Very helpful staff and glasses at a great price! There's an eye doctor inside the store so you can get a prescription then come out to get your new glasses in the same day. Most glasses are supposed to be ready within 30 minutes since they prepare the lens within the shop. If you want their additional options, it could take 2 weeks.

35 min before closing they told me I couldn’t get a pair of glasses before closing, despite advertising that you can get glasses in 30 minutes. That being said the store had a large variety, larger than most others.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Service was extremely fast for being able to completely customize your glasses from the start. You pick from a huge selection of frames, and you can watch the assembly process through glass walls.

Love! So kind and helpful. Gresy selection. They were out of my lender but the very helpful employee assured me that she would call as soon as they are ready. It could easily have taken a few weeks. Nope! The very next day the same woman called to let me know they were ready! She sounded excited for me too. ☺ Very good experience and definitely highly recommend.

Staff were super helpful in picking out the right frames for my face shape / prescription. They have a huge variety of different eyeglass frames and smaller selection of sunglasses. It took less than 30 minutes to make my glasses and they even had contact case and solution so I could try them on before leaving the store. Most eyeglasses including prescription lenses are around $100. I’ve converted from Warby Parker.

My mother and I visited JINS to have new prescription glasses made after poor experiences with other retailers. We came in around noon on a weekday, selected frames, submitted our prescriptions, and then returned about 30-45 mins later to pick up our glasses. The store is a short distance from Powell Street BART. The total was around $200 for two pairs of single-vision prescription glasses with no special coatings. After dealing with tension headaches from an improperly made Rx from another retailer, I think the cost and time it took to get to this location was worth it for a properly fitting, accurate pair of glasses. They will measure your interpupillary distance (PD) during the ordering process, so don't worry if your optician didn't list on your Rx. The customer service is phenomenal. A sales associate helped me find frames that matched my old pair. She also assisted my mother in finding frames that fit her tastes. We left very happy with our selections. The frames are stylish, very lightweight, and fit well. Minor adjustments can be made to the nose bridge on-site if need be. There was an axis error in my glasses, but an employee noticed this, informed me, and remade my pair in about 10 minutes. I appreciate the dedication to accuracy and quality. I will definitely return to JINS for future glasses purchases.

Cool & varied selection of stylish frames including contemporary & vintage designs within reasonable budget prices. Love visiting this busy location off Powell St. Staff are always upbeat & friendly, but lines can get long due to the high foot traffic. Shirley was super sweet. She initially helped me over the phone & managed to dig up a pair of frames i had my eye on that were sold out online. She was patient & delivered exceptional customer service. Justin was nice too & made the transaction seamless. Very happy with my 3rd pair of JINs frames. Will be back soon.

Don’t understand why this place is not packed all the time?! Reasonably priced glasses and frames. Plus 20/20 is just in the store that if you plan it right, you can have eyes examined, glasses made in less than an hour! And prices are great! Jins AND 20/20! It’s just great!!

After ten years of wearing glasses, I broke my first pair in college. Cue ominous music. My vision on a good day can be described as crap-tastic and on a bad day...well, let's just say that lasick isn't a option for me due to my -7.75/-7.25 prescription. Then - after some intense googling - I found Jins. At first, I thought it was too good to be true. Glasses made while you wait at extremely reasonable prices?! It had to be fake. But it wasn't!!!! I got my favorite pair of glasses from here, and get compliments all the time on them!!!!

I LOVE this place. Just came here today for the first time in need of a new look. They have tons of styles and colors to try on, you are sure to find the perfect pair like I did. Staff are nice and helpful. You get your prescription pair ready in 30 mins as long as your lens prescription are in stock. They have eyeglasses and sunglasses.

Move over Warby Parker! I have struggled to find affordable frames and lenses for 20 years. I have an extremely high prescription, their high-index aspheric lenses are included in the price! The quality thin lenses (goodbye 'coke bottle' lenses) don't distort my vision or give me headaches. Better yet, they were able to make my glasses under 20 mins before catching a flight home. Excellent choice of lenses for narrow, small faces with nose pads (asian women). Thank you Jins!

Lovely store that makes glasses in 30 minutes! Tons of selections and many that fit Asian faces well (you know, so you have glasses resting on your nose and not on your cheeks!). The staff is also really helpful and knowledgeable about their product and provide great suggestions.

I ordered a pair of glasses online through JINS. After two weeks, I could find the package, I went to USPS to ask for it, although the status of the product is DELIVERED, I did not see any packages. I reach out to JINS and Jericho who helped me, just send me a new pair. I was worry to pay $200 for nothing, but Jericho got my back. Thanks once again.

Love the glasses and the price! But beware of the location on weekends. As it's located in Union Square, you see the large crowd sizes as expected but this store location never has anyone available to help. Whether looking for help on the floor or just waiting in line, expect to wait 20-30 mins long, vs the common sense 1-3 min expectation.

It became quite an addiction for me to visit their store and order new frames. They make your glasses in 45 mins (can be 60 minutes in peek hours). Super convenient, your frames will be ready by the time you finished your shopping.

This is the second time I visit the store, the first one was an incredible experience. This time started bad when the lady that approached me told me that there were no system records for my previous visit as it was three greats back Then, when I was about to show her my prescription on the cell phone she was about to write the details on 1X1 inch post it, after I asked her to please write the details on a bigger paper she took out a 2.5X2.5 inches postit. Really? Can’t you be a little bit more professional? At the end .... as my prescription is older that 3 years, by law they are not able to produce my glasses, so I left. When I passed again next to the store 20 minutes later noticed a sign mentioning that there was an opticians on the premises and that walk-ins were welcomed. Why I was not offered that service and be able to leave with the three frames I had selected before? Plenty of room to have a better customer experience

Staff are super friendly and helpful here. They always smile and especially the lady who helped me with the fitting. Her name was mayumi I believe. Her customer service was very polished and she fitted my glasses on a short time with no fuss. Will keep coming back

Be prepared to wait weeks for your glasses if they are bi-focal , transition, etc. I paid for my glasses ($300) on March 31, 2016 . I was told they would be sent to my house in 2 weeks. They have called my house 3 times to let me know the lenses were scratched, broken, etc. They should one day ship my glasses and give me a partial refund. This really sucks.... 2 stars for the guy who helped me and left messages he was really nice...Todays date is May 3, 2016, over a month now. Will they ever get it right ?

I was very plesaesd with their service. I believe the assocaite helping me was Issac. He was very knowledgeable, he helped me pick the right frame and I'm very happy with the frame I got. He helped me from start to finish. This place is great I recommend it to all my friends and family members. This is the go to place for glasses. Fast and friendly. I LOVE this place! Incredibly helpful, super friendly, very knowledgeable staff! Excellent variety of high quality designer-like frame options that range from classic to on trend styles. I walked in, without an appointment, approached a sales person, explained what I needed and was seated having an eye exam within 3 minutes. The lens strength was determined, then I was taken to the women’s section of countless frame options. I tried on about 10 different style frames, narrowed it down to one, took it to the sales person assisting me, I was as given a claim ticket receipt and told my glasses would be ready within 30 minutes time. Once my eyeglasses were ready, they were custom fit to my head, over my ears for a comfortable snug fit by lightly heating and bending the arms and balanced on a flat surface to perfection. I was told should I have any issues with my new frames or lenses, if the lenses or frames were to be damaged in any way, they have a 6 month warranty and will be replaced with new frames and lenses at no additional cost to me as long as they accompany the special warranty receipt I was given with my purchase as they do not maintain my information of purchase in their data system. With the time it took for my eye exam, searching for frames and the 30 minutes it took to create my new custom reading glasses -(one lens was stronger than the other), I was in and out in 45 minutes! I was so impressed with the exemplary service and high quality eyeglasses I received (as well as a complementary fabric covered hard cover eye glass case in my choice of color + lens cleaning cloth) for a very affordable price, that I’ll be back again and again whenever I am in need of a new pair of reading glasses. I highly recommend!

Love how modern glasses buying as we know it in Asia has finally come stateside. All staff members are genuinely interested in helping you choose out a great pair of new glasses. Can't beat the prices they offer hear elsewhere, nor the speed. Single vision lenses can be usually done in 30 min, while others take 2 weeks, but will be delivered to your home for free.

They have quite a great variety in their options, and after spending about an hour making some really hard decisions, I wanted to walk away with 2 pairs instead of one! Unfortunately, I ended up going home with nothing since they don't accept any insurance! This was really disappointing!

Large selection of glasses as others above have already mentioned. Many of the try on glasses are a bit warped from being tried on so often. There seems to be an actual facility to make the glasses there and you can actually get any normal frames that you have made in a day or two which is awesome. It didn’t work for me because My prescriptions are insane but that’s ok. The frames are great for asians because most of them have nose support.

I’ve always bought designer frames at LensCrafters and spend a good amount to make sure they last me a year or so. I decided to get a spare pair from an alternative store like JINS just because they were near my office at Union Square and they offered refreshing designs compared to my normal aesthetic (muted black and professional shape to match my work in finance). The Good: Cool vibe Huge store with hip designs Cheap compared to what I typically pay for designer pairs (Gucci, Burberry, etc) The Bad: Entire store had one SA handling a huge store Snooty/ Snobby SA To be fair, SA was assisting a customer when I inserted myself for a quick question on how fast they can turn around glasses. However, number one, he did not smile whatsoever (made me feel like I should have not even approached him); two, I felt I was profiled (I’m Asian) with his one word responses to my questions (I made sure that my questions were few so that he can return to his customer); three, no thank you or see you again after I left. So much so for cheap alternatives. I would have loved to be proven wrong that you get what you pay for but in this case...

My experience at Jins was outstanding. Had an eye exam, picked out frames, had lenses made and all from a super friendly and helpful staff. The price is unbelievably reasonable and my glasses were ready in less than an hour. What a find!

I stopped by on my way home from my appointment with my regular eye doctor. I had just ordered a pair of glasses with my eye doctor which I have to wait two weeks to receive. I stopped in Jins as this was my 3rd time walking past the store and everytime I have been intrigued. Well today I made it in and paid $100 out of pocket for a second pair of glasses. It took 45 minutes not 30 minutes for the glasses to be made, but I had to remind myself it's better than the 2 weeks I have to wait for the pair my regular eye doctor ordered for me today. I will definitely be back the variety is great and service is relatively quick if the store isn't too crowded.

I am a big fan of JINS. I've gotten two glasses from them already. The frames are super stylish, lightweight, and you get a great pair of glasses for under $100 in an hour. I have pretty strong prescriptions and astigmatism. In the past, a pair of glasses will be close to $500 to $1,000. JINS is such a game changer. I love it!

This is a very intimidating glasses store. Their prices are affordable - $60-$120 for full pairs, including lenses - but it has a trendy decor/vibe, so employees are very snooty and discriminatory. I've gone here a few times, and employees were fake-polite, and failed to help me find the right frames. But one time, I got the most discriminatory, stereotyping employee. Though I was dressed my best, in stylish and quality clothes/accessories - the employee immediately asked me, "DO YOU HAVE A BUDGET"?! That felt shocking and offensive. JINS is already one of the most affordable places you can get glasses in person - and she SINGLED ME OUT for asking about budget? Despite my politeness, enthusiasm for JINS, and nice clothes - she STILL stereotyped me as poor, dowdy, untrendy, "on a budget." She was also pretty condescending to me, and treated me like less than human. She selected some frames for me that were ugly and matronly - not the hip, current SF styles I would've chosen. I really needed a pair of glasses, so I just selected anything. She was pretty cold and indifferent during the checkout process, too. I brought up the painful profiling and stereotyping to a manager - and they made things better. But I never shopped at JINS again. Recently, they had a booth downtown, not far from the store. When I came up to the booth, the people there were very rude and condescending. JINS has made a very bad name for themselves. Too much hipster pretentions for nothing. I spoke to the District Manager recently, and he was incredibly offensive, bullying, and hurtful. I've never encountered anything this remotely bad with any optical store before. JUST BOYCOTT!
