This is, by far, my best experience. I've been wearing glasses for 20+ years. The folks here just went above and beyond for me. They helped me pick 2 beautiful frames and made sure I got the best possible deal. I'll be going back for more glass and my eye exams.

Update 2/6/2019: I am now wearing my old glasses because the woman on the screen gave me the wrong prescription. STEER CLEAR!! I went to this location 2 years ago for new glasses s and an exam, and loved it! It was awesome! So when it was time to go again, they were the first I thought of and booked my appointment online. So I get there early and walk in, and the sales rep makes eye contact with me and then keeps doing whatever she's doing. Other people who were clearly employees also looked at me, and said nothing, did nothing. So I stand there for a good couple of minutes waiting for anyone to acknowledge me and tell me where I need to go. No one does, and I remembered from the last time that the exam room are in the back so I go back there, and the 2 employees back there, again, look right at me, and say nothing and keep doing whatever it is they're doing. I sit down on one of the only benches that are not broken, and it takes them a good 15 minutes to finally acknowledge me. Honestly, I should have left at this point but I didn't. So they give me an iPad that I check in on, then they have me call my insurance to confirm benefits. Apparently they're out of network which isn't what their website says. So I get that done, and the woman who works there who really seems to hate her job takes me in a room and blows air in my eyeballs etc etc, and then I go back out and sit down again. In another 10 minutes or so, I walk into a room where there is a woman on a screen who tells me she's going to do my exam, which, I thought was pretty cool, but that's probably something that should be disclosed before I'm walked into a room and left there. I went there expecting to talk to an actual doctor, not to video chat with someone who has probably never set foot in the US. But again, that was still pretty cool. So once that's done, it's time for me to pick my frames, I get paired of with one young lady who shows me to the women's section, gives me a frame holder, and promptly walks away. And never comes back. So another employee, allegedly a manager comes over and barely helps me because by this time, I've already made my selections. I get checked out and am told my orders will be ready in about a week. I called today to see how late the office is open because it's Thanksgiving Eve. I am told by the boy (honestly doesn't sound like he's hit puberty yet) on the phone that he's going to transfer me. I said that I just wanted to know what time they're closing today, to which he raises his voice and tells me that "they" will tell me that. I am a very easy going person and I don't usually get upset enough to post negative reviews. But this has been the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I don't know what happened, but this place has gone completely downhill, and does not deserve to be open. I will never go back.

Do NOT go here. I paid almost 300$ for a buy one get 1 free it's not buy one get one and they refuse to give me my pd numbers they say it's their information and i am not allowed to have it when it is MY PD numbers MY information. They are rude and took me 2 days to even get ahold of anyone about a warranty. Save money and time do not go here. They are also rude hardly speak English they say they don't understand you when you call.

I ordered glasses from them and the arm broke on my glasses I went into the store for a repair and they no longer had my glasses in stock so I left my information with an employee and she was supposed to order the frames and I never heard from her. I called back and then spoke with Sonya I gave her the information for my glasses and she failed to contact me about any information on them. so here I am 3 months down the line still no glasses. I called in today and Sonya says she doesn't remember speaking with me, but when I retell her my situation all of sudden she tells me she tried to contact me but i have no voicemail from anyone from Stanton Optical. Then she tells me it will be a fee for me to get my new glasses. I don't feel as if the way i was treated was fair i went into this establishment and spent a arm and a leg just like everyone else! this will be my last time giving them any of my time and money i do not appreciate the way my situation was handled at all.

YOU CAN FIND A BETTER PLACE FOR EYEGLASSES!!! This place will rip you off and take you for as much as possible. The staff was a pain and rude as can be. Plus they basically force you to pay more because the only glasses that was for the promotional deal my grandfather wouldn't wear.

I went and got contacts and glasses there. The exam was quick and easy, and the ladies working there were absolutely fantastic. They even held my baby so I could put my contacts in. Mackenzie is the sales manager and she personally stayed late to help me find the perfect pair of glasses and gave honest feedback. I used to go to a private eye doctor in eagle river, but now I’m sending my husband here as well. The price is unbeatable even without insurance, and the staff are fantastic. My prescription is perfect and I haven’t seen better in years!

Their advertisement is a blatant lie. It started with the FREE exam that cost 85 and was done via a television. They have no professional Optometrists on the premises. Then when I picked out my frames, I chose two different sizes and their staff fitted them so now I have one pair that the legs extend at least an inch behind my ear so the slide down my nose. All this and the COST WAS 485.00. SUCH A DEAL.

Got my eyes checked, my glass ordered and still wait for 2 week ? Most of my glass get done in 2 days or latest is 1 or a week n half. What in mind is when i need glass it meant that i needed it bad, and they still make me wait. Dont get it. I ordered from Vietnam which is half way around the world and already got my glass!

Service wasn't all that great, i went in when they were short staffed. When i picked up my glasses one lense was only half in on one pair and the lady insisted it was fine and kind of rude about it. And then i noticed both pairs of frames were exactly alike with same part # she insisted they were different. I suspect they gave me both cheap frames since i did the buy one get one free.

Stayed an extra day in Anchorage because we were told it would take one extra day for my prescription...wasnt done by close the next day so we stayed one MORE day. STILL no glasses! I had to drive the six hours home without them and that was Sunday. It is only 1 day postal service from Anchorage and this is Friday and STILL no glasses. Everytime I call the automated service, it says that my glasses are still processing in the lab but when I opt to speak to a customer service rep, I get Andria who, on Tuesday, first said they werent ready, Wednesday said they were sitting there to be sent out, then Thursday they were waiting for a shipping label to be printed...come on folks! How many days does it take to print a shipping label? I did also have an hour wait to be seen by a computer optometrist which as a free exam which I wouldnt have minded but should have been told about ahead of time and given the option before I arrived. If my glasses arrive tomorrow, I will change my stars for the better but thinking that they will not and I am furious!!! My question is this: Why is this so difficult? Stanton would be raking it in if they just advertised 'free digital eye exams' instead of being dishonest about it. They would also do better if they would just give people their damned glasses within the time limit that they promise instead of lying about it. As far as what to tell your trainers, try having them visit and go through the whole process for themselves incognito so that they can see how frustrating it is. Then maybe they will see that it is not a training problem but rather a failure in the whole process. Dishonesty is no way to run a business and making people go out of their way (in our case, 2 hotel stays we really couldnt afford) for a promise that they are not even TRYING to keep! I would love to say that I would be a return customer, but all will depend on the response to this post and whether or not I get my glasses very soon ( after reading other reviews, I am now hoping they are the correct prescription). UPDATE Monday: automated service says now that there is NO order associated with my number and tracking still says that glasses were not shipped even tho shipping label was created last Wednesday AND request for prescription that Andria said she would send me via email has also not been received. Calling corporate and BBB today. UPDATE MONDAY AGAIN! Have been on hold for over 30 minutes after representative told me that Update Tiesday: Called corporate and spoke to Rayna who told me that Andria had no way of emailing my prescription because I meeded to sign a release. She emailed it to me and I signed it. I requested a refund and the request was avoided. She sent my prescription without the pupillary distance that I requested in order to order glasses online. I wrote back...no response. UPDATE Wednesday: aaargh! Called again to speak to a manager and was forwarded to the front desk. System still tells me that there is no order for me. Tracking number still says that they have still not sent my glasses. Spoke with Virginia who said she was with a customer and would call me back. Sarag xalled back and said my glasses were shipped out and that tracking will update in a couple of hours. Not trusting that, I calling Better Business bureau today and still want my money back!

Got an appointment schedule same day I called. Thought great! Then when we get there was told could not see my son because he was not eight yet. Was not even asked about his age when we called. After a few minutes said they could see him but I had to lie about his age (he will be 8 in May). Reason is because they do not have a eye doctor in the building. It is all done via web cam and remote machinery. Ok I think. High tech. It’s been almost two weeks since his exam. I’m still waiting for a call saying that his glasses are in. I call and get an answering service and and put on hold. I have currently been on hold for 45 minutes to see if my sons glasses are in. I do not recommend Stanton Optical. Very poor customer service.

Absolutely HORRIBLE! I am still waiting for my sunglasses and it's now going into 6 weeks! Do't tell me it takes that long to make glasses of "the best quality" 6 WEEKS and I still don't know where they are, what's taking the lab so long. Know this Daniel Stanton, I will continue to bad mouth, belittle, berate your company on every social outlet I can get to until you PERSONALLY contact me and explain why it takes 6+ WEEKS for a pair of glasses! Well this place is the pits! I stopped by on a whim to get the special deal! Right! I got the special deal alright. The free exam and 2 pair for $59 turned out after picking out a pair that was supposed to be in the special actually not available supposedly. Then the saleslgirl wrote up a alternate that looked almost identical to what was not available as the special deal which would only be a few bucks over $400.00. Seem like a bait and switch and I should have known better! I refused to do the deal and then got offered a better deal without any warranty for only $189.00. My girl friend also got a bad deal too, she got her glasses and can’t read with them! They told her to try them for a few and if they weren’t satisfactory they would do another exam and redo the glasses. She called today and talked with manager and was told she would have to return them in person and they would only charge her another $89 for a additional eye exam. So Run don’t walk away from this unethical eye shop! I will never ever return! Sincerely feeling ripped off! And by the way we would have to drive from Seward to Anchorage and back again to deal with this! Only 250 mi round trip! We got the deal, right! We got something else!

We love Stanton Optical they're friendly, fast, and affordable. My son loves going to his eye appointments now, before he hated it. We went last month and did an eye exam and bought 2 pairs of glasses for just $75. We can't imagine going anywhere else.

Appointments available on Sunday. You should expect a telematics eye exam. It's not the up close and personal, minty chewing gum, visit you are used to. The prices are low because there doesn't have to be a full on Doctor there. My prescription is beautiful. I had no idea it was possible to have mid range reading glasses. There were plenty of frames, but I only need reading, so the cheaper end was great. They accept many insurances, but the special prices were good enough I didnt feel inclined to use mine. I see some negative reviews, but a lot of them seem to stem from people not asking enough questions. The price explanations were a bit confusing. Special prices generally seem to include the lowest price frames.

Erica was super helpful when I was freaking out over having lost a screw in a pair of glasses. She replaced the screw at no charge, tightened up the rest of the screws and, by her actions, made it very clear I should be using Stanton instead of any other optical store!!!

All of the staff at the airport location in Mobile Alabama were wonderful to me. The optometrist Don, was personable and very professional, and Erica and Tanya delivered unsurpassed customer service. They explained the details of the pricing, and the processing of the order in detail. There were no surprises, and although there was a glitch, they worked quickly to resolve the issue not only to my satisfaction but to my surprise! I not only highly recommend them to all of you who are out there reading this, but I have recommended them to all in my inner circle. I made an appointment over the telephone ... After driving for one hour in the rain I was told that I would have to reschedule because the optometrist was only there on Wednesday and Thursday (this was on a Tuesday) and the optometrist that they use on that day did not see clients over 80 years of age ... Sounds a little like age discrimination to me (I am 82) .. I would never use Stanton Optical for any reason ... If they cannot do appointments correctly there's no telling what trouble you might have with your eyeglasses.

Got a routine eye check up. The eye examination was done by an eye specialist all the way in Florida over a tv screen. The audio kept skipping, so I had to repeat myself. Then I had to wait over half an hour in an empty room for the eye doctor, who I thought was in the building...he is in another state. The only way the staff could reach him was through email. Pretty lame. It would be nice to see an actual doctor in person for any questions or concerns about my eye health.

Literally the worst and most unprofessional place ever! Took forever to get my contacts and glasses so I was getting a refund after I paid in cash and the glasses they didn't even come in yet the lady tried to make me pay for and I never received them(scammers) then they said they will have to send me out a corporate check which will take 21 days it's been 21 days and now they are saying it will take another 2 weeks after they took my cash in seconds and don't call customer service because they will definitely give you the run around! THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL AND COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS! I WILL NEVER SPEND MY MONEY IN THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN! AND I STILL HAVENT RECIEVED MY REFUND!

I wish I would have read the reviews before buying glasses there. Went in on December 27th and still do not have my glasses. Called customer service, was on eternal hold and then told that they didn't have an order for me. Then my order mysteriously reappeared and I was told one more week. That was two weeks ago. Can't get anyone on the phone to give me an update. By far, the most unprofessional service I have ever experienced.

My husband had an eye exam and bought glasses and sun glasses. When the sun glasses came in they were broke. It took making a big deal of it to get them to send them back. Apparently they wanted him to keep moving the glass to the right spot. Took awhile to get them back. Still not the best glasses. His regular glasses have issues one being the nose piece. Stanton refused to help him. He went back to our old place and they fixed it. These yahoos have used up our insurance so we are paying out of pocket for another exam (believe the other one has been giving him migraines. And we plan on buying him two new decent glasses that don't fall apart. Worst customer service on the planet. They won't get any more of our buisiness. And are losing business from people who hear our ordeal. What a total waste of time and money. Update: our old place gave us great glasses but since we used up insurance on Stanton, we got to pay just under $1,000 out of our pocket. Glasses and sunglasses are a must for my husband with his disability.

Upon completing my contact lens exam, I was informed that I would have to pay for services. I was not told upfront that I would be billed . I naturally assumed that since they advertised "free eye exams " there would be no fee. After contacting customer service, I received a courtesy call the next day from the office manager. She and I came to a good compromise . She was very helpful and stated that she would inform the staff of this issue. Very nice people to work with. Thanks !

I had a bad experience turned great! only because I went in for a walk in eye exam and then got sent home because their system was down and they didn’t know how long it was going to be to get it back up and running, I went home and waited for about an hour, I called and scheduled an eye exam in the same day to reserve my spot Incase the systems came back up. I went back at my scheduled time and unfortunately they were having technical difficulties just with my chart for some reason, they started to see other people before me while I waited 2 hours for them to resolve the issue. The good news is that by the time they fixed it and I was ready to check out, my 2 pairs would have been 180 bucks and the lady Tierra gave them to me 50% off for the inconvenience and I told her that she had made a bad experience good by doing that for me and I thanked her for working vigorously to figure out why my chart was not pulling up when it was my time for my exam. Thank you Tierra! And Stanton Optical!

Great experience...doctor was very good and so was the nurse. They worked with us on frames and prices so we could afford the replacement of my daughter's glasses (that the dog ate...so we were not planning on this expense) We were told the glasses would take 2 weeks so of course I was upset...but the first set was ready in less than a week!! Literally have been trying to get my order filled correctly since November it is now March. First they ordered blue lenses instead of regular clear lenses for glasses. Then it was the wrong shape and wouldnt fit in my frames. Then they didnt cut them correctly so I couldn't see out of them properly. Finally went back to try and just get a full refund they magically had another pair of lenses on hand for me and got them cut correctly. She offered a free pair of sunglasses to make up for it and they came in different frames then what I picked out and they came in prescription when that is not what I asked for. If you are ever th in nuking of going here don't. It is not worth the cheap price. Turn around walk out, never go here.

I would put zero stars if it was an option. I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with your store/office in Anchorage. I am new to the “eyeglasses” world. So of course I had questions and didn’t really know the jargon being used. I tried to ask your video chat Dr. to explain things to me but was shut down and he actually harrumphed at me. I felt that he was very impatient and wanted to rush through the exam. Then I go and find my frames. I needed bifocals and I told them I did not want the line to show. I was told my glasses would be ready in two weeks and I would receive a call when to pick them up. I ended up having to call twice, by this time it has been a month, I was told they had been there for a while. I went to pick them up and both sets had the bifocal lines showing. I reiterated that this was not what I was expecting and the young lady basically told me yes you did and that she remembered me and how I said I wanted the cheaper lenses and didn’t care about having a line showing. That is totally and completely not true. She was not the person who helped me that day and in NO way would I ever want the world to know I’m wearing bifocals. She proceeded to tell me that I would have to pay an extra $260 for their/your mistake. I left with the glasses refusing to pay anymore to a company that continued to be rude and call me a “liar”. Not happy...

I do NOT recommend Stanton Optical and I will NOT do business with them again. It's RARE for me to write a bad review, but feel I should inform others of my experience with Stanton Optical. I have used Stanton Optical twice; once to order two pairs of glasses and once to return one pair of glasses that were the wrong prescription. Both times I was told my glasses would arrive in the mail in 7-10 days. (I live out-of-town). The first time I received one pair in about 10 days and the second pair took over a month to be delivered. When I ordered the replacement for the pair that was the wrong prescription, I was told they would be delivered via the mail in 7-10 days; that was a month ago. I called today and the manager said "oh, they are here, you can come and pick them up." I explained I lived out-of-town and they were to be mailed to me. She said ok. My fingers are crossed I will received them this week and they will be the correct prescription.

I would love to personally thank Mrs. Michelle at the airport location because she did everything she could to make my experience the best one and you are getting a big hug when I come and get my other glasses. You are the best Mrs. Michelle!!!! Thank you for everything. You were a big blessing to me. I had the best experience with Stanton Optical. I did the free eye exam with two pairs of glasses, but when I got there and saw that there wasn't much to choose from I chose two pairs of the same glasses. They ordered them for me but when I finally got them like a week and a half later which was actually a lot faster than I thought they would come. I tried my glasses on and I saw that those particular glasses just weren't for me. I would personally like to thank Michelle who works there because she helped me in every way she could. She always had a nice attitude about everything and she took me over to the glasses and helped me find a pair that were my style and fit me better and traded one of my pairs since they were the same. Mrs. Michelle you are the best and that's why I come to Stanton Optical.

My experience was very modern, totally unlike any eye exam that I've ever had. The employees were very nice and professional. They help me choose frames that fit my face shape, there were multiple to choose from. The exam was free. There was a promo of two pair forn$59. I didn't do that deal. I chose to do the buy one frame, get one free. My frame was less than $130, and the second one was free. You have to understand that the free eye exam checks for all ailments. IT IS TOTALLY UP TO YOU whether or not you decide to add them to your prescription purchase. I needed bifocals. I also selected no line. I could have gotten those glasses as single vision with no readers. I didn't have to ask, I was advised upfront. I chose it all and people have to understand that a simple visit can go from under $200 to almost $400 because of your prescription requirements. My glasses were ready in two weeks and the staff even adjusted the arms on one pair to fit behind my ears well! The experience was great! I'd definitely go back.

In case you don't read my entire review, it's not about customer service, it's about the health of my eyes!!! When I came in the door the assistant there and the sales guy asked me what I would be needing. I said I only wear contacts and needed a new prescription. Assistant very firmly said the Dr required glasses whether I got contacts or not. She said I could buy contacts from them though.. I said 1800contacts was the only supplier I used (just being honest).. Sure enough, Dr finds multiple reasons why I cannot wear contacts for 6 months, maybe never again. I'm not saying that he was not being honest but pretty ironic. (I will be getting a second opinion). I'm both near and far sided. Since he refused to test my eyes for contacts and I wouldn't get my glasses until minimum 2 weeks, how would I see to do anything? Update: Today I had another exam done by a reputable optometrist. I asked her if I had the serious issues this optometrist had stated that would keep me from wearing contacts for @ least six months or maybe forever. She said there were NO ISSUES OF ANY KIND, in fact "healthy eyes" to be exact, including what Stanton's optometrist stated. Stanton's is in the EYEWEAR SELLING BUSINESS it's obvious. I will pay $159 vs $45 any day for honesty about the health of my eyes!! #STANTANOPTICALNOMORE

Lots of hidden costs and fees. My exam was done via video chat by a "doctor" in Florida! It could have been some chick in a lab coat and pajama bottoms broadcasting out of a garage for all I know. My request for a doctor in the same building was ignored. My second request was refused with no reason given. Will never go back. Their deals are falsely advertised and not worth dealing with such a shady operation.

After reading the reviews I can understand where people are coming from. I went in with an appointment and didn't get in for my exam for a good amount of time. All in all I spent around 2 and a half hours at the store. Luckily Mackenzie helped out and got things situated with my glass's. I was fairly happy when I left with what I got but will be going back to get my glass's soon and will be able to tell how they turned out. Was very pleased with the customer service and help that was provided just was a little on the long side of time spent there.

My 5 year old son broke his glasses today! Sunday! No ones open on Sunday! The day before he starts kindergarten!!!! I was freaked out! I called and spoke with James. He was wonderful! He explained what they could do and couldn’t do. They were very upfront on pricing and how long it would take. James advised me to get down there ASAP so we could have glasses for him to wear tomorrow for school. I got down there. We met Miss. Tierra. She’s absolutely amazing! She was great with my son! She helped us find a pair of glasses that fit him properly and that would work with his activities. She explained the glasses club and how it works. That sounds like a great program for us. All in all we had a great experience. We walked away with 2 pairs of glasses for a great price. I really appreciate them helping us! We will be back! I can’t say enough good about this place! I know they have my back.

They tried desperately to up-sell us to the extreme. We thought we were going to have a bill of $500 walking out of there (with insurance). Come to find out, they had added all these extra items that were not covered by insurance. My husband was told he would have to come in for a "consult" before they would release his prescription for contacts. We went ahead and got glasses. He was not told of any time limit on this "consult." He called several times to get his prescription, but each time he was told the dr wasn't there, so he would have to call back later. After 2 months, his time has run out and because he didn't get his "consult" sooner then we have to get a whole new eye exam (not covered by insurance). I have never written a bad review for any business, but this place has just really frustrated us.

That was the worst eye exam I’ve had in my life. Dr Nguyen is a jerk. I have a 30% hearing loss and he ignored me asking him to repeat himself. Then told me “You’re not special. Everyone thinks they’re special, but you’re not”. What a jerk! I will NEVER go back there. He wouldn’t even listen to me, so I’m positive the prescription isn’t even correct. Terrible service! I loved the digital eye exam. Doctor was very thorough and seemed knowledgeable, but as far as glasses are concerned? I'd go elsewhere! No one helped fit my daughter for her glasses, they expected me to make sure they were right. I was very disappointed. Total sham. Don't waste your time. In two eye "free" exams they failed to detect a serious problem with my right eye - a problem any real eye doctor would have discovered. I told them repeatedly about it and was told they would make it right. Yet when I asked for a refund, they did not give me a full refund. I asked to speak with the doctor who signed my exam sheet and was told I would have to see a different doctor at my own expense. Why would they have an eye doctor signing off on exams if they were legit? They are just a patient mill trying to sell overpriced merchandise to unsuspecting patients to collect insurance money. SCAM ARTISTS. Go see a real Optometrist or Ophthalmologist.

May 22, 2018 The try on Glasses were gross. Asked for disinfectant wipes, i got two tissues and hand sanitizer. Sill made an appointment for two of the flimsy 2 for $60 frames. I had a couple questions about the price for astigmatism and double vision, they lady asked me “how would you know that!?!” Rudely “Because thats what i have”. I just wanted to know the price. The other employee yelled from around the corner to tell me yes it’s going to cost more ($15 that’s fine to me) i was still asking her questions but she just walked away without warning and handled other customers instead. Then the other woman employee was loud and rude to a paitent on the phone. I walked to the front to tell her I wanted to cancel but she just avoided eye contact and pretended I wasn’t there. They are not transparent about prices either. May 22, 2018 not to mention she sure did go out her way to ask how old is your baby boy? When my baby clearly had flowers

I have been to this office before and visited with their in-house doctor, and this last visit was NOT what I expected. The office was not busy at all, and I was taken back in a timely manner upon checking in. I felt almost ignored at some points, that I was just another customer. I was informed of their new system and so I filled new paperwork out (previously came to this location maybe 2-3 years ago). I go through a virtual exam with a “doctor,” didn’t get to ask any questions, and was recommended to go to another office (Dimond Vision) for these questions! I was obviously unhappy that I didn’t get to ask the questions I had to either an in house doctor or even the virtual doctor. The assistant told me that they would issue a refund if I were referred out (I planned on going elsewhere since it was suggested to me). I go up front for check out and a printout of my prescription and expressed my frustration and that I felt it was a waste of my time, and was told I was not able to get a refund for their crappy services and she even compared it to a dental office. I explained that’s NOT how I would’ve done that since I work for one. The lady up front apologized it was not what I expected and said they are there for any questions, but she obviously was not the doctor either! She also recommended I go to see a optometrist instead. Overall, I suggest your assistants be more informative to your clients about the whole virtual deal (rather than depending on the 2 pt font disclosure in the paperwork, per another employee) in order to avoid frustrated customers, and your staff to all be on the same page about referrals and refunds! This was a complete waste of my time when I could’ve gone and found the solution to my eye issues elsewhere! Noted for any future (not likely) visits.

Customer service is great if you can get it. The phone number online sends you to and automated system and no matter what option you choose the only thing you can do is schedule an appointment. I chose "other inquiries" and asked about having my lenses replaced under the warranty and they couldn't help me so they gave me the local office number. I called it with no success. The phone would ring and go to an automated voicemail system that wasn't set up and I was afraid I had the wrong number because a large business like Stanton should probably have a more customer friendly phone system. I called the other number back, they confirmed I had the right number and they transferred me... I sat on hold for 10 minutes. After that I just called them on re-dial until finally someone answered. Then it was great! Very personable and helpful staff! I went in that day and had my order placed for new lenses. Now 10 days later I play the same phone game calling on re-dial until someone answers and ask if my lenses are ready. The lady I talked to wasn't sure but didn't think they were and has promised to call me back. Good thing I don't NEED these glasses to see all the time and they are still functional.

"The website ad for 2 pairs for $59.95 said that the glasses could be finished in 15 minutes, but when I arrived, I was informed that the frames that qualified for the deal had to be mailed in, which would take two weeks. This information wasn''t shared until after I had already gone through and paid for the exam, otherwise I would not have gone with your company. I was then told that if I went with other frames, they could be completed in-store, obviously a slimy tactic to get customers to purchase more expensive frames. I then chose other frames only to be informed at the last second that my prescription was too high for them to be completed that day. This was after I called ahead of making an appointment to ensure that my high prescription would not cause any additional expenditure, delay, or other issue. Customers should be informed ahead of time that the \"15 minutes\" does not apply to everyone and that if you have a high prescription, it may cause significant delay." I sent that correspondence on July 1, a couple days after my experience in the store. I called July 12 and was told that my glasses would arrive in Anchorage the next day. They told me they would be shipped to me in Fairbanks and should arrive at my address in two days. It is now July 21 and I have still not received my glasses. This is after my horrified experience in the store, where I felt mislead and taken advantage of even after my attempts to proactively ensure I would receive service as advertised. It has now been almost a month and I have not received my glasses. This is absolutely unacceptable and bordering on illegal. I have paid cash money with the expectation that I receive a product in return the same day. Stanton Optical has failed to do so and you has failed to provide reasonable recourse for that failure. I honestly believe I should be issued a full refund at this point in addition to the $50 credit they have applied to my account. I have never been so angry, sad, and disappointed at a company. I have a high prescription, just started a new job, and really need my glasses for work. I rely on them too much and the incompetence of Stanton Optical has caused me a great deal of not only emotional strain, but additional strain on my eyes. I originally went in because my glasses broke and I chose Stanton because they were supposed to offer the fastest replacement. I now highly regret ever choosing Stanton. I would advise that you try any other option before you even consider choosing them yourself for fear that you might experience similar horror and literal physical pain from eye strain. My mother and I went to the store thinking that we were taking advantage of the 2 pair for $79. They led my mother on thinking that that is what she was going to pay for each of us. After we got the eye exams our total bill for two exams and four pair of glasses was $610. Then they tried to talk my mom into buying them even though we did not have to. Then after my mom wanted a refund, they refused to give her one and then she tried to give her a discount, which means the glasses were still a total of $450. Which is nowhere near the estimated price. I was deeply disturbed by the way they forced her into to something she wasn't sure of purchasing. If I had a chance I would have not even made an appointment. I'm sad to say that someone recommended them to me. Worse decision ever. My mom has a total of three children there is no way she can afford paying $600 every time we come to the doctor. My brothers will be going somewhere else. I'd rather go blind than pay those prices.

After 9 mos and 12 trips finally said just give me back my money. They tried to short change me over 200.00. Found out from Walmart what was going on. The saga below is rather lengthy, but I cannot believe I have been through so much just to see clearly, and I still can't. I will say that the personnel on-site are very friendly and professional, but the underlying goal of this establishment is to achieve good vision, and they have utterly failed me in that regard. Please read on: I, like many on here, was surprised to find that my vision exam would be performed remotely from someone who I assume is located overseas. However, that did not strike me as super critical at first. I embrace technology, as long as I get the same result. I sat through the exam, handed over my old frames, purchased a new set of frames, and ordered two sets of new lenses and 6 months supply of contacts. They gave me a set of contacts they had in stock to walk out of the store, since I didn't have a spare set of glasses at the time. In the following days, however, I noticed that I really couldn't see that well. I couldn't read signs on the road, menu boards above cafe counters, etc. When my wife stood next to me and rattled off a menu board of which I could hardly discern a single letter, I knew there was a problem. I went in, and they offered me a second vision test, which I took. Some slight changes were made to my prescription, and I left with another set of contacts and assurances that my order would be revised free of charge. Well, my sight was better, but not much. I found a set of glasses that I wore in college (~15 years ago) and found my vision was better with them than with my brand new prescription. At that point, I got a second opinion (from an in-person optometrist). His prescription was significantly different from either of the prescriptions I had received at Stanton, but lo and behold, with contacts he gave me, I could finally see! Stanton remained positive, friendly, and professional about the whole thing and agreed to again revise my complete order free of charge based on the new prescription and give me a $200 store credit to cover what I had paid for the second opinion. It would seem my vision problems were over at this point. Alas, no. My glasses came in, and my vision was perfect in both sets. I still had a few weeks on the usable life of the set of contacts given to me by the other optometrist, so I put the contact order in the cabinet and went along with my life. When it was time to change contacts, I felt, again, that I just couldn't see clearly. My right eye seemed nice and sharp, but my left eye seemed fuzzy. I dismissed it for a couple weeks, thinking that now I was simply being picky, but I finally decided to take a closer look at the prescription of my contacts, and it turns out they filled my R eye prescription for both eyes - my eyes are similar, but not the same - which explains why my L eye is blurry with the new contacts. I am confident that when I go back to Stanton, they will "make it right" by ordering the correct prescription for my L eye free of charge, but at this point, making it right is going to take a little more than providing me with the vision correction hardware I purchased BACK IN MAY at the price I originally paid. I will be asking for at least a sizeable portion of my $800 purchase to be refunded, and I can comment back as to whether or not they honor that. I've been wearing glasses/contacts since the 1st grade, and I've never had an experience like this. I don't like to bad-mouth a business, but I felt compelled in this case, since it appears I am not the only one who has struggled with Stanton. Clear vision is easy to take for granted until you go 3 months squinting, fuzzy, and essentially handicapped. I would strongly recommend not going to Stanton.

I went in a couple of weeks ago with an appointment for an exam. The environment was nice, clean, and casual. The staff of three onsite were nice and very sociable. The eye exam was virtually skyped... I was totally unprepared for the experience but the dr was funny, polite, and didnt mind repeating herself as she was foreign. Two weeks later, today... I have both pair of glasses. I was greeted by two associates I didnt meet initially. They were polite. Everything that I was advised to expect wanting no line bifocals was accurate and less of an issue than originally assumed. I received a copy of my full prescription, glasses, and a nice cleaning cloth that also doubled as a carrying bag the perfect size for one pair! It was nice to be amongst staff that laughed and joked just as I did...lol I will definately go back! I would definately recommend!! Thanks!

Go somewhere else! This business has no integrity and cares nothing about its customers. It just a big orange box of BS. The buy one get one free is just a ploy to get you in the door. I paid as much here as I did at my other vision clinic but with a lot less quality. A LOT! Their $59.99 deal is another ploy where they have only a few frames that actually cost $19.99. It all a big lie to get you in the door. I tried getting my glasses here and after 7 trips of trying to make things right, I decided to just ask for a refund. They gave me heavy plastic lenses and I have a very weak prescription. They kept sliding down my nose. The other pair I picked out, they just lost. Couldn't find them anywhere. So I tried to pick out another pair but their selection is really awful. No one is there to help you choose and find a pair that fits your face. They are extremely understaffed and you will wait forever to be helped. Tiara was very nice and I liked her efforts but she couldn't help with what she had to work with. I was told I could not get a refund because I used insurance. So I kept trying to rectify all the issues. Finally I had enough and wrote to customer service and they agreed to refund my purchase. I was told 2-3 weeks to get my insurance refunded. Now here it is a month later and I am told it was processed in 11/29 and will be another 25 days. I have called several times and was told they would call me back. No call back. I wrote customer care to see if it could be expeditied since I have no reading glasses right now and I got an email saying, "No". No explanation just NO. I will most likely lose my frame and lens benefit for this year due to their horrible business. Just go somewhere else if you don't want to be extremely frustrated and treated like your issue doesn't matter.

My visit was fabulous. I was seen immediately at my appointment time, and the latest in technological equipment was used to perform a full examination of my eyes. I was especially impressed with Marie, who spent an hour looking over hundreds of frames to help narrow down and determine how my likes aligned with what looked good against my face. Her knowledge of the frame and lens types is impressive, as well as how she is able to apply each discount to ensure that I receive the most accommodating price package for my needs. Marie has an energy and charisma that is rarely found in sales, and even less so in the medical science field of eye care. She is a welcome breath of fresh air to the otherwise intimidating process of choosing glasses, and I would highly recommend a visit. On site lens production is a huge benefit, with less than a 30 minute wait time in my case.

I just wanted to say I watched the video about Stanton Optical not doing their job correctly and 2 getting shut down I think in Florida but I must tell you the experience at the Mobile Alabama location on Airport is nothing like what the people in the video said they experienced. I got contacts and I am telling you the glasses I had before I went to Stanton Optical gave me migraines daily from being too strong. Dr. Reed was very thorough and ensured that I had 20/20 vision, even at my follow up he was very thorough and ensured that my eyes weren't irritated.

The prescription is wrong and we have lost over 600 00 tryiing to get the it right just so he can see. The place is a rip off. Please do not go there. Walmart has better selection and cheaper prices. If i thought you were gping to be dishonest ,I would have brought our receipts. This does not include all of our time and gas you have wasted. She says you will have to come back with a receipt. I told her oh i will. Now Stanton owes us for gas and hassles because the manager wants to be dishonest. Corporate if you want to fix it now better start. Now i am done playing nice 9 mos later and my husbands now has no glasses to see with that are right and your manager refused to give us what we paid for And has the nerve to say bring back a receipt if we want the rest. We spent over 500.00 for 2 pairs of glasses. We tried to work with her and she tried some what. But do not outright lie to me and she knows we are from Mississippi that we could not get back and get the receipt and get back to Alabama in the same day. This is a hassle and additional cost with gas and time. I emailed like you requested no reply yet. Need Assistance. I can not miss another day of work to help my husband with this matter. Oct 4th he will be driving alone with the receipt to get the rest of the refund. Of course they had to credit my debit card for the first amount. So you know it has not made it back to me yet. I’ve literally never written a review on anything before. But I feel like this is necessary. Believe all the other 1 star reviews. They’re completely accurate. I had an appointment at 10am. I was there a little early. I didn’t get called into an exam room till 11:15, an hour and 15 minutes after my scheduled time. I then did the exam with a person that barely spoke English on the webcam. He moved so fast I could barely see if “lense 1 or lense 2” was better. After the exam I was sat aside for close to 30 minutes. I got called back for “contact pictures” of my eyes which I’ve never had and I’ve had contacts for 12+ years. The brightest light possible and got an instant headache. I was then sat aside again to wait for someone to pull my trial contacts. That takes 30 seconds. Everyone is now helping everyone around me but not me. I’m sitting here in the lobby typing this because I have nothing but time. It’s completely ridiculous. They have one person to help with walk in people, one “doctor” person in a white coat that gets your exam room ready, and one other assistant. And there’s 7 different people needing helped. I could be wrong but I believe I should be being helped above all else, I’ve been here for over 2 hours. It’s a complete waste of time and money. I’ve been here way longer than necessary. There’s absolutely no excuse for this kind of treatment. No price is worth coming here. I’m so tempted to just walk out of here but I’m sure I’d be mailed a bill. This place is a scam. Don’t come here and don’t waste your time.

Was able to go in as a walk in two days ago and was seen for an eye exam Immediately, the staff were very helpful and kind in assisting me with making my first glasses purchase on my own, and they had the pair I chose ready to go with my new prescription lenses within 20 Minutes of picking them out! I've been getting so many compliments on my glasses, they have a huge selection to try on in store, fitting for many budgets. Was an easy and pleasant experience and I couldn't recommend them enough honestly.

This is hands down the worst office I have ever been into. The appointment was made under the impression that you will be getting an exam and 2 pairs of glasses for $59.00. This was WRONG. They told me it would be $45 for the exam and then the 45 will go towards the frames once you pick them out. Okay no big deal, fastforward to the exam, the lady could NOT get the mirror adjusted correctly to save her life so that I could see the screen behind me. Once it was finally adjusted and I was waiting on the doctor, there was no doctor. There was a screen beside the mirror where the "doctor" was on Skype. After this I knew nothing was going to be right. So as I'm sitting there with an electronic Doctor, his connection kept cutting out. About 5 minutes of me sitting there with nothing, the lady finally came back in asking if everything was okay I tell her no and i'd like to leave. I didnt schedule another appointment and after about 20 minutes on the phone with customer service they said that I should be receiving my Refund in 3-5 Business days. Never in my life have I ever been to a Doctors office where it is a Skype call, I understand that everything is moving forward with technology, but this "doctor" never asked me any questions about how I am feeling or what was going on. I will never be back and I can personally say that I have friends who have been and had different bad experiences.

I would have rated five stars but I am actually a little shocked at the odd audacity of the staff. Originally, I had a pretty frustrating experience. My glasses were broken in a slightly traumatic manner and I was in desperate need for a new pair and was told I could get same-day frames/lenses through Stanton. The exam went great, the staff were helpful and tried to help me stay in my budget, but then I was told due to my prescription my glasses would take two weeks. Admittedly, I was brought to tears because of the sheer panic of not being able to do schoolwork with finals around the corner. I was then told that they could rush it to a week. Then I was told three days. They were able to match my old lenses with some frames and loaned me those until my glasses could be picked up. Less than two hours later I received a call that my glasses were done. How it went from being 2 weeks time to 2 hours is beyond me. The staff then offered to give me the loaned frames on the house for my trouble, something that I was amazed by as it was a very kind gesture. They said that they would put my new script in the loaned frames and call me when they were done. A week passed and I got the call that the frames were ready. I showed up to the store only to be told that "something went wrong" and the frames weren't available but not to worry, because they "picked something out for me" something that made my stomach drop. The frames they picked out for me are... awful. While I would like to be very grateful as they were free... I actually cried when I wore them. I was hoping to have a nice backup pair if anything were ever to happen to the lenses I picked - but this feels like a form of punishment. I thought maybe I was being ridiculous, as I am known for being picky, but all of my family members and friends that I have shown have agreed that these frames are awful. So thanks but.. no thanks. There should have been some additional steps taken to avoid this mishap. (Honestly who picks out glasses for a stranger? Its hard enough picking out glasses for yourself)

What isn’t wrong with this business, shouldn’t be allowed to run in Anchorage. We had eye exam for husband to get contacts since on new work schedule and couldn’t get into real eye doctor. What a joke this place is couldn’t even write prescription for contacts correctly after 4-attempts. The contacts prescribed about destroyed his corneas due to incorrect fit and wrong brand prescribed by their computer doctor in fairyland. They tell us have to wait on pretend doctor not for just hours but days. I feel sorry for employees and manager, since they have no idea of how to run a business just pose as so-called eye specialists for glasses. It is apparent none of them care about their customers, its all about just making a sale.

There was a young man there who was also very professional and made me feel very welcome. More places of business should have such nice courteous people. Brittney and young man whom I did not get his name are two very great workers. Bless them both! I don’t know who was working the day the disgruntled customer who wrote the bad review was, but it definitely was not Brittney or the young man on duty the day I made my visit!

Customers service was horrible. We've been waiting for help with glasses and no one came to help. I had to approach them for assistance. Like, hello we're the patient here, why do we have to approach for assistance? This was our first time there. We didn't know where to go or what price was for which glasses. At the end, we got our glasses and Our glasses had to be order in. They said they'll call us when it arrive. THEY NEVER CALL US. We went in on a Saturday for everything. The glasses were READY on Sunday . Again, they never called us. I called them to check on our glasses status on Wednesday. And yes it was ready. Its was READY FOR PICK SINCE Sunday. Literally the day after we did our exam and chose our glasse . It's their job to call their patients and let them know when glasses are in. Ofcourse it's my was my glasses and I'm worried. If I haven't called we wouldn't have gotten our glasses. Oh when I went to pick up the glasses, they weren't even busy. Just 3 ladies worker behind the counter on their phone and chatting with each other. I just dont get why they didn't call us On Sunday when it was ready. This is not busy. Like seriously. I will not recommend this location to anyone.

This company is a joke when it comes to professionalism and customer service. This location in particular (Anchorage location on 8300 Homer Dr.) smells of mold and mildew immediately upon walking in, then the cigarettes and body odor hit you. The floor is dirty the chairs aren’t clean and all the lenses and frames appear to have never been cleaned. There are smudges and grime on every single pair. While I was there I went to use the restroom and it was disgusting, the floor had toilet paper everywhere and there were feces all over the toilet. I was also never informed that there is no physical doctor, and that I’d be speaking to someone on a television screen, seemed like a joke. I made it very clear that my prescription was exactly how I wanted it and that my vision was 20/20, that it was the connection from my eye to my brain that was the issue so nothing had changed in regards to my prescription. The previous doctor that had made the prescription used state of the art technology including 3D scanning of my eyes and it was calculated to be exactly what I needed. I was told that wouldn’t be a problem, and I proceeded. Once the exam was done not only was my prescription different but the price was much more that I was expecting due to their very cheap prices online. They couldn’t really explain anything, but once I said I didn’t want to move forward (pay) they said they could contact the doctor they had sent it to in Florida and get it changed but it would be over an hour so they took my email down on a scrap notebook on the table with a bunch of other writing on it, and I left. I responded to a survey I received in my email and let them know the conditions, and that I still hadn’t received my prescription (on 10/22/18 now two days since the visit) and I was unable to get my glasses elsewhere time frame I needed. On 10/23 I emailed asking if I was going to get a response to my issue and that at this point I wanted my money back. It wasn’t until 10/24 that the rep Jorge online said he needed my availability to call and speak about the issue (never mentioning a refund couldn’t be done). I let him know the time when I got off work and I heard nothing. On the 10/29 I sent another email letting them know that this was unacceptable and asked if I was ever going to receive a call (this whole time the actual location hasn’t contacted me once either). On 11/2 Jorge responded that they couldn’t do refunds and I COULD CALL THE LOCATION AND REQUEST MY PRESCTIPTION MYSELF, not acknowledging anything that had happened, or explaining why he hadn't called. This company is underhanded and unprofessional, STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!!!

Worst experience ever! Save yourself time, money and anguish. So unprofessional. All they care about is taking your money. You don't even get to see a Doctor in person. He is on a tv screen talking to you. I went 600 miles on a plane from where I remotely live to go see these quacks! I was there Feb 4th. Went there because AARP suggested to me. Time to write them a letter as well and tell them to stop recomending Stanton. MY GLASSES ARE BOUGHT AND PAID FOR AND I CANT GET THEM! Thought the deal was great, and the glasses would be quick and easy. Took my exam, and had 2 pair of glasses made for $300. The prescription in my left eye was so far off that I could see better without the lens. They told me it would be a transitional period, and my eyes would adjust. Demanded another exam. Got it. The first prescription spherical was off by .5 and the cylinder was off by .25. Six hours after I walked in, I walked out with two eyeglasses, two conflicting prescriptions, and a bad taste in my mouth. Update: In rural alaska with no intact eyeglasses at the moment. Called to have my prescription sent to me. Was put on hold for half an hour, then hung up on. Called back three times, but with no pickup. Finally was able to speak to a hurried employee, whom said she would email my prescription to me. Two hours later I called back and stayed on the line till my script was sent out.

This was the best experience I’ve ever had getting glasses! I live in Valdez, AK which is a 5 hour drive from Anchorage. I’m originally from Portland, OR but have lived in Alaska for 5 years. I was overdue for contacts and an exam so I drove to Anchorage as we do not have an optometrist in Valdez. Mackenzie helped me throughout the whole process and she was such a wonderful person to work with and I felt an instant connection with her! She was actually SO wonderful that my boyfriend AND my best friend got new glasses as well! (We drove up together to get supplies for our business and new glasses were not even on their radar) all 3 of us - with Mackenzies help - picked such awesome frames and we were all able to pick them up same day. Wife I stoped in on grand opening. Deal was free exam buy one pair glasses get second for free. We opted out of exam we new what we needed. Picked out two pair lenses most expensive pair being 125 dollars...so that should have been total correct? I had scheduled an eye exam at a local competitor on Saturday July 14th in Mobile Alabama (40 miles from where I live). I work during the week and Saturday's are the only day that I have for Dr appointments, so Mobile was the closest location with an office that offers Saturday appointments. When I got to the office I checked in and they took me right back for my exam. At this time they notified me that the Dr on duty only accepts cash. I did not have enough cash on hand, so they told me that I could use the ATM in the store to get out money. Needless to say I promptly left since they did not think that it was important to make me aware of this prior to me driving an hour from home for an exam. I did a quick search and found Stanton Optical just 5 miles from where I was. I called them and they told me that they could get me right in for an exam. All of the staff were very courteous and very helpful. Dr Nguyen did a complete exam and was very informative about the problems he noted on my eye exam and the recommendations for contact lenses and proper lens care. The Sales Manager, Johnathan Dennis was extremely helpful and spent time helping me pick out new eyeglasses and sunglasses. He helped me to figure out the best option to fit my needs and helped me get the most for my money with the current promotions they had to offer. He was very polite and explained the rebate information and warranty information very completely. I felt like I was the only person that they had to care for at that time, and the customer service left me feeling very important and completely satisfied. I will be making the extra trip to this great establishment from now on for all of my eye care needs. It seems to be so rare to find someone that will actually listen to your needs and meet them while exceeding the highest expectations.

And the old dude said it was my fault the prescription wasn't right. 3 weeks ago today a second trial pair was ordered, which either haven't arrived, or they got "lost" in the store like the first pair did. They charged my insurance company over $ 600. Plus, and then I paid almost $200. And they said my glasses would be ready by the twelfth so I went there on the 13th not ready, called on the 15th still not ready, and still sitting in the same position they was in on the 13th. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!!! And if they aren't ready by this Friday I am notifying the Better Business Bureau, And if they aren't ready by the next week I'm contacting an attorney and file a complaint with my insurance company so they will take them off the list!!! I visited Stanton Optical on Thursday 24, 2015 and was completely disappointed. The first staff person that did my screening was very nice and professional. It was down hill from there. It appears there is not a steady doctor at the store nor a supervisor. I first witnessed a staff member Olivia be rude to an elderly customer who was asking about their services. I have not had a good experience and won’t be returning! The glasses cost significantly more than advertised and it has been a huge hassle to get them picked up. Initially I was told to just wait for them to make my glasses in store after my appointment. After waiting about half and hour and went back in to see how the progress was, and the staff member was like oh sorry we don’t have your lenses we will have to order them. They never let me know that so I could have stayed their waiting for hours. They were supposed to call when my glasses were ready. It’s been over a week and I just took the initiate to call just to find out they’ve been ready for days but no one notified me.
