists to the optometrist herself. I would greatly recommend one hour optical for anyone getting contacs.

I went to One Hour Optical for an eye exam on 6/27. It was a crazy day at the location because a couple of employees called out. They were running behind on appointments which I was ok with - I just played on my phone. I was disappointed with the level of attention Dr LaHoud gave me during the exam. I felt extremely rushed through the exam itself. I did not intend of purchasing glasses and just wanted to check out but I had to wait at least 10 minutes - while they assisted new customers walking through the door. With my vision plan, I have two policies that cover the exam. One at a flat $40 co pay, and the other covered 80% of the exam. The agent quickly told me about the two plans and promptly told me that the exam was expensive and the $40 rate was the best. I didn't question and frankly wanted to get out of there. When I got home, I looked at the receipt and noticed had she used the other policy I would have only paid $29.80. After more than 3 calls over the next week and a half I received my refund. My advice is to know your coverage and pull out your calculator.

The woman I dealt with when ordering argued with me over insurance coverage and tried to charge me full price. She twice walked away to help someone else, leaving me sitting unattended. Then I was told two weeks for turnaround (isn't the place called ONE HOUR Optical?) but ended up waiting over a month to actually receive my glasse . Maybe the One Hour refers to how long it takes to order? I asked for Transitional lenses and specifically pointed out I'd need them for driving. I even explained that my last pair of Rx sunglasses were stolen feom my car. Never the less, not only do the lenses NOT get dark in the car, but they barely darken outside. They are effectively USELESS as sunglasses. And yet they manage to be slightly gray when I'm sitting in my office, causing me to have to squint at my work (I'm a DESIGNER! I need to see colors accurately). Extremely disappointed and DO NOT RECOMMEND.

All they had was a 12 count lens box and they falsely stated Medicaid doesn't cover contact lenses (It covers the exam). I felt like I had to try too hard as a customer to get a satisfactory response. I know it may be just that one person but all employees should be at the same level of excellence.

I was a first-time customer. At my first exam I was told they would need to dilate my eyes. I wasn't prepared for a dilation so I had to re-schedule for another day for my exam to be finished. I went in a week later for the dilation and was seen by a different doctor. He dilated my eyes, gave me an exam and a trial pair of contact lenses based on his analysis. The left contact immediately irritated my eye, so I called back to tell them that I didn't like the prescription. I was told that the second doctor did not give me the proper dilation drops and that my exam needed to be done again (which was completely unrelated to the irritating contact which they chalked up to a defective lense, but frustrating nonetheless.) So I came in for my third appointment (which means a third time requesting time off of work). My eyes were dilated for a second time and I was given a prescription and another trial pair of lenses. I did not feel like the prescription was right...my year-old prescription from a previous provider was much better. At that point I did not want to take yet another day (which could turn into who knows how many days) off of work to get re-evaluated. Another thing my doctor did not discuss with me before writing my prescription was the cost of the lenses she prescribed. They were $50 per box (verses $16 per box at my old provider). Now I am stuck with a prescription for contacts that I cannot afford and that doesn't give me the greatest vision. TO TOP IT ALL OFF, I RECEIVED AN INVOICE FOR $100 FROM THEM FOR CONTACTS I NEVER ORDERED! Luckily the billing person was nice and corrected the problem when I called in, but overall I am not happy at all with my experience here - not only with the disorganization of the staff, but the lack of communication between doctors and the lack of communication from doctor to patient. I would not recommend coming here at all.

Contacts will take a week to arrive and glasses take two weeks, be warned. Exam on it's own is $220. I have actually never written an online review before in my life, however I felt sharing my experience would help other people in a similar situation. I found myself in an emergency situation after my travel bag that contained my glasses and contacts was stolen. Because I was leaving Denver in 6 days, I needed to do something quickly. Do not be fooled by what must be fake reviews. The "one hour" in One Hour Optical does not imply they can help you with your vision needs quickly. The "one hour" apparently just approximates how long it will take to get your exam. To be clear, even after explaining my situation and asking for any possible solution, I was told contacts would take a week or so and glasses would take two weeks. That's a reasonable amount of time, but don't let the business' name fool you like it fooled me. They do not have any sort of expedited or rush service, from what I was told, not at any price. After I regretfully said I would have to take my chances with an online rush order, the person checking me out went completely cold and rude. Clearly quietly angry and only grudgingly answering questions. I point blank asked if I had all the information needed to order glasses from some online rush shop, the person exhaled loudly and said "yes, you've got it." Now while trying to make on online order, I find that they did not fit me for glasses, even after charging $220 and especially after me asking several times if I had all the information I needed. When I called back they made no apology, it was apparently my fault for not buying glasses there. After begging for any possible solution so I could rush order glasses, they explained I could measure myself in the mirror. Again, for over $200, I can now measure myself it's that big of a deal to me. I thought they would offer to let me come back in and get it done, but no such luck. Also, while waiting, I heard two different people complaining loudly that their glasses weren't delivered when promised. Cue empty apologies and well rehearsed acting surprised from the staff in both cases. One retired lady had apparently been waiting over a month and had come in to check for her glasses three previous times, according to what the whole office overheard. Steer very clear, especially if you have a vision emergency. Apparently this is a chain chop shop that makes most of their profits from the glasses (which apparently they can't deliver on time, based on overhearing upset customers). They seem to have very little interest anything other than selling you products, and apparently the $220 exam doesn't count or make you a customer.

Friendly,Helpful and Absolutely the best selection of COOL Frames in town. I purchased a pair of Progressive glasses that are competitively priced. Turnaround time was faster than promised. I was skeptical because of some of the negative reviews/ I shopped around and 1 hour optical has a competent staff with a great selection! Thanks Guys! UPDATE Recommended was the antiglare coating. The glasses are fine but the coating is all scratched. The Glasses are less then 1 year old. I bought insurance and called then stopped the store. Nick looked at the glasses and determined they were defective and ordered replacement lenses for me. Thanks for standing by your products. Ill be back! These new lenses are wonderful!

I took my daughter there to get glasses, we took a day off school and drove an hour to get there so she could get them in one day well it was hours we never made it back to school and 5 hours later we got a pair of glasses she could not see out of ! I paid cash more then I have ever paid for a pair of glasses (nearly double) and they were done wrong we took them back they said they did not have the right lenses (then why did they just not say that so we ordered another pair and waited another week and the second pair also are bad she cannot see well out of them .. > It is an hour to desmoines now I am bringing them back,, they say No refunds Well I want a refund !! we could have gotten glasses my daughter could have seen to of for half the price and less time if we had just gone to walmart Like we did last time with no issues!!

In July I got new lenses for my frame because the last lenses started to chip at the top of the frame. They were wondeful to make them with my new script. Then within one month the lenses started to chip again much worse than the last one's. I sent a e-mails on there web page. No responses. I have a very limited budget, I can not keep buying lenses every couple of months do to chipped lenses. I have to admit, I have no other choice to than to wear them at risk the of chips getting into my eyes

I had visited this business in past for eyeglasses without customer service or product issues. Went there about 45 days ago for the second time hoping to get some new eyeglasses before I moved out of state. Worked with Jerry both times; he is now the manager. First question wife and I asked him was can we get glasses purchased at his store serviced in Iowa. He asked where, I said DesMoines. He said yes, this will not be a problem... Based on this false information, I made an approximate $350 purchase. Forty five days later, I got a scratch on my lense and proceeded to contact One Hour Optical in DesMoines to be told that Jerry was incorrect and I cannot receive any service there without payment in full. Maybe that is what he thought I was asking, can I go pay someone to service my glasses in Iowa, I think not. I immediately called Jerry who had the audacity to tell me what he meant by saying it would not be a problem for me to get my glasses serviced in DesMoines was that I could mail him the glasses when I needed them serviced.. like I can mail him them to get them adjusted.., which is an every other month service I typically require. I said this unacceptable and I want a refund. He said no way as we are now outside the 30 day money back guarantee timeframe. He said whatever he thought he must to sell me a pair of glasses that day and hoped that when I needed them serviced and uncovered his lie it would be too late. He was correct, please do not continue to reward this business for their malfeasance.

I have bought several pairs of glasses from them. I have a pair that are not that hold and the hinge on the ear piece that broke. Since the lenses and rest of the frame is in good shape I wanted to buy the ear piece. I went to the store and was told pieces were not available. I contacted the manufacturer and was told they could provide the piece. The manufacturer told me they would contact the store and provide it to them. I went back to the store and was told they only order complete frames not just an ear piece. You would think most stores want to provide good customer service. One Hour Optical can order the piece but they choose not too, but they would happy for me to buy the complete frame. The manufacturer will step up to make the customer happy but One Hour Optical chooses not to! They have lost my business!!

My husband and I have gone here for two annual exams now, mostly due to the proximity to our house but will not be going back anymore. My first exam included a very long wait time and and obstetrician who was unable to accurately explain my insurance benefits to me. This most recent time around, the staff misunderstood my visit to be for glasses instead of contacts despite my speaking to two different people about it, including the doctor. I was then sent to check out without getting fitted for contacts they asked if i would like to reschedule another appointment or wait to be seen again by the doctor, who had already moved on to another patient. I was then not told to wear the trial pair of contacts to my return visit so had to schedule another visit. I go back again this week and hope it can be my last visit! The building has no cell service and the staff will not give out WiFi password despite what seems to be at least 6 different One Hour Optical options (one which is labeled “guest”). I’d have experienced long wait times here and it seems they would aim to provide a better experience for the guests while they wait. In addition, there are often 2-4 people working the front desk but they are very slow to greet you and call you up, despite seeming to be available to help.

Went to pick up my daughters glasses that cost double what they would have elsewhere, Only to be told they wouldn’t be done until the next day!! After they told her they would be ready by today at 4. I explained to them the entire reason we used them was the one hour part. Now their response was they can ship them and she will have them by Friday. So she will start school without glasses and buyer beware. If you are going to One hour optical in the hopes of having your glasses that day, don’t hold your breath!

First visit was really bad, rude front desk, bad information, and they initially refused to fulfill their obligations as a VA provider. Once I got through the smokescreen/minefield that was the front desk, there were a few employees (2) that seemed to care, both of them worked in the service area back of the house. Second visit, they did replace a scratched lens from the first pair with a new frame set + lenses. Although while I waited for fitting they were resolving another quality issue with another customer about bad lenses...YMMV and I would suggest that the FOH be retrained to provide some modicum of customer service. Overall Mediocre, with plenty of room to grow.

I am disappointed in this place and also the customer service. My lady went into this location a couple days ago told the lady in there that she wanted sunglasses . then she went in today to pick up the sunglasses and they gave her the wrong glasses and then on top of that they tried Hustling her 40 extra dollars to converge the glasses into sunglasses which was definitely a bad call for your co workers to even try that in the first place . So at the end they knew they were in the wrong so they ended up fixing the issue like they should have done in the first place.

Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service! I broke my glasses and was trying to replace them before we left for a trip. I explained the situation to them and they assured me that they could have my glasses ready before we left (just single vision sunglasses I needed to drive). On the day my glasses were due to be picked up, they said their machine broke and they put me off day by day until it was too late. They were extremely rude and really didn't seem to give a damn if I ever got my glasses. On the last day of my out of state vacation, they called and said I could pick up my glasses. I asked for a discount because of the extreme inconvenience and they offered me $50 off the NEXT time I bought glasses from them. As if I would ever go through that again. A pretty safe offer on their part.

I have gone to One Hour Optical for many many years. The employees in this store are always cheerful, knowledgeable, quick to help you pick out flattering frames for YOUR face, and, in general, just fun to be around. I have tried other optical stores, but this is, by far, THE BEST.

The employee turnover at this location is incredible. I had my eye exam and ordered my glasses on 9/16. The next week I got a phone call stating that I didn't pay enough so I owed an additional $40 on top of the $90 I'd paid on 9/16. I received an email telling me the glasses were done on 10/4 while I was out of town. I went in to pick up my glasses on 10/14 and was informed by the manager that they were not ready. According to the manager the employee I saw was no longer employed there and they couldn't locate my glasses. She gave me a year warranty for my troubles and reordered my glasses in a different color, she was very apologetic and said she'd call me when they were ready. I got a call a week later from her asking again which color frames I wanted. Fast forward to 12/1 and I've still not received a call from her telling me they're ready, every time I call she's busy and my messages don't go anywhere. I went in to the location today and was given the glasses in the original frame color I picked in September, even though I told the manager in person and over the phone that I wanted a different color. I won't be returning next time I need an exam and glasses. Yes my glasses are nice but it took me 2.5 months to get them, I paid more than I was originally quoted, and I ended up receiving a pair I didn't want.

She inquired what I prefer in a new pair of eye glasses, then found some that would work for me, and my trifocal prescription. We got them ordered within an hour! Glad it didn't take a long time, and she will call when they come in! Easy, very customer service oriented, and non-stressful in looking for new frames!

The optometrist was great the glasses are great. Just feel like I was over charged. I paid $377 after I was supposed to get $150 off for a living social certificate that I paid 25 for. So with out the living social they been $527. Beware of this "deal".

The girl behind the desk told me, or rather scolded me, about being over 15 minutes late (she indicated my appointment was scheduled for 12:20, AND the clock on the wall was fast) and she was going to reschedule me because I was interfering with the Doctors lunch hour. Would have been great if when I called at 12:15 to confirm my address and the appointment for 12:30 then neither one of us had to waste our time. I'm a professional that treats others fairly and with respect, and I expect the same in return. I understand their may have been a misunderstanding about the time, but it could have been dealt much better. It's extremely convenient for me living in Bonnie Brae, but my family and I won't be going back.

I went there for a visit on october 2017 and it just felt like the wrong place to be. the place and the people are not welcoming at all. the sample of contacts i go didn't feel right. so I had to go back for a second visit and the prescription changed and the contacts brand did as well. I decided to order some glasses and the gave me a call for pick up 30 min before close !!! at the pick up, the rep picked up a case for kids to put in my adult glasses when i asked she said there is no specific case as long as they fit. I did not argue. now the frame is peeling. I decided to get a full year supply of contacts and guess what I was charge 200% the price . they have no shame no customer service. nothing.

I have been going to this location for years since they have a great selection to choose from. Don't think I have ever seen the same eye dr however so they must have lots of turnover. Set aside some time for the appointment because it's not always efficient and speedy. This year I got a text saying it was time for my next exam- how helpful! I immediately called to set an appointment. Once I got there I was told my appointment was canceled since I was not eligible for my benifits for a few more weeks!? Why did they send me a reminder and take my appointment if they knew when my eligibility was?? As a mom of three it's hard to get to these appointments so I was pretty upset and won't be going back. Wish I could say the staff was sympathetic or apologetic about the situation- they just acted like I have a clue when my eye benifits renew each year! What a waste!

Friendly and professional staff that helped me get the glasses I needed despite the fact the optometrist with Denver Eye Practice failed to prescribe the right lenses in two tries. Got my actual prescription with an optometrist here and am very happy. Kudos to Anthony, Donna and Nicholas for fast, friendly and professional service since the prior optometrist couldn't get it right at all. My thanks also to Dr. Lupton who got it right on the first visit--as most optometrists should.

My husband broke his glasses and is practically blind without them. We went there to get new glasses as we had originally bought his glasses there. They wanted him to get a new exam. He absolutely refuses to get his eyes dilated. The optician yelled and screamed at him for not wanting to! We got the glasses ordered and they said it would be a week. I said, NO WAY. He needs them today. It was very expensive, especially since we had insurance, but my husband needed his glasses. We finally got them in a few days, but my husband had to wear his glasses all taped up. After going to other vision clinics, I found that other ones are caring and helpful! Imagine that! I will never go back to One Hour Optical. And where do they get that title since you cannot possibly get anything there in one hour, except a headache!!!

I have been going to One Hour Optical for four years and have had a wonderful experience every time! I have been to 3 of their locations (which were all good) and my favorite is the store on Colorado Blvd. They have a fabulous selection of frames and the customer service and style/fit feedback is most helpful. One year, my insurance (3rd party) lab broke my new frames and the staff at One Hour went above and beyond to help me locate a replacement pair (a discontinued style) and have it shipped over from London. I highly recommend this company to everyone!

For the 1st time in a decade, I have vision as part of my health insurance through my employer. This was very exciting. I am covered for one eye exam per year, one set of frames up to $120 and the lenses to go in the frames. Sweet deal, right? Two years ago at Lens Crafters I paid cash for two pairs of glasses; one regular, one sunglasses - the total with anti-glare came up to $350. Today, using my insurance at the One Hour Optical on Colorado & Mexico, I was charged $425. When I asked if this was after what my insurance covered, I was told absolutely it was and they pointed to a very confusing receipt that didn't actually have the word 'insurance' or 'copay' anywhere on it. Whatever. I go ahead and pay the bill. When I ask when my glasses will be ready they say that they're really sorry but because of the anti-glare coating, they'll have to send the glasses off-site and will call me when they are ready. I accept this but I am not happy about it. Two days later, I decide to call and see if they have some sort of eta. I am put on hold for a minute, then the lady comes back and tells me it will be 9 days from today - 9 days! I tell her that is really disappointing given that this is 'One Hour Optical' and she says she's sorry but that's just the way it is and there's nothing at all that can be done. ..sure there is. it's called a Refund.

My experience was a mix. The tech was abrupt, didn't tell me what she was doing, just barked commands at me. The optometrist totally made up for it though. I don't know her name, but she was super kind and informative. The guy who insisted on helping me find new glasses was really nice about it at first, but then I could tell when he was fed up with how long I was taking. He abruptly announced that I had enough choices picked out and then rushed me through checkout, before we got to see all the glasses. He kept trying to sell me fancier types of lenses. I understand that that's part of his job, but I don't appreciate pushiness. Especially when he didn't want to take the time to show me all the areas of glasses. Anyway, the visit served it's purpose, and it was positive overall. I ordered some glasses I love!

When we first walked in, there was a very nice ambiance. Penny, approached us at a very appropriate time, by allowing us to browse for a couple minutes. She pulled glasses off the shelf for my mom to try based on what colors and shape would complement her face. We didn't waste any time and picked some out, went shopping and came back for them to be completed. They had to give my mom a temporary lens because they didn't have that one on hand. They were accommodating due to the fact we wouldn't be able to return for a few weeks to swap them out. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we will be back!

If you have a month give them a try. I went to the store on Colorado Blvd 3 Saturday ago and it wasn't busy at all. I loved the selection but after looking around for 45 minutes and not a single one of the 4 people standing around offered to help I went to the counter and asked. Then waited a bit longer and finally the store manager helped me. She was quick with an opinion and helpful even if she did seem detached. I was told I would get my glasses within 7 days. They came in 11. Which was unfortunate but hey, I had them picked up while I was at work and I had them! I happily put them on and I couldn't see.. at all. I called right away and was brushed off hi 2 people until I demanded that they at least compare the script. Final I was told it would take a few min to check and they would call back in 10 min. Three hours later the manager who put in the original order called back to let me know she had entered the script for both lenses incorrectly. I explained that my glasses were broken and I needed them ASAP. I asked if they could be rushed multiple times and the response was that she would keep am eye out for them and they should be in in 8 days. No apology, no hurry to get a new pair, nada. For the record these arent cheap glasses. The lenses alone were over $400 and the frames were more than $200. I am now on day 15 still waiting, still can't see and they aren't expected in for "a few more days"

I have been going to this location for over a decade, and for the duration of that period it has been my go-to shop for eyewear. I love the optometrists and cannot overstate how knowledgeable they are. In a word, the optomestrists are all remarkably smart. It is unfortunate, however, that they seem to bear the burden of lackluster staff and high turnover. I used to be able to call and place an order or set an appointment in a matter of minutes. These days, it's become a chore and a hassle just to reorder my contact lenses. Additionally, whenever I call there seems to be a presumption that I need to schedule an eye exam, even when my prescription is still valid. I'm really disappointed this shop has become what it has, because I would love to continue giving my business to the wonderful optometrists. However, I cannot justify paying the wages of employees who do not or cannot be bothered to return a call, and who try to nickel-and-dime me wherever possible. As I write this message, I am going on five hours waiting for a return phone call from the staff who apparently cannot be bothered to help me place an order.

We live in the Oskaloosa, Iowa area there were no vision sites in the area that could not get me in and have replacement glasses within 4 days. My husband and I were leaving for Chicago. I called One Hour Optical on a Friday they had me in the doors for an exam by the next day. I pick out frames with Penny’s (Assistant Manager)help. Thank God she was amazing we laughed so hard. It was an awesome experience. The doctor was great and the gentleman who made my glasses was amazing. I have had glasses almost all of my adult life and never had I had a pair of glasses that were so clear. I am so pleased with the team at One Hour Optical thank you for getting me right in and understanding my situation. Penny even shared her embarrassing puppy stories with me so made me feel so much better.

Friendly staff! I brought my daughter to an appointment on a Saturday afternoon. They were very busy and I was getting a little irritated because she had made an appt but. wasn't seen until approx 10 minutes after the appointed time. I do understand how things happen, so it wasn't too much of a concern. After her eye exam there was a little bit of a misunderstanding, but this is where my 5 star review comes in. I was able to speak with the manager, and I felt like I was speaking to an old friend. She was very easy going, understanding, and kind. The miscommunication was handled professionally and thoroughly. This could have definitely went a different way, and I'm so glad it did not. I would recommend this business to anyone, from the optometrist to the eyeglass selection, staff and management. You just don't find good service like this these days. I went to One Hour Optical to get a new pair of Bifocals. Within seconds of walking in the door Penny was already helping me pick out new frames. She was absolutely amazing, she clearly knows exactly what she is doing and gave me great input on my new glasses. While buying new glasses can be stressful, she made the whole experience fun and so so so easy. Because of my need for progressive bifocals I could not get them in one hour. However Penny made sure that they could be shipped to me as quickly as possible. She also gave me some tips for adjusting to progressives (I had only had line in before). Overall an amazing experience, I will 100% be returning in the future.
