I have always been pleased with the care that I receive at UAB Eye Care, so much so that, for 15 years, I've driven 200 miles round-trip for their services. If possible, I am even more pleased with their care of my aunt who has gone with me to UAB Eye Care for 10 years. The providers, the front desk staff, and the students work with me to ensure that my aunt, who has dementia, receives excellent care. They synchronize my aunt's and my appointments and exams and do everything they can to make sure that I can assist my aunt with her examination. They are always patient, helpful, and kind.

Fantastic staff, I have VSP insurance so it covered mostly everything. Great ol time. Never had more fun getting my eyes checked. UPDATE: they tricked me a little and didn't tell me the cost of a contact fitting would be $80 and I was supposed to sign a contract saying I agreed to it and they couldn't find the contract that I have no memory signing. So. Not sure if I'm gonna end up paying that $80. Because I am a silly broke college student. And that's sorta BS. Don't trick me.

This place I tell ya! So surprisingly great. They walk you back and check you thoroughly . One Of the most in depth eye examination I have ever had .This guy was none stopped cover everything from A to z.He even took my blood pressure that was new? I felt really special coming out of his exam room knowing that I really was cared for and all doubt was removed great experience I will be back. A matter of fact that was the only bad thing was you could not set your nexts visit up but they send notices when time for your next visit great office visit!

Wonderful experience. The new UAB Eye Care center is the place to go. You actually receive great treatment for your dry eyes and not just to cover the symptoms. You also receive several noval eye tests like MMP-9 inflammatory assay of your tears that tells you the cause of your dry eyes and images of your eyes and tear glands. Very interesting tests to pinpoint the underlying cause of your eye disease. Several Clinical trials are going on that pay you a fee every time you go there. Your tears are being testes with molecular genetic tests after you see the specialist. The results are fast 20min and accurate. I recommend them to all my family and friends.

I saw two different doctors during my last two visits. I wish scheduling would have allowed me to see the same doctor for both visits to see if my condition was improving. I don't believe any photos were made for the second doctor to know for sure.

Dr. Steele is so attentive and make sure that all questions are answered and she also involves the patient in the entire process, meaning that she gives you the opportunity to be a part of your treatment instead of being a dictator. I received an eye exam for contacts and glasses from 4th year student, Abby Morris. Abby was very competent, thorough, patient and pleasant. I in no way felt rushed and I was very happy with the entire process. I had waited a few weeks for an appointment because I requested a particular professor that had been my optometrist a few years ago in the private sector. The night before my appointment I received a text regarding my appointment and another staff name was listed. Upon arrival, I explained the situation and the front desk arranged for my former optometrist to come down for an evaluation with Abby. This was very thoughtful and kind of everyone involved. I am sure that the optometrist listed on the text was wonderful also, however, I had my heart set on seeing Dr. Laurent. In addition, purchasing glasses was a painless experience. I received excellent help and I am extremely pleased with the entire experience.

Dr. Hope Vinogradov is the best doctor I have ever found. She went above and beyond for my son. She not only has worked to make sure his vision is the best it can be with his lenses but she has improved his quality of life. Thanks to her thorough examinations and patience with him we are finally on the track to getting everything we need for him to be successful. All thanks to her recommendations. He was born with poor vision so what he sees is his normal so I can only imagine how difficult it is for a pediatric OD to get the correct prescription. This woman is a God send! She was definitely the answer to many prayers for us.

I was very pleased with the care that I received from the optometry students and Dr. Ablamowicz for my dry eyes. The students did a great job performing all of the tests and explaining exactly what they were doing with each test. They were very caring as they questioned me throughout the testing to see how I was doing. Dr. Ablamowicz was very thorough as she explained the results of the testing and recommended a treatment program for me. I had communicated to my personal optometrist about my dry eyes, but no testing was done in the office to determine the cause. A standard treatment was recommended, but this treatment would not have taken care of my particular problem. Most optometry offices do not have the equipment that is available at UAB School of Optometry in order to correctly diagnose the specific causes of dry eyes. I am very pleased with the care that I am currently receiving from UAB School of Optometry.

Our family is so appreciative of the outstanding care we received at the UAB Pediatric Eye Clinic. Other eye professionals had not probed deeply enough to determine what our grandchild's vision issues were. Once properly diagnosed the child immediately could write and read with greater accuracy and less eye fatigue. Now we are working to refine her ability to use both desk top and lap top computers with less fatigue. What a blessing this clinic is for children with special vision needs in Alabama!

UAB Eye Care has the best professionals in the field. You can count on receiving the best, most up-to-date treatments and advice from the UAB Eye Care staff. I like that you can book your appointment online and confirm appointments over text. Even when you get there, check-in is easy by scanning your own driver's license and insurance card in about 1 minute or less (no more filling out ten pages of forms every single year!)

In my 32 years on this earth I had never had an eye exam and I was nervous and not entirely sure what to expect. I can't imagine having a better experience, my Doctors were friendly, knowledgeable and even educated me on some stuff as we talked. They made it as pleasant as possible. I would recommend them to anyone, I'm actually urging my husband to make an appointment and planning to make an appointment for my son (who as far as I can tell has no vision issues, but my Doctor explained to me the recommendations for vision screening in children and why you do it even when things seem fine).

Prepared a prescription for regular glasses. Prepared a prescription for computer-work glasses [new idea to me].
