I'm sure the staff is excellent and very skilled, so that's why I didn't go with one star. The problem is really the wait. Well over two hours after my appointment time before I was seen by the doctor today. Forget about the wait just to check in. Others in the waiting room gave me the impression the wait is very normal, so my two extra long visits seem to be the norm.

I had nothing short of an amazing experience here. The front check in staff could be a little more friendly but other than that, the surgical staff was amazing and Dr. Heckert was very patient and informative with all of my questions that I had and he made sure that I clearly understood everything that he was going to do. They were all very patient with me as this was my first surgery and first time being under anesthesia. The wait was not bad at all I actually got in early. And he came in early since I was already there and I was his only surgery that day. I would without a doubt refer anyone to him and this office.

Dr Heckert punishes the child for the parent's mistake. People are human- maybe someday he'll see the light.

I had cataract surgery on 11/9 and found the care and facility to be outstanding. Dr. Chen and all of the nurses were professional, caring and carefully explained what they would be doing. They helped me feel relaxed and very comfortable. I would recommend BayCare Eye specialists to anyone having eye surgery.

We see Dr. Heckert for pediatric opthamology, and he and his staff are fantastic. He has done surgery for my son, and did a wonderful job. He explains everything thoroughly and answers questions well. His staff is very good with working with children who might be scared or overwhelmed by what's going on. They keep Disney movies playing in the reception area as well as each room, so the children have something to focus on. They also double check results for accuracy - the technician checks the children's eyes, and then the doctor double checks it. My only complaint is the wait time past the appointment time - sometimes they get backed up, and we have had to wait an hour past our scheduled time to go in, be seen by the tech, and then another 45 min to be seen by the doctor. That's the only reason I gave them a 4/5.

I found the Dr's themselves to be rude and the wait time long. I have been a patient for 25+ years. As they are in network my choices are few. My main issues are the poor customer care, long wait times and dismal patient bed side manner.

My mother has been seeing Dr. Heckert who has given her amazing care, props to Dr. Heckert, but as for the staff that mislead and gave us false information stating my mother's insurance was in network when it wasn't, was misleading and extremely disappointing. Initially we were told that Baycare was out of network, so we had everything set up to see another doctor in Milwaukee. I received a phone call a few days after being told we were out of network from the receptionist at Baycare Eye Clinic stating that they had a mixup and found out we were in network. Not even realizing or thinking that we should reach out to insurance again to confirm this, we went ahead and scheduled with Baycare as it was closer to home. Who would've known that we've been mislead from start to finish. You would think during check in, if they re-verified eligibility and were collecting my mother's copays, they would tell us that my mother's plan was out of network, but no. We didn't find out until very last minute that my mothers insurance wouldn't cover her surgery. That's when I did some digging and realized they've mislead us from the beginning and all her office visits weren't even covered. This would've been filed a case, if I still have had the phone call from Bay Care Eye Clinic's receptionist. This is definitely a learning lesson to all, I'd suggest patients look else where for an Eye Clinic as this is probably why they're rated so poorly. Please train and educate your staff better into being straight forward with out of network patients and to not mislead.

I would give this facility and staff 0 stars if I could. I waited over a week for them to call to book an appointment from a referral from our pediatrician who is in the same building. They tested us and got concerning results and referred us to do a procedure with our neurologist. They never sent the results to our neurologist even when the neurologist called themselves and asked for them. 3 days later I said I would pick up the images myself if I had to and the employee had the nerve to tell me I should call my pediatrician to get the eye Dr images needed after telling me no images were taken. Our procedure then came back normal and the dr was eye dr was supposed to refer us to a neuro opthamologist. 2 weeks later I called our pediatrician to find out the eye dr only did it the day before. ABSOLUTE DISAPPOINTING CARE FOR MY 5 YEAR OLD. RUDE EMPLOYEES. NO CARE FOR PATIENTS.

I see so many bad reviews on here, I wanted to share my good review to even things out. My providers were Dr. Vrabel, Dr. Sonnenberg, and Dr. Duffy. Each was great in their own way and this is my honest review. Dr. Vrabel was a bit skeptical about doing corrective laser and stint eye surgery for my shattered orbital floor stating that he did not believe he could correct the condition and explained in detail why(good call). He referred me to Dr. Duffy who performed the orbital floor repair. Dr. Duffy gave me the options and advice that I needed to make an informed decision as to whether or not to proceed. Most importantly, he found other conditions supporting why even if I did not have the surgery for just the orbital floor repair, why I should still have it to correct other potentially life threatening infections. I was then referred to Dr. Sonnenberg to discuss what Dr. Duffy had found, Dr. Sonnenberg specialized in nasal and sinus. I had two prior orbital floor surgeries 10 years ago to repair an orbital floor that was shattered during a home invasion/robbery/assault. One was done at Aspirus in Wausau by a well qualified surgeon but it was too soon after the surgery to be able to remove all the bone and align the plate and everything properly but because he was able to do what he did, it saved the muscles in my eye. A few months later I went to the Mayo clinic and had my 2nd surgery, which removed the bees wax mesh plate and replaced it with a new one. That was the one that was in my eye for 10 years. The 2nd surgery did not leave enough free muscle for proper eye movement so for 10 years I had terrible double vision. The surgery takes a big toll on the body and the healing process is quite long and there is always a risk to surgery so I put it off for so long hoping it would just get better. They eye continued to hear for about 3 years and the vision got slightly better but it was still TERRIBLE. After the trio of BayCare Specialists helped me, I can see so much better. I am very grateful to them, not only for their abilities as surgeons but also their professionalism and courtesy, I was treated very well and all my questions were answered. I still have double vision but it is more than 50% better than it was. You have to be realistic when it comes to these types of surgeries. 50% though now allows me to watch TV lying on my side, it also allows me to look to my sides and up partially without having to move my head up and down. It also allows me to not have to keep my head at a tilt and an angle when looking forward. They all took an extra step in what they specialize in to make my quality of life so much better. I am most thankful for Dr. Duffy who performed the eye surgery and Dr. Sonnenberg who performed the sinus surgery. As a team they worked together and supported each other well. I was told after the surgery that there was one muscle that would not break free from the old scar tissue but with the encouragement of the other surgeon they kept trying and I believe that was the tissue that really helped me see better. In addition to the floor repair, they corrected a deviated septum and Dr. Sonnenberg created draining in my nasal cavities to allow my sinus to work as it is suppose to. In doing so, it has allowed me to breathe so much better than I have in the past 10 years. The old mesh that was replaced with a plastic one as well, but the old mesh was very close to my sinus cavity so if it ruptured the sinus cavity it would have caused major problems. There was also an infection in my sinus cavity I never knew about until these providers uncovered them. For the past 10 years I use to get sick about once every month or two, even in the summer I would get sick. I have only gotten since once in the past 9 months and it was likely just a cold. Even still, I could actually breathe even though my nose was stuffy... it's something I couldn't do even before the assault.

While the wait time was long, due to the emergency last minute nature of my visit, the care was excellent and the results could not have been better. Very happy with the experience. Thank you Doctor Scattergood.

Megan Schroeder

Very nice place. Staff is awesome.

I've been a patient for years and always found the staff rude and quite frankly insulting. I will now look elsewhere for my eye care needs.

The wait time is long, but there are patients everywhere! To me that's a good sign. The staff there was amazing. Gave me a detailed explanation of what was going to happen with my procedure. People in the OR helped me relax, very professional.

Today I was at Green Bay Eye Clinic with my mother. In the first waiting area we waited for 30 minutes before someone took my mother to her eye exam. This was not even to see the Dr. Next we were taken to the exam room to see the Dr and waited 20 minutes before he came in. This was an initial appointment for cataracts for my mother. The total time from when we arrived until we left was 2 hours and 30 minutes. This is uncalled for and needs to be corrected.

Oh my god. I really felt the opthamologist doctor was rude to me. I am not sure it is with the culture but she treated like I have no idea of what she is talking and couldn't find any professionalism on her approach. I wouldn't recommend her.

Nick Ray

I am impressed. Everyone that I interacted with was extremely nice and helpful. The sign in process was quick and painless. I was back in the exam room before I even got a chance to look at glasses and Dr. LaVallie waited for me while I consulted with Kelly about glasses while my eyes were dilating. Everyone took an interest in my personal life which made me feel like they cared. Dr. LaVallie was very professional during the exam and answered any questions that I had. They were upfront with my insurance coverage. I have to give a special shoutout to Kelly the Optician who helped my look at glasses. She took the time to listen to my situation and gave me a great recommendation. Even though I wasn't going to order glasses, she went the extra mile to fix up my current glasses by replacing the nose pads, tightening the hinges, and cleaning the lenses. I can't think more that I could've asked of her. Overall it was a fantastic experience!

Jeff Riedl

Horrific treatment. I will not return under any circumstances. Nobody that I have encountered in this organization could even SPELL accountability, much less actually be accountable ... the "culture" of the organization appears to be to blame someone else when the ball gets dropped, then pass you off, put you on hold, or drop you in to a black-hole voice mail account rather than to actually deal with a problem or make things right. Scheduled appointment with this facility and had to set it a month out. Called a week before the appointment to be told I had no appointment.

My experience at the Bay Eye Clinic on Mason Street in Green Bay, WI was exceptionally excellent. Every staff person I encountered, at every level of care, was more than wonderful. They all were cheerful, friendly, and very compassionate. I was having cataract surgery and had some trepidation, but evey step of the way I felt welcomed, confortable, and important. I was assured that all would be well and that I would be comfortable throughout the procedure. The ophthalmologist, Dr. Wienkers, was awesome and attentive. He explained the procedure thoroughly, drew diagrams and he was exceptionally kind and friendly. All the OR nurses, techs, anesthesiologist, and other staff were all great! The ophthalmology tech, Denise was terrific. The nurse, Andy (female) was fun, friendly and so caring and positive. I can’t say enough about the high quality of care I received. Thank you ALL so much for making a potentially stressful experience so easy and so positive.

Carey Federer

Holy cow. Why even bother with an appointment time? They never see you without at least a one hour wait past your time. Plenty of people walking around with charts and clipboards, gotta give 'em that. But is anyone really working??

Pat Jansen

Yes the wait was annoying but having worked in a professional office myself, years ago, I understood. The doctor was very professional and I appreciated his care. The person in the eye care part was very helpful and I love my glasses! Now the problem I have is with the call for my yearly exam-so fast I could not write the number down and when I selected a number to repeat it, I was disconnected. The fact that it was a recording is even worse-REDO IT AT A SLOWER, MORE PATIENT FRIENDLY PACE.

Amanda Irwin

The PSR that assisted me at the end of my appointment was inconsiderately rude. Was told that I had to pay $60 upfront for my appointment, even though I confirmed with my insurance through Aurora that I have $0 responsibility up front with any costs besides if I were to purchase frames. I only went for a routine eye exam. Paid the $60, the bill was processed through my HEALTH insurance rather than my VISION insurance I had given the rude girl. My EOB from UMR (Aurora ins) stated that my responsibility for all my services was just over $19. Have yet to see where the rest of that $60 went. Will never go back.

Nothing. Been here since 3:15 and it's now 3:55 and we now have a 1.5 hour wait! How can you schedule appointments and make people wait that long! Rediculous!

Not impressed. I have called them three times and no answer. Who is running this place? I left a message with a question. They called back and left me a message , " if you have questions feel free to call"... DUH.. I already did and you didn't answer my question. I no longer feel confident enough to utilize their services.. My instincts tell me to get away and tell others to get away. Cheers. Better off elsewhere.

Over the past several months I have been interacting with the LASIK team. They have been wonderful. I came in for a free appointment where they mapped my eye to see if I was a candidate before investing on the more expensive appointments, and explained the procedure - including the risks and benefits. Finally I got the procedure scheduled. I came in from out of town and they worked with my local eye Dr. to do the preliminary exam so I didn't have to come any earlier. The day of the exam they were running right on time. The staff was very friendly and kind. The Dr. explained the procedure to me, the risks and benefits, made sure I was aware of what could go wrong and took time to answer all of my questions. There was a bit of a hiccup with one machine that required it to be restarted which took about 25 minutes. They are delicate machines and I wanted them to work properly so I happily waited. The procedure went well and I was able to see pretty well right after the procedure. I went shopping for back-to-school supplies for my son and even went to play Bingo with my Mom that night - all in a pretty sweet set of goggles I may add. I had my followup in the morning and even though they told me I may lose some of my close vision I could read the smallest line on the hand held print. I could also easily read the 20/20 line. Things are still a little foggy but they are improving. The Dr. Larry Meyer said that my eyes were still a bit clouded when he looked and my vision should continue to improve over the next couple of weeks. Which is wonderful. I didn't think I could see much more clearly than I do right now. My eyes are pretty red in a couple of places but they aren't too bad considering. Oh and one more thing. They let my Mom watch on a video monitor and she took video of the procedure. Today I can see at least as good as I could with contacts and glasses. I have an overwhelming urge to adjust a contact lense or take out my contacts because I am so used to wearing them. I have decided to wear my goggles to bed for the next week so I don't rub my eyes in my sleep. I have worn contacts for 31 years and had glasses since I was 10 - right now I am 43.

Jackie working the checkout line was very very rude. She is not a person that belongs behind the desk working with people all day long. Not impressed at all.

Dr. Perchavich is the best eye doctor I've ever had. I believe he saved my sight. I won't ever go to anyone else! The stsff is well trained and efficient. Wait can be long, but well worth it.

I have been with Baycare for a number of years and have always remained a loyal and happy customer. Well... all good things must end I guess! Ashamed, because I like Dr. Lavallie... it's the support that sucks. Returning for my eye exam, I experienced a tremendous drop in service and definitely not a warm fuzzy feeling in this healthcare area. Cold, sterile and uncomfortable was the feeling in this experience. From receptionist at the contact counter looking at me irritated while I was waiting for her to finish a phone call so I could ask her my question to her pointing at a sign like I was 5, rather than taking a moment to talk to me... to not them having my prescription ready, to printing out the wrong prescription which I did not notice until the next day when ordering contacts... to calling and being put on hold for 10 minutes to get this fixed... to having them tell me they will mail me or I have me drive in 20 miles to pickup the correct one... to asking them if they could email it.. which they cannot... to having them fax it and having it totally screwed up again... to calling again... sitting on hold... to not being able to talk to the contact department to get this corrected again... being told they will just call me back... which was a hour ago... to having to type this in a review because I can't find an email address on their site to email them my frustration... which doesn't matter, because I can't see much... as I have my old contacts, (because I did not get a trial pair with the new prescription!) Which probably would have been the screwed up one anyhow. A one star rating in my case is too generous. I will be finding a new Eye Care Specialist moving ahead.

Been here a number of times always have to wait at least an hour. Very unprofessional staff standing in the hallway gabbing and giggling.

care was OK ...was told to sign here for care charges and not explained the extra costs added and Insurance refused because of too high for normal charges so my copays and percentage payment was higher..would not sign a thing from them unless you are a lawyer and are prepared to sue them ...I as a uninformed patient (but signed their forms) can not do a thing to them as explained to me from Medicare and my insurance Watch OUT
