I love my doctors here. Everyone really cares and listens and explains things so well. There has been construction and road work going on there forever, so drivers need to proceed slowly and carefully. Really fun gift shop, too! Medicare is cheerfully taken.

I had a great experience with all the staff of pacific medical center. From the nurses to the anesthesiologist, everyone made me feel safe and relaxed. The equipment was all state of the art and the rooms were clean and accommodating. I was well taken care of and I will always appreciate that.

Hi my name is James. I was at froedtert hospital today. And it was the worst visit I have ever experienced. I waited for hours I mean at least 5. I was taken there by ambulance and was told it won't be long before I go to the back. Well I never made it to the back. I was given the run around the whole time I was there. I lost feeling in my legs and I guess that's not important to them. And I was not a priority. So I left. And I know someone from this place is going to respond so please do. Because I have a lot more to say. And I still have not seen a Dr yet.

Birthing Center is top notch. Nurses actually care, and it makes all the difference. Can't say enough about Joanna and the whole birthing center experience there. Doesn't get any better than what Froedtert provides, in terms of quality and care

I will never forget the name Rachel

The staff were like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off, running around without a clue of what they are doing. Got told 3 different things and they weren’t even busy. If you can’t handle 4 patients in the waiting room then you shouldn’t be working !! Will never go here again, I’m pretty sure a child could do a better job!

2 kidney surgeries, 1 hernia repair and the greatest, kindest most professional care I could possibly have hoped for. Thanks Doc Langenstrorer and staff in the Life Center. You ARE the best!!!

One of the worst hospitals when it comes to accommodate patients billing requests. They charge hospital charges which is ridiculous and I would think very unethical practice. Hospital charges are charged even if there was no service provided. The good part are the doctors. Very experienced and humble. They attend to patients questions and concerns very nicely.

My dad has been undergoing Chemo at Froedtert for several months now. Overall I'd say it has been a relatively positive patient experience so far, but recently they've made some seriously stingy decisions that really make me question how much they care. When my dad started with Chemo, they used to make snacks available such as a cookie or a small sandwich. A few months ago, they stopped this as a cost cutting measure. The nurse explained that they would have mothers come in for Chemo who brought along their young children, sometimes two or even three children. These mothers had the audacity to ask for a snack for their children while they sat for hours undergoing chemo. Apparently this was costing far too much money for the hospital to spare, so they had to stop providing access to anything but water, even for the patients paying tens of thousands of dollars for Chemo in an effort to save/extend their life. In no way am I trying to equate snacks with quality of care, but the cost cutting begs a few worrisome questions. How hard is Froedtert struggling financially that they need to save what must cost them a few hundred dollars a week when their revenue is in the billions annually? How soulless do you have to be as an exec to deny incredibly small (but meaningful) gestures of empathy to patients/family members in order to save a few dollars? And if they're grasping at cost cutting measures such as eliminating cookies for chemo patients, what other corners are they taking? Even a car wash can afford to include a cookie. If you're going to charge an insurance company a $100 for administrating a tylenol, at least spend part of the profit pretending the company cares about patients treatment experience.

Absolute state of the art doctors and medical facilities. The problem lies in their billing. We delivered a healthy boy, thanks to the faculty at Froedtert and Children's. The nightmare began when we began with the bills. We received bill after bill after bill, not one bill, but many. We entered into a payment arrangement with them to manage them all. After entering into this arrangement, we got more bills, as if they didn't know we'd had this arrangement. I figured they would figure it out and that it was a mistake on their end. No, they have different account numbers for each bill, so you need a payment arrangement for EACH bill! So, long story short, I didn't realize they didn't know until we got notice they were going to sue us in local courts for a $500 amount, which I paid over the phone, while thousands more were being paid back in this payment arrangement. No warning that they were that stupid. If you're going to deal with them, realize they have world class medical care that is being run with the management skills of the toddler they helped keep alive. Thanks Froedtert! :( Update: They have sent 3 additional bills to collections for a total of $200, which again, I paid immediately, but had previously had no idea they existed. It would seem they should rather NOTIFY people of these, by mail or phone, prior to sending them to collections and settling for pennies on the dollar while affecting their client's credit... But they don't. Their billing department is beyond repair.

Er doctor was unable to remove glass from my foot, hospital still charged me thousands of dollars. Plus I had to pay another dr to take the glass out, I won’t choose to go to this faucility again I’m questioning there dr skills. A dentist ended up removing the glass.

My sister was in need to see a doctor for something major. My sister, mom, I have been sitting for over 4 hours while ppl after her when back before her. They keep telling us that we were next only for another hour to pass without her being seen. They clearly could see the pain she was in and her vitals were getting worse just by sitting there. We drove 30 mintues thinking this hospital would be better after her having to wait over 4 weeks to even make an appointment. Wisconsin hospitals suck and this one has been the worst hospital experience i have EVER had.

The medical records dept is INEPT and completely clueless when it comes to actually sending the correct records. My doctor's office needed the MRI scans I had here and they were sent some junk PDF files that had nothing to do with the MRI. So I manually requested the scans myself making it clear on the form and they (again) sent some junk PDF files nothing to do with the MRI images! I spoke to so many people including some supervisors and finally they made me a disc then sent it to the WRONG address (gave them my new address 10 times) AND the CD arrived broken (unreadable). Called yet again! Update: First they wrote down my phone number wrong (You can blame Bernice for being stupid that way), then I spoke with Sonya (supervisor) who promised me my CD FEDEX overnight... didn't happen.. no CD. LIARS LIARS LIARS who will all burn in hell!

This was my first time at this facility. My mother is a resident there in Milwaukee and she had to undergo a procedure this past Wednesday which like normal made me extremely nervous..Well I found myself walking aimlessly through the hospital and realized I had no idea where I was going or how to get back to my vehicle to retrieve some extremely time sensitive documents that needed to be completed. Well after walking in circles for quite some time and attempting to stop serveral employees only to be told they didn’t know and not even trying to direct me to someone who could assist. A gentleman name Ben B. who works in the Transport department, could clearly could see the panic in my face. when I asked him how to get to parking lot B he went above and beyond to not only give me the directions but walk me there just to make sure I got to where I needed to be without any problems. He apologized about my experience and even asked me how my day was. He was able to quickly turn my experience from the biggest nightmare to one I’ll never forget. He definitely went above and beyond his call of duty and really made this a truly memorable experience. This is what you call excellent customer service! Thanks Ben B.

Having everything I need at one location is appreciated.

If I could rate it zero stars I would

Chelsey Saari

Initially gave one star- was in active labor and was sent home due to understaffing. Came back in the morning and I was progressing quickly and in need of pain management being 7 cm dilated already. The reason I changed my rating was the nurses who helped deliver and with my after care were sweet, calm and caring. Only one or two miscommunications, they were truly fantastic. Changed everything once we were admitted and being cared for through labor and after care.

Sandy Hummer

Excellent care. Compassionate staff with competent clinical skills!

Just try and complain about a halfwit doctor. You will get the runaround and brushoff. They do not like complaints. / 26 June 2017 Thanks for the contact link David, it was so helpful . See people, they do not want to hear complaints, they just try and placate you, they solve no problems or complaints. You're much better off at West Allis Memorial Hospital or Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

I chose to have my first child at children’s here and now after my experience I will not be coming back. I have had a wonderful OB through this pregnancy and have complications and have been high risk. My OB made me confident that I chose the right hospital for delivery and now after my first born I will not be coming back with any pregnancy. I was planned to be induced tonight at 10pm due to complications with my pregnancy. My OB called to ensure everything would be set and okay and ready for me and I was told it was. I get a call 30 minutes on my way to the hospital from a woman in labor and delivery telling me they have no room for me. You’re a huge hospital. It’s completely unprofessional to set something up and last second call while I’m in the car coming from over a half an hour away to tell me to go home and call when I wake up and maybe it’ll be ready. I’m being induced for concerns with gestational hypertension and polyhydramnios. After this delivery I’m done with coming here. Hopefully by morning I’m not going to be told once again I can’t come in. Best part is this is not the first time I’ve had problems. I’ve had nurses not be comforting or helpful. FYI being a first time mom high risk for preeclampsia and then to end up with other conditions leading to me being induced and being told by nurses on the phone all my concerns were “normal part of pregnancy” well It all ended up not being normal. Again. My OB was wonderful and I’d suggest her. Very caring. Very professional and extremely helpful and understanding. But as for labor and delivery this will be my first and last child being delivered at the children’s location. Like I said hopefully I’m not told a second time I can’t be induced.

Terrible billing practices. I received a bill from 3 different companies for one procedure referred through froedtert. I just received 2 bills for one account and even though I set up a payment plan and make my payments on time every month I am getting "final notices" and threatened with collections. As someone who has anxiety this is extremely stressful and disturbing. I will be calling the BBB. Save yourself the stress and choose a different provider.

Arthur McKendry

Excellent GP and Specialist on site. Very nice facilities and easy to get around in spite of some major construction going on.

Im very upset i have alot of medical problems and i woke up in pain i couldnt move well i called my doctor they told me to go to the hospital do i went i was treated like a complete drug addict they sent me home in pain didnt address my pain at all.

They never answer your calls you leave message all day long and no return call back.

They give very in depth guidance to my local oncologists on front line oncological techniques from the beginning of Froedtert being in charge of my treatments. I actually receive most of my care through Green Bay Oncology in a branch in Escanaba, Mi. I have learned to think highly of them throughout my care as well as Freodtert. Green Bay Oncology in Escanaba has very heartfelt doctors especially Dr. Ryan, and NP Darcy Ghetzloff. The Docs and nurses there make sure you are always comfortable for treatment, and they base they're treatment to the tee by Freodtert's direction. Before I was diagnosed by Green Bay, I thought I was just having back pain problems from my career as a truck driver. After seeing my family practitioner and giving a little time off to heal I happened to have my oncology checkup during my time off(just lucky it worked out that way). I had this checkup because it was a routine after I had bone cancer (Ewing's Sarcoma) while I was 12-13 that had been free and clear since 2000 because of the care from Green Bay Oncology back then, and throughout the last nearly two decades. My new oncology visit had evaluated that I was having issues in my SI Joint, possibly caused by the radiation from my radiation therapy in 2000. They set me up with physical therapy specialists who work with oncology patients on a regular basis. After two weeks of PT it seemed my pain issues had gotten worse, so GB oncology sent me for xrax and a CT of the areas surrounding my pain issues. They found some abnormal tissue that needed to be biopsied. After biopsy they had found that I have a tumor in the upper left quadrant of my sacrum (the base of your spine just above the tailbone), and also a few small 4-5mm spots in my lungs. The tests came back from the biopsy and showed that I have a general Sarcoma of the bone tissue that had metastasized to surrounding soft tissue, and into my lungs. It was quite devistating news for my wife and I, GB oncology set me up for a series of in home phone calls during this process so that I could speak to a guidance councilor to help ease my stress through the process of finding out, and while planning my treatment plan. I know there's a lot here on GB, but there's a lot about Freodtert's care to come up here shortly. So after all of the information came back to my oncologists they organized a "Tumor Board" of their best oncologists to determine my best route for care. They decided that it was up to me on what I wanted to do. I could go to Mayo Clinic, or Freodtert hospital. I had never heard of Freodtert hospital, but they highly suggested that they are the best for my particular situation. So wet went down for our first appointment at Freodtert to see with three oncological specialists. The team I would see was chemo oncologist Dr. Charleston, Oncological surgeon Dr. King, and a radiation treatment oncologist that ended up not being part of my treatment plan. I was extremely happy with the chemo regimen that they'd come up with. The tactic, reduce my sacral tumor size so that they could do an ablation (chemical freezing) of the tumor and a nerve that was causing me excruciating pain that couldn't be controlled by ANY pain meds we tried. It was only at one point controlled by having an epidural! Then also putting for screws in my sacrum that had fractures in three places from the tumor expanding my bone before I was able to start treatment. After the surgeries at Freodtert, week by week my pain reduced. Now two months out from that, with the help of PT and an ankle brace, my worst pain days are very low pain, and I've started a new therapy since I've completed my chemotherapy treatment. It stops my tumors from creating new capillaries, so it effectively stops tumor growth by starving Only the tumor! I would write so much more of I could, running out of characters. Freodtert always made be feel comfortable before doing anything, and if you ever have to stay in for any reason, their care teams are amazing. Thank you All!

Don’t get me wrong, the care and treatment I received at Froedtert was great. It’s been what has ensued after that has made me leave this rating. I recently went for an EEG because I was experiencing seizure like symptoms. Not full blown grand mal seizures that people usually associate with seizures, but partial seizures which are very minor and more of an annoyance than a life altering condition. Because of these symptoms, my primary care doctor (not at Froedtert) decided to suspend my drivers license until I received medication for my seizures. Wisconsin has a 90 day suspension rule for people with seizures, and mine were happening almost daily. I went to Froedtert, and one of the doctors (Dr Chris Anderson) told me that the 90 day rule wouldn’t apply to me because I don’t lose consciousness and I have control in my body to correct my driving. Exited by this news, I scheduled an appointment with my primary care doctor to sign paper work to reinstate my drivers license. When I got there, the doctor from Froedtert had left no note saying I would be eligible for a license effective immediately. My primary care doctor refused to sign the paperwork and instead told me to call Dr Anderson/Froedtert to get the situation figured out. Once I called, I was told that Dr Anderson wouldn’t be able to sign any paperwork, because I was not a patient of his. He oversaw my EEG, but apparently that was not enough. So now I’m stuck with no drivers license, and a primary care doctor who’s unwilling to sign because a doctor at Froedtert didn’t put a note in saying he believed it was ok for me to drive.

StillHaving Problems

Use to be the best but these past three years have proven otherwise. 1. If you go to the hospital for dehydration good luck getting help with that. Multiple times I went in for just that. They say they'll get you water an IV. What a rare event that is. I was better off at home trying to drink fluids while attempting to not pass out. 2. The ER is highly mismanage and some of the people are flat out rude. 3. Several years ago young woman who will remain nameless called the hospital because she was with out her anti-depressants and had many concerning symptoms. A heartless woman on the the phone ask why she might be having these symptoms. The patient said simply I don't have my pills this might be why. She had chest pains, & a hard time breathing. She wasn't sure if it was stress or her other medical conditions. The woman on the phone continue to yell at her saying I can't get your pills. The patient said multiple times I know you keep asking me why I might have these symptoms and I'm just telling you why I might have them. What a kind of human being would not give damn or listen to such a situation? If that patient had killed herself due to that woman's unprofessional behavior you would best believe action would of been taking place. 4. Lastly this hospital does not take ownership of their actions. They are quick to blame doctors and nurses that have nothing to do with anything. They will fire a good doctor or nurse to keep their good name. The only problem is they don't seem to have much of one anymore. Wisconsin must invest in better healthcare some shape way or form. The hospital care has greatly decline and there has to be a way to stop this. With that said most of their specialist doctors are decent however I say not all of them meet high standards.

Emergency room, resident, "doctor", Adam Haggerty, was extremely unprofessional and lacked patient compassion. He should really find another career. We drove all the way to Froedtert expecting to get 5 star care and this guy just made it a complete nightmare. He was very judgmental of past history and kept asking the same questions repeatedly, which had nothing to do with why I was even at the emergency room. Hopefully someday when he needs medical attention he gets the same kind of care he gives.

Taylor Whitney

I went for an ear check up. They cleaned my ear and I was in and out in 15 minutes. Then I received a $900 bill. If you like being robbed, see a Froedtert doctor.

Lily S

They gave my mom the most excellent care. The nurses were so nice and they even gave me a hug. Incredibly sweet people here. I can't say enough. Dr. Hettinger is the best!

Lisa Krueger

I am only rating a 1because a 0 is not a choice. I took my husband to the EDTC March 22, the ED doc did NOTHING! Told him it was a muscle spasm today March 25 he is still in excruciating pain, and can barely function- I now have to return to them ED - NOT FROEDTERT - to hopefully get some help for him. Neck pain and they did not even offer a soft collar, very poor practice shame on this doc; my rating for you on a graded scale F- -

There are good medical professionals there. They are burried behind a mountain of bureaucracy. If you are there for primary care at the Sargent Building and require even a simple xray you will need to go to a different building. It's like a factory and getting you out the door is the priority. If you do get an appointment with a specialist you may not see them. Especially in the dermatology and gastroentrology clinics. You may have decided to drive from Appleton to Milwaukee to see a world class specialist, surprise! It was more "cost effective" for you to see someone else . You will also hear the term "Academic Medical Center" This phrase is often used to explain away inefficiencies and cade not focused on the paitent

Alex Zazra

Good secretaries. Calls are quick and to the point and information is found immediately. If you have a loved one here and want to check up on them, it is incredibly easy to do so.

Ted Jordan

Every appointment has been excellent. They take good care of me here

Allen De Keyser

Best hospital best service fast service unlike most hospitals great doctors, everyone was very thourough and very helpful, and very polite. Thank you guys very much for all the help you have given I will recommend to anyone that needs medical attention.

WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN AN ER. I came in for a back injury and severe pain shooting down my leg and numb tingling in my arm. 8/10 for pain. They gave me what was equivalent to an icy hot patch and didnt even look at my back before deciding to send me home. My and my husband were in that ER for 5 hours! Only saw a nurse once. And the doctor said oh nothing to worry about. I've been writhing in pain for a week and finally decided to get checked out. I would have been better off at home.... GO TO WEST ALLIS HOSPITAL. Amazing every single time! Dont waste your time...

Dee M

Not happy that I had to wait outside the hospital because I had two minors. I went to visit a family member after 8pm with two children and I couldnt go in to visit. I had to wait outside with the kids. The guard stated that this is the policy, but when I checked the policy it states that kids under 18 couldnt go into the room. It doesnt state that kids cant wait in the lobby. I was not happy that I had to wait outside the hospital. It was not hospitality.

Gabby Leachmon

Update 5/21/19: I don’t understand the point of someone contacting me if the person is telling there is nothing can be done because Froedtert has horrific practices and wants their patients in hospital debt. Lynn C. is supposedly a manager told me that there are records and phone calls of the hospital trying to contact me but I when ask for those documentations, she said she can’t give it to me. I love how she can pull up all kinds of things but when I asked months ago to send me statements and such to another representative, oh there’s nothing there. I am so done and frustrated with this group personally. Old Review: First I would like to say that the billing department is just ridiculously and how they said so many different statements from 3 groups within the company and did not combine them from the beginning. I now have a bill that was sent to collections and nothing can be done apparently but the hospital can take what I already paid for and my insurance money for horrible service. I never had nothing sent to collections before and this is ridiculous! The services are subpar at best and unfortunately I can’t switch my insurance which is cater only to the Froedtert group till next year. Next year, I will not go back to Froedtert.

Dawn Condon

If you have any kind of immediate health issue, DON'T GO TO FROEDTERT EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT !!!!!! They dont have the staff or the intelligence to treat you in any kind of emergency situation. Upon arrival, your body and property is searched and then you walk though a metal detector (Doesn't matter if you are screaming or crying in pain, you still are searched). Then you get checked in only to be told that you have to wait 8 hours to be taken in the back. Once you are in back, it takes another 30 to 45 minutes for a nurse and doctor to start treating you. I went to the Emergency department after I had surgery done because they didnt prescribe me any pain medicine.i was in 8/10 pain scale, I call the clinic first to see if they would prescribe me anything, nope, I had to waste more insurance money and my time in misery to go to an Emergency Department that wouldn't fix their own hospitals mistake . You dont get sliced open and something shoved into your body without being in pain, Have some damn compassion FROEDTERT instead of worrying about your pocketbook!!!

Nancy Bose

I'm paying on a bill froedtert Hospital, I paying monthly. This month paid on the 15 posted on the 17th. Received a call from the billing office asked are you going to pay this month! She then told me that they have no record of it! Told her when I paid it and had a conformation # also. It didn't matter to her, she told me I needed to get a copy of the bank statement. Not happy I got a copy of it. Then went to the West Bend Clinic they were nice about. She fax the paper over to billing told them to call when it was cleared up still no call! Never been late on a payment yet. Can someone answer this question why doesn't froedtert accept care credit??

Becky Hoftiezer

This is the only hospital in my area that treats my genetic condition, but I utterly hate it every time I'm forced to be treated inpatient here. Hospital policy means that all of my medication must be locked away and only administered by a nurse. I'm a type 1 diabetic, so at home I have access to my own insulin and glucose tablets as needed. There are not enough nurses on staff to have one dedicated to giving me my medication in a timely manner, so mostly I spend my days here not eating. It's infantilizing and actively bad for my health. Also the food sucks anyway, so I typically lose 5-10 pounds every time I'm here despite already being underweight.

Eh Regit

their CFO’s kid is a really nice person so that means this hospital must be something.

KIARA FELICIANO

My mami works there. Edith Nieves!

Edward Ronzoni

This is the worst, most backwoods hospital ever. Drive another 5 miles and find someplace else to go. The equipment is shoddy at best. They can't put in or properly tape an IV. And they'll lie to you and keep telling you that meds are coming that have never been ordered. I seriously considered just walking out. Registration nurse wouldn't tell me where the bathroom was when I came in.

Zakkiyya Salahadyn

This particular visit I was disappointed in the level of compassion care and concern for an individual who suffers from the disease of addiction. I was present for support and I believe the stigma attached to addiction impeded proper medical care. You don't send a person home without working out a plan or adequate solution. Alternatives to medication should always be proffered to a patient as well as an expression of empathy. "I'm sorry you feel this way" is not a solution or even sincere. Why are you sorry? We asked questions about holistic approaches. How do you recommend an alternative method of treatment that you refuse to not prescribe. Individuals with income limitations should not be driven to buy treatment alternatives when there is an affordable care alternative that is conducive to recovery.

Amy Steinberger

They saved my life!!! Moved fast in the ED got me to my room, the nurse was wonderful. It was shift time my new nurse notice my heart was increasing but my BP was declining. Moved me to ICU where they knew what to do and fast. I called Aurora where I was for over 20 years with my disease and for weeks I called daily sometimes more often and was told to deal with it. All I asked for was a ct scan, ultrasound, xray, or an MRI they would not do it. One more day Froderdt said I would not be here. Great GI dept. Surgical team, all in all the hospital is the place you want to be. They ALL listen. it

Shoua Yang

Very kind and respectful staff. However, policies are outrageous. I gave birth to my 2nd baby. My only support system was my husband and 2 yo. No family nearby, so just us. However, the hospital refused to allow my 2 yo to stay past 8 PM. Thus, my husband and 2 yo had to go home, leaving me by myself. The newborn and myself were forced to stay 2 nights. It was tough, emotionally and physically, being separated from my only support system. Froedtert needs to change their guess policy!!!

I've had two negative experiences here. Went for a yearly checkup after I moved to Wisconsin so I could establish a doctor to go to. The "yearly checkup" consisted of the doctor coming in and asking how I was. I said overall great and the doctor then left. I was like ??? umm blood test and other tests to make sure?? The doctor responded with telling me "we don't do those here unless they are medically required." In the 24 pervious years of my life they have been standard at yearly checkups. I guess froedtert doesn't follow the same practice as every other doctor I've gone to in my life. The second time I went was at their dermatologist office. I had a few warts that needed to be frozen off and had a few other questions for the doctor. Long story short, I never got to see a doctor, only a student, even after requesting to talk to a doctor so my questions never got answered. When it came to freezing the warts off it seemed like the guy had never done it before and there was no supervision. 7 of my fingers all blew up the following day with massive blisters because he used way too much nitrogen. I've had this done dozens of times before and this is the only time I've ever regretted having then froze off. Called to give a status update and to let the student know what happened so he could correct the actions so it doesn't happen in the future (he told me to give feedback since he was a student). Since I was calling with constructive criticism instead of a fantastic 5 star review, the lady I spoke to at the desk pretty much told me to file a complaint. I'm like huh? no I'm giving follow up feedback for the student, not trying to file a complaint. He's learning, it's fine, want to help him in the future. She responded with "we don't do that here" and hung up on me.... cool...cool...looks like he'll make the same mistake over and over and over again then. Great job helping your students improve. Fool me once, shame on you. You've now fooled me twice, froedtert, so you'll never be seeing me again.

They sent us the wrong Bill's so many time. We had to keep calling them to fix it about 5 dam times. Now that want us to pay the bill right away. Learn how to do your dam job or hire better people!

Ray Lane

Worst ever. Nothing but test after test. Spend next to nothing time with doctors. Doctor told me I want you to get better and not need any medication. So what do they do prescribed me 4 medications. Let's see all those tests 5 minutes with doctor adds up to tons of money. Huge bill. Refuses to work with you on a payment plan. Either pay what they want when you want it or diet sued and wages garnished. Go elsewhere unless you have to go here.

My wife and I went to visit her doctor under FAMILY PLANNING in JULY. The visit she had is supposed to be free and completely covered under family planning. Sometimes we get billed for things we don’t know about as this is a common theme amongst health care. We were new to family planning so this time we decided to be proactive about it by calling Froedtert 3 TIMES before we went in to make sure we would NOT receive a bill. We spoke to the people scheduling the appointment over the phone to ensure that it’s FREE, we spoke to the lady at the front desk of the office who told us we would NOT get billed for our visit, and we spoke to Froedtert’s billing and our own insurance to make sure we would NOT get billed. After the visit, we got billed almost $300. We are extremely saddened by this struggle as my wife really likes the doctors here. We have called MANY times after we received the bill and spoke to various people who were unable to give us answers. It is now January and instead of helping us figure out what went wrong, they sent us to COLLECTIONS for a free service under family planning. We are extremely flabbergasted, stressed, and furious. We feel that there is no hope amongst the billing/insurance department at Froedtert Hospital. If they are billing for family planning (a human right for families who do not make enough...my wife and I went back to school and work part-time) it worries me how they must bill for other services. It is now January and we now have private insurance however, we will not be returning to Froedtert Hospital because of what they have been putting us through. We feel that they do not seem to give an ounce of care to their patients who are actually trying to prevent these kinds of things from happening. It felt like we were doing their job for them at one point and we feel extremely cheated after all of our efforts. If you are someone worried about billing, this is not the place. There are other healthcare organizations that are more organized in this department. I did not want to write this review but I feel that it is necessary as nobody at Froedtert has been able to figure out the problem for months and have thrown us to collections after telling us several times that we would not be billed.

My Bestfriend & I Came To The ER At 11:30 At Night .. They Kept Reassessing People & Taking All Night To See Everybody .. People Were Leaving Because Of The Long Wait , & Most People Were Really In A Lot Of Pain.. We Didn’t Leave The ER Until 7am.. Their Service Is So Slow & They Don’t Have Any Consideration For Others People Time.. Other People Have Work Too! I’ll Never Visit Again..

Had a severe car accident last year. I got a flight for life up to Froedert. The doctors and nurses are top notch. 33 screws and 4 plates later they fixed me up. 1 year later everything is holding up well. I emailed them several times with questions over the past 6 months and always got a prompt response.

I've been to the er twice in a month for them to send me home hours later with no remedy for my pain. After following up with physician in specialty clinic whom suggested muscle relaxers (no remedy to pain), then days later admitted to hospital. After being in the hospital a week with "body scans", antibotics, narcotics, and nausea meds nothing found as cause of pain. Still urging to send me home with no remedy/ accurate treatment/ or even clear dignosis for a treatment plan. After giving all the pateince possible for a fair treatment opportunity I was told that maybe its a problem with anxiety. I see how so many of the locals are suffering medical issues. Everything is assumed as mental illness. Wisconsin as a whole is the worst experience I have ever had.

Sandy Natschke

Worst hospital experience I've ever had. Overcrowded. Terrible communication. Ridiculously long wait times because they are understaffed. Kick you out before you're ready because they need the room.

Getting a referral to go through to neuroscience is nearly impossible. It has been almost two weeks since you doctor first started trying to get me referred to Froedtert. My doctor had sent the referral request with my labs and medical records to Froedtert (all together) four different times over the course of a week and a half to the three different fax numbers they were given. My doctor was given a different fax number each time we asked if they got the fax that says it went through. After a total of a week and a half, Froedtert claims they only got the referral and are still waiting on the medical records to come through. My doctor sent the medical records again to all three fax numbers, including the on on the top of the fax sheet they got back, and Froedtert still claims they haven't received them. And I was told that if they do ever receive them they first have to get scanned in, then the doctors have to review them and then it will take another 48 hours for them to call me to set up my first appointment, if they decide they want to help me at all that is. Neuroscience division has the rudest receptionists and they apparently can't figure out what their fax number is, and either throws away faxes or never checks it. I don't get why I have to be in the middle passing messages between Froedtert and my doctor. Why can't they call and talk to each other directly and get this figured out? A referral should not take two weeks before that first call to the patient to set up an appointment.

Never shall we return! The nurse taking my really sick mothers vitals, rolls her eyes straight at my mom and says to her, ma’am there’s a lot of other ppl here in worse pain than you. And walked away. My mom was crying slightly because she was in pain. How dare this nurse insult her/us like that.

Kirk Cozzuli

Staff are friendly but waiting to eat broth after no food for 20 hours because certain staff have to go thru this channel and that one is unacceptable

Marlo Davis

Worse hospital in Wisconsin. Its a mule farm. You will be in this hospital for days to see a doctor. Seriously DAYS. An you will leave disappointed. An their doctors are just working for a check. Avoid this hospital.

gina marie

It's a wonderful feeling to know your loved one is being taken care of with compassion and knowledge. The hospital is clean and organized. The doctors work in teams and the nurses are patient and kind.

Alexander Schmidt

Amazing doctors here! All of the medical staff at Froedtert is very kind and makes sure you're on the right treatment plan. I would much rather take an hour long bus ride here than to Columbia St. Mary's.

BEWARE OF PATIENT RELATIONS DEPT whose policy is to protect Froedtert. Because the staff doctor in the ER refused to come near me during his so-called exam, later the PA explained that I should stay overnight to do a stress test on the treadmill the next morning as a convenience. Meanwhile, my heart assessment was very good and in fact did not necessitate an immediate stress test. However it was 10 p.m. or later and I wished not to disturb friends to come pick me up. I remained in an Observatory room in the ER overnight. At 8:50 a.m. I was taken to the area for the stress test. Once I arrived I found out that they intended to inject radioactive isotopes into my blood stream twice, one time before and another during the treadmill challenge. I was never told about this type of nuclear procedure. I found this exceedingly disturbing. (Please note that prior to taking the injection I explained to the technician that I am not comfortable with any form of drug especially directed into my veins.) At this time the tech should have explained to me that there was also the option of an echocardiogram. Instead she simply remarked that after 15 years of serving in the nuclear department no one has suffered from side effects. I explained in great detail that I have had serious venous problems in the past including but not limited to Von Willebrand. In fact I wear a medical alert bracelet because of this disorder. The PA failed to mention anything about radioactive isotopes as part of the procedure. I was therefore subjected to an irreversibly damaging treatment. Exposure to radiation may be a minor concern for doctors trained to administer it in spite of research substantiated by facts its deleterious effects. Further, no pricing was given upon any of my enquiries. How does one make an informed decision without essential information the hospital possesses but conceals from patients desirous to manage expenditure and appropriate care? Having taken the first round of the venous injections with this type of invasive approach, another gentleman was rolled into the prep area and was surprised to learn that injection would be administered. He said that he was accustomed to the Echo. In other words, he, too, was misinformed about the procedure prior to the actual execution. These are signals of egregious oversights when informing patients of what to expect. Patients generally are in compliant mode while under care trying to trust the healthcare system. Following the test I was told I needed to have another blood draw because they had diluted the first attempt at a draw making it unreadable. I requested no charge should be incurred due to their errors. The nurses and other staff members informed me that they must submit the charges according to electronic protocol. And another nurse missed a vein keeping the needle in my arm filling it with fluid so obvious yet never addressed until later when I finally brought to their attention my discomfort. A day later lesions mysteriously broke out all over my body. I took pictures to document side effects. When I went to see my Froedtert doctor and showed her the pictures of the sores and current ones she explained that she does not deal with this sort of matter. The Nuclear Dept. never asked to examine me even after I shared with them my symptoms. The doctor in that department sent me the ingredients, and it turns out that metal was part of the solution. In the past I react to metals. Had I known this in advance I could have avoided this ongoing issue. And don't be fooled by the Patient Relations veneer of caring for patients. Their job is to protect Froedtert. They dismissed my concerns without seeing me face to face or interested in observing first hand all the lesions on my body. My issues dismissed was closed and final.

Just an overall horrible experience... I’ve been to multiple locations and none of them have been quality treatment... you hear nurses talking outside your door “(to MD) I’m sorry but I accidentally put the needle in too far”...?! Physicians violating your privacy... Missing a brain bleed and sending you home...?! Staff is not very pleasant (at least what I’ve experienced)... I just wouldn’t go here... I normally wouldn’t post things like this - but for safety - I feel like I have to...

Came in at 1am with chest and and tongue pain. Told the triage nurse that I felt light headed with shortness of breath (after I patiently waited 4 hours and still wasn’t seen!) The triage nurse told me I didn’t meet the requirements to get brought back and i have to wait till my name is called. My whole face is swollen you would think since I’m telling them I’m having shortness of breath and it feels like my tongue is closing my throat I would be brought back. I guess I would have to die first before any care would be shown. REALLY HORRIBLE NONCHALANT STAFF

Dave M

Came to Froedtert due to a severe car accident and was treated immediately by highly skilled/knowledgeable doctors and nurses. Received the best attention and care I have ever had at a hospital, all in a timely, convenient, and friendly manor. I have nothing bad to say, except the building is hard to navigate. I will only attend/request Froedtert for any medical need in the future.

Marco C

Complete lack of communication with the family and the doctors!!! They pitch a team approach but it's far from any team I've ever seen. Patients are not notified of test results or given answers when asked. If you go you better have an advocate or you will be lost. If you ever have a major medical issue seek a second opinion your life could depend on it.

Carole Schefelker

Let's just say this has been an adventure. And not in a good way.

Lisa Bayer

I will never go back. Never heard of you take there payment plan or they will see you in court. I have doctor bills here that are happy to take 50.00 to 100.00 dollars a month. Not them..They should just be glad I'm willing to work with them and not file Bankruptcy,.

April Johnson

I found the staff to be very attentive, timely and also caring professionals that provided care and services to my Step Father. I like to extend my Thanks to the Oncology team, Triage Nurse that was contacted one night that had given directions with medical care needs. The Emergency room Staff for their prompt service given and the Advanced Care Unit staff that provided the care/ services to him as well as addressed my mother's questions and gave her information related to his medical care/ condition

Tawana Marshall

I have had nothing but kind, personable, friendly professional service since I first began going to Froedert Hospital and clinics in the early 90's. I have an awesome primary doctor, gynecologist team, breast cancer team and more all in convenient locations. Thanks for all that you do to keep these bodies on track.

Andi Leverenz

I had trouble getting in to see my primary doctor so went into Er/urgent care 3 seperate times. Each time no blood work was done no scans were done. Was pretty much told I was just there to get pain meds. Finally got to my doctor and was told i had a major bacterial infection which had spread. Two weeks in the hospital could have been prevented if froedert had just done a few simple blood tests or a ct scan.....

Pebbles Williams

Was told to go to the ER by my primary physician because of chest and neck pain along with numbness in my left arm. Never been so degraded!! I was given something for low potassium then a few minutes later was given some pain meds for the extreme chest pain. No information as to why I had a problem with my potassium or any othe symptoms nor was I given a consult on how I can avoid it!! Few minute later I was told “here is your discharge papers any questions.” I ask what could be wrong with me all to be told “if your condition is not life threatening then we cannot do anything for you but refer you to your primary care.” So unprofessional to the level of disrespect!! I could not even get my damn discharge paper work explained to me!!! My blood pressure was high and guess what I never knew until I got home and read it!! Was stated that I need to see someone for it. Wow right?? Do they not regulate blood pressures before they discharge? Oh I forgot it is not LIFE THREATENING!! The real question is “If it was high for any reason (due to pain as they say) why wasn’t I told??? I will never ever go here again voluntarily! Will be calling my insurance company to inform them of this type of unprofessional health care.

Bridget Donovan

Because I have had ongoing treatment at Froedtert, I am editing this review. I went to Froedtert after another health system let me drag on with C Diff. My GI saw me & admitted me on the first appt. I was in Froedtert 5 days, and ended up having to be readmitted when I had a recurrence six weeks later. The GI doctors were excellent, as were many nurses, and the hospital doctor, Dr. Cobb. She was outstanding. I wish I could say the same about Dr. Good, a hospital doctor. I was there recently for a procedure, and she noticed my arthritis, which is excruciating. I was nervous with the procedure a few hours away, and she told me that my hands were awful looking and looked 20 years older than I am. After stewing about it, I asked to talk to her, and asked if she thought that was an appropriate thing to say to a patient, or anyone for that matter. She told me “I had to admit they were rough looking” which made the situation worse. I pushed it, told her how I suffered with pain and how cruel that was, got an insincere apology, and she stormed out and never came back. Not appropriate for any medical professional. Billing is a continuing disaster. I received very inconsistent answers. I was left with a large balance after insurance. The 1st rep told me if I had more than $5000 I didn’t qualify for any assistance. I found out later from other reps that was not true, and two encouraged me to file for some assistance. I was waiting on that paperwork and that same first rep called the day before Thanksgiving, again telling me the incorrect information regarding the $5000 threshold, and demanding that I set up a payment plan. I was so frustrated I called back and asked for a supervisor who verified the $5000 was not correct and that any assistance is determined by a different department. In the end it appeared this was true. Over the course of a year I have spent dozens of hours submitting form after form, dozens of calls, only to be told they had everything, then they didn’t. I talked to the manager, Jake, and still didn’t get anywhere. The bizarre thing is that I would give up trying for assistance, then receive a call out of the blue not to give up, only to be waylaid again. During all this I received sometimes three bills a month, all for different amounts. I was threatened with collections when the payment wasn’t due. My charge card was charged the entire balance instead of the payment plan amount. I used to work in billing and this is so beyond inappropriate it’s crazy. In the end I didn’t get any financial assistance after all the encouragement to file. It’s frustrating to be told you will get help, and see multiple prisoners who clearly don’t have these worries. Edit again: It is Christmas Eve 2018, I have a statement, final notice, and notice of missed payments. Notice how they mail so it’s received and they can’t be called because of the holidays. Last week a rep called saying I was going to collections, and after blowing a gasket, she admitted to not looking and finding the payment. I called back, and a supervisor said she would speak with her. I don’t know if their billing dept is so stupid or trying to make you sick enough to end up being admitted again, but there has to be some sort of legal recourse, or state governing agency.

If I could leave a 0 rating I would. Was brought un by paramedics with chest pain and a high BP...was left in a waiting room. Was never put on a heart monitor after I got a room. Doc kept pushing that it was most likely heartburn. Um no...if it was, wouldn't the meds they had me take helped?. Needless to say they didn't. They treat patients like they are a burden and are bothersome. And now they will charge my insurance company a ton. DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANYTHING!!

Sir Chucky

Go elsewhere seriously. Save your sanity. The REVIEWS are SPOT on. Do a simple search and READ first. Went and found out myself first hand. Horrible experience. Please don't bother to reply David (automated). I've already called your HOTLINE only to get a longer run around. No thanks from me.

My husband suffered an extensive Pilon fracture due a fall from a ladder. With a torn saphenous vein as well, he could have lost his life. Twelve surgical procedures. There is NO other hospital in Wisconsin that could have offered the trauma specialists he needed and so quickly. Excellent nursing care was given. He has had a 98% recovery. The 2% is just due the fact that he cannot run now. As for the billing complaints I see in these reviews: Froedtert has revamped their billing recently. I felt some of the billing confusion was attributed to OUR health insurance company. Everything was clarified with time. Honestly, I think the billing from other facilities is worse from my past experiences. It has historically been an across the board issue with all major healthcare facilities. I see a vast improvement in the billing system now. Thank You Froedtert

Cliff Cordes

Dr Sonnenberg failed to diagnose an obvious case of gout and instead wasted time and money with x-rays that I did not need. She refused to provide any treatment and sent me away in pain to find a PCP. For the record, I have insurance, pay my bills, and was not seeking any pain medicine. Don't waste your money at their Emergency Room as they don't treat your illness.

Psycho Psyduck

Called at a desk to leave a message for my specialist 4 times until they finally answered and told me to tell my primary doctor. I'm pretty they never told the doctor. Also everytime I go to the ER within the pass three years I was suppose to get an IV (was told by nurses and doctors ) but never would get one. I would ask if I still was suppose to and they either wouldn't answer or they would be like "Yes hold on." Usually feel worse leaving then when I go in. The IV thing seems to be common at a lot of hospitals around here. I don't know what happened but the hospitals have gone down in this city and neighboring areas within the pass three years. I use to really like Froedtert but now I only like certain people at Froedtert.

Just gave birth yesterday i would recommend Froedert to anyone they are very kind patient and professional all nurses and doctors were concerned every second they delivered my child with no problem shout out to the Anesthesia team as well! Very good hospital!☺☺☺☺☺ i am satisfied

The healthcare side of things is normally very good. All the Docs, Nurses, Techs, and support people are very compassionate and care about the individual as a patent as well as a human being. The billing staff on the other hand seems to be in need of serious training or retraining. If there is any slightly abnormal situation or mistake in the coding of an item its seems they are unable to deal with it correctly. My wife suffers from stage IV cancer so we are at the facility quite frequently and of course rack up some pretty big charges. It seems every month for the past 3 or 4, we are spending hours on the phone with a different person each time going over the SAME issues time after time. It is very frustrating to have to mail, fax, e-mail forms again and again , and to call again again for the same situation. Today sorta broke the camels back, a person named DOMINIQUE spoke rather abruptly and harshly to my wife insisting our facts were wrong. At DOMINIQUE'S instance we conducted a 3 way call with her, us, and our insurer. Half way through this call DOMINIQUE just hangs up. It was her idea in the first place and now you just leave the call without explanation or follow up? Apparently she also did document anything correctly so that when and our insurers re initiated the 3 way call we were back to square one. Very frustrating. Thankfully the next person (Tasha) was was much easier to speak with, though i must say having spend even more time reexplaining things and wasting our insurers time on the call is unfortunate. Again, love the care given at Froedert but PLEASE have the billing staff given remedial training on their duties and procedures as well as common courtesy and phone etiquette.

If I could leave zero stars I would... so when it was time for us to get our anatomy scan at 20 weeks we went in for our appointment and everything seemed to go great, until the woman doing my scan said there was a certain angle of the baby she couldn't get that the dr. Really wants to see. So they said we needed to come back for a follow up appointment in order to get that picture. I asked if there would be another charge for that, and was told "oh no, it's just a follow up we don't charge for that." Ok great, so we came back a few weeks later, and I asked AGAIN to make sure that they wouldn't charge us and got the same response. It's just a follow up, no charge. So they got the angle they needed and that was that.. until a few weeks later when I got a bill for $420.00! And that's just my portion. The appointment total was $750 dollars for a supposed "follow up" that I honestly wouldn't have done had I known... so I called financial services and they put it in review and said I would be contacted about it. Well.. never got contacted and now I have a collections bill sitting here. Of course I called again, which took 6 tries mind you, because they're "busy". So the rude woman in financial department said they spoke with the charge nurse who told them that no one would ever say a follow up is not a charged appointment. Well, Dreama who works at the front desk reaffirmed to me that it was in fact A NO CHARGE APPOINTMENT. Now my word against theirs, Thanks for screwing over a loyal patient. I also work in health care and can tell you we NEVER charge for a follow up because it's part of the first appointment. I'm done with froedert, I've never felt so taken advantage of.

D. l.

saw what was suppose to be the best neurosurgeon there for spine surgery. worst experience ever. the doctor never came in before i was wheeled into the surgery room, even in the surgery room before i went to sleep in only saw the resident standing over me as i asked and asked for the surgeon. to make things even worse the doctor never even went to speak to my family and friends who were waiting for me. smh once i went into my room my family asked the nurse over and over for the doctor they wanted to see him ... the response from the nurse was hes in surgery with other patients! i did not see the doctor till two days later. i only saw the p.a. this is the worse experience i have ever had and would not want anyone to have to be treated the way my family and i have been treated or lack of.

I read some of the one stars, I got to tell you I had nothing bad, so far, at this place. Unbelievable people working there, doctors, nurses, all the assistants behind the desk, cleaning people, you name it. I have nothing but great things to say about all of them. Love the attitudes I've seen of all these people, made me feel welcome. It seems they go out of their way to help me with my appointment scheduling and such also. Came here for a second opinion on my ISSUES, if you will, and love the care they have provided so far. Yes, it's a strong 5 stars from me. I know people that this place have saved their lives when other hospitals and such gave them no hope. I'll stay here and make the hundred or so mile drive to get here, I think my life is worth a few extra miles of driving and a tank of gas. But that's my opinion!!

Jim Matson

Billing is ridiculous. I was at Froedtert South. I have no complaint regarding the service. But I have been harassed by their billing dept to setup an agreed on amount of $400 per month which I have refused. I offered $100 per month and they refused. Heres the kicker, thats only in case something bad happens I send them over $400 per month. And I get harassing calls to the point I have blocked their number. Make the payment arrangements in advance or go elsewhere.

Noel Gonzalez

Was treated like i did not mater no need for xrays ruptured disk in spine was given no medicine can't even walk high blood pressure heart angina please don't be seen by P A they dont care because there not in pain how sad thats why cops die there

Rowan Wickman

Terrible doctors I've been there twice and both times I've been either misdiagnosed or ignored. The first time I went in was for a kidney stone the conversation went like this. Doctor: so what brings you in today Me: I passed a stone and now I'm peeing blood Doctor: well we will need to take a few pictures of you to make sure that is the case After the photos are taken I'm told I didn't pass a stone and I have tract infection instead and was sent home The second time I went in I was having sever ankle pain and my ankle swells like softball almost randomly for about a year before I finally went in to get it checked out. I was given an x-ray told it was swollen ankle and sent home with a bag of ice and $1300 in medical bills.

Kris K

Very poor. No regard for timeliness. Impossible to schedule with. Will not listen to and believe patient. Wait hours after scheduled time slot for surgery.

Kelly Koppelman

Had a hysterectomy last July. They left the ovaries. Today, I have a giant cyst on one. They want to wait and see even though I've been in pain for 3 days already. Then, despite specifically stating I refused to be admitted only for observation, that's exactly what they did! I then received the most condescending lack of care from Dr Manning that I will NEVER use Froedtert again! I literally had to remove my own IV! My little sister called about egg-free flu shots and was told "that's not a thing." It is a thing. She's had them before. Just because your pharmacist has never heard of something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Heath Wasserman

My doctor Ninef Zaya requested on a number of occasions copies of my medical records which are quite extensive which they never responded to or provided. I filed a complaint against the hospital with the, Better Business Bureau, which they did not respond to.

Jacob Brandt

I usually don't have a great experience at their ER, I usually end up going to the Moorland location instead due to the long wait. However, I was at a doctors appointment and ended up needing to be rolled downstairs to the ER as I couldn't walk (room was spinning) and couldn't tolerate light due to a pretty severe migraine. I did have to wait, but at least it was only around 15 minutes. In the past, I have usually had to wait to receive medicines, but they were on the ball. Saw the doctor and the resident within minutes of my arrival in the room. The migraine "cocktail" was administered to me which started to help, but didn't take great care of it. They looked at my charts and saw in the past I received a couple different medicines, so they gave me those... and that took the migraine down to a tolerable status. After everything started to work, all the doctors got stuck in the trauma bay due to a couple flight for life patients that arrived. Even with that, Dr. Ricci... the resident who was treating me, came back after and was extremely apologetic about the wait in getting me discharged. He went the extra mile and referred me to someone who can help treat my more common migraines a bit closer, and really made sure everything was good before letting me go. The nurses, I can't say good enough things about... they were awesome as well. Kudos, because I was impressed... that type of care for being so busy is awesome. Not sure if something changed in the management of things, or I just got lucky... but I thought I would make it known that it isn't all bad, and care can be very good here in this ER.

Lynn Fohr

The ER staff is caring, but inefficient. Everything takes an ETERNITY. It's been 9 hours, and my elderly mother still hasn't been admitted. Suggestion: Don't come to any hospital without an advocate along to speak up for you.

Brittany Malicki

I typically don't leave reviews but after the experience my mom and dad had yesterday, I feel obligated too. My Dad had cardiac ablation surgery yesterday that lasted about 5 hours. He was out of surgery around 1pm and then headed to recovery. He needed to stay overnight since the surgery is pretty extensive. Typically patients spend about an 1 or so in recovery. My dad was in recovery for 7 and a half hours until 8:30 pm because they couldn't find a bed for him!!! Also, the doctor who did his surgery never greeted him before the surgery or checked in on him or my mom after the surgery. I know doctors are extremely busy but I find this ridiculous and insensitive. At the end of the night when we were still in recovery, the nurses were complaining they couldn't go home yet because there were patients still in recovery - probably shouldn't complain right in front of the patients who can clearly hear you. The one thing that went well was the surgery because he is out recovering but there are some things that were very disappointing that Froetert should continue to have process improvement for.

Andrew Gauger

Saved my life! The docs, nurses and techs are great! One star off for things not generally related to the care providers... They are forced to spend too much time entering EVERYTHING into the computerized medical record, thus, no one has time to actually read/use any of it! There is a lack of coordination between providers many rely on the computer that no one reads... can be frustrating. Parking and navigation around the medical campus is really bad. Overall, there is no where else to go if you are really sick in Wisconsin (and Chicago)!!!

Maryann Gorski

Well-coordinated multi-disciplinary care

Just recently had a visit to Froedert for feeling extremely nauseous, flu symptoms, and pains in my stomach. I tried to explain this to the staff and I suggested an ultrasound for pains in my stomach which was completed. They just told me to Follow up with my GI dr. However, there was no information or concern placed on my flu symptoms. They did not tell my if I had a fever, my blood pressure, or anything that would help to diagnosis if what I was experiencing was the flu. They left me in a cold room with just the smock on for over an hour and a staff member stated they forgot about me becaz a crisis came through the ER as well. I just feel Like I wasted my time and money going here in general. Next time I will choose to go with my first instinct which would be Community Memorial.

I'm getting stuck paying for a doctor's visit I never made or even went to. Now I'm stuck paying for it for some reason. Called to get on a payment plan and double one month and even miss sending out statement after correcting that mistake. So here I am again paying two months of payments for one month. I've already switched to a different health provider because of having to pay for a doctor's visit I didn't ask for and poor service. The last time I was at this hospital for a C-section the nurse ignored me when I told her I felt something gushing down my legs. Turns out I was bleeding out with huge blood clots. I ended up having to have a DNC, blood transfusion, and wasn't able to see my baby 16 hours later. A different nurse told me I need to go to bed and stay there because it was "bed time". She moved my call button, cell phone and room phone. I was so weak and cold I couldn't even yell for help. We told the charge nurse and said I'd be handled but then ever nurse after except for 1 was rude and then tried to rush me out of the hospital. Nothing was handled and our insurance company was charged for all of there mistakes. I was so low on blood and they needed to put in a new IV. They made a game of nurses trying to get it even after calling the specialist with the ultrasound. I left the hospital covered in bruises. I was also given the wrong medication (blood thinner). The nurses didn't listen to my OB on things as well. So many more things went wrong....

Stephen Tanner

The doctors and nurses were amazing and couldn't do enough. The hospital was spotless and well equipped but to an Englishman the funding/ Insurance was a nightmare compared to the NHS in England

Jeff Coopman

Rushed to emergency room on advice of my vascular surgeon who works here, saying that it's a limb or life Condition.6 hrs later they checked both twice and nobody even has looked at my foot

Shaun Geracie

This practice is based on moving patients through their office as fast as possible to increase revenue. They change the type of visit you go to their offices for without letting you know, and increase the fee they charge without you being able to challenge it or respond.

Cheyenne Williams-Caldwell

Would give zero stars if i could. I left feeling worse than when I went in and im STILL in pain. I told one of several nurses after they all asked me my pain level 1-10 and I told them an 8. I was rushed out to the waiting area so I can leave. My acid reflux is still burning and I have no medication for it. All they did was feel my stomach and ask me the same questions. I CAN FEEL MY STOMACH AT HOME. I left with yet another misdiagnosis and I am very angry about that because I just wasted my time and Im still hurting. Then they told me since I am a self pay patient I have to pay an extra 100. FOR WHAT?! These "doctors" and "nurses" should be ashamed of themselves. All I received was some milky numbing liquid for my reflux and was sent on my merry way.

I had went into the ER Friday night due to severe pain in my back and neck, which I had already gone to urgent care for, but had not gotten any relief from for more than 24 hours later, as well as starting to have numbness in my hand and up my arm. I waited in the ER for over 5 hours to see a doctor to which they treated me as if I was a bum off the street, pill seeking, because I ask for what had worked for me to even allow me to go sit in the ER for 5 hours. They had assumed that I did not have insurance because the person had not been in to get my private insurance information. They sent in a social worker because I did not have a primary care physician, only because I have recently moved to this area, and they did not see my insurance on file. This social worker set me up with an appointment at a clinic for people without insurance. When I called to cancel this appointment, since I'm going to go see my dad's spine specialist (as he has major spine issues prior to his passing), they told me that I did not have an appointment set up. The resident was at first kind, until after the attending, Dr. Lenz, came in. After that they both treated me very poorly. I have never in my life had treatment so horrible, this hospital should be ashamed of how they're treating people!

Awful billing experience. Months and months of run-around. Our healthcare system is a failure.Really hoping I get a reply to send an email to their customer relations team. They are not looking to help you.

They have a great (and extensive) facility with a variety of specialty clinics that are full of very qualified staff. I spent too much time in another local hospital system and received no diagnosis and felt unheard but when I switch to Froedert they completely restored my faith in the medical profession. My doctors at Froedert were able to provide answers and medication within the first visit. Simply incredible and highly recommended to all seeking a second opinion, because of their size and the fact that they are a teaching hospital system means they have a larger experience base to offer you as the patient.

I have made a huge mistake going to this hospital. I filled out financial paperwork for my hospital bill and called multiple times saying that I was having trouble getting some of the paperwork in. I was told that it wasn’t a big deal and that I should get my paperwork in as soon as I can. The hospital sent my bill to collections!! I had no warning of this and was trying to do everything the right way by notifying them. They should have told me to not even bother with my paperwork then. I’m also currently on hold with the hospital and it has been a half hour. Unbelievable. Adding to this experience, no one in the financial department has any idea what is even going on. This hospital is unorganized and I’m the one that is paying for it. They also made an error and were going to give me 10% off of my bill instead of 100%!!! I had to catch their mistake.

Froedtert is allegedly suppose to by one of the best but unfortunately they are actually the worst! Not only did all of the "care" there leave me in excruciating pain but my patient rights were violated left right and center! These doctors and nurses should be ashamed of themselves! As a future nurse I WILL NEVER WORK FOR FROEDTERT they are a disgrace! I was left in pain because my needs weren't being met, ortho only cared about one part of my injury and the other part was left! Now I'm left with lasting effects as well as trust issues with seeing doctors outside of my primary because Froedtert is a joke and they rob their patients of everything; dignity, honesty, their rights, information regarding their own care, and worst of all MONEY! My care was so terrible that in order to get properly treated I had to seek treatment elsewhere to get back to somewhat of a normal life after there poor "treatment" and "care" ended up ripping my life apart.

This hospital staff is horrible!! terrible terrible ppl!!! Do not come here if you have a serious illness! I brought my daughter here for the very first time to visit her grandmother who has cancer and in her last days. And the nurse would not give my child a doctors note for school The next day. Then she refused to let me speak with the doctor or anyone else! And now my child has a unnexcused absense at school for her dieing grandparent. If you have the choice choose a hospital with better patient care!

Love to work here. Love my doctor's here. Great hospital. Great organization. Great people.

My brother has been here over a month with a severe tbi. I am a CNA. So I know what a good bedside manner is. And I also know it is your job to care for the patient AND their families. I am disgusted with how rude and poor the bedside manner is for my brother. Total lack of respect to him and his family who are asking questions we don’t know the answers to. You’re the ones with medical knowledge. It is your job to explain things. If you can’t find someone can! And don’t be rude, everyone is scared and confused as it is. Can’t wait for him to get the hell out of here. Your nurses need a refresher on bedside manner and basic respect. Absolutely disgusting!!!!

Great surgical team, and CVICU. However, they have kept my husband there WAY too long for the condition he is now in, mentally. He is a dialysis patient as well, and has been given dialysis about 9 of the past 12 days. Also, last night they moved him to a different room - same unit - without ever contacting me with the reason why (he had complained in the evening about heart pains, so they took him for an EKG) and moved him to a new room without ever notifying me. Very disappointed in the poor communication.

Don’t get me wrong the nurses and doctor that preformed my fathers surgery were absolutely wonderful and so were the nurses in Recovery and ICU. When we first check into the Family Center there was a lady named Grundy. She was fabulous! But as for those other Family Center staff they are another story Bonnie I believe was her name. What a grumpy, very unsympathetic lady! Every time we walked past she would look over her glasses and give us an unpleasant look. There was another one who works later in the evening she didn’t know what the heck she was talking about and yet again another snotty attitude questioning me about everything she possibly could before I could see my dad up in recovery. Kept saying we all couldn’t see him at once and who was going to watch our stuff. Like look lady it’s none of your business. We have been there since 4am it was about 5pm. Neither one of those ladies deserves to be in the position they are in. Don’t they understand that families that have to wait in the family center are going through a tough time and need compassion NOT to be treated like my siblings and I were.

Extensive and prolonged experience with this facility. Big Place. Working our dysfunctional healthcare system to make one thing - Big Profits. Not at all patient centered. It is clear that profits come before patient care and outcomes. With that said, staff are typically kind, understanding - and very overworked. IE: ER doc advised me that I needed to see a specialist within 48 hours. Yet, scheduling advised that it would be a five week wait. Ditto for an important procedure. Suggestion to administration: Hire more staff to meet the needs of your patients. Overall model of practice needs to shift away from profits and back to patients.

Do not go to Froedtert Hospital For a Kidney Transplant. I am in need of a Kidney Transplant, I went in January of this year for a evaluation the Financial Liaison Nancy Gaska did not know what my insurance covered so I had a unnecessary delay for my testing. I tried to explain to her what my insurance covered and She told me I was wrong. The Nurse Jamie is one of most incompetent Nurse's I have ever met. the Psychologist Dr. Price is did not listen to a word I said. I have brought these concerns to supervisor's and they have done nothing. they will quote you policy but when You ask to see it they don't have it in writing. my view on the staff of this hospital are they are one of the most uncaring, uncompassionate, unaccountable staff at a hospital I have ever met. I highly recommend if you still choose to go to this Hospital that you document, and recorded everything.

Tijuan Walker

One of the best in Milwaukee County for service and patient services!

This hospital is one of the best in the Midwest. The trauma center here is one of the best in the country. If you are having any ailments that require emergency attention this would be the hospital to choose. They have the most trained doctors in the region.

Mary Raines

Had a kidney transplant there in Nov. 2015. The drs., nurses and staff were amazing. The most caring and knowledgeable folks that I have ever met in the medical profession. And, they spent time with you instead of the usual 15 minutes you sometimes get from other medical areas.

Because they saved my beautiful girlfriend from cancer, she almost couldn't make it,but they saved her

Went to the ED based on recommendation of a possible ectopic pregnancy. Waited 5 hours before being discharged with ANOTHER PREGNANT WOMAN’S DISCHARGE INFORMATION.... I now have someone else’s ultrasound results listed on Mychart when my ultrasound results were the complete opposite. I love the specialty clinics and if it weren’t for them I would never go back.

The labor and delivery team is great an the few nurses we had down in the E.R. during our late night visits were great I had a high risk pregnancy an at 20 weeks an couple days I went into labor after a failed stitch procedure due to it becoming dangerous for our daughter an our daughter was born in march 2019 an passed away 25 minutes later the nurses an doctors were amazing they made sure my significant other an I were taken care of thru the whole delivery an made all kinds of mementos for us to take home in memory of our daughter! We will for sure be going back to this hospital!

Rebekah Stuck

The nurses and staff in general were friendly however when it came to the QUALITY of actually medical care I have received it is extremely low. When I came into the ER with uncontrollable vomiting, diarrhea, and the worst pain I’ve experienced outside of childbirth I had to RETELL my situation to SIX DOCTORS each who told me one thing they were going to start doing for me which none of them did any of the things and I had to repeat it ask the nurse what was happening and call them back in to get any answers after waiting a solid two hours as I was in so much pain I was literally writhing in pain and screaming. And I have a high pain tolerance. Than once they admitted me because my liver levels were dangerously high I spoke to a different doctor who I never saw again and I never got answers from. Then the next morning I spoke to yet a DIFFERENT doctor who asked me to bring in labs from my functional medicine doctor so we could pull them and communicate with her about a plan for what may be going on. Never saw that doctor again. The next morning finally I saw a new student and they did a small exam but I had some questions about what was going on and when I could restart my antidepressant they had taken me off cold turkey (super dangerous with this type btw and I’ve been having a lot of withdrawal symptoms as a result) that meds student never returned like he said he would with an attending to explain what was going on with my body or what the plan would be moving forward seeing all the meds the took me off cold turkey when I was admitted or if/when I should return to work. Then a nurse comes in and tells me I’m being discharged. I told him I’m not moving until I appeal to a doctor and know 1) what the heck is going on with my body 2) what is the plan of action medication wise and 3) when can I expect possibly to feel like I’m not dying (extreme fatigue and dizziness) and sagely return to work. Extremely frustrating experience.

Wanted to give the valet driver Johnny a thumbs up. I attended the emergency room department last night he parked my car quickly and after being discharged I spoke with him. He not only retrieved my vehicle quickly n the cold weather but he was very polite! He takes pride in providing great customer service and adds on to the patient care for froedtert. Some may not know but the first person you come in contact with sets the tone for how your stay will go. Thank you so much for your positive words and excellent customer service!!!

I had my Kidney Transplant at this hospital 11 yrs ago. I am so thankful to the transplant team and all the doctors that worked together so well to give me a second chance at life. This is one of the best hospitals I have been to.

Alex Yendrzeski

Just had our baby boy here last week and had a great experience all around in the birthing center. Nurses and doctors were all around friendly and down to earth. Would recommend it to others.

We gave been going to Froedert for several years now, but unfortunately this year we are dealing with over billing. This is the third time we have been double billed. Someone should be looking into this. Not very happy.

austinc72

We waited 6 months before they would schedule an appointment and another month of waiting for that appointment after it was made. After those 7 months of waiting, it was cancelled the day before. The only reason we got in at all was because someone in a higher position listened and fit us in. After arriving for a minor surgery, and after 7 months of waiting, we were told they don't want to do the surgery and told to see a physical therapist instead. This wouldn't have been such a problem if there hadn't been so many painful months of waiting before being told they wouldn't do anything. The scheduling and management of this hospital is abysmal.

My Dad had a very large stroke a couple months ago. 2 days after the stroke the neurologists (Dr. Helms and Dr. Champeau) told us he would not recover much from his near-vegetative state and that if we kept him alive he would live in a nursing home the rest of his life being tube fed, and within a year and a half die of pneumonia. If we had listened to these geniuses we'd have put my Dad in hospice and he'd have been dead weeks ago. Fortunately we gave the old man a chance; he now feeds himself, talks, laughs, and continues to meet his therapy goals. The nursing care and therapy he received while at Froedtert was exceptional. The social workers were also great. The neurologists, however, left a lot to be desired. Take their prognostications with a heavy dose of salt. All the letters behind their names don't mean they know everything, despite what they tell you.
