We have been going to Colorado family eye center for several years and have always been impressed with the service. This year my daughter got contacts (she’s 12) and I was blown away with the time and attention they gave to her. They went out of their way to make sure she was comfortable with putting them in and taking them out. They were patient, caring and had fun with it. So thankful to have them in our neighborhood.

Nice doctors, but are now 2 for 2 years at ordering contacts. Was told don't leave a voicemail due to staff shortages. Emailed over a week ago to order new contacts and so far no response. Calling NEVER works. No luck ever getting a person on the line. After last year, I thought I would give them another chance. Maybe practice is too big and not concerned with customer service. If I can actually get my contacts, I will be looking for a new eye doctor.

I do like the optometrist. Dr. Huston is present, quick and thorough. I would advice against filing your prescriptions there. Somewhat slow, pushy and very pricey. The copay alone will cost you more than getting your lenses at Costco or any online retailer without insurance.

The Dr. here is amazing. It's unfortunate she's surrounded by such an incapable staff. To type everything we went through with them would be far too long. The short of it is they are disorganized, they don't follow up, they have bad customer service skills and just generally are very poor at their jobs. My husband has gone back to them because they have the frames he wants but is having to follow up and jump through hoops to get his glasses. He even said next time he'll seek out a different place with the frames he wants.

My son failed his eye exam at school, so we booked into see Dr. Huston after hearing positive reviews from neighbors. Turns out, he has a severe astigmatism and needed glasses. I felt just awful that I hadn’t noticed he needed glasses, but Dr. Huston was so lovely about assuaging any guilt and helped my son come to terms with why he needed to wear glasses, too. After receiving the glasses, he felt “car sick” while wearing them, so I called the office and left a message for Dr. Huston. She called me back that day and gave us some options for when/how long to wear the glasses until he became accustomed to them. Since then, my youngest son has had an exam with Dr. Huston and my oldest has had several follow-ups. They’ve always ran on time, and have been extremely patient with my young children! Highly recommend Dr. Huston’s office!

It was so refreshing to be treated so kindly and respectfully by the front office. A rare experience in a medical office! The exam was the most comprehensive I have received in my whole life. I felt like Dr. Huston really cared and she explained procedures as they were done. Her assistant was as wonderful as the rest of the staff. That office actually applied the insurance I had instead of saying they took my insurance and applying a small pittance. Ten stars for them

I am very disappointed with the service I received here my son has a lot of special needs and I came here for his glasses out of a recommendation. Someone from the facility left me a voicemail explaining to me something about his frames that I didn't understand so when I called back I was told that the frames were ready and I needed to come and pick them up. So I drove 30 minutes to come and pick them up and then was told that I needed to have brought my son. when I said this was the first time hearing about it I was coldly told sorry and that was it. I then went on to explain that I was only told to pick up glasses and the reply was just a cold sorry. Taking my special needs son out the house and across town is not an easy task for me. I would have done it no problem if that was communicated. So to drive 30 minutes to go back home to get him ready and here and then to come back is a bit daunting. In addition I am an educator and my work life starts Monday. Again I'm very disappointed because I was hoping that this would be a great place for my son to get his first pair of glasses. This experience has been less than happy.

Call in number does not provide an option to speak to someone if you have questions about a prescription or have a question. I was sent away with the wrong prescription and have no idea how to get in touch with someone in order to correct this mistake.

Tried to call in to get appointment, phone still on "break" an hour plus past listed times. On hold for 10+ min, no doctor at location near me on available days, nearest locations a far travel north and south, still tried to go for one but have an old payment to make up so they will not make appointment for me to come to them physically to clear things up and wanted me to spend more time on phone with them while I am at work (already an hour and half plus now). Had a good experience with them before getting first pair of glasses (ever). Can't continue to work with a place so inflexible with with office hours, locations and customer care policies.

Scheduling agent is very Rude and unprofessional I wasn't even able to get past scheduling an appointment for my 2 children. What a shame I will just take my children elsewhere.. Colorado Family eye Centers please teach your employees some proper phone ediqite and manners!!!

We waited for quite some time here even though we had an appointment. Sitting before the appointment for 20-30 min with a toddler is tough. Then when we went to check out the employee at the front pulled out a large book to determine our bill. He looked like he had no idea what to do, called someone from the back, and they just flipped a few pages and landed on a number. I was confused, so I asked for clarification on the amount -- we were told by our insurance that the cover all eye care when referred by a doctor -- although these guys didn't seem to think that was true. They agreed to send to our insurance. Later, our insurance said they would certainly cover it if coded like a referral. Stapleton Eye Center really made this process so difficult, and time consuming that we ended up paying anyway. It's also very difficult to reach them on the phone -- it often rings and rings. I won't be bringing my kiddo back here.

Love the staff. Excellent service all around even if a bit pricey for glasses. They do have a great warranty. But you can buy your glasses wherever you want.

My wife and I have always had good experiences at this place seeing Amanda Huston. You need to book well in advance for a regular check-up, but service is always good and the front desk staff are very helpful.

We have gone here for years and really appreciate the friendly staff -from the Doctor to the front desk personnel. Nikki is the best at helping us find the right type of frames/magnetic clips and she has great positive attitude too.

They never answer the phones. They have you on hold for the longest and then transfer you only so you can leave a voicemail -.- awful customer service.

Love Dr Houston.! The office staff have been helpful but they are impossible to reach. I called 10 times over the course of a day they were open and no one ever picked up. Got the answering service once and they refused to take a message, instead they directed me back to the office number. What's the point of having an answering service if they don't take messages. I'd really like to stay with Dr. Houston but don't have the time to play phone tag. I'll be looking for an office that picks up the phone.

Dr. Houston is awesome! Unfortunately like so many others said, it's nearly impossible to actually talk to somebody on the phone, have phone calls returned, order contacts or glasses. I would not recommend going here based on that. I do not feel like a respected or valued patient.

I made a drop-in appointment to get new glasses with my new prescription in hand. My vision insurance with work hadn't kicked in yet so they gave me a 30% discount. The staff are a good, friendly, and knowledgeable group that provide great customer service.

My daughter and I both see Dr. Houston, but it wasn't until I seriously injured my eye last fall that I really began to appreciate her and her staff. I had struck my eye full force with some dead sunflowers while cleaning my yard. I couldn't even walk straight because of the pain and discomfort, honestly I felt ridiculous! Dr Houston not only took me as an urgent appointment on a Saturday but came in on her day off to see me and check on my eye and how it was healing. She was kind, empathetic, knowledgeable and efficient. I am so very grateful for her and her staff.

As others have mentioned, Dr. Huston and her assistants are great. However both making appointments and getting glasses or contacts here is literally terrible and frustrating. When I got ocular shingles, my physician wanted an ophthalmologist to check out the nerves within that eye. “Great!” I thought, “Good thing I go to a practice with ophthalmologists!” Nope! There were booked several weeks in advance and I could not get a time to meet with them that was any way convenient or timely for this semi-emergency need (plus, it was frustrating phone tag with the receptionist- see comment above with making appointments). I went to the UCH Eye Center (got a next day appointment!) and was so pleased with their care that I did LASIK earlier this year with them. My husband and father also left the practice for very similar reasons and now both go to Elevated Eyecare. I do not recommend but I would follow Dr. Huston if she left for another practice.

Terrible customer service! Poor selection of adult glasses in my opinion. Difficult to make an appointment due to limited business hours. Final straw for me was that I waited 3 weeks for my contacts (nothing specialized) to come in! I called several times and the office was either "closed for lunch" or I sat on hold so long I gave up. Finally, I just showed up and was told "you received a text" which I never did. There was no attempt as resolution or apology for error.
