As someone with bad eyes (talking -11.5 in each eye, glasses since age 7), is been searching all the local and not so local eye doctors. Most consultations resulted in "Sorry, there simply isn't anything we can do for you". One came back as "We can do implanted lenses for $8K+".
Working with Jessica at Alexander eye institute, not only was she great to work with (she she put up with my sense of humor), she talked me out of the implanted lens option, and got me setup for RPK surgery. I highly recommend you go into the surgery knowing as little about the procedure as possible, by the way.
The team there is great to work with. Surgery day went great! Recovery was pretty much on part with expectations (4 days off heavy recovery for PRK, slept for 60+ hours during that time, nothing else you can enjoyably do), another week of general recovery before things started feeling pretty good.
Here I am 4 months later, and my vision is great, testing out at 20/20 (which with my eyes as terrible as they were, was given the understanding it may only recovery to -2), eyes are feeling great. No glasses, no contacts!
Thanks again Dr Alexander and team. I'd have to other good options if not for your hard work and great support.
